Gaia Fashion Insider

Did this make anyone else mad
"where some of our best-dressed moderators offer helpful advice on how to craft a great avatar"

They don't look that great to me oO

I kinda liked the New, Broke, and Fabulous advise but
all that is common sense

To me it just sounds like advertising for the cash shop

meh.

On another note, doing something like that in the guild might be kinda cool

Even I was feeling a bit insulted there, and I'm nowhere near as fabulous as some of you guys.
New, Broke, and Fabulous, is something I live by, so that really isn't anything new. >> The entire Sushi post was Cash Shop advertising... Even when the mod is talking about how the skittles items go well, I noticed she only wore one skittles item in all of the examples she gave. Hypocrite.
D:
Dissapointed, I guess, that they would insult our intelligence this way.

As I was reading this, I was thinking the fabulous community isn't gonna like this too much.
(the fab community is those with great avi's, and people like Fashun and AT, that's just what I call it)
Those mods didn't look so great. . .

And Chibi, I have to agree with you.
I live by those rules, specially when I'm questing stuff. It's pretty much common sense.

I agree that the entire first section was just obvious advertising.

Like they're trying to glorify an item with not-so-great poses >.> There's maybe one pose that I want from it but the rest.... Ehhh, I guess it'll depend on what they're trying to charge for it.

Second portion... Yeah, common sense.... But I suppose if you're a newbie and don't know any better it might be helpful.

Mods.... No, not well dressed. More like walking advertisements for the stuff you can get using cash. Not that I can really talk on that point since I wear a bunch of CS items regularly, but I'm not posting advertisements saying 'Look how awesome these pixels are. Buy them.'

Yeah but...did it give anyone else a sudden urge to make a cheap avatar though?

Not at all.

Kinda makes me want to slap on all my expensive s**t just to say 'I can make this look better than you.'

Just to be an a*****e.

I have nothing else really to add. I just wanted to say thanks for pointing it out since I probably wouldn't have found that for another week or so.

I'm just happy that the second one said to "pick a theme (...) and/or a color scheme." Her statement doesn't ban people from matching sans theme. Good. >3 I would have had a bone to pick with that statement if she'd implied that all avatars must have a theme.

Article one was an obvious ad. Article two was less obvious, but still crammed Premium Items down our throats. Just the cheaper Premium Items. The advice was correct though. Unless someone has a knack for equipping cheap commons in interesting ways, the easiest thing to do to look like a Gaia pro is throw some sort of expensive item on your avatar. Well, at least by old standards.

I can't blame either mod for what they wrote. I don't know what their assignment was and what sort of parameters they were made to include.
