[To be the very best...]  [The Concept] Selected members of FEF will become Gym Leaders, Elite Four Members, the Rival, and the Champion, thus allowing others to battle them via the Pokemonexperte server at Shoddy Battle. It is your mission to defeat them and prove to everyone you are the best.
Gym Leaders and Elite Four do not have to be faced in the order listed in the second post, but all Gym Leaders must be defeated before advancing to the Elite Four.
The Rival has a special position- he can steal one of your hard earned gym badges! At random times, he is allowed to challenge you without warning. You must accept and defeat him in order to advance. Rejecting the challenge sends you back to the beginning- you have to defeat all the the gym leaders again in order to get your badges back if you reject, but losing only lets him take one badge. And yes, you have to sit through his motto.
Once you advance to the Elite Four, your badges can no longer be stolen, but you must defeat all of the Elite Four one after another, without any losses in between. A loss starts you over from the first Elite member, just like it would in the game.
Upon battling someone, whether it be a Gym Leader or one of the others, the outcome will be reported here, by at least one of the two that participated in it. If the battle proved to be a victory for you, the challenger, you will be awarded a badge and your achievement recorded and displayed in the third post where all challengers' information will be stored.
Shoddy battles are up to the two combatants to arrange, so that conditions are favorable for both. Displayed in the second post are the names of those that may be challenged, it is up to you to provide your Shoddy Battle name upon challenging. AIM is a great way to get in contact with them, if they choose to disclose their information, but PMs are preferable.
Everyone is allowed two subs, allowing for 8 Pokémon per Trainer. Aside from these 8, your team line-up cannot be altered to include any others, nor can you change the movesets between battles. All challengers and position-holders must comply to this rule. To change your team, you must forfeit whatever badges you've gained.
Information on the team line-ups of any of the people in the second post should never be disclosed unless you have their permission to do so, as some may want to keep their line-up a secret.
The rules of battle are decided on a person-by-person basis. This means that each position holder will have their own individual rules and clauses. Don't be afraid to ask us what they are! If you're not familiar with the Standard clauses, they'll be outlined in a later post.
The Champion is naturally the strongest trainer, thus the first person to defeat everyone becomes the first Champion. This is a rotating position though, so if another challenger defeats the current Champion, the position goes to them. I, KuraiKitty, will hold the position of Champion until someone usurps me. :3
Gym Leaders and Elites may challenge the FEF League. Only the Champion is barred from competing for the prize. 3nodding
The first Champion of FEF will receive a January 2005 letter (containing the Demonic Pendant/Angelic Bracelet)! Send me a trade if you beat the entire League. Disclaimer:

[I can meet your gaze...]  [Clauses] There are many clauses in competitive Pokémon battling- I'll be touching on the main ones here. If there are any I didn't list, I'll let the individual Gym Leaders explain them on their own. More specialized clauses will be listed first, and more standard ones will be listed later.
'Big Four' Clause: A rare specialty clause, limiting teams to using only one of the 'Big Four'- Dragonite, Tyranitar, Salamence, and Metagross. A relatively rare clause, but one to watch out for when making your teams.
Legends Clause: No Pokémon considered Legendary (ex: Legendary Dogs, Birds, Roaming Dragons, Cresselia, etc.) is admitted. If it cannot breed (and is not named Ditto), it is considered a Legendary. Nidorina, Nidoqueen, and Unown the exceptions to this rule. Phione and Manaphy are still confined to the title of 'Legends'.
Soul Dew Clause: No Pokémon may hold the item Soul Dew.
Ubers Clause: No Pokémon in the Uber tier may participate. The list of Ubers is as follows: Mew, Mewtwo, Wobbuffet, Wynaut, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Latios, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Deoxys, Garchomp, Darkrai, Palkia, Dialga, Giratina, and Arceus.
Hax Item Clause: Items that increase the likelihood of anything are banned- King's Rock, Razor Fang, Razor Claw, Brightpowder, Quick Claw, etc. They're considered Luck abusing items, and are banned by this clause.
Item Clause: No item may be used more than once on the same team. Ex: No team may have two Leftovers, two Choice Scarves, or two Flame Orbs.
Species Clause: No two Pokémon of the same species may be used on the same team.
Sleep Clause: Only one Pokémon may be forcibly put to sleep at a time, unless it is self-inflicted by Rest.
Evasion Clause: Moves that raise your evasion are banned- Double Team, Minimize, and the like are banned. Exceptions are the ability Sand Veil and the boosts from Acupressure. Brightpowder is banned.
Self-KO Clause: If the last Pokémon on a team knocks itself out while also taking out the opponent's last Pokémon using the moves Selfdestruct, Explosion, or Destiny Bond, the one using the move is declared the loser of the match.
OHKO Clause: No OHKO moves may be used (Guillotine, Sheer Cold, Fissure.)
Timed: Battles are fought using Shoddy's timer system. Those who exceed the time limit automatically forfeit the match.

Prior Gym Leaders: Keep your spot. If you want your teams still the way they are, post and say so. <3
We will have 5 Gym Leaders, 4 Elites, and 1 Champion.
If the current Gym Leaders keep their spots and you wanted to be a new one, too bad. If there's an open one, new challengers must fight for that position. <3
