So a funny thing happened today...

We were practicing in the auditorium for a concert. However, there were students three flights up taking an AP exam, and they could hear us. Of course, we were told to stop.

Our conductor then told us to sing our parts in our best singing voice.

That is all. It was pretty funny when we had to do the trills.

We do that a lot in marching season. Our bd doesn't want our lips to wear out, so the first half of every practice, we just sing our parts as we march xD

One time during the beginning of concert season, oru bd didn't want us to wear out our chops, so he had us sing our parts only. When we finished, one of our dms smiles and says "that was actually really good"

Our Jazz director makes us sing often. It's even better when he subs for our BD.

"You're all singing the same pitch! If you hear something that sounds like a choir of monks, something's wrong."

If our band is told to shut up, our BD says, "This is a band not a choir. My choir can quiet down... My band can't even if they wanted to." She'll turn to us and say, "Do you want to quiet down?" and we shout "HELL NO!"
"Right, otherwise, they would go out of tune. So the only one who will shut up here, is you." And she walks off. I love my BD
