Rabbit sighed as she flipped through the papers on the table in front of her. The medical file was interesting but not at all as intense as the medical journal that had come with it. It contained the steady digression into insecurity and eventual insanity of a doctor from mental ward. Apparently spending some much time around the insane had a rather grievous effect on his mental stability. Rabbit found it wholly interesting while Velvet found it boring and Q just down right didn't care. Velvet was piratically screaming for Rabbit to do something more interesting.
The female sighed gathering together her papers and putting them back in the file. She took that and the medical journal and started off picking her way lightly out of the shop. It had been her first excursion out of the house since she had arrived and it had proven to be... interesting to say the least. She hadn't met anyone but she had gotten to see quite a few interesting things. Slowly she opened the medical journal as she walked stepping lightly along the path her nose never leaving the interesting life before her. The doctor had been quite sane when he started. It was such a steady yet gradual progression that it was almost impossible to see in his ramblings. Yet Rabbit had been around the block enough times, and had suffered from the same symptoms herself that she could pick out the slight changes and ticks that slowly lead to his downfall.
She wasn't paying the least bit attention to where she was going so it wasn't really a surprise when she wound up mildly lost and in an area she didn't know about. Of course she didn't ever notice that she was lost until she happened to glance up and look around her. Upon finding out she was lost she did the most abnormal thing ever... she calmly shrugged her shoulders and kept going. Her eyes drifting back to her book as Velvet raged in the back of her mind. She didn't care in the least little bit.
It was only once the sun was starting to drift past mid afternoon that she truly took notice; and the only reason she noticed that it was mid afternoon was because she tripped over the root to a tree sending her books and things sprawling. Rabbit picked herself up slowly dusting herself off. Looking around her and realizing for the fist time that she was truly and completely lost. A small shiver ran down her spine and a almost sickening dread swept through her system at the thought of being outside alone at night.

The wind whooshing by his face made him feel free, Jas'cera decided. His black, magenta streaked hair whipped wildly about his pastel rainbow marked cheeks. His wings pumped furiously; he refused to land so early, not when he'd just become calm again. Calm meant he could feel without broadcasting it on a six mile radius around him. Of course, if a certain female or male was within that six miles, he'd gladly focus on them and pour every ounce of pain towards them. No, that wouldn't be right... And Mother wouldn't exactly approve of that. He sighed, angling his body down as he pulled his wings against his back. Spiraling down towards the ground, he closed his bright emerald eyes, trying to picture a perfect mate. All that he saw behind closed eyes was darkness, deep and lonely.
A growl slipped passed his lips, his wings snapped open, pulling him out of the dive seconds before he would have smacked the unforgiving dirt. Slowly, he opened his eyes. His feathery wings beat steadily as he climbed high in the sky again, looking for a tall tree. Most trees here were too short, or he'd already spent the time he'd wanted to spend in it. Ahead, he saw a giant oak that would suffice.
Slowing his speed until he was at a mere hover above the highest branch, he craned his head, searching the surrounding area. It was about mid-afternoon, judging by the sun, so no one should have been out. Shrugging, he curled his wings to his back, dropping gracefully onto the branch. As he lowered his body onto the cool, rough wood, his lavender tipped tail curled tightly around his body, the only sign of his emotional vulnerability. He sighed, closing his eyes again, huddling closer to the trunk of the tree.
The wind rustled the leaves around his "bed", almost as if it was singing him a lullaby. A small smile twitched at his lips; ever since the incident, he'd been having a bit of a love affair with the sky and wind. They accepted him with no questions, which he greatly needing at this point in time.
A far away, faint thud and rustle made his eyes snap open and his head jerk up. Someone was down there, right below his resting place. He hissed softly, uncurling slowly as he crept from branch to branch, trying to get closer. Almost on the lowest level of branches, he caught a glimpse of white, red, and blue. The colours were sleek, feminine, just as the body was. His heart stuttered, leaping into his throat. It was a female. Females did not like him. But she seemed... He cocked his head to the side, narrowing his bright eyes as he studied her. She seemed like she needed help.
Clenching his jaw, he slammed his strongest barriers around his mind, trying his best to leash his empathic powers. Lithely, he slipped from the branches, landing soundlessly in front of her. With no expression, he gathered the papers strewn across the ground and set them--neatly stacked--before her. His eyes never met hers, and he shifted uncomfortably every few seconds. He was nervous, extremely nervous, though he hoped the feeling wasn't being broadcast to her.

Rabbit blinked in surprise as the male landed in front of her an gathered all her papers up sitting them down in front of her. She slowly reached out and picked them up tucking them back in the brown folder. "Thank you." She said softly looking him up and down. Noticing the way he fidgeted every few seconds. Which lead her to believe he was either nervous or had nervous system damage. From the way he had landed she believed it was the a fore mentioned.
This male was strange, nice, but strange. He seemed to not want to be around her which made her curious but at the same time want to leave him be. In the back of her mind Velvet perked up pulling herself forward to look at the pretty male. While Q simply noted he wasn't a threat and there for not worth her attention. Rabbit sat still being the one in control of the body and curled her tail around herself trying to seem as intimidating as possible.
"Are you alright sir? You seem a bit on edge. Is there something I should be afraid of around here?" She asked her voice soft and gentle as if talking to a frightened child. Which he wasn't clearly, but he was frightened or perhaps just nervous? Either was something was wrong and Rabbit did not in the least little bit want to startle the male. That could lead to unwanted reactions and she didn't want to get herself in trouble. All she wanted was to be pointed in the direction of home. Perhaps that wasn't strictly true. He was interesting and she wanted to know why he was so nervous and timid. She wanted to get in his head and figured it out, but that was probably because she enjoyed doing that. Her want to help people with their insecurities and mental instabilities being a predominate part of why she had taken on being a physiologist.
So maybe she could help him just a little bit. At the very least she could try. He seemed like he really needed some attention.

"You're welcome," Jas'cera nodded, his voice gruff. His ears flicked back against his skull, his tail lashing, before he turned and attempted to walk off. Females were not to be trusted. At least, they weren't in his mind. That's why he liked males. He grimaced, his wings fluttering uncomfortably, as he though. He wanted to find a nice male--one that would protect him and love him and not want to lose him--to settle down with. That thought brought a small smile to his lips.
He'd taken about five or six steps when her emotions finally hit him. There was interest, two different kinds, flippancy, and curiosity. He stopped, his ears curving back to pick up any sound she made. He was sure those feelings were coming from her. But... why were there so many different ones? It was like she was three different people. He frowned, not entirely getting it. After a moment of standing there, he slowly turned to face her again. The way she was sitting--her spine erect, her tail curled around herself, that serious look on her face--it made him want to laugh. She saw him as a threat. He rolled his eyes, flaring his wings in a show. If she knew he was an empath, then she wouldn't think such silly things. He couldn't harm her without harming himself in some way, form, or fashion.
"Yes, I'm fine, thank you," he replied curtly, his tone slightly clipped. "And no, there is nothing out here that is out of the ordinary. Not to say, of course, that you shouldn't fear the ordinary." His voice was the complete opposite of hers, there was no gentle softness in his voice, only razor sharp edges. He clearly had no wish to be here. No. That's not right. It's not the place I have a problem with. His bright eyes landed on her, narrowing slightly.
His mental barriers were getting weaker by the second. He wasn't used to having to hold them so fiercely. Laps of nervousness, suspicion, and a tinge of fear seeped through the cracks, spearing out in search of something to cling to. He groaned softly, gritting his teeth as he tightened his hold.

She was careful to watch him. 'He is pretty.' Velvet's cool voice bounced around in their mind. 'Let it go Velvet.' Q's voice replied making Rabbit shake her head. 'We should be his friend.' Velvet stated again and Rabbit had to stop herself from facepawing. She shook his head again snapping herself back into the outside world.
"You just seem nervous, and perhaps a bit fearful... and defensive." She commented keeping her distance from him. It was more for his benefit then for hers. While she wasn't a huge fan of touching people, she didn't mind it. Yet he seemed obviously displeased by her presence. He also seemed distressed about many other things and this worried her as well. As a doctor she couldn't walk away and let this male potentially hurt himself.
"What is ordinary exactly? Is there any such thing really? People are always saying this is ordinary. Yet, with so many people saying it about so many different things..." She shook her head a bit. "So many different forms of ordinary... I think its all just ones perception of what ordinary should be. Because to you this may be ordinary to you see a yellow bird with pink wings might be ordinary, yet to me that could be very strange indeed." She smiled a bit having gone off on her own musing tangit.
"Though either way, I do not fear the ordinary. Rather I learn to accept and eventually embrace it. Much the same way I am with the abnormal and many other things. Don't fear what you don't understand. Rather learn from it, come to understand it and make it a part of you. But that is just my thoughts on the matter. Not that they mean anything to you." She said with a soft smile and nod of her head.
