User ImageIt was raining. Unlike the last time he'd been caught in such a storm, Hak wasn't so lucky this time. Dripping and miserable, he mused over if the lioness he'd met in the dark, one he'd never seen, but talked with through the storm, had felt any better than he after getting what she wanted. His revenge had left him an emotional wreck, wondering if he could ever go back to who he used to b before anger and hurt had turned him into something else entirely.

He shivered. It really was cold in the rain. A ways ahead though appeared his salvation. Not a cave as before, but a strand of trees. He slogged towards it, sighing with relief as he ducked under the low branches. It wasn't a perfect roof, and spare drops still pit-a-patted off his back even as he shook off most of the water. It was bearable though, and as good a place as any to wait the rain out.

Unfortunately this took his mind off the rain an being cold and wet and let it wander back to his once-home. Ohhh how he missed his dear mate. Her loss had hurt most of all. If he'd had his revenge and she'd come running back to him at the end he felt he could have been well again. But she hadn't. She hadn't even waited. How he longed to go back to a better time, when they were together, happy...
