I've noticed this a lot in groups, as I play both Horde and Alliance. I'm not saying that this applies to everyone, but I'm curious to know if anyone else has experienced these players like I have.

I tend to run into a lot of male Draenei that are either completely ignorant of their class and/or how a computer works, or are extremely rude and seem to know what they are doing.

I run into really really nice female Gnomes, or extremely rude and pushy male ones. Same for humans.

A lot of Blood Elves I run into think they know everything there is to know about the game and clearly don't, or they are very good at what they do. These are usually the tanks that know what they are doing.

Orcs don't talk. Neither do Dwarves.

Night Elves either type properly or extremely terribly, and are snobbish/angry respectively. Occasionally some are nice or just plain clueless.

Discussion topic: Have any of you ever run into people like this so much that you automatically predict how they will act completely based on the race and gender of their character? Do you have any of your own that you'd like to share?

Lol this is funny because, first of all I agree on most of these points, or I guess I should say personality traits that go along with the races but also one of my WoW buddies of the last few years has recently told me I am the epitome of what a night elf is. Bouncy I guess, I dunno. Its just funny you say this stuff, haha. Love it!

All in all I totally agree, I have found what you say to be true...orcs and dwarves never talk! So true! Male humans are jerks as are male gnomes. Spot on!

Most girls play Blood Elves.. or Trolls with pink hair. XD

There are a lot of dumb Undead... or at least on my server!

Other then that.. haven't really noticed anything else.. OH Hunters are automatically called stupid.. which is weird because most Hunters I've raided with have pulled at LEAST 5k DPS.

I think most people perceive them to be this way because of how their character looks and imagine what they are typing out coming out of the toon's mouth. Perhaps not consciously, but I think most people do this.

Like you said, this doesn't apply to everyone, but most everyone I play with rolls at least one of each race. There are some that love a particular race and roll every class the same race, but much less so than those who diversify their characters.

Though no, I haven't really seen much of a similarity between the same race and personality for the exception of male orcs and it happens to be the opposite of what you have come across. Most male orcs that I've met leveling up seem to always want to team up with someone and then take them for a ride. Just use them as much as they can and they're not shy about it at all. It doesn't seem that way with male orcs at higher levels, so I'm guessing it may have just been my luck or a coincidence, but about 40/50 male orcs I've met at lower levels have been that way.

About Hunters, after rolling one I can see why people expect them to be "stupid". In early levels hunters are way OP IMO. I can kill crap really fast and can take on several mobs at the same time and while solo questing feel like a pretty damn good tank even though my pet is taking most of the damage. After queuing in dungeon for the first time, the tank was going at a pace I was not used to at that level which was somewhat slow. I myself was tempted to pull a mob or two and take them down while the pally tank was mana'ing up or being afk for a min. I obviously didn't since being a healer on my other toons I get annoyed when non-tanks pull mobs and I flat out refuse to heal them if I am not SURE they can handle it, especially since other than dps they don't have many agro holding spells.

Anyways, I have noticed a bunch more "Huntards" at lower levels than I have at higher levels and usually those at higher levels weren't cocky tank wannabe's, but just screw ups who accidentally auto-shot a mob and pulled it or came into the instance forgetting to put their pet on defensive/passive.

There may be some correlations between personality and initial race choice, but I honestly haven't seen it.

I admit, the alt I made on Jubei'thos is one of those blood elves who know very much what they are doing. This is because she is my second mage.

I tend to roll every character draenei female that I can. I like the 1% hit aura.

I never thought of hunters that way. The highest I ever got a hunter of my own was 21, and I was absolutely bored with it. sad The ease of playing one just did not grab my attention for very long.

As a player who has nothing but healers and tanks, I'm pretty okay with healing somebody through something if I know I can heal them through it. As a tank I'll rush in as soon as I have the mana or rage to do it and save them. I don't just let people die all the time unless they did something absolutely retarded to deserve it, like deny whatever it was they did to cause them to die in the first place. Sometimes you just can't save them in certain situations.

At lower levels I have seen orcs just use people for whatever they need, and I've seen lowbie dwarves do it too. I don't know what it is about burly stout guys but they're either quiet and do their job or they just get free rides through crap all the time. sad

I'm somewhat of a stickler so I don't like saving people's butt's when they're doing something they're not suppose to (dps pulling mobs) unless it was done in a smart way to help run the instance faster and was something easily manageable.

I normally give them a scare by waiting to heal them and let their life get low. Then I suggest they let the tank pull mobs since I will be healing him/her and he/she knows what she can handle.

If they keep doing it, THEN I let them die.

So you play female orcs so you can stare at their butts?

>_>

And as there are so few female orcs, I must say it's obvious not many agree with you.

Yes. Yes, I do.

Also because I just like their general body type and their quotes.

I have a couple hunters, a warlock, a shaman, and a Death Knight.

Strong women are underappreciated.
