Yin landed with a dull thud in the dirt, a small cloud floating up to meet her. She shook the brown dust out of her black and white pelt, then stepped out of the dirt into some grass. There was a lake nearby, the breeze was gentle...it was peaceful here.
Except, of course, that Yang had gotten caught in the trees and was tumbling loudly down to the ground. Honestly, it'd not like they had started flying yesterday. Mom and Daddy had given them very extensive flying lessons before they made this trip.
Finally the sound of snapping branches came to an end, and Yang landed belly first with a thump. Yin shook her head goodnatuedly; sometimes, her brother was more like Daddy than he knew.
"Get over here, goofus. We didn't come all this way to just stumble around like clutzes." No, they were here to explore! They'd spent most of their lives with their parents and the other foxes at Hometree. She wanted to meet others, to see what was beyond their forest. "Shut up," Yang chuffed, not seriously upset at his sister. He picked himself up and shook the leaves from his fall out of his fur, making a face when a bird's nest fell out of his tail. Ugh, sometimes he was just so clumsy. That tree came out of nowhere!
After making sure all his limbs were in place, Yang padded over to his sister and looked around. "'S different than home, sure, but it's not like superspeeshul amazing, Yin." Why'd she make them land here? Home had trees (that was an understatement) and lakes and stuff, just like this. They shoulda gone to the mountains, or the beach! One of the places Dad told them stories about. Somewhere interesting.
"I'm bored," he yawned. "There's no one here, Yin." He stretched again, then called out loudly: "Anyone here? Helllloo?"
Psh. He felt like talking to strangers. Naomi looked over her shoulder for the umpteenth time. Still no one. Good.
The new adult had left Bateau as soon as she could sneak away. It was home and all, but things were just....nuts. She and her siblings and cousins had all been accidents, and the family was still scrambling to keep up. It didn't help that Uncle Mortimer kept staring out at the waves and Aunt Nadia was trying to play leader all while secretly resenting Daddy and Aunt Sika for having kits.
Ugh. Things were so dramatic, and the Elder was missing? There was just too much going on there and she was tired of being lost in the chaos. She was gonna meet others and make friends and come go back home later when things were calm. Then she could tell the others stories about her adventures.
The blue vixen grinned to herself at the thought. Ha, then she'd be the cool one. Not her brothers and their whole...male thing.
Now to just meet some people! She heard a voice calling out a distance away, but she'd head there later. Could be a trap, after all. She wanted to meet people on her own.
...So it'd be cool if they showed up.

Kina sighed sadly as she looked at her reflection in a small pond. She looked sad and it was true. She had been on her own for most of her life, separated from her parents when she was young. She figured once she was old enough she would set out on a journey to find them. So far it wasn't going vary well.
She looked away as she flicked her tail. Traveling alone sucked. She had no one to talk to or play with. Well ok... not totally true. The frogs near the pond had proved some form of entertainment, watching them hop away as she tried to catch them. Hitoru ran through the trees looking back. He had had an unfortunate run in with a rather nasty fox. He didn't understand what made it so angry. All he wanted was to shair a meal. Ok well he didn't really ask. He kinda just saw the fish there an took it. How was he suppose to know it belonged to someone?
He jumped over a small log and landed. It was rather tiring to run so he stopped and listened, perking up his ears. Nothing... the fox must have given up chasing him at some point.
"Phew... Well that sucked... not only did i have to run for my life... I lost a perfectly good fish too..." he pouted as he closed his eyes and turned to walk off. Though what he failed to notice was the small drop before him. As he stepped down his front paw slipped and he went tumbling down the small hill and went rolling into something. Something warm, fluffy and apparently blue.

((Hitoru would make pretty kids with Mortimer razz ))
Malachite flew in a lazy circle overhead, his ears twitched toward the earth to make sure his siblings didn't get too far behind. Little Daddy had made him promise to watch his siblings, because they wanted to explore. Ugh. Joyous rapture.
As he and Big Daddy were the only 'Daeva's in the family, Big Daddy at least sort of got why he had been reluctant, but Little Daddy always got his way with Big Daddy. Ugh.
Shaking his head when one of the girls called up to him, Malachite dove lazily and landed with a graceful, nearsilent thump...right next to two 'Phims. This was just great.
"What?" Malachite said grumblingly to Zoicite, who had been the one to call her. She was at his side, smiling broadly at the other winged creatures. She wanted to make friends.
This was just fantastic. Shaking his head as he decided that he prrooobably couldn't take on two 'Phims at once, even for his sisters, Malachite wandered away from them, only to internally curse when yet another vixen appeared out of nowhere. She was purple and light blue with speckles all over, but nothing that really caught his eye.
So, he didn't talk to her; she looked kind of sad, but Malachite didn't care enough to try to cheer her up or to try to depress her more (which, if she tried to jump off a cliff after, would only be slightly amusing).
He just shook his head and stood in the shade of a nearby tree, keeping his eyes trained on his two sisters as they made their way over to the 'Phims.
Stupid exploring.
"Hi!" Chirped Zoicite after rolling her eyes at her big, winged brother. "That was Malachite, and he's just boring. Sorry. What's your name? I'm Zoicite." Zoicite offered the two of them a grin; Big Daddy had told them when they were little that 'Phims were happy the same as 'Daevas could be mean, so if they ever met one, try to be nice first.
Stupid Mal had forgotten that, apparently.
"Beeeryl, c'mon, don't do that," Zoicite whined as her sister started to move forward to sniff them cautiously. What, did she think they were carrying poison or something? Honestly, the babiest sister ever was suuuch a baby.
So Zoicite grabbed Beryl's tail in her mouth and tugged her back sharply, ignoring the little yelp that escaped her sister's mouth.
"Sorry again! What're your names?" Zoicite asked, tilting her bicolored head curiously at them. They were black and white...maybe their parents had named them something really cool and not-matching or cliche at all, like her parents had NOT done. Chuffing internally, Zoicite looked between them again. How lucky they were to have wings like that.
Beryl glowered at her sister poisonously as she pulled her back; that HURT, damnit. Flicking her tail in annoyance as she started to plot how to get her mean dumb sister back, Beryl reluctantly looked back at the big foxes.
Little Daddy had always said to be careful of strangers...what if they smelled like something bad, or something? Or what if there were a whole bunch of them, just waiting to have normal-fox soup for dinner?
Beryl glanced over her shoulder at Malachite, half-wondering if he could protect them...or even if he would.
Probably not.

'Well, this is just depressing...'
The black, white, and orange 'Phim's head fell to his paws, laying in a comfortable position. He had just been examining his reflection in the lake before him. He had come to hate it. At first, having extremely long claws, a canine poking out of his mouth, and a rather malevolent appearance did not seem all too bad. Now he hated it. Even though he wasn't a 'Daeva, many seemed to frightened of him based on his appearance, though he found himself to be a nicer fox than what he appeared to be.
Riku stood up and yawned, flexing his claws. He heard voices, many voices. A curious look crossed his visage as he turned around to go investigate the source of these voices.
In a few minutes, he managed to find two 'Phims and a few other foxes gathered together in the forest. He looked around, orange eyes examining the others. He bowed his head to the others. "Good afternoon."

"Oof!" Out of nowhere, Naomi found herself flat on her stomach, having been crashed into by some other animal. Annoyed, she stood up and shook out her fur, then looked down at the offender. He was another Modiphim, and a very clumsy one.
"Yeesh, couldja watch where you're goin'?" Naomi said with a shake of her head.
Apparently Yang's call had worked; suddenly there were four foxes nearby, including another Phim and a Daeva. The Daeva hardly ruffled her feathers; Daddy had spent a lot of his youth with Ignacio and Horatio, so she knew all about their strange tempers. Instead of focusing on the Daeva, Yin silently worked out with her brother how they would handle all the knew foxes.
She turned to address the other Modiphim. He was interesting to loo kat, with larger than average claws, a canine jutting out over his lip, and hair unlike that of other males she'd met. Still, his unique appearance didn't trouble Yin. Nothing much could upset her, and she thought different were interesting.
"Hi there," she replied with a smile. "My name's Yin, and this is my brother Yang. What's your name?"
Yang was an expert at silent communication with his sister. He let her handle their fellow Modiphim, and he turned to the two normal girls.
"Hello," he said with a charming smile, having picked up Dad's nature when it came to meeting new people. "Your brother doesn't bother us, we know other Daevas," he said with a light laugh. "It's nice to meet you. My name's Yang, and she's my sister Yin. We were just flying around for kicks."
He looked at Beryl and offered an easy smile. "Don't worry, we won't hurtcha," he laughed. "We just wanted to meet some others."

"Mmmm..." Hitoru groaned as he lay sprawled on the ground. "Ow..." His ears twitched as he heard the voice of an unfamiliar Modi. He slowly opened his eyes and looked up at the rather annoyed female. Blushing he quickly got up and shook the dirt from his fur.
"Oh um... sorry... about that..." he didn't mean to tumble into her. "Are you ok? I... I didn't hurt you did i?" That was the last thing he wanted, was to find out he accidentally injured someone after tumbling down a hill.
Kina's ears suddenly twitched at the sound of many voices. The once quiet area was now filled with chatter. "I wonder what's going on..." She looked over toward where the voices were coming from and spotted a blue and white 'Daeva walking a little ways away.
She had never seen a 'Daeva before but she had heard stories. She couldn't help stair at the 'Daeva as it took up a spot in the shade of a tree. His giant blue wings were amazing along with the marking along his fur. Her tail wagged lightly as she debated weather or not to walk over.
