Riya, you... are slow!

Riya laughed softly as the young wolf hesitated in finding the correct verb. Despite having bonded only a few days ago, she had already become quite accustomed to having Stardust prod her mind that she hardly even noticed the alien presence anymore. If anything, she couldn't imagine what it had felt like before all this happened. Who would have thought that she would have been so honored as to have been chosen by a wolf?

Why not? Stardust butted into her rider's thoughts, likewise rubbing her head against the woman's legs affectionately. The wolf growled softly in fondness when Riya reached down to scratch her ears. Only you.. are.. right for me. Stardust rumbled self-satisfactorily at having strung the sentence together correctly. Even she knew that she was learning fast for a wolf -- none of her siblings couldn't even use proper grammar yet (most of them didn't even know what grammar was, those silly things).

"Yes, yes, as you have told me many times," Riya responded fondly. One last scratch before she straightened up, readjusting the weight of the small duffel bag on her shoulders before looking around. "Now help me find our barracks... I'm confused by the arrangement. You'd think everything would be in numerical order," she huffed softly to herself as she continued to walk through the row. Or maybe the nerves were getting to her and she had all the numbers mixed up in her head. 4 came after 2, right?

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, recited Stardust proudly as she trotted ahead, looking from door to door as she also tried to find the right number. Maybe they were in the wrong row, because she could almost see the Fort's wall at the end of the aisle. Next row?

Riya huffed again, stopping in her tracks to throw her hands onto her hips. "For the love of Eve, how difficult is it to find a barrack?" No doubt she looked like such a fool to passing residents, but she was far too stubborn (and proud) to ask for help. After all, her first day here and she couldn't even find her residence? How embarassing. At least she wasn't acting like a complete fool in front of the Captain or Lieutenant... or worse, her patron.

Alexis sighed, her new pup trotting along side her. 'We're in Barracks 5, Amethyst… So it… Should be this way…' She thought, scanning the numbers on each of the housing buildings, looking for the one with the number five printed on it's side.

AmethystWind panted as he walked, simply miming what his new partner said in her mind, unable to comprehend what she meant. 'Fie!' Well, perhaps he tried to mimic the words. He hadn't quite figured out how to say the hard consonant sounds yet, either. It didn't matter to him though, as he was panting and grinning the whole time.

Alexis smiled slightly. She had to admit, it might be a bit harder to concentrate at the fort with such a cute baby wolf at her side, especially when she heard it trying to repeat every word it heard - kind of like a parrot. Only, parrots could mimic perfectly, and AmethystWind… Well, not so much. She tore her eyes away from one of the houses to look forward, only to have her gaze land on another girl and her wolf. 'Hmm… I wonder who that is…' She thought to herself as she walked towards who she had to assume was a fellow fort-mate.

Amethyst's grin simply grew as he saw the other wolf infront of him. 'Play!' He thought happily as he quickly sprinted up to the female wolf, lowering the front of his body and wagging his tail playfully. He began moving side to side, trying to get the wolf to play with him.

'Ammy! Ammy, get back here!' Alexis thought to her wolf before chasing it to the other pair. "I'm so sorry about Amethyst." She said truthfully, shooting a disappointed look at her wolf. Her eyes wandered for only a moment before she noticed that the girl was standing in front of Alexis's 'house' or 'dorm.' "Oh! This looks like my room." She said, smiling.

Amethyst's head tilted at Alexis is she appeared… Well, Amethyst had no idea what emotion she was displaying, all he knew was that something changed, but he didn't let it bother him too long, as he almost immediately went back to trying to play with the blue wolf, much to Alexis's dismay.

Stardust lazily folded her ears back as she continued to walk ahead of her rider, who she noticed (but didn't really care) had stopped in her tracks to say something. The young wolf was far too engrossed in reading the numbers on the barrack doors, becoming prouder and prouder of herself as she managed to identify each number correctly (or so she assumed). However, it wasn't long before the scent of another wolf in the air caught her attention, and Stardust immediately whipped her head in the pair's direction, ears erect and nose sniffing fervently.

Meanwhile, Riya had become so frustrated that she was staring a hole into the paper in her hands, which was supposed to be a map of the Fort. Yet for some reason, she couldn't understand it, and she'd always been good with visuals and directions. Curse the idiotic map maker who was trying to confuse her with all the colors!

Her attention was quickly averted, however, when a blur of violet passed the corner of her eyes. Riya glanced up to see a young wolf approach Stardust in the most playful manner, and she couldn't help but laugh softly. The words that followed had her turning toward the voice, and Riya simply smiled. "Don't worry about it, puppies will be puppies."

Riya followed the girl's gaze to the barrack door in front of her. "Oh, well, that makes one of us that's found our barracks," she answered with a laugh. "I can't seem to find mine, number 22?" Glancing back down at the paper in her hands, she sighed before looking up again with a smile. "Oh, I'm Riya, by the way..." she paused with a slight frown, then continued, "we haven't met before, have we? You'll have to excuse me, I have a hard time remembering people's faces." Riya had a feeling she'd seen the other apprentice around in the Academy at least once or twice, but she'd kept mostly to her small click of friends (none of whom had bonded, unfortunately), that she'd hardly recognized anyone else. On retrospect, maybe she should've broadened her circle of friends.

Stardust had watched with anticipation as the other pup approached, standing tall with her tail swaying back and forth in slight amusement. She considered whether or not to play with the young male, but a quick glance towards Riya showed that the woman was making friends with the other girl, and so she decided this wolf must be nice as well.

Mirroring the other wolf's antics, Stardust crouched low before releasing a single bark at the violet wolf. Her tail wagged in the air, watching him jump from side to side for a brief moment before darting forward. She pounced forward, reaching towards his leg in an attempt to playfully tug at a paw.

Alexis laughed awkwardly, almost in an embarrassed manner. She had always thought about the first peer she had that met her as well as her bonded wolf, and quite frankly… Her wolf running up and antagonizing the other's wolf was no where in the image. At least the other White Shadow….er… didn't seem to mind all that much. "Ah, yes I suppose you're right." She agreed before tossing AmethystWind another glance.

Amethyst couldn't help but growl playfully as the light blue wolf finally began playing with him. It wasn't hard for her to hit his paw, but he continued panting happily before extending a paw back at her, trying to hit her face. 'Play!' He thought excitedly again. It seemed that would be the only word he would apply correctly for a while.

Alexis sighed, looking away from Ammy, 'Yeah, yeah, Ammy play.' She thought sarcastically. "Oh! My name is Alexis. I don't think we've met. But uhhhhh… Do you maybe want some help finding your barracks?" She offered casually. It wasn't like she had anything better to do - she had found her barracks quicker than she expected.

An apprentice was running around, searching for someone, or something. Oh come on! Just because Hailwing is pregnant doesn’t mean you can slack and just pad away to where ever you want too! she thought, frustrated as she knew her wolf could hear all these thoughts. For once, just one time, could he be serious about his training? After all, she wasn’t exactly keen on dying on her first battle when they become full fledged Privates. Hair bouncing ever so softly as she ran between barracks, the annoyed teenager attempted one more call. FlameFrost! When she got no reply, the ocean blue eyed female looked around, spotting two other females.

“Um, excuse me. But you wouldn’t have happened to have seen a red and white wolf with topaz eyes would either of you?” she asked, soft eyes staring at them. Peering at each of them carefully, Emi noted the fact that one of them was about a full inch taller than her, while the other girl was shorter then her by two inches. Both of them were probably new to the fort as she had never seen either of them around before the day. “Excuse me if this sounds rude, but are you two part of the group of new apprentices?” She had only caught bits and pieces about if there were going to be new apprentices, but it seemed like those fragments of information was right.

Meanwhile, mere feets away, hid a blood red wolf in the shadows of barracks five and six. His piercing eyes watched the female humans first before turning to the new adolescents. One was a sparkling blue, the other a soft purple. Still, Flame felt that waiting to see if anyone could pick him out would be fun to see.

Riya smiled again, in what a few would describe as possible relief, as she had been afraid she wouldn't be able to fit into the Fort-life. Sure, she'd been raised in White Shadow, but the wolfriders had always seemed to be on another level from those regular Fort residents. However, it was definitely nice to make (what she hoped was) a new friend that was as new to the entire scene as herself.

"Help would be very much appreciated!" she replied honestly. Riya rarely ever asked for help, but she certainly wasn't one to turn it down. "Oh, and please don't be offended if I forget your name or even don't recognize you tomorrow. Like I said, I'm horrible with names and faces," she added with a sheepish smile.

Stardust was glad that her rider was befriending another human, as she had felt the insecurity from the woman when they first arrived in the Fort. So for now, she could relax and play with her new playmate, who she decided she liked.

A paw landed softly on top of her nose, and she growled playfully before crouching down, belly touching the ground as she crawled quickly forward. Stardust snapped playfully at the male pup's chest, tail still wagging happily as she attempted to engage her playmate in a little bit of a wrestling match.

Riya stole a quick glance at the two wolf pups at hearing their playful growls, a small smile playing on her lips as she always loved to see puppies play. But her attention was taken away from the pair at the sound of yet another new voice. "Uh... no, I don't believe I've seen a wolf by the description. Sorry," Riya responded with an apologetic expression at the newcomer. But she laughed at the next inquiry from the young woman.

"Well, I did arrive less than an hour ago... and I'm currently lost, I have to admit. Can't seem to find my barracks..." Riya glanced back down at the useless map in her hands. "I wish they'd label barrack numbers on this thing."

With a startle Alexis looked at the third girl that had joined the group. A small frown crossed her face as she heard that the girl was looking for her wolf, "Sorry, no. I haven't seen anyone or any wolf around here except for them." She explained. She knew that Ammy must have heard how worried she was that he would go off and run away just to mess with her, but she doubted he understood how he was feeling. After all, the only word he knew was 'play.'

Amethyst continued to growl playfully, getting bitten by the female wolf and retaliating by trying to fall onto her back. It didn't work as he planned, seeing as he rolled a bit and landed on his back next to her. He tilted his head like a helpless turtle before finally flipping back over and taking a n** at her ear.

”Grr, that wolf!” Although Emi’s voice sounded angry, her eyes were big with worry. Flame was usually looking out for her, but that didn’t mean he didn’t know how to get himself in some tight situations. Ruffling her hair gently, the female decided to resign with a sigh. “Well, thanks anyways.” Peering at the map, she looked up apoligeticly towards the new comer. “Makes me glad I had my Patron help me find my barrack when I first come. I can- There you are!” The sight of bright golden eyes cut the apprentice in midsentence. Dashing at the male wolf, she slung her arms around his neck.

The wolf let his laugh ring throughout his bonded’s head. Really, she was pretty smart, but she could also be pretty clueless, as even her Patron had picked up on that. Sorry about that, Emi. Just thought I’d have some fun before anymore training since Hailwing seems to be a lot easier to anger now a days, he apologized to her. Stepping out of the shadows of the barracks, the wolf was an impressive sight to behold. Standing at nearly 17.7hh, the male wolf was nearing his final stage of physical growth, but he didn’t mind. He was quite happy with his height. Asides from his height, he had striking topaz eyes that twinkled in the light, and sleek fir that look like fire or blood had dripped over what might have once been a snow white body, and the markings upon his hind legs and under his eyes, mix in the heart shaped mark on his chest, and it was no wonder that Emi was super proud of her bonded.

Turning his head, he watched the two new adolescents, chuckling lightly before padding over to the females. Emi herself still latched on to his neck, causing him to bend to the side a bit so her feet would touch the ground, and she would be allowed to walk. Okay, you’re going to need to let go now, FlameFrost told his rider, who reluctantly unlatched herself. He then settled himself, lying down so not to tower over the humans.

Emi in turn fixed her tussled uniform before returning her attention to her new acquaintances. “Sorry, you two, but after searching for this wolf for what seems like forever, seeing his eyes was a really relieving thing,” she explained sheepishly. “Um, anyways, this is my bonded, FlameFrost. Isn’t he so cool looking!” the teenager squealed happily as she hugged her wolf. “So back to what I was saying earlier, I can help you find your barrack. Being her for a while certainly helps,” she said with a laugh.

((Hallo Starr!
Don't worry Lin! You can do it! -cheers- ))

Riya smiled lightly at the older apprentice's frustration, though she herself was still in that honeymooon stage where she was still absolutely in love with Stardust so the young wolf could do no wrong -- yet. Turning her head, Riya found herself looking at quite the handsome wolf, tall and somewhat daunting but majestic at the same time. She vaguely wondered if Stardust would turn out the same, and a quick look at the young wolf told her that her bonded would probably grow up to be a sleek beauty.

"Yes, he's very... cool," Riya repeated with a laugh, before waving her hand towards the playing adolescents, "The little blue one there is Stardust." The sudden thought of puppies between FlameFrost and Stardust crossed her mind, and Riya had the inkling that their offspring would be adorable. On the same note, Stardust and the little purple one would have cute puppies too...

Puppies? Stardust inquired as she noticed the images passing through Riya's mind, before deciding that it was better not to ask -- humans were so strange. She noticed the arrival of the older wolf, but he didn't seem very interested in their playing, so she ignored him for the moment.

Stardust watched with amusement as Amethyst rolled over and landed next to her, and she growled playfully at him when he nipped her ear. Feeling lazy, she lay down and rolled onto her back, before reaching up to try and snag his neck fur, hoping to entice him to wrestle with her.

"Another person to help me find my barracks would be great," Riya admitted with an appreciate smile to Emi, before titling her head towards Alexis playfully. "I already found her barrack for her, it seems," she chuckled. Of course it was her luck that she'd found another apprentice's barrack and not her own. The blessing, it seemed, would be that it gave her quite a good opportunity to make friends.

[OoC: Sorry for the late reply, been busy with work. >< And fail in last post, mixed up the font colors for Riya and Stardust, lol. Btw catter, measurement in HH only goes up to .3 (technically .4, but that would be the next number, ie 17.4 hh = 18 hh). HH is Hand Height, 4 inches per Hand, thus .1 = 1 inch... I think? Someone correct me if I'm wrong. o.O]
