Alright, here's what's been going down.
A couple of our members had a bit of a disagreement about a week ago, and as a result iCamo (Katie) decided to re-quit Gaia. I'm afraid that I overreacted to the problem (in true Becca style) and was of absolutely no help to anyone (also as usual).
For the last year I have been contemplating leaving Gaia, and waffling back and forth between wanting out and feeling like there was no way I could ever truly leave. A lot has happened since February 2009, and I think I am at the point where I could feasibly say "goodbye" without feeling like I was cutting my right arm off.
But before that happens, I'd like to see what I can do to help the situation that has arisen in the year and a half that WAR has been on Gaia. See, I've realized that we made some big mistakes. I might have been willing to take all of the blame on myself, but I don't really think we can blame anyone for anything that's gone down here. Some people want to blame Andrew; some people want to blame me; some people seem to want to blame everyone except themselves; and some people have even gone so far as to blame the Internet itself. I don't want to hear (or read) any more of this blame-shifting nonsense. Yes, we have some issues. No, I can't fix them. Andrew can't fix them, and neither can you. Not alone. Maybe not at all. But we can try.
Some people seem to think that power is everything; "If only I ran the guild, everything would be better. If only someone else would take the lead, everything would be set right." No. Let me break it down for those of you who don't get the picture.
1. Everyone wanted to leave Neo, because it
was getting to be too much of a hassle even
to use the neoboards - everyone was getting
frozen every time they made a post!
2. So some of us took the initiative and found
a website that would allow the War Boarders to
do what we wanted, how we wanted.
3. A WAR guild was set up and everything was going great.
4. Then people started growing up, getting bored
with WAR and coming online (and to the guild)
less and less. And this, I think, is where we went wrong.
5. So a bunch of people got together and started
building up a lot of activities and events to incite
members to become more active. A wonderful idea
in and of itself, but I think it was taken too far and
expectations were raised that could never actually
be reached.
6. Then, when those expectations were disappointed,
those people who had been the only ones to take
initiative got discouraged and gave up.
7. And then (and this is what would make me mad
if I hadn't already come to terms with it) some
people who had been content to sit around and
watch these efforts fall apart decided that now
was the time to voice their opinions on the whole ordeal.
8. Also, some of the people who had been a part of
the original initiative have become further discouraged,
especially lately, when talk is beginning to go
around about bringing back the same ideas and
attempts that sent so many people into discouragement
in the first place.
So this is where we're at. This is where I'm at. I didn't understand why some people were getting so riled up about the events we were holding, and that is because no one was explaining to me that they had concerns. I know some of you were worried that "WAR was becoming something bigger than it was meant to be", but chose to argue against the people who were doing these things, instead of the actions. For a long time I was willing to argue senselessly with people who didn't like what was going on simply because I didn't understand what was happening. The attacks were made against my friends, instead of against what they were doing, so I was content to argue until I was blue in the face for the sake of being loyal. Yes, you guys were right. I admit that. Things should have been done differently, at least on some levels.
But the thing is, we tried to get people to voice their opinions in a sensible way, but most of them waited until it was too late to let the people "in charge" (who were and are only in charge because no one else wanted to be) know what they wanted. Here's your chance. You think things should have been done differently? You think you should have had a say? Do you realize that NOW, right now is the chance for you to have your say? Right now we're in the same place we were when we came to Gaia at first. Right now you've got some older members (like me) who are ready and willing to set things up and then step down. Andrew's even come back for a while. I know I'm not the most popular person out there, but I know my own strengths. I can listen, and I can implement ideas, and you don't have to worry about me wanting to hold on to any undeserved "power". I'm a good go-between, and I'm good at diplomacy. If you have any concerns about the guild, about WAR, if you want to be a moderator, if you have any new ideas (or old ideas, for that matter), then please tell me now, while I still care enough to help you out. If you want to take my place when I high-tail it out of here, for goodness' sake, start putting forth some effort! You're not going to stage a coup on WAR - why bother, when you can spend a couple of weeks or a month proving that you're a good leader and then just have the position handed to you? Seriously.
So stop complaining. If you (any of you!) let this chance pass you by and then come back complaining in a couple of months about how no one ever listens (or listened) to you, then you're a moron. An idiot. Because right here, right now I'm telling you that I want nothing more than to listen to whatever it is you have to say. ((And if you read all of this, I love you. ^^))

You forgot the part where you decided to destroy the original guild I created for you guys.
I'm not asking for an apoligy, I just get miffed about it every once in a while... >.>
Anyway, this really sucks. I don't know a whole lot of you. I was an older WAR boarder who grew up and moved on. I hardly ever even roleplay anymore anyway. I know you guy's are trying to make it more active, but maybe it can't. I'd like to think that it would stick to just the roleplays every once in a while. Maybe we shouldn't have even created a guild, maybe we should just have stuck with a forum topic. Eh, I don't know. If you guys want this to go on, then just remain active in the guild. If you want, I'll try to get on and roleplay more often. We should just do things for ourselves and not for everyone else. Sure, we should advertise every now and then to get a new roleplayer or two, but otherwise it shouldn't matter. WE are WAR. We can help this community survive.
TL;DR Let's just go back to the basics.

As you all may have noticed i have kinda been seen on less and less.
Life hits you fast, to fast for my taste.
But never mind that, Becca is right i'm willing to listen aswell ((However i get little down time during the day..)) so speak your mind me, Becca and Andrew can discuss all of this and see what we can do.

e.e people...All of you, every single last one of you. Worse if your American (Oh yeah I went there...I went there and bought it. Yeah e.e...and they bagged it in plastic) have a tendency to have a craving to place people who you trust and want in power in power(Grindy, Nathan, and Becca) and then when they are in power for a bit (Oh you know you do it, you did it all night long) you start complaining (D< They didn't have my event on time! This event is lame, WAR IS DEAD AND I AM A FRIDGIN HIPPIE MOFO!!!) and if and the slight chance you didn't you thick you are high and mighty (HAHA SUCKERS I WAS RIGHT!!! The world ending 2012 Mofo) and it is getting ridiculous. I would rather watch your people dwindle off and move on in life rather than come back on and harass these people, who but there time and effort into this so you can sit and stare at a screen hating yourself for not being able to quit, for wasting your life on here because you use this War this thing that is still afloat because of these people as a gateway from your life.
If you are one of the few who actually care about these people, about these feelings they have for this place then stay. If You are one of the ones who comes by not loving this place, thinking it a waste of your precious time then get your a** off the computer and do something, I am sick of you and your bashing (Yes Bashing, if you want to make a suggestion THEN MAKE ONE, roll that in your mind for awhile and then let it curdle so I can take you back to the store and return it)
To those of you who are reading this I am Jasmine. I am not one to rant, in fact I feel disgusted with myself to say this. I come to war, I want it to prosper but not at the price for my friends Sanities. If they care enough to put effort into it then let them ENJOY IT!

Edit: The originals are probably tired of seeing WAR brought back. It was fun while it lasted but everything must die eventually. It's WAR's time to die, so let it go.

And ya know...It's funny..you KEEP saying about how those who want this guild to stay alive to do something about it? Well sometime's people try and offer their help but you simply never respond. How do I know this? I am just as guilty as everyone else. I am one of the ignorant Americans selfish and self centered, but by god if you mess with someone I care about I will beat you down so that is why my message was so offensive to you, so I personally apologize if you got the idea that I think myself better than other Americans.
