Hey,
I'm currently working on a book, but I'm not sure on how good it actually is. All my friends and teachers tell me that it's really good and that I should get it published when/if I finish it. But I was wondering if there was someway to post on here in the guild without taking up sixteen page post lol.
Discussion:What kind of stories do people like and why?

I dunno about posting long things on the guild without taking up a lot of space. =/
I try my hand at writing, but I've only got one thing published and that's as a co-author (I wrote maybe 1 chapter or so). It's not really in stores yet either.
What kind of book is it?

I write as well. Nothing published, though -getting- published is one of my life goals.
If you wanna post something, then try getting a writing.com account or fictionpress.com account, or even post it in a DA account, and then just link us.
I personally am a horridly picky reader. I'll read things, but it takes a bit to really catch my interest. I'm a book nazi xD I actually do end up really liking most of what I read, it just takes me a long time to pick something to read.
I get a lot of ideas on what to write, and I start writing, but then stop a few paragraphs in for a new idea that's popped in. Before I wiped my hardrive, I had 23 stories that I'd only gotten 3-4 paragraphs into

Fuzzy Necromancer I dunno about posting long things on the guild without taking up a lot of space. =/ I try my hand at writing, but I've only got one thing published and that's as a co-author (I wrote maybe 1 chapter or so). It's not really in stores yet either. What kind of book is it? I'm not really sute how to explain it. It's a fantasy/adventure kinda thing though. I can tell ya this, the main character kills himeself in the beginning ^_^

I read..hmm.. some science fiction if it isn't insanely complicated, warm and fuzzy romance and mystery. I'll usually read anything that grabs my interest though.
The main character of your story dies in the beginning..that sounds..interesting to say the least.

i write...kind of. i'm actually going for a BA in creative writing, though it seems i never write anymore. gonk right now i'm working on a fictionalization of experiences i've had with a borderline/histrionic friend of mine. truth is freakin' stranger than fiction--i'm pretty much just changing names.

I like to write, I write poetry often and have recently started to write some stories. I want to go to college for journalism.

I write a lot, I like to write poetry and short stories.... I don't have the attention span for a full length story.... xp But I also enjoy reading anything angsty-ish..... plus anything dark or scary, true type events, and funny stories. 3nodding http://poetry.com/Publications/search.asp^link for some poems. 3nodding

I write a lot of short stories but they all occur in this made up world I have. So If I really wanted too I probably could write a full length story but I'm too lazy to do it.
Alot of my writing no one ever sees since I type rather slowly when I'm reading it off a paper.

I used to write a lot more than I do now. I still read an insane amount, and I help critique my sister's stuff for her classes (she's going for her first Master's in Writing (she wants to get 2 more after this one in specialized facets of writing). I love reading all sorts of different stuff - fiction, biography, history, science fiction, fantasy, etc. You name it, I've probably read a book in almost every genre or could at least feign interest in it. xd I used to write a lot of historical fiction, sci-fi, and fantasy (and had a brief spat with poetry during some especially angsty teen years - and I'm not saying that everyone who writes poetry is an angsty teen, btw... biggrin ).

I do know that fictionpress is a great site to upload your stories and whatnot. I have an account on there myself.
I enjoy writing, but I don't write. I have a very short attention span with them. Can't usually get past seven-eight pages before I feel like it's a lost cause. I've been dibble-dabbing and scribbling down some scripts, though.
I like mystery, horror, and fantasy the best but I like to read almost anything. When you do have a place to post/upload your story, I'd really like to read it. smile
