Lenore paces her study, waiting for the others to arrive.

She knows she has to do this, but she needs to tell them. She doesn't want anyone to worry about her more than they absolutely have to. . . .

Rinon is the first to enter. He doesn't say anything as he watches his sister pace the room. Instead, he sits in one of the plush chairs in the study.

He is unsure why he was summoned here, but from the look on Lenore's face, it isn't going to be good.

Ala had been there a while, well just after Lenore had called in the least and eventually just lets her invisibility loose. She's in full dragonic form, wings unfurled and full her tail wrapping loosely around her legs, her eyes still burn the bright emerald green they have since she entered the Nether the first time. Her hands play with a glowing bright green ball of energy as she waits.

Lenore stops her pacing, and offers an almost welcoming smile to Ala.

"I am glad you could make it on such short notice," she says, before resuming her pacing.

It is then that Rinon enters the study, a curious look on his face. "Lenore, Ala," he says, incling his head to each as he says their name, before moving further into the room. He settles into a chair next to Ala, and watches Lenore pace.

"Thank you, as well, Rinon," she says, this time not stopping her pacing.

She remember the last time that Lenore broached the subject of her father with Eirnae. Eirnae almost splintered the wood arms of the chair she was sitting in, and it frightened Lenore at the time. She had never seen anger from Eirnae until that point.

Of course, many things have changed. She has done more terrible things than almost splinter the arms of a chair.

Still, she doesn't think that she would hold up against a plea from Eirnae for her to stay where it is safe. . . . If that is what it comes to. . . .

Lenore finally stops pacing, and plops down in a chair, the one in front of Ala's, Rinon's, and Eirnae's. She looks at Rinon, then Ala, and then back again.

"What I need to say, I want to explain only once. So, we must wait for Eirnae to come. . . ." she says, her voice soft, and serious.

Ala nods though she doesn't sit down "Then wait for Eirnae we shall" she says softly. She looks over at ther friends mate and nods in greeting It seemed too tense to be casual, well not only seemed... but she could cut the tension with a knife ... and smell it.

"No doubt this conversation is going to make some of us ... grumpy," Eirnae's murmurs as she walks into the room with a too casual air about her. She briefly pauses to survey those that she presumes Lenore summoned to this room for the talk she's dreading, her arms crossing underneath her bosom and causing still more folds in the navy blue sweater that she's chosen to don for the occasion. Her long hair is braided up into a loose coif at the nape of her neck, tendrils of dark gold sneaking out to trail over the soft woolen knit of her long sleeved sweater. She holds this pose as long as she studies Alatariel and Ronin, then nods to each before unconciously wiping her palms on the sides of her hip-hugging jeans as she stalks over to where Lenore is seated. She bends down to kiss Lenore's cheek, lingering for a second or so longer than necessary, before shifting over and settling into the only chair left in the room. The non-corporeal black feathered wings that poke out of her hair give a faint flutter as her back rests against the cushion of her seat.

"Future mood or no, I'm here, and I'm listening. Oh, and I promise to be kind to the furniture."

She says the last comment with a wry half grin, it being meant as a small quip to get Lenore to smile. She hates this ominous cloud that has worked its way over them. Like the noose over a doomed man, she feels its shadow over her head and wishes to snap the post that supports it. She idly lifts the heart shaped locket that matches Shina's own and traces the etching of the rose upon its silver surface with her thumb.

Lenore smiles up at Eirnae, and watches as she takes her seat. She does smile, even if it is slightly, over the remark about furniture.

She then clears her throat, and opens her mouth to speak. Then, she closes it. Anyone who knows her very well can tell that she is scared.

She sighs. "My family, and those around me, have dealt with this problem too long. . . ." she starts, looking up, meeting the other's eyes, one by one. "I need to get closer. . . . I need to know what is coming, so I can prepare everyone in Emerald Haven for it." She then meets Eirnae's eyes, firmly. "And, I need to go alone."

She looks down at her folded hands. "Soon, I am going to try and get close to my father. . . . I don't know how, but I am going to try. . . ."

Rinon's stomach sinks like lead. Two of the women he cares about are are marching into the lion's mouth, and there is nothing he can do about it.

He lets out a little sigh, and looks away from Lenore.

Ala blinks "Lenore, I heard you talk about your father the day I told you Tinania was seeing her grandfather! That seems like pretty much a fools errand to go there, to seek out your father, especially alone!" She couldn't help it she wanted to talk sense into her friend "Surely there is a different way without putting yourself in harms way"

The little wings flutter along with Eirnae's heightened heartbeat at Lenore's insistant look in her direction, and the locket is forgotten as her hands come together to interweave her fingers. She doesn't look in Alatariel's direction as she answers the very question that she asked for Lenore, "If there was another option, Lenore would have taken it. Right, mela?"

Then she turns to look to first Alatariel and then Rinon, knowing both of them only briefly since her return, but in that time realizing that they were ones who could be trusted. "This man is not like any other. He has defied death itself more times than I care to count. He has studied our family since its creation, and bided his time till I slipped and drew too many of us togehter."

Her hands tighten slightly as her guilt filters into her voice, her mini-wings continuing their rapid fluttering, their shadowy forms making no sound as they pass through her hair. "To send more than one would raise his suspicions, and in the end he would turn them against one another. I cannot go, at least not in the open, as he knows me and my blade."

Her eyes gain the faintest of wicked gleams as she remembers the feel of Bael'tae gliding into Voldemort's gut and ripping it up and out of him. It is quick to dull as she returns her focal attention to Lenore. "You do plan to keep in touch with us by some means, don't you, Lenore?"

To be honest, Lenore had not meant to keep in touch.

Sighing, she turns to Ala. "There is no alternative, my friend," she says. "There is no way to get to him through his allies. My father would know. I inherited the ability to block my mind, so he cannot penetrate the defenses." She smiles, mirthless, and with a hint of fear. "I will be fine."

When Rinon snorts, Lenore turns her eyes to him. "What?"

"You can't seriously be entertaining the idea of letting her go alone!" Rinon asks Eirnae.

Lenore sighs, and pinches the bridge of her barely-there nose. "Look . . . I will keep in touch. . . ." she looks up, over at Eirnae. "Melamin, I know you have eays of staying out of sight. I cannot stop you, and won't stop you, if you want to follow me. . . . And, you, Ala. I know the same can be said about you, and I won't stop you either. But, you," she says, turning her eyes from Ala to Rinon. "You are not coming."

Rinon crosses his arms over his chest, brow furrowed, and looks out the window.

Ala nodded slowly her brow furrowed and looking like she was concentrating "If you are certai Lenore, you know that man better then any of us combined, I do not wish to loose a friend though..." She stood still and glanced at Eirnae, the woman she had barely met... and Rinon, her friends' husband whom she'd just been starting to get to know

Eirnae arches a brow at Rinon's challenge, her knowing that it was only his concern for Lenore all that kept her from snapping back at him. Inwardly she growls at her gathered anger, swatting it down like a stray cat ripping at her ankle. When did her self control get so thin?

"I trust in Lenore's abilities. More than I suspect she does herself," she finds herself saying before she can stop herself. "She knows that if I suspect she is in the slightest of dangers, I will be there as quickly as I can." Her eyes narrow subtlely as she looks over to Rinon and she says, "Which is faster than most can manage." She forces herself to calm down, leaving her unrighteous ire bubbling beneath the surface. "In any event, Rinon, what Lenore says is true. Alatariel and I will most likely follow. I will not allow Lenore to be hurt." The last is spoken as a promise, more to herself than any other.

She looks up and over to meet the gaze of the draconic woman whose eyes she felt boring into the side of her face. She smiles slightly, nodding once for no reason beyond accknowledging Alatariel's glance.

Lenore stands, and first walks over to Rinon. All she has to tell him is in the look in her eyes. Whatever it is, it has Rinon nodding reluctantly.

Satisfied, for now, Lenore goes to Ala next. "You aren't going to lose a friend," she tells her, firmly. "If he wanted to kill me, he would have done it years ago."

Lenore leaves Eirnae for last. "Love," she starts in elven. "If I know you half as well as I hope I do, I know you are coming, whether I ask you to or not. And, knowing that, I have to ask you to promise me something. . . . No matter how bad it gets when I see him, no matter what he does to me, you can't try to come to my aid. This is something that I need to get through."

Ala reluctantly nods to Lenore though her eyes turn a brighter shade of green "You are right Eirnae, I would follow any of my friends if I felt them in the slightest bit of danger. She truely hoped her friend was making the right choice.

Her attention is held by the draw of amber eyes as she listens to the meaning behind Lenore's words as well as her love's vocalizations. She finds herself nodding much as Rinon did, the motion slow and reluctant. As always, she cannot keep her emotions from shifting her eyes' irises into a confused weave of green hues. Giving in to an instinctual need, she reaches for Lenore, lightly resting fingertips on her fiance's shoulders. Her spoken reply is very soft, words that are meant for Lenore's ears only, "I promise."

She barely shifts her head in Alatariel's direction to accknowledge the fact that she did indeed hear the other woman. Her smile is tight and barely there as she replies in a normal tone of voice, "Then we have something in common."
