HOW TO PULL OFF PARTNERSHIPS
We understand a lot of the time there's an odd number of roleplayers, or users can just fall off the face of the ealrth and desert you. It's kind of hard to get by with this when RPing in series that focus so much on partnerships. Here's how we're gonna compensate.
Going Solo
You and your partner don't have to be attached at the hip. If your partner is on hiatus, we'll try to have some solo missions for you to accomplish. Of course, by "missions", we're not talking "defeat the Kishin" or anything, they'll be baby missions, but it'll give you something to do in the meantime. There may be other instances in which you can tag along with another pair or temporarily team up with another lonely player to do some slightly more complicated missions. If none of those options are up your alley, play hooky and wander around Death City for a bit.
If your partner is missing in action without any warning for five days, you will be allowed a new partner. If your partner's absence is stalling an important thread like a battle, the time limit will be shortened to three days.
If you won't be able to post for a while PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE post how long you plan to be gone in the absences thread.
Be Your Own Partner
There won't always be a perfect, even number (like 8 ) of weapons and meisters. Because of this, you'll be allowed a secondary character to be your partner if need be. This extra character needs its own app which you need to add to your original profile thread in the profile sub-forum. It doesn't need to be as detailed as your main character's application, but we still need to know something about them.
If your IRL partner has been gone for five days, you can create a substitute partner until you can find a new one.
Note: Being your own technician/weapon makes posting much faster and easier, but you won't be allowed to become stronger as fast as those with real partners. It's a trade-off; convenience for power.
Find A Friend
The basic option for lonely weapons and meisters. There is a thread specifically for finding partners, but you can go ahead and poke around the whole guild (though be in character if you're doing this in the RP threads). What would really be cool is if, you know, you invited a friend to the guild. Just saying...
Having an IRL partner will allow you to get stronger with less training than those who play their own partner.
Switching Out
You're allowed to switch your NPC "to a different class" if you found another person to be your partner. We won't pressure you for intricate details of their disappearance.
To switch IRL partners, it either needs to be consensual or your partner needs to be inactive (stalling a mission or thread) for five days before they're switched out.
All the inevitable switching can be attributed to the new Death and his poor organization.
