»Ðαrk Ðαyš«

In a land shrouded with misfortune and struggle, the human race fights for survival against the countless other species that fight for control. Cities destroyed, forests burned, the few that remain in the last cities and towns hire others to protect them from the foul creatures that would sooner have them killed. Some races mean no harm, content with the workings of the world, like the kind shapeshifters of the forest, or the Were-clans that keep to themselves on most occasions. The high council seeks to keep balance between the races, but a shift in power seems to hint at a war, an alliance between the Vampires and Goblins who both detest the human race moreso than any other have rumored to be plotting. Is this just a rumor or is there something more lurking in the shadows, deception, lies, deceit. Who can be trusted? And what side will you take?

Races


Humans
Once the dominate race, now thinned out by the past war. In this time of so called peace they strive to regain control.

-Hunters-
Hunters are the hired hands of the council, humans trained to protect the human population. Some work in groups, others alone, but each is trained to kill the other species, knowing the other races is part of the job description, there are also Handlers who may have a partner of a different race. Some hunters my be gifted, but gifts to humans is rare and using the gift often causes pain, straining the body and mind. Humans were not built to channel magik of such a degree. Some also say that the use of a human's gift causes so much strain that they become sterile, but that is only a rumor.








Elves
A race respected for its knowledge, having lifespans of over 500 years, the Elves tend to keep to themselves and rarely share their knowledge or the world or magik with any of the other races. They live in the forests in huge cities that surpass any human creation.






Bloods
The Bloods, also known as Vampires, are very noble beings. They are very self centered, doing things that only better their race or their cause. They tend to try and hide their human-like emotions, like revenge, jealousy and lust.
Bloods, like their gargoyle cousins are very allergic to the sun, just as weres are allergic to silver, but unlike their Gargoyle cousins they turn to dust and not stone. Blood's diet also consists of human blood, and their saliva contains a venom that when infected, a human will turn into a half-blood. Not human and not vampire. A disgrace among vampire kind and those who create one are often punished. Vampires like to keep their bloodlines clean, the mixing of the species is highly frowned upon in Blood society.





Werewolves
Weres normally keep to themselves, staying in packs of 5 to 20 in the forests and even in a few of the cities. Their saliva also carries a venom that will transform a bitten human into one of them, but unlike the Bloods they don't need humans to survive, although it is their preferred meal, they tend to hunt outside of the cities on other creatures.





Gargoyles
Unlike most myths Gargoyles don't turn to stone during the day and stalk the night, like their cousins the Vampires, Gargoyles are very much allergic to the sun and a stone gargoyle is a dead one. Gargoyles are very passive and tend to just go with the flow, avoiding war and conflict. Their favourite meal are pigeons and other small birds. Not many gargoyles bother to learn English and even fewer humans learn their language. A gargoyle also never breaks its word.



Gremlins
The troublemakers of the world, only about a foot tall, gremlins have a life span of only 8 days and breed like rabbits. They are well known for their sweet tooth and will trade food they don't have to gather themselves for a favour. Because of their basic nature, they know of no things such as lying or deceit. They are quite knowledged with electronics and like to make trouble with machinery.


Goblins
The scum of the world, goblins seek power and to become the dominate race. they are disliked by all other races and are even considered scavengers. Goblins are run by the females, as they are only born once about every 50 births. mating is excruciatingly painful for the female and there are often reports of human rape by Goblins which results in the death of the human. Goblins have naturally curved spines and therefore cannot hide in human society, never being much more than 5 feet tall even without the curve. Although the female's curve is less severe and with contacts to hide their red eyes and lots of work they can occasionally get away with a disguise, but females rarely do their own dirty work.


Bridge Trolls
Trolls are part of the earth, and don't communicate like humans would, but through tremors and the earth. Some of the most famous earthquakes were from warring trolls. Trolls are also blind, but see the earth in a different way. Its very rare for a troll to learn human speech.






The Fey
Pure beings such as nymphs, slyphs, gnomes and faeries. They guard magik making sure balance is maintained, but unknown by many they are pacifists. They are above human emotion and rarely share their knowledge or the location of their home with any other races. Not much is known about the fey, as they tend to keep to themselves.



Shapeshifters
Creatures able to shift from man to beast, usually a peaceful sort, not bothering with war or conflict. Choosing to remain neutral in disputes. Specifics vary from each type of shapeshifter.

High Council

The Council is made up of several species, as they try and seek peace and balance, although some members are in it more for their own gain and the gain of their race for more than any other reason. The Fey, the humans, the Bloods, the Werewolves, the Gargoyles and the Elves all have a seat in the council as they try to ensure a balance is maintained between the races and a war isn't started.
