Welcome to the DSBG Arena
:: Path to the Arena ::
The path to the arena is laid in cobblestone like most of the other paths in the guild. It is lined with marble columns of flawless white stone. These great pillars are carved to depict epic battles. They serve as cylindrical murals... solid form and testement to the history of the art known as combat.
:: Arena Courtyard ::
The courtyard is laid in old grey stone, worn with age and the many feet that have trodden upon them. The walls of the courtyard are roughly 7-8 feet tall with vines and climbing plants growing along them, rooted in the crevices of the stones. Within the courtyard is a beautiful rock garden with a reflection pool and a fountain at it's center. There are stone benches and small stone tables set up about the courtyard so that people may relax here between matches or practice and enjoy a chat or their lunch...
:: Main Hall ::
This is where the front desk is located. Stadium employees register fighters and matches here, or members who just wish to train and use the facilities. Everything gets orchestrated in this room. The Main hall is lavish and looks more like the reception area for a grand hotel or museum than it does the main room of a fighting arena! It's polished marble walls are decorated with tapestries and wall hangings that illustrate fields of battle. They are both bloody and eerily beautiful at the same time. There are a few merchants who set up confectionary and food stands here, so that arena visitors may buy food and drink. In the corners are large potted plants and along the walls are upholstered benches of red fabric. The large room is lit buy a massive chandellier hanging from a domed cieling. There is a series of sky lights that also let natural light in, and the walls are illuminated by wall sconces. This is where villigaers or travellers will gather before a tournament to get snacks and tickets to enter the arena during festivals or special events.
:: Weight Room ::
The weight room houses state of the art exercising equipment. Here members can work on building up body mass, muscle strength/tone, endurance and strength. 8 punching bags are also located in this room. Remember more reps with less weight is a better work out than fewer reps with more weight!
:: Women's Change Room ::
The women's change room has 10 shower stalls and 50 lockers. Locks for lockers can be purchased and registered at the front desk in the Main hall. There are sinks and mirros. This is where people store their belongings and clothes while they train or fight. This is also where the girl's bathrooms are located.
:: Men's Change Room ::
The men's change room has 10 shower stalls and 50 lockers. Locks for lockers can be purchased and registered at the front desk in the Main hall. There are sinks and mirros. This is where people store their belongings and clothes while they train or fight. This is also where the boy's bathrooms are located.
:: Dojo 1 ::
Dojo one is dedicated to Offensive fighting styles. It is equipped with five punching bags, matts for practicing throws on, 15 sets of complete kendo equipment ((The swords and the armoured padding)). Members are allowed to spar in here for training purposes only. This is a classroom, here you study the disciplines and techniques of combat. Weapons are restricted in this room. The only weapons to be tolerated are ones that belong to a traditional martial art.
:: Dojo 2 ::
Dojo one is dedicated to Defensive fighting styles. It is equipped with five punching bags and matts for practicing throws on Members are allowed to spar in here for training purposes only. This is a classroom, here you study the disciplines and techniques of combat. Weapons are restricted in this room. The only weapons to be tolerated are ones that belong to a traditional martial art.
:: Weapon's Storage ::
The weapons storage is located off to the side of the dojo's. It houses 10 of every weapon at any given time. Weapons may be signed out through the front desk for training or combat purposes but they are NEVER to leave the Arena's premises. There are weapons from every fighting style immaginable and all of them are catalogued. If you need ANY type of weapon you can bet you will find it here. ((The picture above depicts just a few of the weapon's the storage room has to offer fighters.))
:: Entrance to the Arena ::
The entance to the Arena is also a columned path. To enter, you must walk beneath two statues that guard it. The statue on the right is a warrior clad in hellish, demonic armour wielding a massive sword. The statue on the left is of an angelic being, clad in heavenly armour... A woman wielding a short sword and shield. The two beings are locked in battle, the demon's sword bearing down on the angel's raised shield in an overhead strike. The statues play a huge role in their symbolism. They represent the epic struggle of Good. vs. Evil... Dark vs. Light... They represent balance. They are sword and shield. Once you pass under them, you can walk around the arena and up into the spectator stands to find a seat.
:: Spectator Stands ::
The stands in the arena, are much like something you'd find in any sports stadium. Bleachers on a staggered incline surround the arena giving anyone who wishes to watch a match or tournament a bird's eye view. Spectators are protected from any stray attacks by magically reinforced, shatter proof glass and a barrier that deflects any magicks gone awry.
:: The Arena ::
The arena itself is a massive structure. The walls are solid for about 5ft, then they are made of magically enhanced, shatter-proof glass that travels all the way to the cieling. It is illumintaed by overhead lighting, but the roof is hinged and mechanically retractable for matches that require flight space. However, there is more than enough room for flight without the roof opened up to the skies. The floor is compacted dirt, and around the perimeter a barrier is laid on the ground and walls. It is a barrier comprised of all the elements, mainly void... that is meshed together like in a metaphysical tight weave. It will absorb and dispose of any magical attacks that get away from the combatants... making even the most heated battles safe to watch.

((Ugh. Time warp, but I want meh elfy present for this <@_@;> 'sides... I may just disbandon the GTB Tourny since it seems to be dead in the water. ))
A woman of elven origins makes her way to one of the arena's box seats. Normally she'd be ringside, ready to cheer her lover on, but heavily 8 months preggy and feeling as big as a baluga... she opted for a little plush comfort this time 'round.
Settling herself into a comfortable position, she flicks on the box's monitor, the stadium cameras already programmed to follow the combatants. The screen would magnify what she herself was watching from overhead, high in the stands.
She knew very little about the man her fiance was to be fighting.... But what she knew proved to provide grounds for an interesting match.
Two Devils.
Who'd come out on top? She pondered, golden eyes watching the entrances, waiting for the men to take the field.

A brisk wind picked up, causing several scattered leaflets advertising some old tournament to swirl around the center of the arena.
However that was not all they covered.
A crouched figure remained knelt there, its whereabouts and entrance unknown, only that the body was there now, having apparently come in with the wind itself.
Rising from his knelt state, a young man appearing to be in his mid-twenties rose up, the poncho that billowed off his shoulders with the dying wind, barely hiding the flamberge that rested across both shoulders. Yellowed eyes widened, even as he shook his hair from side to side.
"Let's get this party started."

A man then entered the arena's center, garbed in a fine modern style suit. The well-dressed man came holding a cigarette to his lips, his jacket billowing to the sides from the apparent wind that had started. Smoke seeped from small crevices found around his mouth and scoured the contours of his chiseled visage.
He appeared to be a mature man, perhaps somewhere in his late twenties to early thirites and not at all in bad shape. He was halfway to the center when a length of embers started to whirl about his right hand that had been resting at his side, the palm open and ready to grip something. The embers blossomed into a small pillar of fire, extending from both ends of his opened fist. The fires grew to over a full six feet in length and then suddenly dispersed, reveiling a lengthy blade of Obsidian.
The Devil observed the other and removed the cig to exhaled a wisp of smoke and nodded his head in approval to his opponents words.
"Alright, neighbour. Let's dance."

"Sorry--"
Reaching over with his left hand, he took full hold of the flamberge with both hands, before sending it swinging from his shoulders, down to the grond in a diagonal slash down to the left.
"--not my type!"
With the force of the swing, the ground itself was impacted, before cracking along and sending a force of wind forward.
When in it's true state, the flames that surrounded the blade are deadly, and multiply the damage of its slash. It can create a vacuum condition when it releases the compressed heat via a rising slash that shewns a great gash into the floor, extending it into the ground and causing dust to be kicked up by the cutting effect. This sends a maximum concussive force of 275 pounds per square inch (sufficient to topple a filled garbage truck at 100 feet).

The airblade sped towards Kain and his best option was to evade to his right. Kain lept his way right of the attack avoiding the deadly compact of wind. Upon Kain's landing he held his blade ready at his left hip, gripped with both hands.
Kain, began hadn't yet enough experience with his opponent to concoct a suitable equation for his destruction, but he could rally a barrier in the mean time. Kain's mind in this plane was dead focused on the manuevers of this Devil, Vahn, while his alterplanar concious contemplated the maths neccessary to deflect physical blows, similar to that which he had just encountered.
Kain's offensive was initiated upon his landing, 3 feet from the growing scar in the arena floor. He charged the young man, a simple attack was planned. A Verticle strike aimed to slide from the tip of Vahn's flamberge and a cut to Vahn's left shoulder.

Yellowed eyes widened in interest even as his opponent closed in, never once making a move to evade, even as the blade came in.
He held his flamberge out, his opponent's blade sliding along and biting throught the poncho to get at the flesh underneath. But that's as far as it would go-- because as soon as Vahn felt the tip of the blade, he would move just enough to make the blow non-lethal.
"Huh."
Scars didn't matter, and bleeding wasn't really a concern for him.
So instead of puncturing straightaway into said shoulder, it would nick the flesh and go cutting around the outside of the shoulder, making a deep gash in the poncho itself, while blood ran free. Which also meant Vahn was twisting in and pushing his right shoulder right against his opponent, while at the same time aiming to grasp the obsidian blade with his bare left hand, clamping down, and trying to keep his opponent in tight quarters (causing his palm to bleed as well from how hard he gripped the blade).
"Why hell~o there."

"Well, that's different," Kain thought. This guy was more kamikaze than he was. Kain's blade was firmly gripped by Vahn, biting into his flesh. Kain, shot him a glance and blew him a smooch before letting go of the hilt with his right hand and reeling around Vahn. Kain's hand unsheathing the wakazashi he held at the small of his back, just under his jacket and above the belt line.
The reeling was to bring Kain and Vahn back-to-back and Kain would drive the hidden blade into his opponents side, an attack that would pierce into his kidneys. The whirling around would cause Kain to put movements and added pressure on Vahn's left hand that clutched the blade. The razor would be twisted by Kain's reel and from the jerky movements of manuevering properly would create a sawing motion on top of the twisting of the blade, opening and slicing deeper into his hand.
The fight was getting Kain excited and lavished in the bead of sweat the ran to his right brow..."so early in the fight?"...the forearms on his jacket were even beginning to become moist.

There was nothing but a guttural grunt in response to the searing pain he felt so suddenly. Even with feeling the tip of the blade pushing, and doing his best to twist to the side and sucking in his gut enough to try to let is slide by, it still punctured.
Whether it was fatal or not was too early to tell, but he wasn't exactly falling dead to the ground.
The blade in his left hand was moving, and skin was cut even more, causing more blood to stain the blade's length. Growling loud and yelling ferally, he hefted the blade even more tightly, and pulled with his shoulder, aiming to send his opponent flying clear across with nothing but brute force, even as blood flew.

High above the crimson splattered ground, golden eyes narrowed in concern. Sierra cursed under her breath as she watched her fiance's skin be rent by the other devil's blade. The blood flacked sands of the arena were stirring dark feelings of desire within her, feelings that she did her best to subdue as she leaned forward on the edge of her seat, delicate hands pressed to the glass. What was her beloved thinking? It wasn't like him to be so haphazard.... she prayed that it was all part of his tactic, but lately she couldn't be sure.
"Be careful ashke..."

The sudden wrenching from Vahn came to a bewilderment to Kain. He was intentionally killing himself and using Kain as the tool. Vahn heaved and Kain held firm his hold on the body embedded wakazashi, the toss causing an added tearing of Vahn's back as Kain flew overhead. The final twisting Kain's sword in Vahn's hand would surely begin to cause severe damage from all the pressure and sawing.
Kain, soared across the arena, landing on his left shoulder. He skidded and skipped across the dusty surface, tumbling once before he stopped himself into a kneeling position. Kain's Odachi had been left behind, for fear of being smashed into the ground by his adversary. In his right hand the small and bloodied weapon remained. Kain, gave two panted breaths and made ready to break out his Naginata, if need be.
The sweating stalled and Kain's face was dry, his clothing again dry and crisp, save for his chest which was now dampening. Kain, was reveling in the smell of iron in the air, it'd been a long time since he smelled the blood of his own kind.

Vahn remained hunched forward, leaving wondering if the body could even be moved anymore.
Blood dripped along the ground, and that's when it started. With a slight crack of his neck, his body was already straightening out, even as he placed his left hand right against his punctured side.
There was a slight hiss, and yellowed eyes narrowed, even as Vahn stared towards his opponet with a grin. "Thanks.."
Removing his hand, and the rest of the poncho from his body, the place where he'd been stabbed was revealed to be nothign but a seared mass of flesh, still smoking and looking slightly blackened.
The wound had been cauterized.
At about the same time, the blood on his opponent's blade would be sizzling, before strandes and wreathes of blackened flames burst into existance, flaring wildly into the likeness of a serpent.
His left hand was still a mess, but he flexed and crackes the knuckles on his fingers anyway, the blood that was freed turning into black flame.

The Serpantine flames on his wakazashi had Kain abandon that weapon. He observed his opponents use of cauterizing, very clever. Nevertheless, that wound in the side would sure to be a continued problem, he may have sealed the bleeding but that didn't stop the internal damage, nor would it stall the internal complications such as pain in the body...then again, he wasn't human.
The opponents had been seperated by the toss and now had a 20 or so metres between them. Kain had caught his breath and brought forth his polearm, the procedure much like how he had acquired his Odachi only more instantaneous. The wakazashi was sent away, he didn't want to give Vahn any possible use of those blackened fires on it.
Kain clutched the Naginata in both hands and crossed it over his chest to defend his body, the end of the wepon lay at his left foot and crossed to his right shoulder.
The fight continued and had brought Kain's garments to hydration again. His opponent had tricks up his sleeve, "excellent" he mused. Kain was hoping that he did.
