I'm bored on a Saturday, thus etsy window shopping happened! That holiday is around the corner and I really really like handmade cards but don't have that kind of skill to make it myself. Letterpress? Cutting in a straight line? ....Making a decent design? Oh ******** no. It's actually surprising how bad I cut considering all the crafting I do. :S I can't even cut a dang sandwich straight at work, lol. Maaajor depth perception problems there. xd ANYWAYS. So I found one of the coolest cards I have ever seen! =tags&includes[]=title]A golden mutha ******** ticket!. I'm not sure that I would buy it because it's 7 bucks for a card, not even counting what kind of shipping there would be....but there's an idea for other people. xd I'm always looking for cheap cards on there, or at least ones that match store prices so I don't feel like I'm spending crazy amounts on special paper, lol. I dunno though, I've always liked the card giving idea. I did all the way through high school and a bit in college. :O It's just fun to give cards! Ugh the paper bags on the desks were the frigging best! Also found some kind of creepy cards Serial killers with romantic sentiments wtfAnybody doing stuff? I'm not sure what our plans on, but we might invite a friend over for dinner or something. I don't really care about the romantical stuff on that specific day cuz it's our anniversary less than a month after so eh, personal s**t can happen on a more personal day :3 I doooo like the candies that come out. I gobbled down a ton of heart message candies this week! heart *rambles*

The only thing I'm doing (Singlesome again, lolz) is something for my parents.
I like doing something for my parents once in a while.
Only problem is - lack o moneys.
So I'm asking my brothers (three older brothers) to pitch in. If we all pitch in 5$ - I can buy my parents something for 20$ (I've already bought both my mom and dad a card each).
Evan (works one day a week, stuffing papers at the newspaper place in town) said 'if you grab me my wallet' (which is surprising to say the least!) David (loses his job at the end of Feb) said 'sure' and is wiring me the money soon.
Graham? Get over 330$ a MONTH for pretty much NOTHING! (it's his commission or whatever ... navy thing. He's an officer, works with the Sea Cadets here), spends tons of money on guns and eating out, recently got himself stupidly expensive cufflinks - etc, etc, etc. Said 'let me think about it'.
I get 10$ a week, and have to save up for a bus ticket to Prince George for April (upwards of 150$ depending on when I can book it), for a friend's wedding (I'm doing the photos, I have to be there).
And he says he has to think about it?! Okay, fine. I asked him again about a week later - HE STILL HAS TO THINK ABOUT IT?!
... Actually it's been about a couple weeks or so since I asked last, so I'm going to ask now.
Uh! FINALLY! '...sure.'
Ugg, he's sooo frustrating sometimes.

Isn't that like.. a month away? Though I guess it might come up 'cause shops are probably already gearing up for it. I won't be getting any of my many gorgeous valemtimes ladies any cards, because I of course think it's all bullshit 3nodding Too much of a stretch just to get the link in there?

Not really sure what else to say about that. xd hehe. I think I might have seen those cards before, that or HP fanfiction of that sort is common? lol. It reminds me of some sweet Law & Order valentine's that I found ages ago from this dude who makes pop art out of Law & Order stuff. In the criminal justice system, you're considered especially gorgeous, lol.

K so I ended up going with a few things from etsy actually, lol. Pug cards!Because we wanna get a pug someday, and this is just cute and simple smile I approve! Aaaand Couples couponsBecause I couldn't resist how cool it was made. I mean, it's sooo cute with it's thing looking like a raffle ticket and all. xd That and it'll be fun times. ninja Theeeen I saw this tutorial, this cute fabric envelope, and I couldn't resist. Soooo while he was out, I whipped it up stealth-like but it looks not as good as that one obvs. I'll get pics at a later date. ninja But yeah, it's a really cool idea period. I'd like to make it for other people too! And really really easy, like less than an hour to make smile I'll probably put the coupons in it.

I'm thinking of sending Valentines this year - modified store-bought stuff. So hopefully I'll get them all done and sent out to everyone here! If your address has changed since the winter holidays, or if you haven't posted it yet, please let me know. I can't send you Valentines without your address!
As far as actual plans go, I have none. Gary and I aren't really big on holidays. Perhaps if we can get someone to watch Eleanor we'll go to a movie or have a bonfire and get drunk. Dunno yet.

Yeah, I love that show xd I don't always agree with everything they say, and sometimes they get a little lazy or don't do the best job of making their arguments, but they don't take it overly seriously, leave a bit up to the viewer, are willing to compromise on a few things. It's good for getting you thinking on a few topics, anyway. 3nodding

That's actually a good idea - I have a small cauldron I could use for the chocolate. Never done it over a fire before - I usually use a double boiler - but perhaps if I'm careful it could be done.
