So we have thus huge contest comming up. I signed up for a solo and I didn't know that I might have to memorize it until today in band when my director told me. The contest is in early march and I need tips on like how to memorize a piece of music please.

Try to separate the song into sections and memorize one part at a time. Take it slow, but make sure you get it done right. Take your instrument home every weekend and memorize a new part. You should be fine. Breath.

Play it multiple times every day and it'll eventually become muscle memory. I memorize every song I play in band.

ive memmorized a duet i have to do becase me and my freind play it around 5 times a day repitions, work at it line after line
