I wish I could eliminate sugar but my body craves it and if I don't eat a certain amount I get sick, but I agree with everything you've said.
Homemade is the best, I make homemade food and it's cheaper taste better and I find myself and the people in my house more healthy from it and less likely to get sick.

A lot of people simply don't have the time to grow or make their own food.
My opinion though is that if it occurs in nature then it's an acceptable form to be eaten (among safe-to-eat things, of course). If you kill a pig and cook bacon then that's alright. If you grow wheat and make bread then that's fine. See where I'm going with this?
It's basically the processing that makes food not so good for you.

I am totally addicted to sugar too. I have sugar almost every single day. I would like to go sugar free, but seeing as how it's Easter and I've got bags full of candy, I don't see that being anytime soon sweatdrop

i grow my own food in a vegitable garden in my back yard. i used to buy food from kroger or walmart or sumthing. i used to despise tomatoes. i hated them! just to have one on my burger was enough to make me gag. now that i grow my own food, i cannot get enough of them! or greenbeans! cauliflower and brocolli (i have always loved them), and brussel sprouts. even eggplant tastes better now that they aren't grown in some controlled greenhouse! i love the taste and the money i save!

Right now I'm using my patch of grass for lettuce for my tortoise. She's so small that it's important to me that she eats organic. I can probably take a lot more of the toxins from store bought food than she can.
Someday, I'd like my own farm, or at the very least enough space to grow my own fruits/veggies and raise some meat animals. As it is, I get my eggs mostly from my boss. He has his own chickens and he brings in a few dozen fresh eggs every week and gives some away.

We have always made our own bread at home. At just to warn you. Buying bread from a bakery is essentially the same thing. Made in the same way with the same flour.
You can make big batches of bread and freeze them but the best way to make have bread is when it's fresh out of the oven. I have . . . alot of bread making tips if anyone wants to hit me up. ALOT.
Because a simple recipe wont get you anywhere without the procedure. There are 10 steps to making bread and each one has to be perfect to allow your bread to be the best it could be.
Also, when you buy flour. Since I know you guys are really concerned about unsafe foods. Read the ingredients, or find out where the flour comes from and if it has additives. They are selling some flour now with Omega 3 additives.

What's wrong with sugar? It's older then the hills. No literally.
