How do you feel about horror related cosplays? For example well-done gory zombies or other horror icons. And i'm talking about loads of blood, ripped off limbs, slime, guts (all fake ofcourse) ..you understand, real gore! ;D I'm just delighted when I see a good horror cosplay <3 I even plan to do a fair share of horror cosplays myself (starting with Ash from Evil Dead, a beaten up version). Now my question is, how do other cosplayers feel about horror (& gory) cosplays on convention? Do you like it? Ask for a picture? Or do you dislike that sort of cosplay?

Its fun when you notice some people are actually scared of you. When I cosplayed Xenu (alien lol) I knew this girl who was scared of aliens in general and I just stood next to her, silent. Her face was priceless lol.

It's the reason I hang around my two best female friends so much. The horror/gore fanatic who is way too obsessed with movies like Cannibal Holocaust and the slightly insane yet adorable one going into special effects make up as her major. Stuff like zombies, torn off limbs, falling out organs, etc, just makes me respect the people...if they can do it well. Then again, most cosplays with special effects (different, unnatural skin tones, fake ears, and what not) just astound me.

It's not just beautiful, but their showing a lot of skill. I mean to make it actually look like your missing a limb is pretty talented.
I love seeing any type of gory costume there is. And I don't mean just zombies and monsters. GuroLolita's and characters that have bloody outfits are really cool as well. Like when Euphie goes crazy is Code Geass. And Some of the art from Trinity Blood, pure elegance.

I'm not a big fan of extremely gory stuff, but I do have tons of respect for those people who can pull it off.

I like it except when they're to into character and won't talk, I find that annoying! stressed I just want to take a picture and end up feeling like I'm part of a mime act (when I ask them they still won't talk)! mad

Personally I'm not a fan of horror anything (be it movie, books, anime, you name it) but I do enjoy seeing gore-rific cosplays. I think it makes the con that much better since more genres are supported.
Plus if you get a picture of the costume and put it as the wallpaper on your computer (and you use that computer at school) any unsuspecting person who "happens" to look at your computer screen will see it and get freaked.
