Season nine is a couples season I think, it starts today.
I hadn't watched it before today and I watched it for about 3 hours on hulu.com @__@; It's very motivating for me, even with 15lbs to lose. I'm planning on using that as some motivation too, and was wondering how many people actually watch the show. :3

I've watched it in the past when I lived at home. I don't watch it anymore. If it's on and I'm flipping through channels I may stop for a little bit.

I watch it when I can. It is usually on at an awkward time for me and I can't watch it. But, when I can watch it, I usually do. I noticed there was a season premier tonight, and I might watch it if nothing else comes up.

@Madame de Sousa; It is great motivation. I love seeing what great things these people can do when they put their hearts into it.
If you guys go to hulu.com they have full episodes of a lot of different shows. Just type in the biggest loser and it has all of season 8 I think.
I actually missed the premier but it's ok, I'll watch it online soon.

I have mixed feelings about that show. I find it a little disheartening that they only accept extreme cases for the most part. In some ways I think it can fuel some people's denial. You know, the thought pattern "At least I'm not that bad!" On the other hand it can be full of useful tips and motivation.
I try to watch it but my orchestra rehearsals at college often overlap. If I watch it it is usually online if I remember to check back.
I was however a huge fan of Rebecca Meyer. After watching her I decided to set a goal to run a 5k in April.

I watch The Last Ten Pounds, Bulging Brides, and X-weighted when I feel like watching a weight loss show. They at least show people with access to nothing more than you can realistically (if not monetarily) get yourself. I'm not saying everyone has the ability to see a trainer and dietitian, however, it's not absurdly out of your reach. Seeing a Dietitian is free in Canada, you just have to get your doctor to refer you to one. And gyms often have a deal where if you sign up for a membership you can get a free visit with a trainer to set up a plan for yourself. Not realistic for everyone, but also not insanely out of reach for 90% of the population* My problems with The Biggest Loser. It promotes extreme measures to lose weight such as working out for three hours a day and restricting calories to the minimum level you can while still staying alive. http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=55831These people have access to things you guys NEVER will unless you find someone to pay you to focus on nothing other than losing weight. They don't have jobs to do or school to go to and they have access to the best medical and nutritional advice and help to a) keep them from dying, and b) help them along. *Yes. I pulled that statistic out of thin air. >.>

Contestants are thrown into running marathons without enough/proper training, starve themselves, and have dehydrated themselves to the point of peeing blood for the sake of taking another ounce off of their weight loss. Honestly, it's only a matter of time before someone dies.
