This is the sacred land of the Great Wolf Tribe, any who wish to call upon these powerful allies must come here to seek acceptance into their pack.
You must first go through Mount Fenerus to reach this area, once here you will be given a test to see if you are worthy of summoning these mighty creatures. (go to the mount fenerus topic located here and follow the instructions there before posting here)
Lance Fulgurant Wolf Summoning
Wolf Tribe Summoning: The Great Wolfpack hunts in the sacred plains of the Ookami, an area that can only be entered by the wolves reverse summoning someone or by trekking through the wilderness of the water country till you reach the top of Mount Fenerus, a journey that takes at least seven days. The leader of the pack is Fenerus, the son of Houkou the great Wolf Demon. The wolfpack reveres Houkou as the father of all wolves. When the pack accepts a ninja as their summoner that ninja is considered a member of the pack, and will always be considered a part of that great family.
Each Wolf is just slightly smaller than a horse, with claws and fangs as sharp as any sword.
Rahu: Rahu is the warrior of the great wolf pack; always the first to the fight, Rahu will do anything to protect his packmates. Rahu is also the largest member of the pack, except of course for the Alpha, standing about two feet taller than all of them. Though he is aggressive and ferocious he does not fight without thought, he is a cunning warrior, and leads his packmates to victory with impressive strategies. He wears sacred armor that is just as effective at causing damage as protecting the wearer from it. Special Abilities: When Rahu attacks his armor can give him a spiritual boost that makes him move fast enough that he will break the sound barrier, though only for a split second. This ability gives him just enough time to move right up to his opponent for a quick attack, the attack is not un-dodgeable or un-blockable, but it is very difficult to do either. (this ability has a cool-down of 3 posts) Also any physical attacks made against Rahu causes his armor to lash out with spiritual energy, dealing damage to the attacker as if they had been hit by an attack one rank lower than the attack used.
Cahalith: The voice of the pack; Cahalith is the messenger of the pack, able to send fairly detailed messages to the rest of the pack with a simple howl. Cahalith is also able to heal the wounds of her packmates, though not to the same degree that a proficient medical ninja might be able to. Special Abilities With a peaceful and soothing howl, Cahalith can heal wounds as if performing Chiyute No Jutsu: Karui (Healing Hands Technique: Minor).Chiyute No Jutsu: Karui (Healing Hands Technique: Minor) Description: The user concentrates chakra into their hands creating a ball of healing chakra. This chakra when concentrated will repair physical damage to another person. This is the first stage of Chiyute taught to all Medical Nin, it is not possible to advance past stage three without this technique. The effects of this technique are limited to superficial cuts and injuries though it can reduce the severity of more serious injuries. Eledoth: Eledoth is the councilor of the wolf pack, and the only wolf other than the Alpha capable of speech. Though he does not excel in any one field, Eledoth is the most balanced member of the pack, making him the most well suited to supporting his allies abilities. Special Abilities: When summoned by himself Eledoth increases the power of all jutsus by 1 rank (except S-rank)
Ithaeur: The spiritual leader of the pack, Ithaeur is favored of Houkou and has been granted great spiritual power. Special Abilities: Ithaeur is able to perform all elemental ninjutsu up to chunin level. (only the five basic elements: Katon, Fuuton, Suiton, Doton, and Raiton)(Itaeur starts off with no element and can then immediately switch to one, if switching from one element to another he must spend one turn switching to the other element, when switching Itahaeur cannot attack, though he can still move around, dodge, and block)
Irraka: The eyes and ears of the pack; Irraka is the fastest in the pack as well as the stealthiest making him the perfect scout. Special Ability: Irraka moves as quickly as a Jounin level speed ninja. Irraka is as stealthy as a Jounin level stealth ninja. Irraka can use a shadow Shunshin technique which allows him to travel 1 mile from where they are standing in any direction instantaneously, but he must be able to visualize the area in their head. This technique can be used in escaping combat, and also to travel to some extent. However, when this is used to escape combat, this cannot be used when the Irraka is attacked or is attacking.
Summon pack: This allows the user to summon Rahu, Cahalith, Eledoth, Ithaeur, and Irraka all at once. However none of the wolves can use their special abilities when they are summoned in this manner, they are simply five very big, very coordinated, and very lethal wolves.
Boss Summoning: Fenerus, The Alpha Wolf

Fenerus: The Alpha of the Wolf pack, Fenerus is the son of the father of all wolves, Houkou the Five-tailed wolf Demon. He is about as big as a modest house, with teeth as long as most men's arms. Fenerus is the only wolf other than Eledoth that can speak. He is incredibly cunning and intelligent, but also fierce and instinctual. There is no other being more protective of his family. As the Alpha he is the strongest, fastest, wisest, and most cunning of all the other wolves making him a force to be reckoned with. Fenerus can use any elemental ninjutsu up to chunin level thanks to his lineage as Houkou's son. (Fenerus starts off with no element and can then immediately switch to one, if switching from one element to another he must spend one turn switching to the other element, when switching Fenerus cannot attack, though he can still move around, dodge, and block)
Original Summoner: Kaizen Minoru 2. 3. 4. 5.

Wolf Summoning Jutsus
Name: Spirit Compact Rank: C Special Post Requirement: 10 posts in the fields of Ookami [learning/teaching bonuses do not apply] Description: Those that the Great Wolf Tribe trust are given the opportunity to undergo a special ritual in which the person in question will seek to understand his spirit self.
The wolves believe that every being has a physical self and a spirit self. Natural creatures are born with their physical and spirit in perfect harmony, whether they be a placid cow, or a sinister viper. The only living beings that the Wolves believe don't have a perfect union of the body and the spirit, are man, which is why man is constantly wanting. By undergoing this ritual a person can come to better understand their spirit self, and in so doing they learn to better understand the world around them.
The wolves aid the person undergoing by letting them drink from the spirit pools, pools of water found in the center of the Heart Tree in the Fields of Ookami. They are said to be the tears of Houkou, whom the wolves believe sung the world into existence. Whether this is true or not, it is clear that the water in these pools is key to successfully performing this ritual.
The effect the water has is different for each person, and for some it can be incredibly dangerous, especially for those who have lived at cross-purposes with their true spirit self.
Effect: By undergoing this ritual the user makes a compact with his spirit self, giving the spirit a physical form. The spirit guide, as it is called, takes the form of a natural animal (though the coloring may be unique), the type of animal is based on the spirit and persoanility of the user. The spirit guid is a reflection of the spirit self in its truest form, and for each individual the spirit guide will look slightly different. A wise man's spirit guide might take the form of an owl, while a playful man's might take the guise of a fox.
The spirit guide can not normally do anything in combat aside from speak to the user.
The spirit guide will survive as long as the user does. It cannot die as long as the user survives, but it can be "dispelled" for the length of a battle if it is struck with a sound blow.

Kaizen Minoru 改善 山崎實 Lotus of the Mist Fire | Lightning | Earth | Water | Wind
"We are the culmination of every choice we have ever made..."After hours of climbing, Kaizen could see what looked like an opening in the side of a cliff face. Stopping, Kaizen walked up the path, his eyes scanning the area ahead of him cautiously. As he got closer, Kaizen could see that the ground seemed to slope down where the opening was. Blinking in wonderment, Kaizen caught the sound of the song he had heard at the base of the mountain. As he climbed closer he realized that something about the song seemed familiar. It sounded of leaves caught on the breeze and water flowing through a stream. It sounded of laughter with friends and the smell of fresh bread. It sounded of the sunshine caught through glass and a mother's gentle touch. It sounded of all these things and a thousand thousand others.
And as suddenly as the sound had come, it was gone, and Kaizen was snapped out of his revery by the sound of approaching paws. Shaking his head slightly, Kaizen looked up to see three large wolves, each one tall enough to look Kaizen in the eye. Shifting his shoulders uncomfortably, Kaizen waited while the trio approached, stopping just a few feet from him. Moving with a calm, careful gait, the wolf in the middle moved closer to Kaizen, stark-white eyes meeting brilliant amber hues. Sniffing curiously at the air, each breath sounding more like the work of a billows than lungs, the wolf inspected Kaizen, always keeping its eyes on him.
Stopping with its snout bare inches away from Kaizen's face, the wolf looked into Kaizen's eyes, a strange intelligence hiding behind animal cunning. With a final exhalation of breath, the air tousling Kaizen's wild, white hair as it passed him over him, the great beast turned around and began stalking back up the mountain pass towards the opening. Stopping by its two companions, the wolf looked over his shoulder at Kaizen quizically before continuing his walk, the other two wolves falling in tow. Moving with uncertain steps, Kaizen followed after them, his face a mix of excitement and nervousness.
Stopping at the lip of the ridge, the wolves looked to Kaizen as they waited for him to approach. Taking the final steps to reach the lip of the hill, Kaizen's mouth fell open at the sight before him. There had to be hundreds of square miles of grassy plains rolled out before him, and in the middle stood an enormous tree, surrounded by many smaller trees. Looking around the edges of the basin, Kaizen could see that this was the only entrance into the valley below, with sheer cliff face encircling the whole of basin. It was wild and untended, untouched by time and the hand of man, it was beautiful in a way that cannot be conveyed through words."... but sometimes, the right choice isn't always clear."

"So you did make it, after all? I'm impressed."
The voice came from directly behind Kaizen, though a moment before, not a soul other than Kaizen and the many wolves of this field were there. Without acknowledging Kaizen any further, except for a gesture to follow, the man began to walk towards the tree in the middle of the fields. As he made his way, the many wolves they passed by seemed to lay down on their stomachs, almost as if they were bowing to their silver-haired master. Upon reaching the tree, the man unsheathed his katana to allow just the barest hint of blade to show, then took the thumb of his other finger, laid it on the blade part, then completely withdrew the blade, leaving a perfectly clean line across his thumb, blood quickly pooling in the large, but not particularly serious, cut. Sheathing his blade once again, the man made five handseals- boar, dog, rooster, monkey, ram- before slamming his still bleeding hand on the ground and crying "Kuchiyose no Jutsu!"
In a great burst of smoke, the man was propelled upward, now standing on the back of an enormous black wolf with red markings all over him. "What is the meaning of this, Sephiroth?" the wolf said, a bit annoyed that the man would summon him within the Fields of Ookami. "You could have simply yelled, and I-" the great wolf cut off as he eyed Kaizen, staring into his stark white eyes, recognizing the significant scent that hung around him. "So....the time has come. Greetings, young one. I am Fenerus." He stated, authority deeply layered in his voice. Beneath those layers, however, Fenerus was shaking with anxiety......of once again being approached by one who contained the soul of his father.

"We are the culmination of every choice we have ever made..."Looking over his shoulder as his platinum haired master walked past him, Kaizen's mouth drawing up into a small smile as he followed after the man. "Had your confidence in me been so shaken?", Kaizen asked as he followed calmly behind his master. Glancing at the wolves as they bowed to the man, Kaizen raised an eyebrow, clearly this man was important to the wolves.
Stopping as the man approached the great tree, Kai arched an eyebrow as the man drew his giant blade, cutting his thumb in the motion. Watching the hand-seals carefully as the platinum haired man performed his jutsu, Kaizen recognized what he was doing, he had seen Yamatano do it countless times after all. As the man slammed his hand into the ground, Kaizen watched on calmly as smoke enveloped the area, simply lifting a hand to keep most of it out of his eyes.
Lowering his hand, Kaizen's jaw dropped slightly at the sight of the largest wolf he had ever seen, it's fierce eyes staring down at him from almost twenty feet. What's more, the mighty beast seemed to already know of him. Clearing his throat, Kaizen bowed deeply before saying in a humble tone, "it is an honor to meet you, mighty Fenerus. I am the Lotus of the Mist, Kaizen Minoru.""... but sometimes, the right choice isn't always clear."

"Kaizen.......Minoru........" The great wolf whispered, a low, guttural growling sound. "It seems that Sephiroth has chosen well. Come with me, Kaizen, it is time for you to claim your destiny." And with that, the great wolf slowly but regally walked towards the great pools in the center of the field, the mysterious man, whom Kaizen now knew the name of thanks to Fenerus, still riding atop his back, looking out over the horizon as if contemplating the past, the future, or perhaps nothing at all.
Upon arriving at the pools, Fenerus gestured Kaizen towards the largest pool while Sephiroth leapt nimbly off the wolf's back. "Kaizen, these pools are the key to finally understanding the power laying dormant within you, and finally coming to terms with your......beast." Sephiroth said, hinting for the first time to Kaizen that he was aware of the Houkou within him, though he left it at that. "Drink deep from these pools, Kaizen. You must pass the wolves test to be deemed worthy of further teaching. If you fail, however......" Sephiroth pushed his magnificent blade a small bit out of it's sheath with his thumb. It wasn't a clear threat towards Kaizen, but it got his point across.
As Sephiroth explained to Kaizen, it seemed that more and more wolves began to converge upon the pools, each of them staring at the two nonwolf visitors, particularly Kaizen. All had gathered in anticipation, the intelligence in their eyes revealing that they knew much of what was to happen, even if Kaizen himself didn't. Everything now hinged on whether Kaizen would turn away, or accept his path.

"We are the culmination of every choice we have ever made..."Following quietly in the wake of Sephiroth and Fenerus, Kaizen's face was a mask of calm emotion. As the small group continued into the great tree, traveling through an elaborate root system, Kaizen heard a padding sound, like a muffled footstep. Glancing all around, Kai could see more wolves as they gathered in on the small party, their amber hues glowing in the dim light provided by strange glowing moss spotting the roots of great tree. As they continued forward Kaizen could hear the sound of flowing water, and as they rounded another corner in the labyrinthine like roots, Kaizen saw the Great Pool. Walking up to the edge, Kaizen waited for a moment as he looked at all the faces gathered there to watch. Taking a calming breath, Kaizen lifted his foot and stepped forward.
As Kaizen took his first step into the crystal clear water, his foot disturbing the mirror-like stillness of the water as he stepped through the surface, he couldn't help but be aware of the dozens of eyes watching his every movement. As he walked towards the center of the pool, the cool water soaking through his clothes, Kaizen let his fingers skim across the surface, causing yet more ripples to spread from him. Stepping out into the center of the pond, Kaizen looked down to see his own reflection staring back at him. Cupping his hands, Kai closed his eyes as lifted the water to his mouth and drank, managing to get nearly as much of the refreshing water down the front of his shirt as he did down his throat. (1/10 Spirit Compact)
For a long moment nothing happened, the wolves staring in stony silence as they watched and waited for what would come next, then Kaizen felt something pulse inside him. Opening his eyes Kaizen saw as a single ripple spreading from where he stood, leaving the surface of the water completely still as it moved towards the edges of the pool. While Kai watched in anxious anticipation, the water suddenly began to glow, softly at first, then growing brighter and brighter, almost seeming to suck in the dim light around the pool to fuel it's own. As Kaizen looked on in quiet disbelief, a dome of light rose up around Kaizen, hiding his view of the wolves and Sephiroth. As the dome closed above him, Kaizen's vision grew dark, his senses seeming muffled as he found himself drifting into unconsciousness. (2/10)"... but sometimes, the right choice isn't always clear."

"Kai... Kaizen, it's time to wake up", Kaizen's mother cooed softly, as she placed a hand on his shoulder, eliciting a drowsy sigh from the young boy. Lifting a hand to his face, Kaizen rubbed at one eye as he sat up, all the while flashing a grin at his mother. "Is it time for training already?", Kaizen asked drowsily, still rubbing at one eye. Fiddling with Kaizen's wild stark-white hair, Kai's mother simply nodded, a gentle smile on her lips. Brushing his mother's hands away playfully, Kai rushed out of bed and into his closet, dashing out once more and hopping up onto his window-sill. (3/10)
Kneeling in the morning sunlight, Kaizen gazed out over the lake his house sat upon, a blissful smile spreading across his face as he breathed in the morning air. I will never forget the sacrifices you made for me, and for this village. And one day, I swear, I will see the future you gave your lives for realized, the words suddenly echoed in his mind. Visions flashed in front of his eyes, a great five tailed beast, his parents graves, crying in the rain. The visions were memories, his memories, the words his words. But how! How could these be his memories? "Kaizen?", the concerned voice of his mother asked, looking up at him as he knelt on the windowsill. Turning to look her in the eye, Kaizen's attention was diverted by movement from behind his mother. (4/10)
Peering around his mother, Kaizen saw a white wolf, strange glowing symbols running all over its body. As he met the wolf's fierce gaze, Kaizen could almost feel the creature looking deep into his core, as if with that meeting of eyes, the wolf was seeing every part of him. After a long moment, the wolf looked at Kaizen's mother, then back at him, shaking its head sadly before turning on its haunches and walking away, disappearing like smoke in the wind. Looking to his mother, Kaizen's breathing was heavy and his eyes wide as he met her gaze. (5/10)
But as Kaizen really looked at his mother, he realized that there had been a fog before clouding his vision from the truth, and what he saw caused him to fall from his perch on the windowsill. Where his mothers eyes should have been, there were only two white orbs, the film of death covering them. Plummeting towards the ground, memories assaulted Kaizen, drowning out the surroundings as visions flashed before his eyes. The Gobi running rampant through the village, his body being mutilated by the Gobi's attack, his parents bodies, crushed under the rubble of a building. (5.5/10)
This was his past, there was no changing it. It made him who he was today, and it continued to shape every decision he made. He had spent far too long dwelling in the past, there was nothing he could do to change it now. Closing his eyes, a content smile spread across Kaizen's face as the world around him grew dark, and he finally succumbed to the comforting embrace of unconsciousness. (6/10)"I live to fulfill the dreams of those that came before me"

Kaizen Minoru 改善 山崎實 Lotus of the Mist Fire | Lightning | Earth | Water | Wind
"We are the culmination of every choice we have ever made..."Opening his eyes, Kaizen found himself surrounded by a thick a smoke, obscuring his vision of his surroundings. Looking down, Kaizen could see that he was holding his sword, Oni Koutai, in his hand, a black liquid dripping off of its tip. Looking forward, Kaizen called into the smoke, "Hello! Is anyone there?! I mean no harm!", but there was no answer. Cleaning his blade on the sash he wore around his waist, Kaizen quickly sheathed the blade and moved forward quickly, but cautiously, eyes darting all about, his senses on full alert. As he began to round a corner he heard a crack further down the main path. (7/10)
Moving cautiously, Kaizen rested his hand on the hilt of Oni Koutai as he approached the source of the noise. As he pressed forward, the smoke became thinner, the light of the moon beginning to pierce through the haze. As he moved further into the light, the toe of Kaizen's tabi struck something on the ground. Pausing, Kaizen looked down then quickly drew a sharp breath before turning away. Lying there in a pool of his own blood was the Mizukage, Luo Ushio, his body contorted and mangled. Turning back to look at the corpse, Kaizen dropped to his knees, low sobs beginning to rack his body, just as the first droplets of rain fell. Covering his face with a hand, Kaizen was jerked back to the present by the sound of a scream in the distance. (8/10)
Kaizen quickly rose to his feet, turned on his heel, and drew his blade before dashing off after the sound, his eyes filled with a fiery rage. Running through the smoke, Kai strained his eyes as he looked desperately for the source of the scream, when suddenly he ran into a town square, passing out of the smoke and into clean air. As he looked about however, what Kaizen saw caused his stomach to lurch dangerously as he tried to keep down the rising bile. In the center of the square was a pile of bodies, villagers that Kaizen knew, friends he had made, and standing atop the pile of corpses was Ghaniri, his bruise colored skin appearing all the more sickening as it was slicked with blood. (9/10)
As he looked closer at the monster, Kaizen’s eyes widened in horror and rage. Holding it by one arm, Ghaniri held the torso of Kaizen’s first true friend, Yamatano Hatake, his unique headband hanging loosely around his neck, a long gash running across the place where his left eye had been. As Kaizen stood there for a moment, looking at what remained of his friend, Kaizen could feel the same numbness he had felt when he first discovered his parents bodies. Falling to his knees, Kaizen could only stare in silent disbelief as Ghaniri tossed Yamatano aside and began advancing towards Kai, an evil glow clear in the beasts jet black eyes. As Ghaniri stepped in front of Kaizen, lifting one vicious claw high in the air, Kaizen just looked up at the beast, expression blank, arms limp at his side. (9.5/10) I couldn’t protect them… even now, after all these years… I’m just as weak as I was then, Kaizen thought to himself as one final, cruel smile spread across Ghaniri’s face. Straightening all of his fingers so that his hand was flat, Ghaniri lunged forward, aiming to rip Kaizen’s heart from his chest, when suddenly there was a vicious bark and a white flash rammed into Ghaniri, knocking him to the ground as razor sharp fangs dug into the flesh of the creature left arm. Looking at the creature that had saved his life, Kaizen recognized it as the same wolf as before, the one he had seen behind his mother. (9.75/10)
Blinking several times, the light returned to Kaizen’s eyes as he watched the creature fight for him, protecting him from Ghaniri. But despite the wolf’s efforts he was no match for the monster he fought, and with a pained whine the wolf was flung away to crash into a nearby building. Kaizen’s eyes widened in surprise, surprise which quickly turned to rage, and with a guttural roar, Kaizen snatched up his blade and charged forward. If he wasn’t strong enough to save the ones he cared about, then he would at least see justice done. He would keep living, keep fighting, and one day he would grow strong. Strong enough to protect everyone he loved. (9.90/10)
Stepping within melee range, time seemed to slow down for a moment as Ghaniri lunged forward to impale Kaizen with his claws, but as the creatures claws came close to hitting him, Kaizen’s second weapon flashed out of its sheath, slicing Ghaniri’s hand off at the wrist. As Ghaniri cried out in pain, he lashed out with a leg, but this time Kaizen was too quick. Hopping off of the ground, Kaizen tucked in his knees as he spun his body, bringing his sword around in a vicious three-hundred and sixty degree arc to take off Ghaniri’s head as the monster’s leg swept harmlessly underneath him. And just as suddenly as it had begun, it was done, and Ghaniri’s corpse lay on the ground in a crumpled heap. (9.99/10)
Suddenly Kaizen remembered the wolf that had saved him, but as he turned towards it, he saw that the creature had already risen to its feet, and it was locking its too-intelligent gaze with Kai’s. Walking toward the creature, Kaizen stopped just a few feet away and knelt down on one knee before saying calmly, “Thank you for saving me, perhaps for the second time. I won’t forget your courage, and I will cherish this life that you protected. Thank you.” Inclining its head in what Kaizen took to be a sign that accepted his thanks, the wolf then walked forward towards Kaizen, much to his surprise, and placed its forehead to Kaizen’s, and suddenly there was a bright flash of light. (10/10 Spirit Compact learned)"... but sometimes, the right choice isn't always clear."

"We are the culmination of every choice we have ever made..."Opening his eyes, Kaizen realized that he was looking up at the roots of the heart tree, floating on his back in the Spirit Pools. Rising to his feet, Kaizen looked around at wolves which still stood around the pool watching him intently. Turning to see Fenerus and Sephiroth, Kaizen simply stood there for a moment before a smile spread across his face. Walking towards the pair, Kaizen took a deep breath before opening his mouth to let a single note escape his lips. The sound of it was like the song that had drawn him here, a song as old as time itself, the notes to which shaped the world as Houkou sung it into existence. Kaizen couldn't say how he knew the legend, or how he had come to learn of that note, but as he sang, the wolves that had gathered lifted their heads and let their howls join his voice in a mighty chorus.
As more voices were added to the song, wisps of light began to fill the chamber, gathering over the center of the Spirit Pools. The light swirled in a myriad of colors, shifting constantly, but always giving off that same brilliant radiance. As the voices of those that had gathered swelled into a great crescendo, the light began to coalesce into a single radiant ball of energy, which slowly began to descend into the pools themselves. Kaizen watched in awe as the light touched the surface, and suddenly in a brilliant flash of light, the song ended.
As his vision came into focus, Kaizen's mouth fell open in shock, which quickly turned to a smile. Standing atop the water, was a white wolf, intricate markings glowing softly all over its body, two pupil-less white eyes, an intelligence held within their depths which belied the wolf's true nature. As Kaizen simply stood there, waiting to see what the creature might do, the wolf walked forward, moving with a fluid and natural grace as its paws made tiny ripples walking across the surface of the water. Stopping in front of Kaizen, the wolf put its head underneath one of Kaizen's hands and as their skin met, Kaizen could hear a voice speaking to him within his own head, "Hello, Kaizen Minoru, my name is Aikou. I am you, and you are I. We are one.""... but sometimes, the right choice isn't always clear."

As Kaizen awoke from the Spirit Pools Dream, a small twitch at the corners of Sephiroth's mouth, quite conceivably the closest thing to a smile the tall, long haired man could make. When Kaizen finished the song of the wolves and made contact with his Spirit Compact, Sephiroth finally stepped forth. "Good, Kaizen. I'm glad that I made the right choice in taking you here. Now, you are the second person in this world to have drank from the sacred pools." As Sephiroth finished his sentence, the air behind him became distorted, shifting and changing until it took shape. A great white raven, hovering in the air with each flap of it's twenty foot wingspan, stared down upon Kaizen, the same penetrating gaze that was always on Sephiroth's face. The bird remained in the air for a full ten seconds, continuing to stare at Kaizen even as it was swept away, like a handful of dust scattering to the wind.
Without even a word, Sephiroth turned around and walked away from the pools, the wolves clearing a small path for their master as he walked to an empty spot. Snapping his fingers, the Alpha Wolf fenerus himself came to Sephiroth's side, a large scroll fixed between his jaws, which he dropped and unrolled at Sephiroth's feet. Upon the scroll was the language of wolves, written a long time ago in ink, and written in large kanji of blood, the name 'Sephiroth' lay under the text. "Now, your time is here." Sephiroth began, kneeling over the scroll as he spoke to Kaizen. "You must write your name here, in your blood, signing a contract with the wolves of Ookami. Then, you must perform the handseals I performed earlier, sacrificing blood and chakra, to call the wolves to your side whenever you need them. They will be your greatest ally, and your most unique ability. Use it well." Sephiroth said, now gesturing to the contract as he waited to see if Kaizen would sign.

"We are the culmination of every choice we have ever made..."Kaizen looked away from Aikou, a smile playing on his face as he rested a hand on the wolf's head, to listen to Sephiroth as he congratulated him. As the air behind Sephiroth began to shift, Kai watched in wonder as a mighty raven, its feathers as white as the fresh driven snow, appeared behind his master, an intelligence similar to Aikou's clear in its eye. As Kaizen met eyes with the creature, he could feel its power, which stemmed from the power of its other half, he was certain.
As the Raven began to disappear, Kai noticed Sephiroth walking away. Rising to his feet, Kaizen followed after him, Aikou quick on his heel. As Fenerus brought out the scroll, Kaizen listened carefully to Sephiroth's words as he read over the script which covered the scroll. Without a word, Kaizen drew Tenshu Koutai from its sheath, the silver wakizashi brilliant in the dim glow of the Heart Tree's strange moss. Gripping the blade of his weapon with his other hand, Kaizen quickly drew the blade across his palm, a thin line of red quickly stretching from one side to the other. Squeezing his hand into a fist, Kaizen let the blood flow from between his fingers as held his hand over the scroll.
As the drops of blood spattered across the scroll, Kaizen said in a calm tone, "Mizu Souju", his eyes turning a deep sapphire blue as the words left his mouth. Suddenly splatters of blood began to move along the page, forming the Kanji for "Kaizen Minoru" from Kai's blood. Turning towards Sephiroth, Kaizen lifted his hands to his chest before flashing through the hand-seals he had been shown earlier: boar, dog, rooster, monkey, ram. Lifting his already bloodied hand into the air, Kaizen hesitated for just a moment, knowing what he would have to do to get the amount of chakra he needed. Gritting his teeth, Kaizen slammed his hand into the ground as he cried out, "Kuchiyose no Jutsu!" As he felt his chakra swell, Kaizen closed his eyes, and let the world around him fade. [1/7 Kuchiyose no Jutsu]"... but sometimes, the right choice isn't always clear."

Kaizen Minoru 改善 山崎實 Lotus of the Mist Fire | Lightning | Earth | Water | Wind
"We are the culmination of every choice we have ever made..."Opening his eyes, Kaizen found himself standing in a great abyss, with nothing but darkness as far as the eye could see. "I know that your here. Show yourself!", Kaizen called out, his voice hard as he stared straight ahead, his expression resolute in its stoicism. As he stood there, surrounded by darkness, Kaizen could hear a low rumbling, which quickly grew louder. After a moment, Kaizen realized what the rumbling was, laughter, and as the laughter grew in volume, its source became more and more visible. [2/7]
Lying on his belly, the mighty five-tailed wolf Houkou, stared down at Kaizen from on high, his enormous stark-white eyes making clear his amusement at Kaizen's brazen words. Mouth turned up into a vicious, fang-filled smile, Houkou ceased his laughter after a moment then said in an amused tone, "I didn't expect to see you here without the threat of death looming over you. What is it that you want so desperately that you would willingly seek me out?" As Houkou spoke, his tails, each one formed from one of the five elements, flicked about, belying the great beast's impatience.[3/7]
Closing his eyes for a moment, Kaizen couldn't help but smirk. It was true that there had been a time when he would have been too terrified to seek Houkou out, but he wasn't the same scared little child he was before. He couldn't ignore the beast within, not anymore, not if he was to protect the ones he cared about. Opening his eyes, Kaizen looked up at Houkou, matching the beasts amused glare with eyes that seemed aflame with determination. "I don't have time to bandy words with you, Houkou. I need your power, and you're going to give it to me!", Kaizen called out, his tone brooking no argument as he looked Houkou straight in the eye. [4/7]
At Kaizen's demand, Houkou narrowed his eyes, his toothy grin quickly disappearing to be replaced by a vicious snarl. Lowering his head so that his snout was just a few feet away from Kaizen, Houkou said in a tone bordering on anger, "And what makes you think that I would lend you my power, you insolent child. You are lucky I do not strike you down for such impudence." Doing his best to remain calm, Kaizen did not avert his eyes as Houkou drew closer, matching stares with the beast even as his knees threatened to buckle beneath him. He had come this far though, he couldn't stop now. He would either leave with the power he needed or not at all. [5/7]"If you could escape from your prison without me, you would have long ago, beast. I know that you desire the chance to use your power, but the only way you can do that is through me. You WILL lend me your power, because if you don't you'll be stuck here in the dark again, unable to touch the world outside.", as Kaizen spoke, he turned one side of his mouth up into a smirk, hoping to god that he was right. As he stood there, waiting for Houkou to respond, his eyes widened in surprise as he heard the same rumbling laughter building up as before. Mouth turning up into the same toothy grin from before, Houkou then said with a hint of amusement, "such bravery in the face of danger. Very well, I will lend you my power, boy, but I can assure you that I will not look kindly on such insolence in the future. Now, begone, before I decide to devour you instead." With that, Houkou began to fade into darkness once again, his rumbling laughter the last thing Kaizen heard before everything faded away. [6/7]
All of this happened in the passing of a moment, and as Kaizen came back to reality, he could feel Houkou's power pulsing through him, lending him the strength he needed to perform the jutsu. Chakra streamed through his hand, appearing as a myriad of constantly shifting color, as prismatic Kanji appeared on the ground, streaming from under his palm. In a puff of smoke, Kaizen was hidden from view for a moment, but as the smoke cleared, Kai could be seen standing next to a great black wolf, wearing ancient spiked armor. Smiling at the wolf, Kaizen said pleasantly, "Hello again, Rahu." [7/7 Kuchiyose no Jutsu learned] "... but sometimes, the right choice isn't always clear."

The corners of Sephiroth's mouth turned upward slightly, the closest thing to a smile that the man would allow to show on his face. But that smile quickly turned into his trademark scowl as Sephiroth realized just how long Kaizen had been with him. Surely by now, the Mizukage would be looking for his prized chuunin who had disappeared without warning or a trace, and the last thing that Sephiroth needed was to be discovered by a shinobi as strong as the legendary Luo Ushio. "Alright, good, we've done what we've set out to do. But now, you must depart. I will come back for you, but tell no one of myself. Kirigakure is in the middle of a festival, entering now will garner the least suspicion. Now, Begone!" And with that, Sephiroth brought his arm up before him, clenched his fist, and suddenly, Kaizen vanished. There was no cloud of dust, no handseals...Kaizen was simply...gone.
After Kaizen had left, Sephiroth leaned against the great tree, staring up into the now starry sky, with Fenerus at his side. "When will you tell him everything, Sephiroth?" The great beast asked, his great booming voice hushed down to a moderate, almost parental tone. "You can't just keep giving him half-truths. With your vast power and knowledge of his condition, eventually he WILL figure it out." In response, Sephiroth just sighed as he sharpened his already fabulously sharp blade, considering the truth of Fenerus's words, and his increasingly bad reasons for not heeding them.
