 __________
When one makes it through the series of caves, one leads to the beautiful bridge. The bridge spans the length of the entire village and is one of the only few ways out of the village. The bridge very wide and is often busy, crowded with various shacks and posts. Many old men can be see leaning against the bridge talking, while children race around the various people passing by.
The bridge leads directly to customs, where the ANBU check all the newcomers.
Leads to: -Village Entrance / Village Exit -Caverns of Lightning

A cool breeze swept across the bridge leading into Kumo, lightly rocking the strange plants that grew down from the mountainsides. It was daytime, so the light from the lanterns wasn't needed, as it barely cast any noticeable light onto the long architectural wonder that the master craftsmen of Kumogakure had constructed to span the entire village.
Looking towards the inside of the mountainside, the bridge would eventually take you through the various tunnels that honeycombed the mountain wall, creating a maze for those that might cause harm to its inhabitants. With knowledge of the mountain's structure, or a Kumogakure resident as a guide, one could work their way through the catacombs and make it to the outside of the mountain that now held Kumogakure. One would find themselves in the snowy ruins of old Kumogakure, the village horribly torn apart by an avalanche...
Leading away from the base of the mountain was the administration offices of Kumo, where one would go through customs to gain entrance into the village. Inside the same building was the Raikage's office, a structural mistake by the boy's logic. Placing the office of the most important man in Kumogakure right in front of harm's way, should a band of enemy or rouge ninja attack, seemed like a poor way to protect said important person. But it was the Raikage's decision to make, the maturing boy had no say in the matter. Then again, the boy was most likely unconscious, buried in an ice cave outside of Kumogakure at the time...
As the breeze passed through the bridge's long expanse, the Raiken boy was not immune to its influence. The wind swept by the point on the bridge that the boy had decided to sit down and look over the developing village. His long dark blonde hair blew slightly in the breeze, though bound into a short ponytail by a paper wrap and two senbon. The cool breeze felt a bit too chilly for the pale skinned boy, but he knew that for something as short as a gust of wind, it would not last. So the pale-skinned, maturing, loosely dressed, Raiken boy simply sat on the side of the bridge looking over the village of Kumogakure, shivering in the lightly colder wind streams.
"...". Kiego's observance of his newfound home was in, and followed by complete silence, only sighing occasionally as a self-implicating mechanism to inform his that he had not gone deaf. His vision of the world was one of its own kind, unlike anything that anyone outside of the Raiken clan had ever seen. Or would see, for that matter, because his was a dying clan, as it was unknown if anyone else had survived the avalanche that destroyed Kumogakure. Kiego's was a solace that was ever lasting, unbroken forever by time. His eyes would be the last of their kind, only slightly similar to that of the Hyuuga's, who's fate was currently safely secured. From atop the high bridge, he could see any and all of the few inhabitants of Kumo, their heartbeats releasing the electricity that his eyes would detect. Everything was shown to him, and him alone. It would be that way for eternity, as Keigo was the last of the Raiken clan.

[FROM ARMORY]
As Xoren walked up to the boy, he felt the rope bridge shudder at his weight, and although he knew that he was only barely above 100 lb, he was nervous. Reassured by the fact that dozens of people walk across this bridge everyday from the Raikage's office to the lower levels of Kumogakure, he walked on.
As he got closer to the boy, he noticed that his legs were swinging underneath the actual bridge, and he was in a dangerous position indeed.
"Careful man, you might fall off like that." Xoren said jokingly.
Although the boy had not answered to his first remark, Xoren decided to go against his normally bad social skills, and introduce himself in an effort to make a friend.
"I'm Xoren, by the way. Are you a genin too?"
With his own introduction out of the way, Xoren breathed easier, and waited for his response. The cold wind blew in his face and stung his uncovered cheeks, but it didn't bother him much, he had spent much time in worse conditions already.

Today's Theme is Power Stance
It seemed that Kiego had gotten so wrapped up in the awe inspiring sight of the village through his electro-sensory vision, that he had not noticed the young boy approaching from behind. It was amazing; each and every detail of the entire village, illuminated by a yellow light, and each villager appearing as a small blue figure in the distance. After the boy Kiego would come to know as Xoren attempted to contact the Raiken, the strong, cold winds that occasionally blew past the bridge would howl loud enough to block out the child's soft voice. However, the second time, when the child tried to introduce himself, Kiego was able to hear. He turned his head to find the source of the voice that had come from behind him, said "Oh, sorry", and swung his legs back over the inside of the bridge, and walked over to the boy.
"Hi, I'm Kiego Raiken. And no, I'm not a Gennin; I'm a Chunnin." Kiego gave Xoren a reassuring smile and a pat on the shoulder, to establish friendly conversation. "You said your name was Xoren? Hmm, I don't think I've seen you around the village. Did you just become a Gennin?" Kiego asked this, because if he answered that he had become a Gennin before the avalanche, Kiego would surely have seen him around the Academy, as Kiego was the assistant teacher for a short time before the avalanche.
Putting his hands on the railing, Kiego once again looked out onto the village. "Its beautiful, isn't it, Xoren?" Kiego couldn't take his eyes away from the awe inspiring sight.

As Kiego got up and introduced himself, Xoren was stunned by the color of his eyes. His eyes seemed to be completely clear, maybe white. Obviously, the guy wasn't blind, but it was a little disconcerting to Xoren. Ignoring the eyes, he did a once-over of the boy, impressed that he looked about Xoren's age, but was already a rank higher than him. Feeling a little inferior, he tried to inquire about his history.
"Wow, how old are you, you look so young to be a Chuunin! You're right though, I just got out of the academy, so I don't really have any field experience yet."
Kiego put his hands back onto the bridge, and Xoren followed his gaze out onto the village.
"It really is amazing, I can't believe how perfectly formed the crystals are, whats your favorite part of the village?"

Kiego looked over to the younger boy, who had now joined him at looking over the village, though he would never see it as Kiego did. Without saying anything, Kiego turned back to looking over the village, and then answered, "Yeah, it's amazing..." Kiego finished. "Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot about your questions." Kiego gave a short chuckle at his forgetfulness; it was so impolite of him, as a noble, to not respond to one during a conversation. But then again, his mind was still a bit shaky after pulling through his comatose encounter with the avalanche...
"I'm actually 15, and I got promoted to Chunnin a bit before the avalanche, during the last Chunnin Exams that were held in Kirigakure. I advanced pretty quickly, you're right. The elders considered me to be quite exceptional, maybe even a prodigy. I just think its luck." After finishing his sentence about luck, Kiego let out another healthy laugh, and patted the Gennin on the back.
Kiego then thought about the boy's gaze at Kiego's eyes, and thought long and hard about his answer. "We...I... don't really have a name for it yet. When a noble of the Raiken clan came of age, their first threshold into becoming a superior ninja was this... electro-sensory vision. With it, I can see each and every living being that has some electrical current running through them. I was also taught to see pure energy, in most, if not all forms. I can't see chakra, but somehow I can see things that don't give off and electrical current, or almost no energy at all!" He sighed and closed his eyes, then continued with, "Its pretty trippy though, getting used to it all. Imagine seeing Kumogakure as a city full of light!" This put a smile on his face something that always made him happy.
Kiego prepared himself in his mind, as he was sure that the child would have more questions for Kiego to answer. But he didn't mind. Besides, without any newcoming Academy Students to teach, Kiego didn't have anything better to do.

Kiego's words seeped into Xoren's mind slowly, making him consider everything he said.
*Wow, Chuunin at age 15... I gotta be like that!*
The rest of what Kiego said astounded Xoren, about seeing a whole area in lights and differently than normal. *But what is normal anyway?* Xoren pondered how different seeing the village through light, instead of color and texture, would be like. *Well I guess I'll never know.*
Xoren sensed that Kiego was waiting for him to continue the conversation, most likely making more comments and asking more questions about his heritage. Feeling a little awkward, he decided to do just that, but to a degree where he wasn't trying to annoy Kiego out of his mind.
"So, tell me about the Raiken clan, it must be interesting to be part of the nobility here."
Xoren waited for a response, and once again took another good hard look at the boy, who was already a rank higher than him, but only a year older.
*He doesn't look as smart as me.. but maybe it's because he was just born higher up than me. I have to push myself to be as good as he is, without the "social advantage". But I can't be bitter, he even said the village elders said he was a prodigy. I'll have to see him in action before I judge him any further.*

(Zentos, the avalanche took up three years of the timeskip, so Kiego actually got promoted to Chunnin at 12)
Today's Theme is Power Stance
Kiego sensed the tension in the air lingering from his last comment. It seemed that aside from Kiego being able to sense that the child had more questions, Xoren's perceptive abilities enabled him to sense Kiego's anticipation for the child's next question. "Hmm, it seems that this child has advanced perceptive capabilities. I must keep an eye on this one." Kiego made sure to be careful about his facial and body expressions; he didn't want to worry the child.
"Well," began Kiego, "the Raiken were a proud and powerful people, one of Kumogakure's founders. We possess the ability to control the flow of electricity in and around us. But we lack the kind of strength one would find in a normal ninja. I'd get massacred by a Taijutsu Chunnin!" Kiego began chuckling as he got midway through his last statement about a Taijutsu ninja. He was still laughing after which and again gave Xoren a strong pat on the back, though this time, it came with a price. Kiego's body was surprisingly weak, despite its strong appearance. This time when Kiego patted Xoren on the back, he received a slight pain in his palm, which would follow with some bruising later. However, he didn't want to worry the child, so Kiego showed no signs of pain or recoil, and placed his hand back on the rope bridge as to cover his palm.
"As for our abilities..." Kiego's smile grew wide, "meet me down at the Training Grounds." Kiego looked over to Xoren with a mischievous smile, formed several hand signs, and said, "Raikou Sumiyaka no Jutsu!" Kiego's body crackled with electricity for a fraction of a second, and disappeared. All the boy would have seen was Kiego's body flash for a moment, and then disappear in a flash of lighting and loud crack of thunder. Kiego was gone.

Akati appeared at the bridge, he had arrived an hour early, mainly to have time for a long warm up. But he was going over the mission in his head too, making sure he had all of it remembered good and proper. He was kicking, punching, running along the wall of the bridge. He wanted to keep himself in a focused state of mind.
Akati doubled check he had everything, and then waited for Kai and Hitomi to show up.

Dressed in normal clothing and not in any ninja attire Hitomi made her way calmly to the bridge. She was in no rush, she knew she had time before it was noon. Shifting her bag with everything she would need or so she thought she would need into a more comfortable position she made her way towards the bridge where a figure was already there waiting. It didn't take her long to realize it was Akati. It seemed he was really excited for the mission, in a way she was too it was going to be her first mission of this sorts and most likely for him as well. With a soft smile on her face she walked up to him calmly. "You ready Akati?"

Akati turned his attention to Hitomi so quickly it was as if he was a tornado. He quickly grabbed her hands like an excited school girl and had a big grin from ear to ear. "Yes! Hitomi-chan, this is going to be great!" He let go of her hands and just started to run across the bridge. He of course stopped, realizing that Kai had yet to arrive. He ran back quickly. "Where is Kai-sensei?"

"Hello!" As if on cue, the object of their thoughts (perhaps...) appeared in the distance, swinging a backpack jauntily and walking with his beloved partner of course. Soon Kai reached them and he took in their attire and packs. Nodding approvingly, Kai said, "Looks like we're ready to go then. You guys have any weapons on you?"

Hitomi giggled softly at Akati's reactions. Wow he really was excited. Still with the smile on her face she was about to answer his question when the very subject appeared. "Hello Kai-sensei." Leaning over towards Akati she commented to him in a whisper. "Speak of the devil uh?" Basically she was making an observation how sometimes when you spoke of somewhere they appeared at that precise moment. Shifting her attention back on their sensei she answered. "No I am not carrying any weapons."

"Yes." He quickly whispered to Hitomi before giving Kai his full attention. Akati suddenly remembered he did have something and quickly threw a bag over the side of the bridge that made a metallic rattling that disappeared as it fell. But he just stood there as if he did nothing afterward. "No weapons Sensei." He put his main bag over his shoulder as an indication he was ready to go.

"AAHH!" Kai yelled as Akati threw a bag of some clinking thing and even Mawagi let loose a bark in surprise. As he was new to the village Kai was neither confident nor foolish enough to go vaulting down the ravine for a bag of (hopefully) cheap weapons anyway. "Ah..." he said again as in the distance a faint "clink" could be heard. That fall probably bent the weapons out of shape anyway.
"Ah..." he repeated before turning to look at Akati and Hitomi. "I did expect you to have them... and to keep them... hidden on you of course." Of all the things... "I said that you couldn't use chakra or jutsu or show your headbands or be identified as shinobi. But I didn't say anything about weapons! That school is dangerous and you need to be able to defend yourself after all. I suppose you could get by with taijutsu, but still..." he started to rub the bridge of his nose, holding in a snicker. Evidently he found this funny. "Well we'll just have to get you both something to whip out just in case you need to surprise your targets or something. I mean, the school is a hotbed for weapons smuggling. Weapons... wouldn't be out of place at all." He gave the bridge of his nose one last pinch.
"Oh well..."
He beckoned Akati and Hitomi to come. "We're out of time... and our contact can get us anything we need there. It's good for you guys to practise your taijutsu and other styles of fighting too along the way. Let's move."
