If you swear at someone, are you insulting them?
If you call them a b***h or something, you are, but what if you say "what the ********" or something?

I'm a good girl in the sense that I don't swear. I do say 'crap' and 'piss', but those aren't really swear words, they're just distasteful. I do say 'damn', but in the sense its supposed to mean XP

Depends on intent and tone.
Like you could be joking around with your buddies, and say "******** you" in a joking tone and you wouldn't be insulting them.
On the other hand, let's say you have a super bitchy cashier, then when you pick up your bags you harshly say, "Have a nice day". It would come across as something mean.
So swearing isn't bad. But, I was always told "swearing makes you sound unitelligent" ....******** that s**t.

I only use crap or frick. But that is it. I think if you use anything else then its bad.

I don't mind when people says bad words, but if they say bad words to me I get a bit sensitive lol.
For example, my ex best friend in real life called me a "fuucker". I was pretty sensitive when she said that. :/
I also didn't like the fact that she swears in front of me and calling me bad words. D:
Some people are ULTRA sensitive. Especially when your best friend says it to you. It just hurts in the heart. =w=;
That's why she is no longer my best friend. :]

And if you delve into the root and actually meaning of "swear words", they aren't all that insulting.
They are just words like anyother...

s**t is a ******** is... a verb with a suckish past tense.
b***h is a noun and verb.
a** is a noun.
d**k is a noun. d**k is another word I say quite frequently. But I say ******** the most.
s**t is POO. (oh, so ******** is... intercourse.
A b***h is a pregnant dog. (Right?)
An a** is your... a**, or a donkey (right?).
And a d**k is... >///>;

There's a time and a place for everything, and in the right time and place swearing is not at all offensive.
