Client: Cubone
Mission: “I thought I could do it! I thought I could use magic and kick tail! Now I’m hurt, bad!”
Dungeon: Dragon’s Den
Floors: 21
Rewards: Draco Plate and ???

“A Cubone?” Was Shiro’s first question upon hearing Jazz read the mission flyer out loud. Actually, his first question had been ‘You can read?’, but as that did not relate to the mission Jazz merely ignored it.

“Yes, he needs help! He’s trapped in the Dragon’s Den!”
The Buizel crossed his arms and gave a skeptic look before sighing and turning to address Liena, Taki and Danny.

“Get some food packed, this is gonna be a long one.” Jazz beamed at him, but his partner ignored it and stepped over to help Liena put some berries inside the small satchel they would carry with them.

“What idiot is this Cubone anyways? To think he could take on a whole den of dragon type.”

The Pichu shrugged as Danny drifted over and gave a whimsical giggle. “Perhaps he was an arrogant aristocrat who believe him some sort of god?”

At this Shiro gave a stifled chuckle and shook his head, though Taki didn’t quite catch the insult until they were headed out the door.

“HEY!” He snapped in a shrill tone, pausing at the back of the group to curse at them before jogging to catch up.

Ahead Shiro sighed, holding the berry satchel up. “This mission is taking all four of the berries and all four of the apples! Better be a damn good reward!”

Liena took the satchel from him with a soothing reply of ‘Don’t worry’ and slung it over her small shoulder.

“Let’s go team!” Jazz cried out from ahead, having bounded forward before them. He thrust a small paw into the air.

“I’m gonna strangle him before today is over with.” His Buizel partner muttered, earning a laugh from both Taki and Danny.

Heading toward the front of the guild, it was then Jazz withdrew his explorer badge and teleported them all to the Dragon’s Den.

---
“WHOA! This place is so creepy!”

The cave standing before the five small Pokemon seemed alive, like a large gaping mouth with jagged stalagmite teeth ready to crunch down on any who would enter its maw.

“You’re the one who picked the mission, get over it.” Shiro hissed, elbowing the small electric mouse before strolling ahead by his self to the entrance.

The others exchanged worried glanced before following quickly, not wanting to be left behind in this scary place.

Inside it proved to be dark enough to cause worry, but not so dark you couldn’t see a few feet in front of you. Still it was discerning to be unable to tell what lay in the path before you, whether it was some ghastly creature only legends told about, or simply one of those terrifying dragon Pokemon who were heard to have a very big attitude and very short fuse.
It wasn’t long before the group was huddled together, walking in a close knit circle behind the Buizel who either didn’t seem to notice the odd echoing screams ahead or was simply ignoring them.

Either way Shiro was a brave one, at least in Jazz’s eyes. The Pichu starred at the back of his friends head as they amble along at a rather slow pace.

It hadn’t been that long ago that he’d met him, only a few weeks before they joined the guild actually! The day was still burned into Jazz’s mind as it was also the day he’d gotten separated from his mother.

Closing both green eyes he could see it clearly as if it had happened moments ago.

They wandered constantly, his mother and him. She was hesitant to stay in one place for too long due to some vicious paranoia she had developed after a very traumatic event. She never spoke of it, only mentioned it in passing and from what the young Pichu could tell it had to do with why he had never met his father.

He’d only heard stories about the Raichu from mom. About how he could take out a herd of Tauros without breaking a sweat, how his Thunder attack could level an entire village if he saw fit to do so, about how he could send even the bravest Pokemon running for their lives by just narrowing his eyes in their direction.

It was those kinds of stories that had caused little Jazz to become fascinated with the idea of being a hero. He’d always wanted to join a Guild and form a rescue team, but mother had never lingered anyplace long enough for him to find one.

It was raining on the day it happened, it seemed it always rained when bad things happened.

Pichu and Pikachu were moving down a small path in the woods, heading for a nearby town to stay for the night when his mother froze, ears perking up. Curiously he had copied her, trying to find the source of sound that had alarmed her.

Then suddenly she had grabbed him by his scruff and flung him into the bushes along the side, demanding that he stay put til she came and got him.

In terror he crouched down as a dark shadow flew overhead and he saw his mother tear off running in the direction they had come.

The shadow blurred and shifted, following after her and then all was quiet.
Jazz continued to wait, shivering, afraid, but when it turned dark and his mother still hadn’t returned he ventured out from the bushes and glanced around.

No sign of the Pikachu anywhere. It was then Jazz decided to search for her and began to make his way down the path they had been on earlier, but every moving shadow made him jump, every noise sent his heart racing so fast it felt as though it would burst out of his chest at any second.

Finally in blind terror he ran into the woods, eyes closed to the horrors he thought he would find, ears flattened to mute the sounds that filled him with fright.

Blindly he stumbled and finally came to a halt after running directly into a tree.

Sniffling and sobbing he sat up and rubbed his head before letting out a loud wail of despair that was quickly cut off by a gray paw slamming over his mouth.

“Do you want to let every Pokemon in a five mile radius to know we’re here?!” The Pichu shook his head, looking up to the gray-colored Buizel who had addressed him.

“Sheesh kid, are you looking for trouble?”

“No. I’m looking for my mama, but I can help you find your friend ‘trouble’ too.”

The Buizel face pawed and introduced himself as Shiro, mentioning that there was a guild around here that they could stay the night at.
The two went to the guild together and they did stay the night, but they never left.

Jazz decided to wait there for his mother, the guild was always bustling with outside activity so there was a chance she would stumble across it if she came by.

Shiro stayed as well, but for reasons he refused to indulge so Jazz had a few guesses.

His current favorite was the one with Shiro being an undercover agent in hiding, but that was-

“JAZZ!”

Ripped from his thoughts, the Pichu looked up in alarm.

“Huh?”

“Welcome back to the real world.” Shiro scoffed, shaking his head. “Try not to daydream in the creepy, evil dungeon full of dragons, okay?”

“Oh. Right.”

The Buizel turned back around to lead the group on and they moved forward with little incident.

“W-what were you thinking about, Jasper?” A soft voice asked, and the Pichu turned to see Liena walking next to him with her usual shy smile.

“Nothing.” He replied instantly, focusing ahead again and the Ralts turned to converse with Danny who flew above them and twirled in circles like a ballerina.

“s**t!” Came the swear from Shiro ahead and suddenly the Buizel went flying back over their heads, nearly landing on Taki, who was as usual taking his sweet time walking behind them.

The smaller Pokemon looked forward to see angry blue eyes gleaming at them in the darkness and then a yellowish head erupted from the shadows with teeth barred.

“A Dragonite!” Danny shrieked, disappearing in a green mist to appear behind Jazz and Liena.

“Oh-Oh my! Wh-what do we do?!” The Ralts hid her face in her hands as the Dragonite opened its mouth and began to charge a Hyper Beam.

“Out of the way! Out of the way!” Shiro, back on his feet, grabbed the two under his arms and made a quick dive to the side down another path with Taki latched into his twin tails.

They hit the ground just as the Hyper Beam blasted forth from the dragon’s mouth, lighting up the entire den.

“That racket was sure to have alerted other Pokemon that we’re here!” Taki snapped angrily, blinking the white spots that appeared before his eyes from the sudden illumination of the cave.

“Then we’d best get the hell out of here and quick!” Shiro replied, but a second too late as a staccato of footsteps echoed from the cavern ahead of ********.” Came the one worded comment from Danny, and before anyone could gape at the young Pokemon cussing; a Bagon dashed forward and slammed itself in a Head but into Jazz’s gut.

The Pichu went flying back and the attacking Bagon received a vicious smack on the head with an Aqua Tail.

“J-Jasper?” Liena had teleported towards the electric type to help him up and he huffed in annoyance.

“I’m fine! Oh! Look out!” A Trapinch had appeared now, snapping its jaws at the two and Jazz blasted it with a Thunder to no avail.

Danny, seeing their distress, appeared before the small dragon and gave an intimidating Scary Face, causing it to run off screaming.

“Tee hee, wuss!” The ghost called, sticking out her tongue. Jazz laughed once, motioning for Liena to stay back and leapt into a Volt Tackle to ground a Swablu that was flapping overhead.

The flying type had no time to react as it was slammed into the cave floor and blasted with electricity.

Finishing that, Jazz pivoted around to assist Taki who was being tossed between two Flygon like a hacky sack.

“This is NOT dignified!” The Eevee shrieked, Jazz leaping up to roll into an Iron Tail, slamming it down on top of one of the Flygon’s heads and causing it to drop Taki into Shiro’s open arms.

Before the Eevee could say a word, Shiro dropped him unceremoniously onto the ground and spun into an Aqua Jet at a Gible, driving it into the cave wall with enough force to send a spider web of cracks along the surface.

Jazz bit his lip, cheeks sparking dangerously and unleashed wave after wave if electricity into a flock of Swablu who flew into their section of the cavern.

One by one they fell like flies on a windowsill and after a moment, with Shadow Balls, Thunder Shocks and Hydro Pumps flying around in a frenzy the onslaught stopped.

The five Pokemon breathed heavily, glancing at one another and slowly smiles formed across each of their faces.

“That was awesome!” Of course Jazz was the first to speak, and although Shiro scowled he was smiling inwardly.

That had been kinda fun, but then again Shiro didn’t do fun most the time. Someone had to be serious; someone had to play ‘parent’ to these guys.
It was a responsibility the Buizel didn’t take lightly and so after a moment he cleared his throat and ushered them all forward again.

“Let’s not linger here.”

Having seen the hint of a smile on his friends face, Jazz was somewhat disheartened to see it go so quickly, but he figured after awhile the Buizel would loosen up and smile more often.

Turning to make sure Liena and Danny were coming as well, he bounded forward with a leap to trot at his partner’s side.

Behind them blue eyes shimmered in the dark; that Dragonite having found another path to the tunnel they walked, the last being too small for it, and was closing in on the explorers with malice.

Oblivious to the peril that crept behind them, Team Rhapsody continued their merry way deeper into the Dragon’s Den.

“I was wondering…” Taki said after a long moment of silence, ignoring the glare Shiro gave him. “Team Rhapsody is about music, right? Are we like a band or something?”

“Kinda.” Was Shiro’s reply to this, while Jazz nodded eagerly along.

“We both play guitar. Shiro plays lead and I play bass, but I know how to play a Saxophone too! Know any instruments?”

The Eevee’s fur bristled with pride and he stuck out his chest. “I am proud to say that I am a genius of music and an excellent piano player.”

“I hope so, we need a decent keyboardist.” The Buizel scratched at his chest, blasting a Hydro Pump at a Trapinch that wandered into their path.

“What about you Danny? Liena?”

The Misdreavus shook her head, smile as she did so. “Not now, but I want to join the band so I’ll find something I can do!”

Liena was slower to reply, glancing to the side in embarrassment.

“U-um, I l-like to sing…somewhat.”

“A vocalist!” Jazz declared excitedly, having learned the entire list of band lingo from Shiro before. “You have to sing for us, Liena! Please!”

They all smiled, aside from Shiro, nodding to her until the poor Ralts hesitantly agreed.

“She never slows down, she doesn’t know why but she knows that when shes all alone it feels like it’s all coming down~
“She won’t turn around, the shadows are long and she fears if she cries~that first tear, the tears will not stop~raining down. So stand in the rain~Stand your ground~Stand up when it’s all crashing down~…”

She stopped then, one small hand lifted to her mouth shyly.

“That was amazing!” Once again, Jazz must shout loudly before anyone else can speak.

“I-I’m still not that g-good…”

“Are you crazy?!” The Pichu threw his arms into the air. “That was the bestest singing I’ve ever heard!”

“Now, now, let’s not exaggerate. Liena, it was lovely but your pitch is off a little. Might I suggest singing a bit louder?” Shiro stated, having a good ear for tones and sounds.

The Ralts said nothing but did nod slowly, taking the critic with a slight smile. “Really? O-okay, I’ll t-try that next time.”

Shiro nodded politely to her before turning around and almost letting out a scream when his eyes met those of that Dragonite that had been following them.

“Jumping Jumpluffs!” Taki called behind him, and they all unleashed a barrage of attacks on the large dragon to no avail. It merely shook them off like water and lunged into a bite at the closest of them, which was Danny.

The Misdreavus, luckily, shifted to her transparent form. The Dragonite’s teeth clamping down onto air and she gracefully slipped away.

“Take out its legs!” Shiro called. “If it can’t stand, it can’t fight!”

Obeying quickly, Jazz charged into a Volt Tackle at the Dragonite’s right leg, while Taki dashed forward in a Quick Attack at its left.

Both hit at the same time, causing the dragon’s knees to buckle and it fell forward onto its stomach.

Without missing a beat, the three males of the team launched their most powerful attacks to knock it out.

After a moment of the assault, the Dragonite’s eyes closed and it gave in.
“We beat it?” Danny asked overhead and the others each nodded slowly in disbelief.

“C’mon, can’t be far now.” Shiro urged once again and they all stepped carefully around the fallen Dragonite into the room it had been trying to keep them from.

“PLEASE! PLEASE HELP ME!”

The second they stepped inside a voice called out, pleading and sobbing; the team turned and saw their client laying on the ground ahead, a small hand reaching out.

“Hold on! We’re com-“

Jazz’s heroic declaration was cut off by a deafening roar and a blue blur flashed overhead. ‘Just like that shadow I saw when I lost mom…’ The Pichu thought, but this creature didn’t just pass by, it landed before them with a resounding thud.

A Salamence!

From behind it more dragons appeared, each unwilling to relinquish their food AKA the Cubone. The team shifted back, forming a line and Shiro sighed quietly.

“This is about to get messy.”

Seconds after he spoke a Dragonair lunged for them, igniting the attack and guild Pokemon and dragon clashed violently.

Danny let out a scream of alarm as she was pulled into a whirlwind by a flock of Swablu, who each got a nasty blast of electricity for their troubles.

An Aqua Jet spun rapidly through the ranks of those half ground type dragons, sending Trapinch and Flygon flying in every direction.

Even sweet little Liena stepped in to fight, tossing out Confusions that sent most the Pokemon she hit reeling wildly as though drunk.

Taki leapt up onto the head of a fallen Dragonair.
“Tonight we dine in hell!” The tiny Eevee roared and leapt into a Bite attack at a Dratini’s throat.

Once again the battle ended abruptly with the enemy either fleeing or having been defeated. Heaving Jazz was the first to recall their client and he trotted over to help the Cubone up.

“Hey, are you okay?”

“I am now. Thanks to you guys.”

“How’d you end up in this mess anyways?” Shiro asked skeptical as always.

“I am versed in magic you know! I’m a shaman! I thought I could take these dragons on my own, but they were too much for me.”

“You know magic?!” Jazz exclaimed.

“Jazz, we’re Pokemon. We all know ‘magic’ in a way.”

“I wish I knew magic!”

“You can shoot lightning out of your face! How is that not ‘magic’!?” But yet again Jazz was not listening and babbled onto the Cubone about how he wished he could fly.

Shiro rolled his eyes and snatched the Pichu’s explorer badge from him to teleport them all back to the guild.

“Damn kids.”

Ziva

Ziva awaited them a bit anxiously at the guild. Though her face did not show this, nor did it show her body relaxing as they reappeared. As they all settled a bit, she fluttered over. "Welcome back, Team Rhapsody." She nodded at them, showing recognition. She noted the Cubone's condition in her mind, and then continued, "All of you have braved a mission that probably should have been higher ranked. You have all risked your lives for the life of this young Cubone. I am very proud of all of you, and I hope your rewards are well found." The Cubone smiled brightly, Draco Plate in hand. His other reward? Well, himself, of course.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Within the next couple of days, an odd group of embarrassed dragon's showed up at Team Rhapsody's door. The giant, oddly familiar Salamence was leading the pack. Determined. Behind him, the Dragonite young Taki had stood upon, the Gible that was smashed into a wall, and the small Swablu that was Volt Tackled. All of them were quiet, and a bit ashamed. All but the Salamence. He had an odd smiled plastered on his face.

"We're aliiiivveee!" Was Jazz's first response, as usual, when they arrived back in the guild. He fell to the floor, hugging it.
"Get up, moron." The Cubone behind them grinning.
"So we got a new team mate! Lovely!" Danny cooed, hovering overhead.
"Looks like we got more too." Shiro nodded to the door as some dragons stepped inside.
The first he saw was that Salamence. "YOU!" The Buizel snapped, rushing to attack, but Jazz grabbed his tail.
"Hey now! Let him speak!"
"Thank you, young Pichu." The Salamence grumbled in a deep tone. "I would like to join this little....group of yours."
"Why?" Shiro hissed.
"Your all rather strong for such small beings, I wish to train with you."
Jazz beamed and stepped forward.
"Okay, but you cant go eating anyone alright!"
The Salamence nodded once and followed them out.

Client: Sneasel
Mission:
"Oh no! I dropped my Razor Claw! I cant evolve without it! Get it back for me, please!"
Dungeon: Dragon's Den
Floors: 18
Rewards: Dragon DanceTM + 400PD

"So you want to get stronger?" Shun said as he gazed upon the Sneasel. "Yes I do, Razor Claws are very rare so it is important that I get it back" The pokemon explained. Shun nodded and turned to Ronin.

"Your ice fang is going to be really handy today" He said. Ronin nodded and bared his fangs. "Now, what's the reward" He said. Sneasel gazed upon Shun. "I'll give you a TM for the move Dragon Dance and 400 PD" He said.

Ronin turned it's back. "Your outa luck kid, you need to pay at least 1000 PD for us to do a job" He said. "1000 PD?!" The Sneasel exclaimed. "B-but I on--" Shun snapped at both of them and they quieted instantly.

"Ronin this is our first mission, we'll have to settle for this. Also we can sell the TM for some cash if I can't use it" He said. Ronin nodded reluctantly. "Fine then.." He muttered. The two pokemon headed off toward the den.

The next morning they arrived, after camping for one night they were completely refreshed. "You ready for this?" Shun asked as he looked into the dark dungeon. "Of course" Ronin said. Shun nodded and the two walked in.

B1F

The two arrived in a maze of rocky hallways and clearings. Shun and Ronin were squinting to see through the darkness. Shun reached out to touch the wall. He felt something hard and bumpy. He rubbed his hand on the object for a while before jumping back.

"Show yourself" Shun commanded. A barrage of red material flew toward Shun and sent him flying. "Ronin" He called out as he got to his feet. Ronin, who was near a small room entrance stopped in his tracks. He turned around and gasped to see a wild pokemon.

"What are you doing here!" The pokemon exclaimed. "We aren't here to fight you" Shun said. The pokemon seemed to be very agitated. "How dare you touch my head as I sleep," He yelled. "I'll teach ya some manners" He shouted before headbutting Shun in the stomach.

Shun felt the force of a stick of dynamite exploding on his body. He lost all feeling in his body. He held his stomach in pain. "R--" He couldn't utter a word, the attack knocked the air out of him.

He growled before scratching the Bagon in the face. "Arrg!" It yowled in pain. Scratch marks appeared across it's eyes. It yowled again as it was bite by Ronin's ice-cold fangs. The Bagon fell to the floor unconcious. "Wow, that was a tough pokemon" He said as he held his stomach.

"Really and I took it out in one hit!" Ronin said as he admired his own strength. He didn't realize that the scratch to the face did alot of damage. "Help me up" Shun said. Ronin immediatley assisted his partner to his feet and led him to the entrance.

B2F

Shun and Ronin were resting against a stone wall. Shun got to his feet. "Ok, I'm ready to go" He said, Ronin got up as well and the two continued to head deeper into the den. They arrived at an stone bridge it looked unstable. "Let's test it" Shun said. He let his tail touch the bridge and it collapsed.

"Agh!" Ronin yelped in fear as the half of the bridge collapsed. Shun looked around. "We need to find a safer way around" Shun said. Ronin looked around and spotted a pokemon with wings. Ronin wasnt the brightest bulb in the world, he rushed so fast he accidently tackled the large pokemon.

It woke up and blinked twice. "Huh? Who? Wha?" He babbled as he got to his feet. Shun was a little afraid of this large pokemon. "Your a Flygon" Shun said. "Hm? Oh yeah I am" The dragon said as it flapped it's wings. "Um, do you think you could take us across this bridge?" Shun asked.

The pokemon flapped it's wings and swished it's tail. "I guess" It said as it stomped on the ground. Shun smiled and climbed his way onto the pokemon's back. Ronin followed, the pokemon began to flap it's wings hastily until it started to hover.

It landed on the other side and let the two pokemon off. "Be careful," He said as it started to swipe it's head side to side. "Your gonna get to the grassy floors, there will be light, there will be stronger pokemon" He said before flying off.

Shun bared his claws. "Don't worry about us" He said before walking through the next entrance.

B3F

They emerged in a large mountain-side. Shun was very confused. "If we are going underground, then why is it sunny here?" Shun thought. There were in what it seemed to be a garden. Shun walked into the grass and saw a small cloud. "Hm?" He thought. He saw a small blue head pop out. "Swaaaablu" It yawned before heading back to sleep.

"Let's g--" Shun couldn't finish his sentence before a the ground under them started to tremor. They turned around to see a large orange pokemon with an enraged look on his face. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO MY BABIES!!" He shouted. Shun took a step back from the angry Dragonite.

"This dragon is extremely enraged" Shun thought as bared his claws. Before he could launch an attack the Dragonite shot a blast of powerful breath at Shun.

Shun dodge rolled out of the way and countered by scratching the dragon in the face. It yowled and fell to it's knees. Dragonite disappeared in a split second. A seering pain went across his back. Shun blacked out.

"Wake up...Shun" Shun opened his eyes. He was staring at Ronin who seemed to be tending to his partner. "Get up" the shark commanded. Shun got up to see he was in a large patch of grass. "Where are we" Shun asked.

"Well that Dragonite hit you with a dragon claw..I took you and ran away, that Dragonite is still chasing us" He said. "Why doesn't my back hurt anymore?" Shun asked. Ronin lifted a half-eaten oran berry in the air. "This little bad boy did us a favor" He said.

Shun smiled and got to his feet. "Let's go" He said taking his hat off. He looked into the sky. He looked in the air and saw what appeared to be the sun.

"How deep are we?" Shun asked. "B9F" Ronin replied. His stomach began to grumble. "You took me this far?" Shun asked. Ronin bared his teeth. "Yeah it wasnt a big deal". Shun took the nap-sack and dug inside. He quickly took an apple from it and offered it to Ronin.

"Here you earned this" He said. Ronin ate the whole apple in one bite. "Let's keep going" Shun said they quickly found a hole in the ground and jumped in.

B10F

They reached a cave like area. They looked and saw a razor claw on the floor. "Hm, the Sneasel said B18F" Shun said as he reached to pick up the item. A flash of light blinded him, when he looked he saw a Gible with the razor claw in his hand.

"Sh-shiny.." He said. "Hey that's ours!" Shun said. "Sorry finders keepers!" The pokemon shouted before burrowing underground. "Arg!" Ronin growled. "What now?" He asked. Shun stared into the hole that the Gible made.

"This has turned into a pursuit mission" Shun said and jumped down the hole. The shark followed.

B11F

They landed in another cave. They felt another tremor under their feet. "WHERE ARE YOU!" They recognized the voice to be the same Dragonite from before. Shun and Ronin quickly dashed behind a boulder. An orange flash of light zoomed past it. "That pokemon is really fast" Shun said before they continued to travel.

They ran into the same Gible. "Hey stop followin' me will ya!" He shouted before digging further into the dungeon. "Comon'" Shun said, Ronin nodded in reply and the two jumped down.

Team HTPN

Prologue:

"What do you mean?" Zelos asked Sheena, his face smiling awkwardly. "Why this mission?" He chuckled as he read the mission over again.
"We need to take this mission!" Sheena shouted, slapping Zelos across the face with her leafy arms. This wasn't something she could control, she never had arms before. "We need to take this mission because of the baby Swablu!"
"You have such a large soft spot!" Kurogane growled; Kurogane wanted to take a mission off of the Bounty Board.
"Ugh, Kuro-Kuro-Poo, quit being so heartless." Jessica purred, nodding onto Sheena to continue on her chat.
"Anyway, this Swablu is a little baby..." Sheena cried, holding onto her child. "Just image one of our kids stuck in a tree with a Garchomp keeping her from moving!" Sheena cried out, hugging Julian tighter. Christian however, loved Zelos better then Sheena.
"Anyway, let's get going..." Diep trembled, trying to pull the courage to say the right words.

Entrance to the Dragon's Den:

"So this is the Dragon's Den..." Jessica purred, looking back to her team. It dramatically grew since the last time. "So what are we planning to do..."
"Listen carefully..." Kurogane whispered, closing his eyes to try to listen more and more. "I can hear it...a small little cry for help..."
"Then we must hurry!" Sheena cried out, but then realizing one huge difference. "Diep, you stay here with Julian and Christian!" She ordered, looking at the Weedle who was shorter than both of the kids.
"Wha-wha-what?!" Diep cried out, looking at the two twins, who started crying for their mommy and daddy. "I didn't sign up to this team just to babysit!"
"Shut it!" Jessica roared at the Weedle, her face right in front of Diep's body. Scaring the hell out of the poor Weedle, Diep ran towards Kurogane, hiding behind the armor. "You think hiding behind Kurogane will help anything?" Jessica purred as she started to walk away.
"Please Diep, can you please stay and watch the kids?" Sheena pleaded, tears in her eyes.
"Erm...alright..." Diep answered, filled with empathy and guilt for some reason.
"Well that settles it! Me, Sheena, Kurogane, and Jessica will go into the Dragon's Den and come back for you." Zelos cheered, laughing a bit as he started to enter. But as the team started to enter the den, Julian and Christian started to cry.
"Daw...please stop..." Diep awkwardly laughed, trying comfort the two kids.

B1: 5 Strange happening...

"Daw...it breaks my heart..." Sheena cried, turning to Jessica. "Leaving Julian and Christian behind..."
"Well a mother can't protect them from everything. Plus you have Diep to take care of them..." Jessica smiled as she continued walking, Zelos and Kurogane behind teh two of them.
"So what do you think the outcome is going to be?" Zelos asked Kurogane, looking at him strangely. Something about him seemed like the original Kurogane, but something else gave a different vibe. A more violent vibe was coming out of Kurogane.
"I'm guessing it's going to be the same as always. Battle to the very end." Kurogane said calmly, closing his eyes as he continued ahead.
"Guys...I think we might have a problem..." Sheena muttered, stopping dead in their tracks. Looking down, there was an enormous footprint!
"Holy crap...what kind of pokemon would leave this thing behind?!" Jessica gasped as she jumped into the footprint. The footprint was bigger than her body, and if you put Kurogane's body, it still wouldn't be enough to fill it. "Either this is a horrible prank or we're up against something more...vicious."
"Whatever it is, we will destroy it..." Kurogane shrugged off the intimidation, continuing ahead of the team.

B2: 4.5 The rude awakening...

Walking ahead of the group, Jessica and Sheena started talking amongst themselves. Something about the Dragon's Den gave them a bad vibe, especially since so far they haven't seen any pokemons. Any innocent by standers nor enemies; nothing but the strange darkness that lingered around them.
"Something about this place seems strange..." Sheena whispered, turning to Jessica who had the exact same thing.
"It's strange how there's nobody here..." Jessica purred, her eyes moving from side to side. There was something about this darkness that was starting to even scare her.

"I think this is really strange..." Zelos complained, turning to Kurogane who was paying no attention to him. "Kuro-kuro-poo?" Zelos questioned, trying to figure out what happened to the Aron that use to be there before.
"You have to focus on the task at hand..." Kurogane growled, turning his head away from Zelos.
"Alright, tell me what's wrong!" Zelos shouted, jumping in front of the Lairon, refusing to move.
"Quit being an idiot...we have a Swablu to save!" Kurogane growled, shoving Zelos off to the side.
"O geez, your turning more and more like Jessica..." Zelos muttered, following behind Kurogane. He knew it was hopeless, but he wasn't about to give up figuring out what was wrong.

B3: 4.0 The first encounter...

Upon entering the the third floor...the team encountered a strange being...something in the darkness was following them since the first floor.

"Something about this darkness..." Kurogane started to speak, but he couldn't finish. His eyes started to widen as he soon figured out something was following them. "Why didn't I realize this sooner?!" He thought to himself as he turned around to see nothing but just more darkness.
"What is it Kuro?" Zelos asked, stopping and turning around with him. "Did you see something?" He asked staring into the complete darkness.
"I don't know..." Kurogane replied, turning to Sheena. "Sheena, do me a favor and use your Sunny Day..."
"Why?" Sheena asked as she walked towards the two boys.
"Just spread a little light here..." Kurogane simply replied; the answer was too vague for Sheena to do anything else.
"Kurogane...whatever your feeling...I think I feel it too..." Jessica whispered, standing next to Kurogane. "You think something is following us..." She whispered, Kurogane merely nodded.
"Well here goes nothing~" Sheena cheered as she started to dance around. Her face started to glow as a ball of light came from her mouth. "Sunny Day!" She squealed as the room erupted into a bright light.
"UGH!" A strange voice shouted from within the darkness. The light blinded the room, showing everything that hid within it. Kurogane was right...something was following them!
"There it is!" Jessica shouted as she saw a tail fin fly through the room.
"Don't attack!" Kurogane ordered, holding Jessica back from striking into the darkness. "If you would've noticed we're not completely alone..."
"Well of course we're not alone! THERE'S A STINKING POKEMON IN HERE TRYING TO STRIKE US..." She stopped as soon as Sheena pointed to one of the many holes in the ground. This floor wasn't just a room, it was a home. Slowly, Trapinches steadily came out of the holes, crying for something, most likely food.
"Don't worry darlings! Daddy's getting food!" The figure shouted as a Flygon revealed itself from the darkness. "And I see that we might have a full course meal!" He shouted as he opened his mouth, a ball of energy forming.
"Get behind me!" Kurogane shouted as he lowered his body into a strange stance.
"Too late! HYPER BEAM!" The Flygon announced, the beam colliding straight into the team. Upon impact there was an explosion, leaving the Trapinches crying out of fear. The small pokemons returned into their homes, waiting for the excitement to be over with. "HA, DADDY'S GOT FOOD!" The Flygon shouted cockily.
"Not so fast!" Zelos shouted as he jumped out of the smoke. "Have a taste of this!" The Lanturn shouted, his antennas sparking violently. "DISCHARGE!"
"Idiot!" Jessica shouted at Zelos, but it was too late. The electrical charge struck the Flygon, but as Zelos landed, the effects seemed like nothing.
"What happened?!" Zelos gasped as he tried to figure out why the discharge didn't do any damage to the Flygon.
"He's also a ground type!" Jessica hissed as she lowered herself ready to pounce. "Making electric attacks useless..." She jumped into the air, coming in close towards the Flygon, her paw pulled back. "How about this?!" She purred as she used Slash on the Flygon, throwing him onto the ground.
"Your lucky..." The Flygon panted as he collided onto the ground. "I had to recharge after that attack...but tell me how did you block it?" He laughed, picking himself up from the ground.
"I guess you never heard of the attack Protect!" Kurogane shouted, running towards the Flygon. "And your really going to enjoy this attack! DRAGON RUSH!" Kurogane jumped into the air, slamming his body into Flygon's about three times before something strange happened. As the fourth strike was about to hit, Kurogane's body was thrown back into the ground.
"I guess you didn't know I could use protect too!" Flygon laughed as opened his mouth once more. "Supersonic!" He laughed as a strange beam erupted from his mouth and struck Kurogane directly. "Now your my puppet!" He laughed as the Flygon retreated into the darkness.
"COWARD COME BACK AND FIGHT!" Jessica growled, unaware of the change that was happening to Kurogane.
"Erm...guys..." Sheena muttered, watching Kurogane's body twitch. "I think something's wrong with Kurogane..."
"Nothing's wrong with Kurogane..." The Lairon's body pulled itself up, but his eyes weren't Kurogane's. "But something is definitely going to happen..." Chuckling historically, Kurogane's body started walking towards the others.
"Wait what?!" Zelos jumped back, retreating to the rest of the team. "I thought supersonic just confuses others...not let others control them!"
"Flygon's supersonic...something about it is different..." Jessica calmly explained, stepping forward towards Kurogane. "Find Flygon and you'll solve this problem...I've always wanted to see who would win in a fight between him and me..." She purred as she readied herself for battle.

B4: 3.5 Separate Battles for Divided Hearts

The Team was split up! Flygon has retreated onto the next floor, hiding within the darkness waiting for Team HTPN to kill one another. However, he wasn't expecting two to come after him!

Jessica and Kurogane are about to start the battle of a lifetime...but what's happening at the Entrance? Let's go see...

"Mommy?" Julian stopped crying as a figure started to form out of the entrance of the Dragon's Den.
"Mommy? But Mommy is deeper inside!" Diep shouted at the charmander, who didn't listen.
"Mommy!" Julian shouted, running towards the figure who wouldn't reveal itself out of the darkness.
"O no!" Diep shouted as had to think of something to do. Without another though, he shot a string shot at Julian who fell straight down to the ground. Christian however, he was swinging on a tree branch, waiting for his daddy to come back. "Who's there! Show yourself!" Diep shouted, looking into the darkness waiting for an answer.
"Ma Ma!" Julian shouted, trying to break free from the string shot.
"Julian come back here!" Diep shouted, shooting another string shot at the captured charmander, and dragging him back. "That's not mama!" Diep tried to put some sense into the newborn, but so far Julian was being nothing but stubborn.
"Come here..." The figure spoke, a claw appearing out of the darkness, motioning them to come closer. "Mommy is waiting for you...Daddy too..." The voice tempted the two little ones, trying to get them to come in closer.
"Don't listen to that creeper!" Diep ordered, shooting a string shot at Christian to keep him from falling into the temptation.
"Come..." The voice shouted, scaring all three of them. "Come OR I WILL COME GET YOU!"
"Awh crap..." Within a second, all you could hear from the entrance were terrifying screaming! And with that, everyone from the entrance disappeared as if they were never there in the first place.

Meanwhile...

"Jessica..." Kurogane growled, stomping his feet into the ground. He was definitely getting ready to defend himself from any incoming attacks from Jessica.
"Snap out of this Kurogane..." Jessica purred, readying herself for a pounce. "Or else I'll have no other choice then to snap you out of it!"
"Who says I'm in anything?" Kurogane chuckled, his eyes were still different colored from what they were suppose to be originally. There were purple instead of the usual light blue.
"Well talking isn't going to get us anywhere!" Jessica hissed as she jumped into the air, opening her mouth to strike. "Shadow Ball!" She shouted, shooting down a ball of darkness.
"Protect!" Kurogane countered, creating a barrier to defend himself. "Metal Burst!" Kurogane acted, jumping from his position and striking Jessica before she landed on her feet.
"Ah!" Jessica cried out as she felt all her weight go against her. Soon, Kurogane stopped moving and gently fell back onto the ground, whereas Jessica's body kept moving towards the wall, slamming her into it. "Not bad...not bad..." Jessica laughed, landing on her two feet. But you could already tell she was heavily damaged. Let's see how well you do against a Thundershock!" Jessica shouted, jumping into the air once again. Descending along side with her were multiple electric bolts; running along side Jessica ready to strike. "Combo!" She purred as her eyes widen. The electrical bolts strike Kurogane, temporarily paralyzing him. "FIRE SPIN!"
"FIRE SPIN?!" Kurogane shouted in shock.
"Yes, FIRE SPIN!" Jessica repeated as she gently landed onto Kurogane's body on her hind legs. She started to spin violently as a flame started to form from her tail. Soon her whole body was consumed, drilling into Kurogane's head. "Come on...shock him enough to know he's confused! Wake up! Come on Kurogane wake up!"
"Ah!" Kurogane shouted as he felt both attacks take place over his body. He knew he had one escape way, but what are the chances of him successfully pulling it off. His feet were pounded into the ground, making it harder for him to move. So he couldn't simply run out of the way. DAMN, he had to stop thinking and act. Trust his instincts and that's what he did. "PROTECT!" He shouted, trying to successfully pull it off, but it didn't. The protect attack failed him; the barrier formed for about a second then disappeared. "AHHHHHHHH!" Kurogane shouted out of the pain, the flames were swallowing him and the electrical currents from the thunder shock was still affecting him. When was the pain going to stop...?

Another Meanwhile

As Zelos and Sheena made their way closer to the Flygon, two holes in the ground appeared. Two snapping Trapinches growled out, their eyes enraged. "We won't let you hurt him!" They shouted, jumping out of the holes and digging under the ground.
Rolling his eyes, Zelos jumped towards the hole and shot a massive hydro pump into one of the holes. Soon erupting out of the ground was a Trapinch, flown across the sky. They had no time for this! They had to go after Flygon before he got away.
Sheena, carefully stepping side to side, looked carefully for any signs of an attack. But as she took her next step, the Trapinch flung from underneath her causing her to fly several inches off the ground. "LEAF STORM!" She shouted, shooting tremendous amounts of leaves at the Trapinch, causing him to faint due to the power. "Well that was new..." She laughed as she shook her head. "O yeah, Flygon! Let's go!" She shouted as she ran past Zelos towards the next set of stairs.

B5: 3.0 The Truth is Revealed...

For a short while, Flygon has really outdone himself. He ran from the third floor all the way to the fifth!

"Flygon where are you!" Zelos shouted, trying to figure out why he ran in the first place.
"Sunny Day!" Sheena squealed, trying to bring some light into the dark room. "Do you see him?" Sheena asked, looking around for any signs of a Flygon.
"No...I don't..." Zelos simply answered, thought he question still rained in his head. Why did Flygon leave without his children...
"Is it me or did Flygon just leave..." Sheena asked, turning to Zelos waiting for an answer.
"What do you mean?" Zelos merely replied, his thoughts still on his question.
"Why did Flygon just leave...I mean he was winning too!" Sheena pointed out, moving her leafy arms around. "I mean...if your winning a battle you wouldn't just leave...unless you were scared of something..."
"But if you were scared of something you wouldn't just leave your children around..." Zelos added, trying to make sense of everything that was happening.
"Your right..." A familiar voice laughed, coming from all directions in the darkness above them. "However, the Sunny Day attack doesn't light all the darkness..." The Flygon pointed out before continuing his story. "I wouldn't leave my children behind, unless I knew they were safe. And fortunately for me, they are!"
"What do you want?!" Zelos shouted out to the Flygon, trying to find some answers.
"I want you gone! He told me if I got rid of you, all my children will be safe!" The Flygon shouted back, a tearing falling from the sky.
"Who is He?!" Sheena cried out, trying to be empathetic. "If someone has your child, we can save him or her!"
"No! You can't save her!" The Flygon shouted out, revealing himself from the darkness. Landing in front of the two, he continued speaking. "You can't save her cause she has to learn how to fly herself..." The Flygon turned his head in shame.
"What do you mean...?" Sheena continued to pester, butting her nose somewhere she didn't belong.
"It was a wish from her mother..." The Flygon answered, he didn't know why he was answering questions of the enemy. He just knew he had to get it out. "You see...that Swablu is my godchild after her parents passed away. It was their wish for their small child to learn how to fly on it's own. But lately, I've been just pampering it. She never had a reason to fly if I was around..."
"So, she just stayed in the nest because she never had a reason to fly..." Zelos merely repeated.
"Exactly, but now she has to fly but she can't! I haven't taught her..."
"But I thought you said that her parents didn't want you to teach her..." Sheena questioned, confused a bit.
"Why am I even telling you guys this! As long as He's around, nobody will be happy!" The Flygon cried out, taking flight once again. "Now, GO!" He shouted, spewing a flame thrower onto the ground.
"I got this!" Zelos shouted, jumping in front of the flame thrower. "Hydro Pump!" Countering the flame thrower, by spewing heavy liquids.
Jumping onto the Hydro Pump, Sheena used her leafy hands as a boat as she was flung towards the Flygon. "Calm down! We can help!" She shouted, but as soon as she said those words, the Flygon knocked her down with it's tail. But with his attention pulled away from Zelos, he lost focused and was blown into the wall by the Hydro Pump. "GRASSWHISTLE!" Sheena shouted, putting the Flygon to sleep before something else would to happen. "What are we going to do..." Sheena wondered after putting the Flygon to sleep.
"I guess we have to keep going..."

Shortly after saying that, two familiar faces reappeared from the two floors below. Jessica and Kurogane, looking all beat up with dirt all over their bodies came to the group. And for some reason, they were laughing.
"I take it Jessica won?" Sheena giggled as she saw Kurogane's expression. Something about his smile was familiar, as if it was the same Kurogane from before the Guildmaster Event.
"Nah...I won." Kurogane said, laughing a bit. But soon his smile faded away as he saw the sleeping Flygon resting on the ground.
"I won." Jessica whispered softly to Sheena who merely laughed. "Anyway, let's keep on going! We have like twelve more foors until we get there!" Jessica purred, trying to get Kurogane's mind off of the Flygon. What really happened during the battle, nobody will ever know.

As the team walk down to the next floor, something happened. Flygon smiled...

B6 - B8: 1.0 Secrets Die Hard

"Let's eat!" Zelos complained as he started digging into the supply box, pulling out two big apples. "Sheena and I will share one, and Jessica and Kurogane the other."
"Fine by me..." Jessica purred as Kurogane merely turned his head in stubbornness.
As the team sat down to eat, Sheena began poking into other people's business once again. "So what exactly happened back there?" Sheena asked Jessica, wondering why they came back with smiles.
"Nothing happened..." She blushed as Kurogane kept that cool, insensitive look.
"Don't lie..." Zelos pointed out, as he nibbled on his half of the big apple.
"I'm serious nothing happened..." Jessica kept being stubborn and refused to talk.
"Then why are you blushing?" Sheena pointed out, her eyes opening just a little bit to reveal a calm face.
"No reason..." Jessica turned her face away from the others, trying to keep away from eye contact.
"Remember, secrets are usually revealed one way or another." Zelos laughed as he finished biting his apple. "Especially in this team..."
"Very true." Sheena laughed as she hugged Zelos tightly.
"Yeah...This girl right here spills everyone's secrets." Zelos laughed as he pulled away from Sheena.
"I do not!" Sheena laughed in disagreement.
"Alright, everyone except your owns." Zelos added, laughing a bit. Swallowing the rest of his apple, he stood up and waited for everyone else to finish. "Hurry up you guys, we're almost kinda halfway there!" He laughed as he started walking.
Sheena, Jessica, and Kurogane nodded in agreement. Hastily finishing their apple peaces the team started moving. But before hand, Jessica and Kurogane exchanged on quick glance and they both smiled. Something happened, Sheena knows it, and she was going to figure it out if it was the last thing she did.

- 2 Big Apples ; + 3 belly slots

B9: 3.5 A String Mystery

As the team continued onto the next floor, Sheena noticed something. Something strange, it was as if Diep was around. How would she know? There was a trail of string shots bombs going in a single path!
"What can this mean?" Sheena asked the team, pointing at the on going trail of string shots.
"Simple...Diep failed to watch the kids. They ran in after us, missed us somehow, and then continued forward." Jessica purred, disappointed a bit.
"How the hell would he do that?" Kurogane growled as he stepped forward and looked up at the service of the Dragon's Den. "How could he shoot backwards? Besides, he's a Weedle, they don't move very fast." Kurogane pointed out, turning to Zelos to see if he had anything to say about it.
"Or...we could ask that Gible over there if he knows anything about it..." Zelos said with a duh afterwards. The team looked around to see a Gible, covered in a string shot attack!
But, as soon as they got close enough to the Gible for the Gible to notice them, the Gible started shouting. "Get the hell away from here!" He ordered, biting the string shot to get loose, but it wouldn't break. "Get or else I'll make you get!"
"Struggling there?" Kurogane mocked as he bit onto the string shot and pulled it over the Gible. "Now tell us, what do you know about the string shot?!"
"As if I'm telling you!" The Gible growled, looking at the team with full courage.
"Tell us or I'm making you my next meal!" Jessica hissed, her fangs glaring at the Gible.
"I rather die then tell the likes of you!" The Gible shouted in with aggression, ready to fight. "But I could tell you, if you agree to one term."
"And what would that term be..." Sheena glared at the Gible, suspicious of the activity about to happen.
"I challenge you to a fight!" He pointed towards Kurogane, but his eyes were pointing towards Jessica.
"Too scared to fight who your really after?" Kurogane merely said, but agreeing to the fight anyway.
"What makes you say that?!" The Gible shouted, ready to bite Kurogane's head off.
"Your body says one thing, but your eyes say another." Kurogane pointed out, but he simply shrugged and sighed. "If it's a fight your looking for, it's a fight you'll get."
"Good! Following this trail!" The Gible ordered, pointing at all the string shots. "And I'll see you on the next floor, if you win I'll tell you everything you need to know about the string shots, along with how to finish what you started..." The Gible laughed as he ran off to the next floor.
"Wait...how do you know about our mission?!" Zelos shouted after the Gible, but the Gible merely laughed and continued to run off.

B10: 3.0 The Great Fall

The next floor of the dungeon was highly unusual. Something about it, gave a battlefield vibe...that and because it was an actual battlefield! Created from string shots...strange huh?

"Well this is like de-ja-vu..." Sheena pointed out, seeing all the webs tangling everywhere. The walls of the cave, was covered by webs, and a huge enormous square hole covered most of the field. It extended from one side of the room, to the other. The walls basically was where the hole ended, making it impossible to pass without going on the webs.
"Where's Gible?" Jessica purred, her eyes showing how much she distrusted the little brat that ran ahead of them.
"I'm right here." The Gible roared, standing behind a bunch of webs on the other end of the room. "Now, Lairon battle!"
"Battle? On what?!" Kurogane retaliated, looking at their current field, battle would be impossible unless he sprouted wings and flew.
"The webs!" The Gible laughed, jumping up and down on the string shot arena. "This place will challenge many things, especially how well you battle in strange places." Trying to act wise and crap, the Gible's foot fell in through one of the openings. "Ah!"
"Gible, if we battle here chances are we'll fall down to the next floor or so!" Kurogane pointed out, looking back to his team. "The only people who could leave through here without destroying the webs are probably just Zelos and Sheena..."
"MOTHER!" Sheena gasped as she heard the word run through her mind. She fell to the ground, her head sweating for no reason at all.
"Sheena?! What's wrong?!" Jessica hissed, looking at her teammate, then at the Gible. "What did you do to her?!" She growled, opening her mouth releasing a devastating shadow ball.
"What the hell?!" Gible shouted, jumping out of the way just in time. The webs started to break loose, as string shots faded in the darkness below them. "Why are you so haste? I didn't do anything to her!"
"Leave him alone..." Sheena groaned, Zelos by her side to lift her off the ground. "I just had a really bad feeling...I heard Julian shout for me..."
"Really?" Zelos asked, clearing his head for any signs of Christian calling for him. "I don't hear it..."
"Well call it mother intuition..." Sheena frowned, looking at the Gible. "Tell me what you know about the string shot trail! Where are my kids?!"
"O, you mean the Charmander, Chingling, and Weedle?" The Gible laughed as he started to jump up and down on the webs. "I won't tell you until I get the battle I'm looking for!" He shouted, his eyes staring at Kurogane.
"I can not battle on this terrain..." Kurogane said shamefully. If he even took one step on this terrain, he would fall down to how many floors below them. "But I'm not afraid to try!" He growled, ready to take a step forward.
"No, Kurogane!" Sheena outbursted, stepping onto the webs. "I'll battle for him!"
"You?" Gible laughed, almost falling over. "But your just a Sunflora, hardly a challenge for someone as powerful as I."
"Then what are you waiting for? Hit me with your best shot...That is, unless your scared." Sheena taunted; this side of Sheena scared the team. This side of Sheena was something you would ever see. It was both inspiring and scary.
"Scared?" Gible shook over the laugh, ready to strike. "I'll take you and your pathetic little team down!"
"Then what are you waiting for..." Sheena laughed, jumping closer towards the Gible.
"URGH..." The Gible's face was getting red, as if he was about to explode. "That does it! I'm going to show you your place in this world! The strong will survive against the likes of you!" Opening his mouth for an attack, he noticed something was happening. The webs, they were attracting themselves to her. "It looks like I have the upper hand here!" He laughed as he jumped off of the webs. "Dragon Breath!"

B10 - B14: 1.0 The Battle of Discoveries

"Sunny Day!" Sheena shouted as a ball of sun erupted out of her mouth with haste. "Solar Beam!" She shouted just in time, the beam struck the dragon breath with full force, just before it struck her face.
"Good, but not good enough!" The Gible shouted, jumping into the air, spinning his body rapidly. "Let's see how well you fight in a sand storm!"
"Petal Dance!" Sheena grunted, trying to counter the upcoming sandstorm. The two spun with grace; Sheena with her magical petals. Gible with his raging sandstorm. However, one thing that Gible didn't predict was what the sandstorm was going to do with the webs. Slowly, sand was attaching itself onto the webs, making them less durable. "I won't let you stand in my way of protecting my child!" Sheena shouted as the petals collided with the sand.
"AH!" Gible shouted, feeling the harsh wind from the petal dance. "I won't give up!" He struggled to say, pulling back his arm; Gible used a fearsome Sand Tomb. Blocks of sand started to gather around Sheena, canceling her Petal Dance. "And with that, see you soon." The Gible laughed as Sheena fell like a rock into the sandy webs. The webs however, broke and went down onto the next level, which was basically the exact thing, webs! Just more intertwine and harder to break.
As Sheena collided onto the web, the sand broke releasing her from her tomb, but she could hear the webs snapping. "RAZOR LEAF!" Sheena shouted, throwing her arms to release a storm of leaves. Cutting the webs above her to bring down Gible onto her level.
"Ah!" Gible shouted, landing on his back. The webs attached themselves to him, causing him to be immobilized. "Get these things off of me!" The Gible shouted, his face getting more and more red. "Twister!"
"Leaf Storm!" Sheena shouted, countering Gible's spinning body. Leaves started to shoot everywhere in the room, cutting through web after web. However, the Gible managed to avoid the attacks. The Twister attack, he used on himself. Releasing him from the waves, but also sending the Leaf Storm elsewhere.
"Cute, but let's see how well you do to an actual attack!" The Gible growled, breaking free from the twister. "Shadow Claw!" Without knowing it, Sheena countered the attack by her old habit. Releasing a Leech Seed whenever she got scared! "What?!" The Gible shouted as his body was soon covered in vines.
"Looks like my luck just turned on me!" Sheena laughed as her face started to glow. "Now to finish it off! Solarbeam!" She shouted, shooting the beam directly on the immobilized Gible.
"Dragon Breath!" The Gible manged to counter just before the hit. But when the two attacks collided, the webs snapped sending them down onto the next floor. Struggling to stand up, Gible felt his body get zapped from the Leech Seed.
"Ah!" Sheena shouted as she fell down onto the webs, her body this time immobilized. "Just my luck..." She moaned, trying to get up. However being a plant time gave her this disadvantage. The webs, they caught onto her leafy arms and wouldn't let go. "Aw crap..."
"Looks like Lady Luck is on my side!" Gible laughed as he started struggling over towards Sheena. His arms and body hugged tight together from the Leech Seed, but his legs were still movable. "Now know the wrath of Gible!"
"Really?" Sheena laughed as she lifted her head to see him. "You forget, my face is my most powerful weapon." She smiled as her face started to glow once again.
"I'm not falling for that again!" Gible laughed as he released the most unexpected move. "Flamethrower!"
"Solarbeam!" Sheena panicked releasing the beam just as the flames spewed out of Gible's mouth. The two attacks struck one another, but the flames merely wrapped itself around the Solarbeam. The flames bounced onto the webs, causing it to catch on flames. Soon, burning both Gible and Sheena; Gible because of the Leech Seed. "Ah!" Sheena cried out as her body caught on fire.
"AH!" Gible shouted along with Sheena, knowing that his plan backfired. He knew one way to stop the fire, but it was too late. The webs were start to burn to ashes, and if it continued the next floor of webs would burn too! "Sandstorm!" Gible shouted, as he released a tremendous storm of sand in order to put out the fire. However, it didn't do much. The webs broke, sending the two onto the next floor, burnt from the flames.
"Well that was smart." Sheena gasped as she landed onto the webs, her feet first.
"O, just shut up! I have this battle in the bag! Besides, I know what's below us..." Gible laughed.
"O do tell." Sheena said sarcastically as she started circling Gible; Gible doing the same.
"Nothing but horrors! Below this web nest is the Dragon's Food Nest!" Gible explained, his eyes not leaving off of Sheena's. "If anyone gets trapped there, there is no hope. Once your down there, you'll get eaten! Many foolish pokemons tried to attempt to go take down my..." Gible shut his mouth afterwards.
"Your what?" Sheena asked, her eyes staring into his. Something was wrong, he was hiding something.
"Nothing, you don't need to know!" Gible growled, a tear rolling off of his eye. "Shadow Claw!"
"LEAF STORM!" Sheena shouted out, knowing what would happen.
"Fool!" Gible shouted, just when she announced the name of her attack. Stopping his attack, he ran for the nearest platform of land. If the webs broke, all is lost. They would all become food! "Now you'll never know what has happened to your children!"
"I have a plan!" Sheena laughed as all the webs snapped from the walls, causing the floor to collapse.
"AHHHH!" Gible shouted, covering his eyes with his tiny hands.
"INGRAIN!" Sheena shouted out. The walls started to rumble as roots started to shoot out of the dirt, colliding into Sheena's feet. Huge roots from who know where appeared, creating some sort of bridge. Capturing Gible in the roots, Sheena smiled. The roots twisted and formed to an almost indestructible, but flammable bridge. Connecting the two staircases together. The room went from webs to roots, more durable and less sticky. "Told you I had a plan." Sheena laughed as she walked over towards where Gible was captured. "Now tell me where are my kids!" She yelled, slapping the Gible across the face with her leafy arms.
"No, I will never tell!" Gible retaliated.
"Then I guess i'll just have to send you down to the next floor..." Sheena bluffed, but Gible believed her.
"THEY WERE CAPTURED BY GARCHOMP!" Gible started to spill. "The whole Dragon's Den knows about it! Garchomp is planning to eat them along with the Swablu!" Panicking from the darkness below him, he started to cry. "Now let me go!"
"I don't think that would be wise..." Jessica laughed as she jumped down onto this floor, along with the others. As soon as the whole team got on, the roots started to shake a bit, but it was durable to the weight. "If we let you go, that would mean that you would fall down to the next floor." Jessica purred as she walked passed the Gible.
"Nice job." Kurogane whispered as he walked pasted her.
"Kurogane, was that a compliment I just heard you say?" Zelos laughed, picking on Kurogane.
"What the hell are you talking about?!" The Lairon shouted in disagreement.
As the started down the stairs onto the next floor, Sheena smiled at Gible. "I'm not cruel so here you go..." She laughed as she lowered her leafy arm. "Bit on this quickly." She ordered. The Gible nodded in agreement as if he had no problem with it, biting hard onto Sheena's hand she pulled him out of the roots."Mum's the word alright?" She laughed as the Gible released her hand. She ran down the stairs onto the next floor.
"What a strange Sunflora..." Gible asked, picking himself up from the roots.
"Your lucky she let you go." A familiar voice from earlier spoke behind him.
"Revel?" Gible asked before he turned around. "Is that you?"
"Who else could it?" Out of the shadows, came the Flygon from earlier. A smile on his face as he petted the Gible on the head. "So where is Regal?"
"Why are you looking for Regal?" Gible asked, mumbling as the Flygon petted his head.
"Because, I have some unfinished business with him..." Revel simple responded with his face calm and his tone serious.
"Well he's on the 17th floor...I think that team was after him too." The Gible merely replied as Revel stopped petting him. "...I'm a bit confused now...didn't you tell me to stop them from continuing?"
"Yeah..." Revel said, flapping his wings. "But now, I know what I have to do..." He smiled as he jumped off of the roots onto the floor below.
"Revel!" The Gible shouted as he started running for the stairs. "I won't let you do things alone! Not this time!" Panting as he ran after the strange Team that he was with earlier.

B15: .5 The Stomach

"Ugh, I'm hungry!" Sheena complained as they entered the new floor. Digging into the Supplies Box, she pulled out four Oran Berries and two big apples. "Let's eat! I mean, we have to be full of energy after what just happened." She laughed as they reached the actual floor.
"So this is the feeding room of the Dragon's Den." Jessica purred as she ate her Oran Berry whole, then her half of the Big Apple. "I don't see why it's called...o..." She shut her mouth as soon as she saw why it was called the feeding room!
There in the center of the room was a huge cylinder, made out of branches, webs, and other items like mud. Berries were falling from the ceiling of the room, dropping into the cylinder. But as Jessica pulled closer, she saw something. Something was moving inside of the tank! "HELP!" The voice shouted, the berries were drowning the body from moving out of the cylinder.
"SHADOW CLAW!" Jessica shouted, slicing the branches off of the cylinder. With that the berries flooded out of the cylinder to reveal...the Gible. "NOT YOU AGAIN!" Jessica shouted as she saw the Gible choking on a berry. With empathy, she stepped onto his stomach and the berry shot out of his mouth. "What are you doing here?!"
"I'm here because I need your help!" The Gible pleaded.
"But you tried to kill us!" Zelos pointed out, closing in on the Gible.
"Well now I got a different story for you." The Gible started explaining what was happening. "Okay, well for starters my name is Revein (( pronounced re-veen )). Anyway, my uncle Revel and my father Regal always had this strange rivalry going on. One day, my father couldn't take it anymore. Back when my father was a Gabite, he challenged my uncle who was a Vibrava. You would think that the fight would be equal, but it wasn't! My father got Gibles to fight along side of him, outnumbering my uncle. I was there, and I loved my uncle dearly, but I didn't do anything about it. When my uncle lost, he was banished from entering the Dragon Den's lower deck...And that was my father's empathy talking. Regardless, my uncle took it as a gift from the good within him. Now that good is gone..."
"And now what?" Sheena asked Revein before he continued his story.
"Now, my uncle is going to fight my father for the safety of the Swablu! But I know the outcome! My uncle doesn't have the strength to take on my father alone!" Revein explained, trying to find the empathy of the group. "And if my uncle's dead I will never learn how to forgive myself..."
"I don't buy this, I say let the kid rot in his own misery." Jessica said coldly turning around.
"I agree with Jessica for once. This kid tried to kill us, and not to mention fought Jessica in what was an unfair fight." Kurogane pointed out, turning around with Jessica.
"How could you guys be so heartless..." Sheena said as she went to hug the Gible.
"Sheena's right...we are after all a rescue team. We became one to rescue people. I mean, what if it was your sister Kurogane? And what if it was your brother Jessica? You would save them, regardless of what you feel for them." Zelos pointed out, nodding in acceptance to the Gible. "Alright, a temporary alliance for now." Zelos announced, with that Jessica and Kurogane simply sighed in agreement. It was Zelos who said it afterall, whatever Zelos says goes. He was the team leader.

- 4 Oran Berries ; - 2 Big Apples

B16: 5.5 Story Time~

"Thank you..." The Gible muttered as he walked behind the team with Sheena. "Thank you for believing me..."
"Well why wouldn't we? So what if you tried to kill us. Many others did that before." Sheena laughed, remembering the Zangoose from Jessica's home.
"Well thank you anyway..." He laughed as he held onto Sheena's hand, like one of those lost kids looking for their mommy.
"How old are you again?" Sheena couldn't help but ask.
"I'm turning 10 now." Revein laughed as he started to jump.
"So wait...is the Garchomp we're after your dad?" Sheena asked.
"Well he was my dad..." Revein explained. "He disowned me after siding with my uncle's beliefs one night with the family. He banished me from the Dragon's Den, harsh huh?"
"Your father did that?" Sheena asked, shocked a bit. She heard of kids being disowned, but not banished from their homes!
"Yeah...but since then I've been living here secretly." Revein laughed. "I see my uncle every now and then, and usually he'll bring me food along with the other kids he takes care of."
"O, so you mean those Trapinches back there..." Sheena laughed.
"Yeah, sadly those aren't really his kids. They were disowned by their parents too. Yeah, you could see how hard it is to live in the Dragon's Den." Revein chuckled nervously.
"So your uncle, Revel, takes care of them that way they don't end up like..." She wanted to end the sentence with the word You, but her heart couldn't bring it up.
"Yeah I guess...he didn't want them to be alone in the world. Afterall they are young, and now the one pokemon that he lost is being blocked off from freedom because of my dad." Revein said sadly as they came closer towards the stairs.
"Well everything is going to change as soon as we'll get to your father..." Sheena promised. "You'll never be alone again. Especially in a place like this! I mean...it's scary here." She laughed as the made it to the top of the stairs.
"Well this is it...everything will change from here on out..." Revein nervously said, his body shaking from the fear his father brings him.

B17: 5.0 The Final Battle: Family Bonds

Silently, the team entered the final floor they had to enter. There it was, the goal they were all after. Swablu, Julian, Christian, and Diep, all in the nest. The nest rested inside one of the cave's indents where it was out of reach from all the large Dragon Pokemons. There were hundreds of them, but only one had a nest within it.
"Revel, I knew you'd be back..." A Garchomp laughed, his foot firmly on a Flygon's head ready to be squished. "And I knew that once you were, it would mean death for one of us..." Regal chuckled, his eyes red from rage. "Unfortunately, you had to be on the other end." Putting more pressure on his foot, you could hear the ground crack.
"Stop this madness Regal!" Revel merely responded, trying to escape from the situation he was in. "What happened to you? You use to be a kind and benevolent..."
"Never talk about my past again!" Regal shouted, applying more and more pressure on his foot. "I just can't wait to hear your skull crack!"
"REGAL STOP!" Revein shouted, tackling Regal with all his strength in order to save Revel.
"Revein?!" Regal shouted off guard, tripping over nothing and falling flat on his back. With that, Revel had enough time to escape from his imprisonment. "Gah! Get off of my you pest!" Swinging his hand, he threw Revein at a wall; Revein however didn't fall off of the wall. His body was trapped within the cave's wall, which knocked him unconscious due to all of that force. "Revel! Come back and fight like a real dragon!"
"Regal, that was your own son!" Revel shouted, landing in front of Regal. "How could you do that to your own son?!"
"Brother, we both know I would do that..." Regal laughed, positioning himself for battle. "And we both know, that being head of the family I get to make decisions! Along with that, you were banished from the Family Den many years ago. Coming must only mean one thing..."
"Battle for the Head of the family!" Revel finished the sentence, but he knew that he was going to lose. He wasn't the fighter, he was the lover. He couldn't harm anyone seriously, that was why he left earlier during his battle with Team HTPN.
"Give up now before anyone gets hurt..." Regal mocked as he started to circle Revel, Revel circling Regal.
"I'm just here for the girl and the other prisoners you have..." Revel said, knowing that before he said he was there for the head of the family.
"Are you scared now?" Regal asked, mocking the Flygon. "Too late to back out now! LET THE BATTLE BEGIN!"

As the battle raged on, Team HTPN ran through the battlefield towards Julian, Christian, Diep, and the Swablu.
"Julian!" Sheena shouted as the baby charmander jumped into her arms. "O, your safe!"
"Whoa whoa!" Zelos laughed as he felt Christian wrap himself around Zelos. "Christian, looks like your okay." He laughed as Christian laughed along with him.
"Thanks for worrying about me." Diep said calmly as he lowered himself from the nest with a string shot. "Did you guys see the trail I left for you guys? The string shot trail thing?"
"That was you?" Sheena laughed as she petted Diep on the head. "We didn't know because our source didn't tell us..."
"Well at least you guys got here..." Diep laughed as he looked up to see the Swablu still having trouble getting down. "Come on down Faith! Nothing's going to happen..."
"But I can't fly!" The Swablu squealed in response, sweat running down her face.
"Well that's something you don't see everyday...A Swablu who can't fly..." Jessica commented, knowing that she shouldn't. "Honey, you can fly! It's in your blood!" Jessica shouted at Faith. "You just gotta jump out and have faith!"
"I don't think I can..." Faith answered back as she backed away from the edge.
"Come on, you have nothing to lose! If you fall, we will catch you. You can trust us..." Diep shouted, finally having some strange courage put into his body.
"I trust you..." Faith whispered as she walked closer to the other end. "CATCH ME!" Faith shouted as she jumped out of the nest. Closing her eyes tightly, she started flapping her wings.
"Gotcha!" Regal shouted, grabbing onto Faith with his claw. The whole team gasped in shock. "Your protector is gone..." What happened, the team turned their back from the battle for about two seconds and now the battle between Regal and Revel was over? And Regal came out victorious?! "Revel wasn't much of a challenge...his body is right there under my pathetic excuse of a son..."
"EXCUSE ME?" Sheena cried out, standing up for herself and her "family." "Your pathetic excuse of a son? From what I heard, he's your only son!"
"Your point..." Regal roared, landing onto the ground with a huge thud. "He's replaceable..."
"WHAT KIND OF FATHER ARE YOU?!" Sheena shouted as her heart started to pour out of her mouth. "Your suppose to be there for him, not keep holding him down! He's only ten for pee's sake!"
"You know what, I had enough of your talk. Talk is cheap, do something about it...I know what I'm about to do! HAVE SOME SUNFLORA FOR DINNER!" Regal shouted, lowering his head towards Sheena's. Exhaling deeply into her face.
"Ember!" Julian shouted, enraged from the fact her mother was about to be eaten. Shooting small amounts of flames at Regal, the Garchomp's attention was turn,.
"Ah...so the cute little Charmander wants some..." Regal laughed as he swooped down with his other hand to grab Julian.
"Julian!" Sheena shouted as her kid was swooped away.
"I got this!" Jessica shouted, jumping into the air. "Shadow Claw!"
"Dragon Rush!"
"String Shot!"
Jessica pounced into the air, in front of Regal's face and slam down with a Shadow Claw, causing him to fall back. With Kurogane's Dragon Rush, he slammed his body into the two hands, causing Julian to be released, however Faith was trapped. Regal's grip wouldn't loosen up from Faith. Finally, Diep's string shot grabbed onto Julian and pulled him into Sheena's arm.
"Don't you ever touch my baby, or my family ever again!" Sheena threatened as Jessica and Kurogane appeared back into the group. Regal on the other hand was flat on his back on the ground from the attack.
"Very good...but let's see how well you can battle!"

BATTLE TIME!

"DRACO METEOR!" Regal shouted, jumping into the air. His body started to steam up as he shifted his body towards the team. "Let's see how well you can defend against this!" Rushing down at the team like a meteor, Kurogane jumped in front of the attack.
"Protect!" Kurogane shouted as a barrier formed around him, canceling the attack.
"Hydro Pump!" Zelos added, jumping from behind Kurogane, he spewed tremendous amounts of water at Regal's body.
"Don't forget about me!" Sheena shouted, throwing Julian back with Diep and Christian. "Leaf Storm!" Spinning her arms, leaves shot out of her colliding into Regal's body.
"O hell no! I know your not going to attack without me!" Jessica laughed as she jumped to the side of Regal. "Shadow Ball!"
"Sandstorm!" Regal countered as he started spinning a horrible sandstorm. "Twister!" Now they had a problem. Regal was using a powerful combination! While spinning he could control the sandstorm to wherever he wanted, not to mention he had Faith in his hands! "How do you like me now?!" He laughed as the shadow ball came into the combination, but then bouncing back at Jessica.
"Jessica!" Kurogane shouted as he jumped in the way of the shadow ball. Trying to use protect, but it failed. The move hasn't recharged completely yet.
"You idiot!" Jessica shouted as she saw Kurogane get blasted in front of her. "I could've taken it!"
"I can't let my fellow teammate take a hit..." Kurogane laughed as he picked himself up from the impact of the hit. "Besides, I can handle it better than you can. Afterall, I am armor afterall..." Was that an inside joke that the team just heard. An inside joke between Jessica and Kurogane because they were laughing about it.
"Anyway, hold still!" Jessica laughed as she jumped onto Kurogane's body and pushed off of it. "Shadow Claw!" She shouted as she entered the vortex of Regal.
"Fool!" Regal laughed as she grabbed onto Jessica with his free hand.
"Or so you would think... Jessica winked as she felt the wind spinning her in circles.
"Petal Dance!" Sheena shouted jumping into the twister, adding her own petals as a twist. "Let's see how well you can handle petals damaging you!" She laughed as she jumped out of the circulation. "Leaf Storm!" She shouted, shooting leaves into the twister of sand and petals.
"I can help!" Diep shouted as he jumped besides Sheena. "String Shot!" Shooting at Jessica, he pulled her out of the twister and out of Regal's clutches. "Now, string shot!" He laughed as he started shooting more and more that got caught up into the twister soon wrapping Regal in it.
"What is this?!" He shouted as petals and leaves struck him, soon getting wrapped around in a String Shot. "Ah!" He shouted as he fell onto the ground with a thud, dizzy from all the spinning.
"Wait, where's the Swablu?!" Zelos shouted as the whole team started to feel a bit proud of their work.
"Just wait til I get out of here!" Regal shouted, starting to pull out of the string shot.
"Confuse Ray!" Zelos reacted as soon as he heard the string starting to snap.
"You know, it would've been easier if you let me put him to sleep..." Jessica laughed as she patted Zelos on the head.
"But what are the chances of him actually looking into your eyes..." Zelos added as he started to walk around the confused Garchomp's body looking for the Swablu.
"Help!" A little voice chirped, struggling free from the webs and Regal's fingers.
"Jessica over here!" With that, Jessica jumped over Regal's body and landed besides Zelos. Pulling out her paw, she used a Shadow Claw on the webs and released the Swablu.
"Look at the pretty birdy..." Regal laughed as he rolled over onto his back.
"I'm flying!" Faith chirped as she started to spin around and around.
"I'm proud of you!" Diep laughed as Faith landed next to him.
"Thank you..." She whispered as she hugged him with her cotton wings.
"Get a room..." Kurogane commented as he walked towards Jessica and Zelos. "Hey Zelos, you have a kid waiting and not to mention a stuck Revein on the wall."
"Daw, you actually care to use his name." Zelos teased as he jumped towards Christian who squealed with happiness. After pulling the unconscious Revein off the wall, Zelos smiled. "You guys time to go home! Though I wonder what happened to Revel..." Shaking his head, Zelos smiled. "Alright, EXPLORER BADGE, TAKES US HOME!" He laughed as the badge started to glow. With that, everyone except for Regal exited the dungeon back to the guild.

Epilogue

"So this is what happened to the almighty Regal..." Revel laughed as he appeared out of the darkness on this floor. "You said you could take on these children without any trouble."
"Shut up..." Regal growled, trying to break out of the string shot prison, but he couldn't. The leaves and petals made it harder for him to escape since it suffocated his body more. "I'm still the head of this family!"
"I beg to differ..." Revel laughed as he leaned down closer to Regal's face. "Revein is now head of this family, you were defeated in a battle." Regal couldn't deny it, he had lost a battle. The Head of the family was suppose to be undefeatable no matter the odds.
"It was an unfair fight!" Regal shouted as he tried to break out of the string shot jacket.
"Like it was when you and I fought so many years ago?" Revel chuckled. "Remember, Karma. What goes around comes around...I'm just happy right now that Faith finally learned to fly..."
"You and your pitiful emotions..." Regal growled, continuing to struggle free.
"Pft, at least I'm not inside some sort of prison!" Revel laughed as he started to fly, picking up Regal with his feet.
"Where are you taking me?!" Regal panicked, this time trying to break free more intensely.
"Someplace where you'll never hurt anyone again..." Revel laughed as he flew towards the feeding den. "And away you go~" He laughed as he dropped his brother into the feeding den.
"NOOOO!" Regal cried out as he dropped into the millions of berries, and eventually he couldn't see. Berries were everywhere and he was just getting lower and lower in the pile.

HURRAY THE END~!
PostPosted: Thu Jul 29, 2010 8:18 pm

Town, later that day.
Faith and Revein headed towards the guild, rewards in hand. It seemed that in the time since they'd left the Dragon's Den, Faith had gotten much better at flying. Though, she was still a little rough.

"Thank you so much for helping me!" Faith looked a little sad for a moment, as if remembering something long ago. "After what Regal did to the Den... I don't think I want to live there anymore. I think I want to live here, but um... I don't know anyone but you guys. Would you mind if I stayed with you?"

The otherwise quiet Gible spoke up as well. "I'd really like to join your team! You guys were really brave going up against my dad. I need to get strong like you guys so when I return to the Den I can fight off anyone bad!"

Unfortunately, the guild would only allow them to accept one new member at a time. The team would have to pick which one of them took up residence; Faith or Revein.

Regardless of which recruit the team chose to take, a letter would arrive in the team's room a few days later. With it was a small package.

"Hey there. This is Revel, writing you from the Dragon's Den. I'm sorry for getting you all involved in a fight that wasn't yours to begin with, so I've sent this as a way of thanks--and as an apology."

The team would open the package to find a Twister TM inside.

((You should try and work your sentences into paragraphs a bit better. A bit of a problem that I had with reading over your posts was that your text is extremely block-y. Write out a fair cluster of sentences into a paragraph, then put a blank line between your paragraphs. It'll give your text better spacing and make it much more enjoyable to read; proper paragraphing can also help you improve flow.))

Team HTPN

Smiling happily, Zelos turned to Faith. "Your coming to our team..." He smiled as the small Swablu chirped with excitement, however Revein was feeling quite the opposite. He felt his heart sank so many levels beneath the floor.

"I hope you could understand." Sheena smiled, trying to cheer up the broken-hearted Gible. "If you think about it, you have more to return to then if you stayed here." Sheena pointed out, making him think of his uncle Revel and the rest of the Dragon's Den he hasn't explored due to his banishment.
"Your right!" Revein shouted, pumping himself up. "I have so much to learn and luckily for me I have a teacher." With that, Revein ran out of the guild, back to his home.

"Diep, can you believe it?!" Faith chirped as she hugged Diep tightly. "I get to stay!"
"I know, I'm excited as you are!" If he had arms, he would hug her back.

"Hey you two, get a room! We have kids present!" Kurogane growled as he started to walk away from the two love birds.
"What crawled up your butt and made you the Grinch?" Jessica purred as she walked besides him.
"O, it wasn't a what. It was a who." He smiled at her, walking faster away from her.
"Stupid Kurogane..." She purred as she watched the team start making their way back to the Team Room.

Cress was horrified at the scene. He was on his way to the Hospital for work early in the morning when he stumbled across the murder. He spotted the fight as he passed an alley, fire and sand flying around in chaos.

"Help!" A women's panicked voice cried out over and over again, and the Milotic turned towards the sounds of fighting, realizing that he might be needed. At the end of the alleyway was an injured Charmeleon on her knees, clutching a baby Charmander protectively at her side. She was bleeding from several deep cuts, blindly slashing before her with claws of fire as sand and dust swirled around her. A dark blur cut in and out, too fast for Cress's eyes to to follow.

The Milotic rushed forward, crying out a calming note. The Charmeleon definitely needed help, and Crescendo weaved a layer of water around his skin, ready to transfer the Aqua Ring to the fire type.

He never reached her. The Charmeleon gave a high-pitched scream before stumbling backwards, blood spraying from her cut throat. In a quick black blur and a cut-off wail the baby Charmander disappeared.

The sandstorm died, leaving an eerie calm. Cress quickly wrapped himself around the Charmeleon, channelling as much healing as he could into her body.

He was too late. Her fire sputtered and died.

---

Incultyr and Morana were quickly notified that one of their members was involved in a murder scene. The two rushed out immediately, leaving Acer by himself in the Team Room. They worked their way down into the city as fast as they could, and found a large crowd of Police and curious bystanders. Magnemites and Magnetons hovered in the area, buzzing and sparking to keep the crowd back. Incultyr and Morana pushed their way through towards the mouth of the alley, where Crescendo was curled up into a pile of misery.

"Out of the way!" Incultyr snarled, shoving aside a Growlithe who told him something about staying back. Morana murmured a quick apology to the Growlithe as she quickly followed, and the two were soon right next to their youngest member. The Arcanine who was questioning him turned to see the two of them, and his expression softened; he knew that the Larvitar and the Houndour were the Milotic's team leaders.

Cress cried out mournfully and slithered forward, nuzzling Morana as Incultyr turned to face the officer.

"What happened here?" He demanded, and the Arcanine looked back down the alleyway. It was filled with piles of sand, the walls scorched and burnt.

"We found your teammate here curled around the dead body of Miss Gina. Her child is missing and-"

"Cress didn't do it. He hates fighting. He would never kill anyone." Incultyr blurted angrily, daring the officer to deny it. The Arcanine shook his head.

"Of course, we know who the culprit is. He left his calling card." The Officer told him. "Still, we need to do a full investigation, so we will need the Milotic. We will be taking him with us to the Police Station if you do not mind. You may come with us if you wish."

Incultyr glanced back at Morana and nodded.

"Send a note to Second Chance for us. I want Chronicle and Crown to know what is going on.

---

"A Gabite Scale?" Incultyr asked, picking up the small blue hard disk and examining it. A crude 'R' rune was carved into it. There was a small pile of them in the box, about a dozen or so. The Arcanine shook his head.

"No, a garchomp scale." The Fire Type told him, picking up one of the scales with a paw. "His name is Regal the Garchomp. He's a serial killer, and had taken us months to track down. Before we captured him at the end of last year, dozens of deaths and disappearances had been attributed to him. He broke out last month, and we've had a score of cases connected to him already. He seems to be targeting young children."

The Officer sighed, shifting himself to a more comfortable sitting position.

"The worst of it is that we know where he is hiding." He mumbled, looking away with shame. "We've sent our best in. And we have lost some of our best. He seems to have gathered a strong group of loyal Pokemon, and they control the caverns. Even now we are sending a request for the help of the Guild, but..."

Incultyr through this carefully.

"How strong is he?" The Larvitar asked. The Arcanine turned back to the Larvitar, shaking his head.

"I wouldn't recommend what you are thinking. Team Polaris is well known for being an established, reliable team, but I do not believe you are a match against him. We are considering some stronger teams, perhaps the one who helped us capture a rather difficult Charizard a while back."

Incultyr looked over to Morana, who shifted nervously. She really didn't like the idea of this. And though he didn't like being described as a weak team, he knew that they didn't have very many strong fighters.

"Alright then. When are you releasing Crescendo?"

"We should be done in a few more minutes, and then you will be free to go."

---

The three of them stepped through the doorway of the main hall, heading towards the West Wing. Cress was silent as he slithered beside them, hanging his head sadly. The sight of the murder had shaken him greatly, as death always did for him.

Suddenly, something rushed past them down the hall, a dark blue blur. Morana was stopped in her track by the winds created by the sheer speed, stumbling back a step as she fought against the wind.

"W-what was that!?" Morana cried out in alarm, a split second before something much larger than her ran right into her. She toppled backwards in a pile of flesh, bone, and leaves. Cursing leaves.

"Damn it! Not again!" The Grovyle growled, untangling himself from Morana as two other figures skidded to a stop behind him, helping him to his feet. Incultyr helped Morana get up, and immediately turned to the three newcomers.

"Watch where you're going." He told the Grovyle.

"Sorry." The Grass type apologized quickly before turning back to converse with a Marshtomp and a Combusken who was sheathing a large sword onto her back.

"Damn it, we let him escape again." The Grovyle mumbled, slamming a fist angrily into an open palm. The Combusken shook her head.

"This isn't working. And to think he was bold enough to attack a guild member! In the Palace no less!" She murmured, but the Marshtomp cut in.

"No, he was being cautious. There had only been a Cherrim protecting the Turtwig. There had been little risk for him in this..." he continued. Team Polaris listened to this conversation with interest until then; fear crossed all three of their faces.

"Morana. Go." Incultyr told the Houndour, who didn't need to be told twice as she bounded down the hall towards their Team Room. Crescendo hesitated for only a moment before following.

"What happened? Tell me now." Incultyr demanded, pushing his way into the centre of the ring of newcomers. The water Type stared down at him irritably, but the Grovyle held out an arm to hold him back.

"A Team had been attacked. We have been hunting the criminal for a while now, you might have heard of him. Regal the-" The Grovyle began, and his sentence was echoed by Incultyr's whisper. "-Garchomp."

He had been targeting young children.

---

Morana comforted a hysterical Chronicler, who dug her face into the houndour's shoulder and cried nonstop. She wrapped her petals around herself protectively, barely reacting as Crescendo wrapped himself around the both of them.

"I-I came to look after A-A-Ace when we got the letter. Then he came, and...I couldn't do anything! I-I-I panicked! And...he- he- he took-..." At this point Chronicler broke out into a wail. The room showed the signs of a fight, several hardened leaves embedded in the walls, the beds sprawled all over the floor. The room was unusually bright, a result of Chronicler's sunny day and the faint smell of Aromatherapy lingered in the air.

Behind them Incultyr came in through the door, which was barely hanging by its hinges. He hurried to them as fast as he could.

"Chronicler! Are you Okay?" He asked with concern, relieved to see that she was alive.

"She's fine." Morana reassured him, nuzzling the sobbing ball of petals. Behind them the three Pokemon from before walked in, looking around at the destruction.

"Regal has to be stopped." The Grovyle swore grimly. As Crescendo, Morana and Chronicler continued their group hug, Incultyr turned back and made his way to the other team.

"You seem to know a lot about this Garchomp." He stated.

"We do. We have been tracking him since his escape." The Grovyle explained. "We have tried to confront him once already but..."

Beside him the Combusken winced from the memory. The Grovyle shook his head.

"We're considering asking the Guild to send some strong fighters with us. Maybe we'll be able to take him down then."

"Count Team Polaris in." Incultyr replied immediately, glancing back to his teammates. This Regal person will regret the day he ever crossed this Larvitar. The Grovyle seemed surprised, but it was soon evident that it wasn't because he had the desire to go.

"You're Team Polaris? The Knight-ranked Team?" He asked skeptically, looking from the small Larvitar over to the other half of the team, apparently not impressed. Then recognition dawned on his face. "Wait...Incultyr!? I thought you'd have evolved by now!"

"...Aiden?" Incultyr said a moment later, suddenly realizing who the team before him was. "Beka, Chris! You all evolved!"

Aiden, the Grovyle, nodded.

"Team Trinity, at your service. You seem to be doing well. We'd be honoured to adventure beside you once more."

Incultyr nodded grimly.

"You have Team Polaris's support. Where is this Regal hiding and when can we go?"

"Dragon's Den, and since it seems we have everything in order...tomorrow. Bring all of your strongest fighters."

---

Crown and Chronicler huddled together at the corner of the room. Crescendo laid himself near them, humming a sad, solemn tune. Morana, Incultyr, and Team trinity sat in a circle in the middle of the room, Polaris having invited them to stay for the night.

"-remember, his greatest advantage is his speed. We must keep our wits about us, and remember to do whatever Morana tells us." Aiden concluded after they finished their talk of strategy. Crescendo bugled a soft note in agreement, before lying his head down to lie against the ground. He had been requested to go, and the Milotic had hesitantly agreed. Not only was Crescendo a strong fighter, his ability to heal would no doubt come in useful.

"Alright then, we'll take care of the supplies." Aiden told Incultyr, getting to his feet. "We'll be back in an hour or so."

As Team Trinity left, Morana curled up, turning to look at Incultyr expectantly. She was tense and nervous; the entire group was heavily relying on her. With her gift of being able to see the future, as well as her access to Regal's weakest element -ice- she was a crucial part of their plans.

"How do you know them?" Morana asked her partner as Incultyr got to his feet. The Larvitar paused for a moment to consider this.

"I was a part of their team once for a month or two." Was all he offered.

"I'll be back soon." Time to carry out an unpleasant portion of the plans.

---

"And why do you need me?" Atra growled in annoyance, looking down at the Larvitar at his door. Oh great, it was Incultyr. The Flareon hated that rock-type. He was always so...bossy and infuriating.

"I fought alongside you once. I know you are good with ice. We need you to help take down Regal." Incultyr told the Flareon bluntly. Atra sat back on his haunches, scowling.

"And what's in it for me?"

"Atra! How could you say such a thing? That criminal must be brought down!" A shiny cyndaquil scolded, walking up to Atra's side. "Think of all the missing children! What if he comes after Repede next?"

"Good riddance then." The Flareon murmured under his breath, careful to keep it quiet.

"Only if you can convince Spade to hand me the Ice Plate." He told the Cyndaquil a little more loudly. There was no use arguing with the Cyndaquil.

Within minutes Lilium had Spade cowering in a corner, handing the necklace over. Incultyr waited impatiently at the door the entire time, wishing that Morana's family wasn't in such a wreck. Zero and Zosee would have made a great addition to the team, and he wouldn't have had to come begging at the doors of the intolerable former member.

"Fine then, I'm coming." Atra grumbled as he slipped the Ice plate in its Plate Form into the harness across his back with his Rock Plate. "Meet you at your team room tomorrow morning then." And he promptly slammed the door in Incultyr's face.

---

As the team gathered together the next morning, Incultyr handed out supplies. Each Pokemon pocketed their share of Orbs, Seeds, and Berries in their respective bags. Atra came in late, looking extremely tired and grumpy. As they headed towards the Eastern Territory, they filled the Flareon in on their plan.

"Not much of a plan." Was his only comment as he grumpily walked along the large group.

"It's solid, and that's all that matters. I hope you're as good as Team Polaris made you out to be." Beka commented, checking the sharpness of the dagger sheathed by her hip.

"Better than you'll ever be." The Flareon huffed, wondering why he had come. Beka glared at him, and opened her mouth to reply but Chris the Marshtomp beat her to it.

"Watch it fluffy. We've been exploring years longer than you have, so shut that hole of yours before I do it for ya." The water-type warned, scowling fiercely.

"Took you years to get to where you are now? Hah, pathetic." Atra replied with a smug grin, straightening up slightly. "I beat the Legendary Lugia all by myself."

"That was a fake you dolt." Incultyr cut in irritably.

"Enough!" Aiden cried, stepping between Atra and the rest of the group. He could see that the Flareon was definitely going to be trouble. "We need to work together, and this isn't helping."

Crescendo added his consent with a stern cry, flicking his tail in agitation. The rest of the trip went by silently, with one part of the group -everyone except Atra- refusing to talk to the other part- Atra.

They reached the mountain where the Dragon Den cavern system crisscrossed through, and Team Trinity immediately took them up a faint trail towards the opening that would lead into Regal's lair.

It wasn't hard to find once they were near. Morana winkled her nose at the smell, and suddenly they broke out of the trees to find a large mound of rocks before them. A gaping hole was cut into the rock, and on either side of it...

Crescendo looked away, horrified. Stakes were driven into the ground all around the entrance, and the dead bodies of various Pokemon were strung on them. Regal made no secret of the location of his lair it seemed, openly challenging the world.

"Is everyone ready?" Aiden asked quietly, solemnly. Atra glanced from the gruesome display back to the group, suddenly not all that keen on going. But as he watched every one of them nod one by one- goddamn, he couldn't back down or he'd look like a coward!

"Well what are we waiting for then?" He declared, perhaps a little too loudly. "I'll go in first and make sure the guards are where you saw them last time." Ha! Like any of them could beat that.

Before anyone could contest the idea, Atra melded into the darkness, darting from one shadow to the next.

"Arc'dammnit." Incultyr swore, and shook his head at Atra's bold actions.

---

The cave went steadily downwards, and Atra found it incredibly hard to hold himself in shadow form. He's never really figured he needed practise, and the glass-smooth material making up the caverns didn't help. The reflective surface really didn't hold shadows very well.

The corridor suddenly narrowed, closing together to form a wall. A Iron door stood in its middle, just as Team trinity had described. On either side of it sat vigilant guards; a Salamence and a Flygon. They were alert, standing almost unmoving at their stations as they stared straight ahead, looking down the corridor.

As Atra approached, the Flygon shifted slightly, her head swivelling until she was looking directly at the shadow-form Flareon. She continued to stare, and Atra froze in place, watching as the Flygon's mouth opened into an open snarl, showing sharp teeth.

"Intrud-!" She began to yell, cut off as a a mass of shadow leaped out of the floor to engulf her. Atra's body flared with heat reflexively, and the Flygon screeched in pain. Wait...was that in pain? The sound that came from the Flygon came from its vibrating wings, a Supersonic, and it assaulted Atra's senses. Suddenly, everything seemed wrong, made no sense. The world around him spun out of control, light exploding before his eyes. He was suddenly off the Flygon, on the ground, and felt a clawed talon on his exposed side, digging in.

And then the pain suddenly vanished, several blurred figures rushing past his line to sight. Something wrapped itself around him, something cool and damp, and his head cleared up as his surroundings began to glow. Snapping out of his confusion, Atra staggered to his feet and Crescendo quickly uncoiled himself from the Flareon, shaking. The Milotic's sides showed burns where he had come directly in contact with Atra, though they began to mend before his eyes.

"...thanks." Atra murmured, in a daze.

Morana slashed a clawed paw through the throat of the Salamence as Beka embedded her sword deep within the Flygon's belly. The two finished off their opponents as Aiden forced the door open, turning right immediately to snatch at a Swablu stationed on a perch. The small bird was humming loudly, eyes squeezed closed in fear.

The Grovyle missed; and as the humming seemed to vibrate within his very being, he felt himself getting tired, his eyelids drooping...

A clump of mud smacked the singing bird in the face, and as the surprised thing tried to keep its balance Chris reached up and grabbed it by the wing, dragging it down to the ground. The small creature stared up at the Marshtomp fearfully.

"P-please...don't!" It squeaked. "Regal made me! He would have killed me!"

Chris simply turned and held the bird out to Beka, who was sheathing her sword. Rolling her eyes, the Combusken opened her mouth as a slight shimmering appeared between her and the feearful Swablu. A humming tone almost identical to the one the flying type had used came out, and within seconds the Swablu was soon fast sleep and Chris tossed it aside.

"Good job Mr. Lugiaslayer." Beka spat at Atra as Aiden and Chris quickly scouted the caverns on either side of them. The Flareon chose to simply glare at the Combusken and not reply.

"Is everyone alright?" Incultyr asked, inspecting members of Team Polaris. No one had been seriously hurt. Cress had burned himself when he had rushed to the aid of the Flareon, but he had quickly healed himself and seemed fine now.

"From now on we stick together. This is dangerous and we can't afford to have our forces split." Aiden announced when he came back, looking at Atra pointedly.

"Alright, we must be quick from this point on. The moment someone finds these guards the entire complex will know we're here." He turned and gestured for the others to follow him. "I will lead with Beka. Chris and Incultyr will take up the rear. Crescendo, stay in the middle. Morana and Atra, keep to either side of him."

There was no dissent and everyone got into their positions quickly, though Atra was reluctant at first. He hated taking orders from others, but followed them anyways. He was still sulking from the failure of his plan. How was he suppose to know that his shadow-walking was so bad people could see him clearly?

They made their way briskly down the corridor, though their speed was severely hampered by Incultyr. The Larvitar moved as fast as he could, but couldn't possibly keep up. The passage split several times, but Aiden lead them down the right path confidently each time, apparently having a very good memory.

Torches at regular intervals lit up the corridor, its light reflected off the glassy substance that made up the caverns. It was still dim though, and the group could make out a beacon of light from a room before them. Aiden held up a hand to stop the others and they all paused as the Grovyle motioned for Chris to come to the front.

"What can you sense?" He asked the Marshtomp, and the water type closed his eyes, getting down on all fours. The sensitive fin on his head twitched as he tried to detect the faintest sounds and vibrations.

"There's several Pokemon in the room up ahead." The Water Type finally confirmed. "At least three, possibly five."

"We can take them." Atra declared, flexing his claws. Incultyr glared at the Flareon, and Morana shook her head.

"It's too risky. We'll alert the entire complex and then we'll be in for the fight of our lives. No, we stay with our original plan." Aiden reached into his bag and pulled out a small blue orb.

"Stay here, and be ready to answer the call." The Grovyle told them all, and crushed the item in his hand. The Grass-Type suddenly vanished with the power of the Invisify Orb.

"Let's stay back." Beka whispered, urging everyone back a few paces.

"Incultyr, Chris, watch our flank. Morana, come up here with me."

---

Aiden silently slipped forward, inching his way across the floor as the tunnel opened up into a large circular room. Tables were sprawled around the room in a haphazardous fashion, and the grass-type mentally created a path through the chairs and the tables to the other side where the tunnel continued on; this room was nothing more than a widening of the corridor they had been travelling through.

Several Pokemon were lounging around the room. In the centre was a large round table on which a group of Pokemon seemed to be betting against each other in a card game. A Gabite was dealing hands to a trio of Vibrava, Altaria, and a Dratini who seemed to be having trouble holding onto her cards. A Dragonair across the room was sleeping on a couch, its tail wrapped around the leg of a table.

Aiden took a deep breath, and began making his way across, doing his best not to make the barest hint of sound. He wove his way around the messy room, slipping under a table as the Dratini slid off her chair angrily and slithered in his direction. She passed him without noticing the the invisible Grovyle though, and Aiden continued his way across.

It took him some time with the care he was taking, having to use a second Invisify Orb when he felt the first begin to falter. But he finally emerged on the other side and slipped safely into the tunnels beyond. He continued forward, wanting to get far away enough before he tried to summon the rest of the team.

---

"Someone's coming!" Chris hissed, and everyone froze. They could all hear the footsteps and the voices now, a pair of Pokemon coming in their direction from behind. They were idly chatting to each other. Atra made his way past Crescendo to the back to the group, ready for a fight.

"C'mon Aiden...hurry up..." Beka murmured, silently slipping her sword out of its sheath. Ahead of them, just around a corner the two were approaching, and the group saw the shadow they cast on the wall.

Finally they turned the corner and one of them stopped talking mid-sentence at the sight.

"Holy- How did you get in here!?" A rather surprised looking Gible said, eyes wide, as his friend, a Trapinch, nearly walked into him. In a flash Atra dashed forward, a shower of bright stars coming off his fur and flying at the small dragon type. It squealed in fear, and clawed at the ground. Surprisingly, it began to dig through the hard rock in a frenzy, gone from sight in the blink of an eye as the swift attack sailed over it harmlessly.

"Intruders! Intruders!" The Trapinch screamed as a sandstorm suddenly began to roar in the hallway, the rest of the team moving forward as fast as they could to silence the small ground type. The Trapinch was not to be underestimated though, for it opened its mouth and-

"Hyper Beam!" Morana cried out, seeing a glimpse of the attack in her mind, a brief flash from the future. Crescendo cried out in alarm and Chris fought his way to the front of the ground, the two bringing up a Protective shield just as the attack went off.

The Powerful Blast of energy hit the shield like a battering ram, sending the barrier back slightly and blasting the entire group off their feet. It held though, and none of the attack got through as it faded.

As it darkened once more, they saw Atra pinning down the Trapinch, swearing to himself. The Sandstorm died, leaving sand in their fur and feathers.

"Thanks a bunch guys." He snapped at them. He had been way ahead of the rest of the grounp, and had not been enveloped in the Protect Shield. He had barely dived into the shadows fast enough, and it had kept him from getting ripped apart.

The Flareon paused as he heard yelling and people running down the corridor towards them though, not to mention all the Pokemon they had alerted in the room behind them. Great, just great. He bolted the Trapinch he was standing on to the ground with some ice before turning his attention to the newcomers.

Atra fell into spellcasting, the comfortable weight of the plates on his back, and as he spotted several Pokemon flying down the tunnels at him from his end, he completed it. Water came into existence, crashing down on the ground and rushing down at the oncoming enemies in a large wave. The Flygon leading them simply tucked in its wings, intending to fly right through, and Atra waited...

The Ground-Dragon pierced the water like a missile, breaking out the other side of the wave. Her momentum carried her forward and- she abruptly halted, yelping in pain. The water down the hall froze instantaneously, encasing the second half of her tail. She clawed at the ice, trying to break free, and turned to use her fiery breath, but Atra pulled in all the heat from the corridor into himself. His body heat soared, safely within the range Flareons can handle, as the tunnel began to resemble a freezer more and more.

Finally the Flygon shuddered and gave up. She could not keep the fire within herself alive under such conditions. Behind the wall of ice was a lot of yelling and screaming, as more dragons presumably were half-frozen into the water.

Chris and Crescendo moved their barrier behind them as Pokemon from the room Aiden had passed charged in to investigate. Morana breathed over the barrier, a multicoloured beam of cold discharging from her mouth as the Protect barrier was soon covered in ice. A Gabite attacked it relentlessly, and it took everything the two water types had to hold their defences.

Incultyr stomped the ground, raising a small wall of stone just beyond the barrier, pushing the Gabite back.

---

Aiden ducked under the slashing of the Gabite's attack, darting in quickly himself to swipe at the Dragon's throat. The one-on-one duel went on for many moments, neither gaining the edge over the other. Sand swirled violently around them, getting into the grass-type's eyes but Aiden was an experienced warrior, could fight even under the reduced visibility. He was much faster than the Gabite, his natural speed augmented by Agility.

Eventually, Aiden found a weakness in his opponent's Defense and slashed at the Dragon. He moved an arm up to parry, but was too slow to block the blade of green that came off Aiden's arm to cut into his neck. It did not go through, but it was embedded deep. The Gabite moved up, clutching at the wound but Aiden quickly stepped forward to the kill.

He had stumbled upon the Gabite just as he had been ready to summon the rest of the Teams. He could hear fighting down the hall behind him, and knew that his own fight had taken too long. Wiping clean the bloody leaf blades on his wrist, he dug into his bag and pulled out another orb.

Well, since all semblance of stealth had been destroyed, no use doing this slowly to bring everyone over quietly. He crushed the orb within his fist, releasing a large flash of light.

---

Atra could feel the pull, the summons from the Rollcall orb.

"Aiden's gotten through!" Chris announced a split second later. Atra dropped his hold on the magic, though the Flygon and her friends weren't going anywhere soon as he allowed the call of the Rollcall orb to take him. On the other side Chris and Crescendo kept their hold on the protect, waiting for the others to disappear before throwing down the protect themselves and grasping the magic.

Crack!

They fell to the ground a moment later, Morana scrambling out of the way under them. The two water Types ended in a tangled pile, but they soon extracted themselves from this situation and they all got themselves straightened out.

"Let's go." Aiden urged them, helping Incultyr to his feet. A minute later they were running down the hall as fast as they could.

"Here, take this." Aiden handed Incultyr a small seed, and the Larvitar grimaced but accepted it. It was a quick seed, one of the only three the group had brought. They had intended to use them during the fight with Regal, but without it Incultyr would drag down the group too much.

He gulped the seed down, and the Agility effect that came with it boosted his very low natural speed considerably.

"We're almost there!" Aiden cried out, encouraging the group. As he skidded to a steel door, Atra turned around and closed off the corridor behind them with a thick wall of Ice.

Aiden tried the door and found it, unsurprisingly, locked. He took a step out of the way as Beka sheathed her sword, fire erupting from her fists. She stepped forward and punched the lock several times and then took several steps back. With a running start she kicked the door in, rolling to absorb her momentum. She came up onto her feet, sword drawn in one fluid movement.

"Look out!" Morana and Chris both cried out in unison, the Houndour's Future Sight and the Marshtomp's Foresight showing both what was about to occur. They couldn't stop it from happening though- as Beka turned at the briefest sound to her left, something slammed into her with such force she was sent flying.

Blood hissed and flew, splattering Aiden who was just in the doorway. The Grovyle's eyes widened.

"Beka!" He screamed, and the Grovyle ran into the large room to Beka's side. It was crudely carved out from the same glassy stone as the rest of the caverns, but much much larger. Torches ran along the wall, and the end of the hall was what looked to be an empty throne.

"...back for more I see..." A voice rasped in the shadows. "...you have escaped from me once, but I will remedy that. No more cowardly relying on your precious badge this time..."

Aiden noticed dully that his explorer's badge was no longer clipped to his bag; Regal had taken it from him in the same motion he had taken Beka down. The Grovyle was shaking, trying to ignore him, examining the Combusken's wounds. A deep gash opened up in the front of her chest...one that went though deeply. She gasped for breath.

"Hold on Beka, don't leave me..." He whispered, digging into his bag for an Oran berry. Behind him the rest of the Team carefully made their way in, with Chris and Morana leading. At the sight of Beka, Crescendo cried out in alarm and slithered over, cringing as the voice laughed.

"You brought more I see! No matter!" It ended with a roar, the floor before the team suddenly exploding up and outwards, showing the Adventurers with rock and debris. Incultyr stepped forward, deflecting the pieces of stone with his own magic as Crescendo protected himself, Aiden, and the fallen Beka with a barrier.

"I...will take care of her." Cress assured Aiden, who left the Combusken reluctantly, turning back towards the fight. Regal the Garchomp appeared before them all, standing crouched before the group. He looked surprisingly old, his skin faded, covered in scars and scratches. But the blades on his arms looked deadly sharp, and no one in the Teams were willing to underestimate him.

Incultyr prepared himself for a fight; he was leaving here with Acer.

In a flash the battle began, a dark blue blur streaking towards Aiden. Regal remembers this particular Grovyle, and he had been the greatest threat out of the three that had challenged him previously.

Aiden's eyes glowed blue briefly, and with lightning reflexes the Grovyle dodged aside. Recognizing the Detect, the Garchomp very very quickly changed targets. As he zoomed towards the group clustered at the door, a sandstorm began raging all about him, filling the room.

Incultyr slammed both fists into the ground, sending up a wave of rock up before him. Regal swerved around it easily and went for the Houndour. With a yelp Morana ducked, a bladed wing passing harmlessly through where her head had been moments ago.

Chris had an orb in hand, and clutched it tightly as he set his bait. He created water, condensing them, battling the Sandstorm with Rain Dance. Regal stopped sharply, wind snapping around him him at the sudden change in velocity and the Garchomp lunged for Chris. He dropped his Rain Dance.

"Now Atra!" The Marshrompt cried out, detecting the attack with Foresight. He held up the orb and threw it before him before erecting a protect barrier. The Wonder Orb smashed against Regal's head, releasing a rushed of paralysing energy. The Garchomp slammed against the barrier just as Atra finished his spell.

The Dragon very quickly shook off the effects of the Foe-Hold orb, but was surprised to find ice coating his wings. He shuddered at the cold and the biting pain. He turned his head aside to see Atra in spellcasting, eyes narrowing. Interesting, a Flareon using Ice Magic.

With a roar Regal jumped on the spot, slamming down on the ground with all fours. A violent shaking wracked the entire complex, and the ground began to rip itself up into sharp points and edges. Regal soon disappeared into the ground, leaving his opponents to deal with the Earthquake. Atra swore as his concentration was broken.

The sandstorm died down, Regal having released his hold on that magic.

Crescendo was tightly wrapped around Beka, barely aware of the battle around them. As the ground began to tear up the Milotic opened his eyes, crying out in alarm. He grimaced as a shard of the glassy stone broke up from the floor and sliced into his delicate side.

Incultyr stabilized the ground around himself with his own control over the earth, and Atra managed to do the same on a much bigger scale with a plate-enhanced counter-Earthquake, stopping the attack under their entire party. Aiden stood his ground, glancing around the room carefully for Regal's reappearance.

The Garchomp burst up out of the ground before them. Aiden was in on him in a second, swallowing a Quick Seed and activating an Agility. Before any of the others could even react, a dark blue and a green blur were darting across the room around each other.

Morana closed her eyes and focused on the stream of time, which she accesses with her Future Sight. She was rarely good enough to do it actively, to seek out the future, but she did then with all her concentration. And suddenly, she saw it, a single moment in time several seconds from now. She could see exactly where Regal will be, where Aiden will be, a snapshot of their sight even as the others struggled to come up with ways to help.

And she sent an attack into that moment, seeing her opponent clearly. His speed did nothing for him, for at that moment, he could not be anywhere else. He could not dodge. She put all the power she could into that attack.

Seconds later, the blur that was Regal glowed brightly, and it flew past the group to crash into the nearest wall. Crescendo cried out in surprise as the Garchomp flew over him, but the Milotic's attention was quickly taken back to the stirring form of Beka's body.

Aiden came to a halt in front of him, holding up another Foe-Hold orb.

"You are under arrest." The Grovyle murmured grimly, smashing the orb at Regal's feet even as Atra summoned ice, freezing the Dragon to the wall to further immobilize him. Exhausted, Aiden slumped and turned back to look at the group.

"We have to...find the missing children. I'll-" He addressed the group, but was caught off guard when he heard an enraged roar behind him.

"AIDEN!"

The Grovyle turned in time to see the Garchomp's skin covered in dragonfire, the ice loosening its hold on him. The Dragon's eyes were glowing a dull red, showing his pure Outrage. The grass type reflexively moved an arm up to block as the Garchomp tore free of its bindings and rushed forward, slashing at the grass type.

A glowing white light began to form, highlighting the two as The Dragon's razor-sharp blades cut through the arm his opponent tried to block with, continuing on to leave a deep gash across his chest even as Aiden fell back in surprise.

The White Light rushed towards the two, cutting in between them before the Garchomp could finish the job. The Dragon lurched forward, the end of a long broadsword breaking through his spine and out his back.

An enraged Blaziken placed a foot on the Dragon, shoving him off with a fire-encrusted kick to free her sword, and then brought it back in, taking Regal's head off with a sideways swing. As he crumpled, Beka stabbed her sword down into the ground, spearing the Garchomp's body to the ground before turning to Aiden. The newly evolved Blaziken fell to her knees, ignoring her own injuries as she held Aiden close.

"Aiden...stay with me..." She whimpered. He replied with an incoherent moan.

Cress rushed to the pair in alarm, eyes widening at the sight of the Grovyle's severed arm, some sort of clear colourless liquid seeping out from the cut. Cress has never dealt with grass types before...but he had to try.

"Oh damn." Chris murmured, eyes wide as he rushed to his teammates. Incultyr turned to Atra, who seemed quite a loss as to what to do.

"You have your exploration badge don't you?" The Larvitar demanded, and Atra nodded. "Take them back now! Get Aiden and Beka to the hospital!"

The Flareon hesitated -he was sick of taking orders from other damn it!- but turned and ran towards the huddled group.

The larvitar then turned to Morana.

"C'mon, let's find Acer and the other kids and get out of here."

---

They found the locked room quickly. Incultyr fumbled with the lock picks Chris had fished out of Aiden's bag for him, and then finally decided to screw that and go with Beka's method; break it down.

Inside they found more than a dozen young Pokemon, each contained in a separate cage. They freed them and quickly gathered them into a group.

Morana hugged Acer tightly as Incultyr activated their badge.

"You IDIOTS!" The first thing to greet Incultyr on his return was an Arcanine with fangs bared and a very obvious anger. "After I told you not to, you decide to storm the den!?" His eyes darted from rescue team member to rescue team member. Although his anger did not dissipate, he was obviously relieved; the arrival of Team Trinity and co. had very obviously made him assume the worst. His eyes softened slightly on the Turtwig. "But it's good that you're alright. Now go back to your team room. You've done a duty for this city, even if you were stupid about it; you'll be rewarded for it. Besides... we're mobilizing. All civilians are to vacate the main path out of town, which includes here."

If he were to look around now, it would become readily apparent. There was a sizable force around. More than just a few Magnemite and Growlithe; it looked almost as if about half of the force had decided to mobilize. "We're confirming his death and dealing with the remnants of his crew. We can't afford to let them gather again."

Needless to say Team Polaris was forced out of the area whether they wanted to leave or not.

---

A small, unsteady knock came at Polaris's door later. Actually, it wasn't long after they had left; perhaps a half hour. They hadn't even the chance to leave for the hospital after making sure they themselves were fine. Chris the Marshtomp was outside. He spoke to Incultyr directly. "Aiden is... fine. Or as fine as he can be. They've got a great surgeon here, you know. A weavile. Stitched him up in no time." He let on a sad smile. "He's still unconscious. Of course, he just got out a few minutes ago... he should be under for the next few days."

He held up a small bag. It was held closed tight by a rope that circled the top. "We haven't gotten any rewards, yet, but... Aiden was talking about giving this to you. If..." He paused for a moment, trying to hold back his grief. "If he hadn't been injured, I think he would have wanted you to use this." Chris gave a nod and left shortly after. It was... Frenzy Plant? Grass Knot?

Mysteriously, no recruits came to look for Team Polaris afterwards. However, the newspaper had a revealing headline:

"Mysterious Murderer Managed!
Local teams 'Polaris' and 'Trinity' slew Regal the Garchomp and freed his captives.
Most members of criminal gang captured, rest on the run. Details on Crime page 1."

Well, that explained why no one had come looking for them. It also explained the basket that appeared on their doorstep without warning. A letter from the Arcanine was attached, informing them that the guild was granting them recognition for their deeds as well as a cheque for 4000 PD; a reward of sorts.

Team Room...

A small knock on the door awakened a rather grumpy Mila. She had been sleeping in a hammock slung across her plastic tree, realistic looking leaves covering her sleeping form. She grumbled for Otis to wake up and get the door, but Otis was knocked out on his own little pillow on the floor. As she blinked away the tired, she remembered Otis' social skills and figured she should get the door instead, anyway.

Mila's tail helped her find her balance as she ambled down her little fort. Her front paws formed fists of sorts, and she walked on all fours awkwardly to the door. Her long arm reached for the door knob, twisted it, and pulled it open. A yawn snuck up on her, and the paw holding the knob gently released and found it's way to her eye, scratching and pulling lightly on it, trying to rub the tired away.

"I am sorry to disturb your rest, but a lot of teams are already on missions, and I really would like your help."

Mila's eyes scanned the rather large Flygon. Her eyes had come into focus as her ears picked up the panic in the Flygon's voice. She was trying to remain calm, but Mila could see right through it. Especially because of the posture. The Flygon was wringing her hands and her wings and tail were twitching and fidgeting.

"My cave...my home, it has caved in. I had eggs in there...I don't even know if they will survive without my warmth, but you must help me at least try to get to them!"

The Flygon's eyes were watering now, and Mila understood that she needed to get Otis up and out. Now.

Mila turned and scrambled over to Otis' bed. She pawed at him with her hands and tail, tickling and poking and proding. Otis eventually blinked an eye at her, irritation was clear. Mila did not really care, however, and continued to push her weight against him, trying to roll him over to get him standing.

"There's a client at the door, and it is a very urgent call. A cave has fallen and is blocking her way to her eggs. We must hurry."

Otis seemed to understand the weight of the situation fairly quickly, and began to get to his feet when the Flygon came in uninvited. Otis gave her the up down, taking in her obvious anxiety. He couldn't do much besides quicken his pace. Neither team member minded her coming in without asking, she was a mother-to-be, with eggs that had more or less been taken away from her. She did what she had too, and sought out the guild, in hopes of finding a team that could comfort her and rescue her eggs and salvage whatever was left of her home. She did not appear weak, however. And if she was a Flygon, she had to come from somewhere where a lot of dragon types were around. Mila and Otis were small, but he was sure they could help somehow. Maybe a hole the pair could sneak through, and rescue her eggs one by one. A dragon type might act too impulsively, and crush the eggs by accident instead of save them.

Mila had the bag packed with their berries and apples, and the pair went through the door, a miserable mother following behind them. As soon as they got outside, the Flygon lowered her neck, allowing the team aboard. She flapped her wings a few times before the team went airborne, and then they were off. Their first official mission.

The Beginning

The Flygon landed a bit more hasitly then she meant too, and Otis slipped right off and a small thud was heard as his body hit the ground. Mila had long arms and an amazing grip, so she just sat laughing at her partner before remembering why they had been brought here in the first place. Fearful of hurting the mother any more than she already was, Mila slowly let go and slid off of her ride.

Mila's heart began to speed up its rhythm, aware that this was her first mission. The adrenaline began to pump through her, which she was thankful for. They were standing at the mouth of a cave. The sky was bright blue, the sun was shining and warm, but in front of her was nothing but pitch black. She could see absolutely nothing inside of the cave. Not even a foot past the entrance. How could that be? The sun was pointing directly into it? She had a bad feeling as she realized they were heading right into the heart of what could be the end. Mila looked up at the Flygon, and took in her size for the first time. Would they all be that big? Then she realized she was being a coward. She didn't care what size they were, she'd kick their a** any day, any place, and any time. She looked over at Otis to see if he felt the same.

Otis had been recovering from his fall when he heard Mila cut off her laughter. He was glad that she had remembered why they were here in the first place. He wished his mother had tried that hard to come into contact with her children, even if it was just to check in and make sure they were ok. He blandly wondered if the Flygon had had children before this, or if this was her first litter. He decided he'd keep his mouth shut, if she wanted to talk, she would. He turned his attention to Mila, who was waiting patiently in front of the entrance, waiting for his lead. Or so he thought. Either way, he walked proudly and boldly in front of her, and entered the mouth of the cave without a second thought. Mila's jaws dropped as he melted into the darkness instantly. She looked up at the Flygon, ears and tails perking and fidgeting with rage.

"It's a kind of illusion...your eyes will adjust. I will be your eyes until then."

Mila hated the fact that the client had withheld information like this. She had a feeling that the Flygon was looking for Pokemon with more experience, but she knew the pair she had picked were not. So why hadn't she filled them in so they could better prepare themselves? There must have been some sort of item or something to help them with this sort of situation. She huffed but knew better than to yell at a client. Especially their first client. She would probably be their last if Mila chose to throw a fit now. See? Who said she couldn't choose her battles wisely? Mila, like Otis, walked proudly into the mouth of the cave, quickly engulfed by the darkness. Maybe she wasn't as headstrong as everyone said she was.

The Flygon entered quickly and without hesitation, and she caught sight of her pair forking, walking in two completely directions. She huffed, grabbed Otis by the tail, and Mila by hers.

"Where do either of you think you are headed? I know where my home is."

"You should speak more."

Mila grunted in support of her partners blunt words. This was new to them, and each figured they knew best. They almost forgot what exactly they were here for, and that the Flygon was with them.

"Well...we need to head more down and to the left. It gets brighter just down and around this ledge. We have torch lights strung up down there"

The mouth of the cave was as dark as it was for a reason. Protection. The Dragon's Den was not a place wild Pokemon just wondered in and out of. Most who went in, did not come back out. For smart Pokemon, the pitch blackness was a deterrent. For dumb Pokemon, it was a challenge. A challenge that oh so many before them had failed, but they were sure they had been chosen. And they eventually got chosen. Whether it be breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Of course, mommy Flygon had no intentions of informing her team of this.

"By the way, my name is Sola. We didn't really have any introductions made."

Mila would put her front fists down on the ground, and slowly apply weight before having her feet catch up. The sand felt eerily soft in some spots, and this worried her. For the most part it was rocky and hard, packed in steadfastly from all the large dragons padding it down for years. Yet every now and again Mila came across a spot that was soft and dry, almost pulling her down.

"I'm Mila. This is my partner Otis. He's socially retarded."

Otis went to glare at her, but it was still too dark to make anything out besides the two moving darker outlines that were behind him. It was then that his foot couldn't find ground, and he began to fall forward. He hadn't expected it, so he hadn't braced himself or been able to pull back. The Flygon pounced forward, grabbed Otis by the tail, and brought him up with ease. He was lighter in weight than her own unborn eggs.

"Thanks."

Sola's head tilted as she began to wonder if she had made a mistake. Mila had a feeling Sola was beginning to wonder if she had made a mistake. Otis felt stupid for making a mistake, and nearly falling toward his death. Little did he know that it was a tiny drop off of about three feet, and Sola hadn't really needed to save him.

Otis sighed, wondering what the afterlife was like since he know had a near death experience under his belt. He silently thought about getting a belt soon, when Sola spoke up again.

"Uhm...guys? There's a ramp to the right, just stick against the wall and follow it. It'll take us down, you'll see lights soon."

Otis went right until his head hit the wall, and then rubbed and twisted against it until his right side lay up against it. Sola watched with big eyes, trying not to laugh at his strategy. How had he even become a part of a rescue guild? Mila kept a hand out until it hit the wall, and then left it there as she started to move forward. Only a few steps and she had bumped into Otis' butt.

"Dude. Go forward."

The irritation was coming back to Mila. She had some pent up rage from earlier. This was new to her. Normally anger came and she let it out. It wasn't often she kept it bottled up. She hoped a Pokemon would come their way soon, so she might begin kicking some tail.

Otis felt the wall turn significantly, and he kept his body pressed against the wall as best as he could. Mila followed. Otis liked thinking that she was following him. He liked the idea of being in charge. He guessed that's why he went to the guild and started up a team. He had to try to remember they were partners though, he wasn't just the leader...she was the co-leader, even though that demoted the name and made her seem less important. Otis could feel the soil beneath him getting a bit warmer. He began to see flickerings of light, and began to make out shapes and then was able to tell what was wall and what was floor. The cave did not seem as threatening now that he could see it. It had lost it's element of mystery, its surprise was gone. A triumphant smile spread across the Eevee's face. It wouldn't last long, though.

The spots Mila had felt previously started up again, and now that they were in the light, she looked down to see what was trying to pull her under. Small dirt-colored poofs were bubbling, almost. It looked like they were seeping up from under the dirt, but why did it feel dry then...? Mila's mind and eyes hurt as neither registered exactly what was going on. Otis did not seem to notice at first, and had continued walking down the small tunnel of light when he realized no one was following him. The young brute turned to scorn his partner and client, but then followed their gaze just as his mouth opened to speak. His head tilted at the same strange oddity his friends were.

The small dirt covered blue bodies all of a sudden were released from the ground, each making a small pop sound at the displaced air. At least a dozen Swablu had made quite the entrance, and Mila's ears drooped as she realized there were more behind them, probably planning to surprise attack when the team had dealt with the current dozen, or left themselves vulnerable for one. She cringed at the thought of having stepped on a few. They had also tried to pull her under, it felt like. Was there an underground nest where they would have devoured her...? The rage swelled in her where fear normally would have in anyone else's belly. Her heart race pounded and she could feel the blood rushing inside her ears. One of her eyes gave a small twitch before an arm shot out and above her and grabbed the nearest Swablu.

Otis' jaw dropped as for a moment he really thought his partner was about to eat the head off of the poor thing. He saw the terror in the Swablu's eye as well as it must have thought the same thing. Instead she gave a tight squeeze, causing the Pokemon to give a helpless squeak, and then he watched his partner jump and whip the thing into another Swablu. Both fell to the ground and he watched as they heaved and wheezed, trying hard just to breathe. Although this was a frightful scene, Otis noted that the other Swablu did not back down. They kept further and out of reach of Mila, but they had no intentions of backing off. Otis knew that Mila hated being swindled, especially since that was generally her type of game. Otis' tail drooped as he knew this was probably going to be a massacre, but at least they'd show the Flygon they were worthy of being in the guild. And Otis knew there was doubt on him, but he'd prove himself. He had too. Not so much for Sola, but for Mila. His tail swished and then curved upwards in an aggressive position, and he grumbled and growled and showed his teeth before dashing in serpentine directions, wanting to get the attention of some of their opponents, while also getting in multiple skirmishes with different Swablu and inflict a good amount of damage all around. Mila looked at her partner, wanting to tell him about the other Swablu behind them, but she wasn't sure if they'd attack or not, and hadn't heard any other pop sounds. She grimaced as she realized the Swablu's wings made no sound as they flapped or flew, the wings were too light and fluffy. She watched as her partner picked up a drastic amount of speed, and nodded as she understood what she was doing. Besides going every which way and bumping into and biting random Swablu, all eyes were on him as they tried to figure out if his patterns were really random or if they were the next target. Mila skirted in the shadows, and quickly scanned the Swablu's formation. There seemed to be one noisier Swablu then the rest, and sometimes after a seemingly random sqwuak or squeak, the formation would switch and turn. Mila targeted the Swablu, trying not to lose it in the mess of other Swablu. She crossed her forearms and charged towards it, her tail flinging lightly behind her, almost slowing her down. She pounced into the air, putting her side more towards the ground so she could spin into the opponent and gain more power with the hit. Right before the two collided, Mila raised her forearms and brought them down into a hard chop that smacked the Swablu down. Otis was there in an instant, delivering the final bite attack that knocked out the leader for good. Little did the team know that it had been a diversion, and this Swablu was not, in fact, the leader. Otis and Mila observed the battle ground, Swablu drifting with no purpose or intention. The team's bellies were rising and falling quick as they panted to catch their breaths. Mila's head tilted(making her whole body tilt since she's kind of sphere shaped) as she looked into the darkness they had recently left behind. Like the entrance of the cave, seeing into the darkness was not an option. It was pitch black right after the circle of light from the torch ended. She was glad that when they were done with the mission they'd just be able to teleport out, she did not like the idea of having to walk through there again. Especially now that she knew there were enemies right under their noses the whole time.

A small team of Swablu had been quietly marching through the darkness, giggling at Mila and Otis and their tired forms. The Swablu had been mildly impressed by their performance, and they had good potential as a team, the two worked well together. But they were also in the den, and this was home territory. The Swablu were just making fun, since it wasn't often prey just willingly walked into their midst. One Swablu inhaled sharply as Mila's head tilted and aimed her stare right at them. A wing quickly flew up and in front of his mouth, shushing him. The Swablu flung it's gaze around toward the offender, reminding him that they were in the darkness. They were safe here. But as the leader's gaze returned towards their prey, he inhaled sharply. The two were gone. They rushed forward, the leader shouting now,

"Where did they go?! How did you let them get away?!"

He was about to punish all of them when they were rushed from behind. The two had hidden just around the corner, Sola holding a hand to her mouth as she tried to repress giggles. The leader roared in disgust that his team had not given him some sort of warning. Of course they had, his anger just made him act impulsively. Not a good trait for a leader. Either way, Otis and Mila quickly jumped him. He stood out for his slightly larger size, and since he was the one who roared and screamed, they could only safely assume it was him.

"Don't worry, we just have a few questions, right Mila?"

"No. I'd be worried if I was him."

The leader of the Swablu looked at Mila. For something so small she sure packed a powerful punch. Although the Swablu understood how size was so easily underestimated. His mind did twirl and twist in worry, thinking of any sort of means of getting himself out of the situation unharmed. His loyal army required orders, since they were also rather dimwitted. That's how he had recruited them in the first place. In the den there were thousands of the little buggers, but none of them were really dumb enough to want to form an army. They didn't need one, considering they were surrounded by dragons. But this particular Swablu enjoyed toying with prey and had found the dumbest Swablu and rounded them up. For sport more than anything else.

"Ask your questions, and I will answer fully and honestly if I am to fly away afterwards, unharmed."

The Swablu had chosen his words carefully, but Mila really didn't care even a little bit. She wasn't one for negotiations, and Otis' tail flicked patiently as a smirk spread across his face. Otis had one wing pinned down with his forepaws, and Mila had one lanky arm and fist pinning down the other. Her right and strongest forepaw was free, and quite intimidating. Otis knew that Mila wasn't one to go easy.

"You'll answer fully and honestly, yep. I can't promise you'll fly away, unharmed."

The Swablu clicked his tongue within his beak, clearly being sarcastically upset. He gave an exaggerated sigh and dramatically rolled his head backwards as if he were feigning death,

"Kill me now, then. For I shall answer no questions if my beautiful face will get destroyed anyway."

His theatrical performance was superb. All eyes were on him, except one tiny Swablu all the way at the end of the lighted tunnel. She understood the click of the tongue and the dramatic show her leader was putting on. It was a secret sign for her specifically. It was a sign that meant for her to go and get the backup. The leader wasn't well liked within the den. Mostly because he made an army up of easily controlled Swablu, but also because he toyed with prey that normally was meant for the larger dragons as a meal. So they had struck a deal with him. He was to take only small and meaningless(to their bellies) prey, and the rest were to be sent to them. He had stuck loyally to his word, and even helped fatten up the beasties bigger preys, making them feel welcome and comfortable, and making them completely vulnerable to the dragons. They didn't even have to put up a chase, they'd walk right into the dragons homes. In exchange, they'd help him out of any sticky predicaments he ever got himself into. This was definitely a sticky predicament, and he certainly needed help getting out of it. He gurgled a laugh as Mila's free paw had found his throat and lightly applied pressure.

"We are a team from the rescue guild. We're here to locate and rescue Sola's eggs. There was a cave in that collapsed in her home. Can you tell us anything about that? Is this cave no longer safe, or was it an attack with intent?"

She had found the underground technique the Swablu's had taken up a tad suspicious, and figured that couldn't be good for the structural stability of the cave. Otis looked up at his partner mildly surprised, the thought not really occurring to him. These Swablu's looked like they stayed close to the mouth of the cave. Sola's den had to be deeper inside the cave, would purpose would the Swablu have down there...? Although he figured Mila had good intention just making sure no one was up to no good down in the den, making it unsafe for all of its inhabitants. He smiled, beamingly proud of his partner. Sola noticed this and could feel the bond being made between the two partners. She was glad she got a chance firsthand to see it in the makings, she had a feeling this team would only grow more and more as time passed by. Either way, the young Swablu was returning with the new threat.

"You might want...to make...my death a little...faster..."

The leader was struggling to get the words past Mila's fist, which was still lightly laying upon his throat. Just enough to get him dizzy.

"I'm not going to kill you. I'm not a murderer."

Another gurgly laugh escaped from the Swablu's mouth, although in short chops. Otis couldn't help but feel kind of nervous about the Swablu's reaction to Mila choking him out. Surely he had another trick up his sleeve to act so calmly. His quizzical look only got returned by a determined gaze in Mila's eyes. She thought the Swablu was bluffing. Otis nodded and made his gaze more fixed, not wanting to appear so thrown off. Sola's eyes twisted as she began head counting. She twisted back towards her employees, but wanted to be sure, so turned to count again, but noticed the small flapping Swablu returning to her post. Sola tapped Otis on the shoulder without turning back, she was staring hard into the gaze of the tiny Swablu, who smugly returned the unblinking stare.

"What?"

He turned, which shifted his weight more to his back legs. The leader took the chance of vulnerability and struggled against his captors. Mila growled and tightened her grip, making her enemy couch and hack, but he eventually twisted his mouth around and rammed his beak hard into Mila's belly, something he couldn't have done if Otis had him fully pinned, instead of loosely pinned. Mila stumbled backward, a hand spread tightly against her chest. A drop of blood made it's way through her splayed fingers, and at the sight of it, Mila's pupils dilated. Instincts were about to take over when the leader swooped into the air, and raced to the far reaches of the tunnel, where now the team's and Sola's gaze came to rest on a new opponent. A larger one. A Gabite. Neither Otis nor Mila expected to see such a large brute until much later on their mission. They had barely made it a hundred feet into their mission, and they were already bleeding and up against a Gabite. Otis took his spot, standing protectively in front of his bleeding partner.

"We have only come here to try and rescue Sola's eggs, and make sure the cave isn't about to collapse. Wouldn't you want to know your home is safe and not about to kill you?"

The Gabite said nothing, only charged towards the team with a speed of such intensity, Otis' eyes narrowed from all the air being pushed out and away from him. He couldn't even suck any in when he tried to inhale, which made him panic on the inside a little. Mila pushed her partner out of the way with one lanky arm at the last second, and the pair watched as the Gabite charged right past him. He skidded to a halt, and Otis grabbed Mila's arm in his mouth and began to run deep into the cave, but Mila had no intentions of running. Her instincts had replaced all thought. The Gabite charged towards her, and Mila stretched out her arms as far as they'd go, and she braced her legs. The Gabite rammed all of its weight and power at her, and she skidded back, but kept her stance, and her arms up. She got a grip on the Gabite's arm fins, and jumped into the air. The ceiling wasn't very high, but she twisted, putting her feet towards the ceiling. Otis high-tailed it out of the way, jaw dropping at his partner. What was she doing? For a moment the two Pokemon remained on the ceiling, the Gabite struggling to get away, but also not sure what was happening, and was honestly a bit disorientated. Mila kicked her feet against the wall, twisted so the Gabite's back would hit the ground, and rammed him into the ground. A small poof of soil stung the eyes of Otis and most of the drifting Swablu that had yet to flee.

Otis remembered the leader of the Swablu a second too late, who had used Take Down. All Otis saw was dirt and all he felt was pain as he was crushed into the ground. The Swablu leader had hurt himself by doing this, giving Otis a second to hurt him, but really he needed the second just to recover himself. Upset that he had been put in an unfair fight, he turned, and decided two could play at that game. He recognized the battle ground had no real benefits for him, but it also had no benefits for his enemy. As a Swablu, his ideal battle ground would be outdoors and with places to hide. He seemed to know close range attacks, adapting to his walled environment. His rear went into the air, making the Swablu think he was about to leap into the air, he squished himself down and low to the ground, ready to dodge out of the way of any attacks Otis might preform or jumpstart in the air, but at the last second he went forward instead of up, and before the Swablu even knew what had hit him, Otis slammed into his side with speeds that could give the Gabite a run for his money. Otis doubled back and left his mouth open until it felt the fluff of the Swablu's wing, and then chomped down and through the cloud-like wing. The Swablu cried out at it's new handicap, and it's eyes filled with tears.

"I know nothing about the cave being unstable! We only burrow ourselves under the soil, we pack it back in when we're done, I swear...."

Otis hadn't even had to ask, though he was sure the Swablu thought the pain would stop if he answered the questions. He released the wing, but it would do no good to relieve any pain. Otis tasted blood in his mouth, so hawked up a loogie as best as he could, swishing it around his mouth to try to clean his teeth of it, and spat it out violently, looking after his partner, the Swablu moaning and complaining.

Mila certainly had herself in a tight situation. She was growling and sputtering at her opponent, but she did not have the advantage. The Gabite looked cool and collected, threatening and intimidating all the while. Otis began to move forward, although he could not find a strategic way to bounce into the brawl. Perhaps Sola could....wait, where was Sola?

Sola had decided to help, and had slipped into the darkness while attention was on everyone else. A few floating Swablu noticed, but without orders, they had no purpose. No one had told them to act as sirens if anyone on the opposing side had slinked away, so they did not act as sirens. Sola had time to sit quietly and collect her thoughts, focusing all her rage on the Gabite. She hadn't gotten the young team into this mess, and she definitely still needed them. She could not let them die now. She flew up and forward, almost so quickly if you blinked you missed it. It was almost as if she had vanished and reappeared right behind the Gabite.

"I do not think so, not today."

She released a punch that was unfair to her opponent, but the enemy had already decided they wanted no rules applied. She then grabbed him by the shoulders before he could slink forward and onto the ground.

"You should never come between a mother and her children!"

Mila smiled at her new toy. A kind of punching bag, and Sola smiled at her, nodding slightly. Mila nodded in reply and understanding, and her gaze lightened. No need to be so serious. She pounced forward, an arm rocking back and swinging forward with all the power she could muster. Her karate chop connected with the Gabite's head, making it swivel and twist in a strange manner. Sola released, and let the Gabite thud to the ground. Mila clapped and swiped her hands, cleaning them of such filth. She turned and ambled over to her partner, who's jaw was dropped further than she thought it could go. Otis only saw brutality and injustice from the two. They were on a rescue mission, not a 'kill everything in your way' mission. He shook the thoughts, all of a sudden worried HE'd be the next target.

But Sola was right, and she had acted quite appropriately, one should never get in the way of a mother trying to rescue her children. She had thought about using brute force to save her babies, but what stopped her was crushing them. She was afraid removing boulders might cave them in even worse, if they had not already been crushed. She had made a smart move instead of an impulsive one, which may have just saved her kin.

The plot thickens...

"Don't worry, I know exactly where we are. We just have to keep following this path. I'll let you know when it's time to turn."

The three had been cautiously meandering through the ever-weaving paths of the cave. Mila had been getting a tad nauseous the more they traveled deeper and deeper into the cave, which seemed to be going down at steep and dramatic intervals. She had no clue who would want to live in the deep dark depths of such a place, but she figured she'd never be able to understand because she grew up outside and high up in the trees. Otis didn't really mind, except when he'd trip he'd feel like an idiot. He always tried to act like it was intentional or try to pass it off as something other than a trip.

"I don't want to walk in silence."

No one responded, since there wasn't much to say. They were all doing their best just to walk, and Mila was focusing on her breathing too much to really want to respond. The deeper they went the thicker the air seemed to get, the damper it seemed to get. Mila tried to keep her breathing steady, but each breath felt like it held less oxygen in it than the last. Otis looked over at her, curious at her new struggle. What was she doing? To him, all he could see was her mouth opening wide and trying to suck in something that wasn't there. She almost seemed like a Magikarp trying stupidly to suck in water even though it was on land. Her eyes even seemed to get smaller. Sola ducked her head closer to Otis,

"She must be a tad claustrophobic."

Otis looked around, tail drooping and dragging on the ground. They weren't in a tight space, they were in a rather large one. It was so dark he could barely make out the walls and ceiling, it was just black nothingness, like most of the cave had been. But they were far from being able to run to the exit, which was also the entrance. Was there only one way in and one way out? He stopped moving forward. Mila bumped into him, and the two grabbed each other in a hug and began to scream in unison.

Sola rolled her eyes and brought her palm up her face and began to shake her head disapprovingly. They went from having great potential to five year olds in a matter of minutes. Not to mention every dragon should have been napping at this time of day, but the blood curdling screams of Tweedle-Dumb and Tweedle-Dumber had probably woken up the hungrier dragons of the nest. Great, just what they need. The hungriest beasts waking up and coming to give them hell. She grabbed the scruff of each Pokemon in one hand, and lifted them up to her face, the lenses covering her eyes shined as the two met her gaze,

"You two are going to shut your traps! This is not just any old cave, this is a cave where even Zubat dare not reside! These dragons eat first and ask questions later, if at all. My eggs are down there, and possibly on the brink of death. So you two are going to nut up, and start acting like a rescue team, got it?"

Both of the two gulped in unison, and nodded slowly. They murmured small apologies and were swiftly and roughly placed back on the ground. Ashamed, they both stared down at their feet for a moment before turning and picking up the pace again. Mila and Otis exchanged a quick sideways glance of shame, and that was it. No more words.

Without anyone's knowledge, Pokemon did begin to swarm and follow the team and Sola. Some recognized Sola and stayed away, realizing it was important these Pokemon were not eaten so long as they were with her. Others couldn't have them get to Sola's den, and were determined to run them out of the cave with their tails between their legs. Secrets seemed to hush all around them, whispers tickling the team's and Sola's ears, but they didn't stick around to try to make them out, they just picked up the pace and tried to hurry without making any mistakes.

Of course, it didn't take long for a rather nasty opponent to get ahead of them. A small bout of clapping stopped everyone in their tracks. Otis gave a small gulp, and Mila's fury begin to burn as she head her partner gulp. She was getting sick of this place, and she wasn't going to let that make her vulnerable. In fact, she was ready for a fight to break the sudden droll that had taken over their mission.

"Really, an inspiring and touching little speech you made back there, Sola. Of course, you didn't really expect these little rugrats to be of any use to you, did you? You look happy to see me..."

The Flygon stepped in from beyond the shadows. His voice had been raspy and full of anger. It was almost like he couldn't get all the words out fast enough, even though he had talked rather slow. He grinned maliciously over to Sola, who nearly took a step back. She seemed larger than this Flygon, yet she seemed terrified. Perhaps he had evil henchmen lurking in the darkness behind him. Otis nearly gulped again, but pitted his emotions deep into himself, keeping a determined look on his face. Mila glanced over at him, and then proudly gave him a nod. As a rescuer, he'd have to be able to do that often. And well. If the Flygon had looked at him, she would have been able to tell if he bought it, but he kept his gaze transfixed at Sola. Not a good move on his part, but he probably figured Mila and Otis were useless little worms that couldn't harm him. An advantage, in Mila's opinion. He'd probably figure the team would be too scared and witless to try anything. Oh how wrong he'd be to cross Mila's path. Not today, a day where she had managed to be swindled twice in a row. Not a mistake she'd make again, her eyes scanned the darkness, searching for any tiny speck of movement.

"Soran...I...what do you want?"

Sola tried hard to make her words seem confident, but too much she faltered, and her voice had gotten a bit whisp-ier, as if she was turning in on herself in fear. The fight or flight theory seemed to have her flying away. Mila was proud to say Otis chose to fought, and it made her feel even prouder of her team. Even though they still had no name. She looked back towards the new enemy, wondering what he'd say next, but trying not to get overly distracted by it. She kept her eyes on the darkness, and her ears perked as much as she could handle. Otis seemed to be doing the same, but he kept checking over his shoulder, looking into the darkness behind them. Mila thought this was smart, and the two began to alternate their shifts. For a while one would look forward and the other back, and then shift.

"You knew what I wanted, but did not listen. I took matters in my own hands. Do you really think your den would just collapse for no reason? I know you, and I know you scouted out the best mothering den you could find to give birth. I told you to rid of them, or I would. You knew if Hannah had found them she would have killed you. I tried to save you, the only way I knew how. I figured you'd fled for good."

Sola grumbled and growled and spat, the other side of her was coming back, and Otis winced as she moved forward, leaving the two behind her. Mila nearly lowered her aggressive stance with all the new waters being trodden through. But she quickly regained position and looked at Otis to make sure he had as well.

"And I told you those babies were mine and I would raise them on my own. I thought we had come to an understanding."

Disbelief clouded her voice, apparently she had no clue that Soran could have been behind all of this. Deep down she wanted to believe it was an accident, and all along it was really him. The love of her life, killing the only thing she had left of him.

"We did. I understood you would not listen to reason, so I waited for the oppurtune moment. Without a male mate to bring you food, I knew you'd have to leave after your stash ran out, which I also helped deplete. Bagons were very fat for the next few weeks."

Speaking of Bagons, one had indeed been creeping up to Mila and Otis all the while. Of course, Otis had noticed it slightly before, and as the two shifted he cast a look over to his partner that let her know something was up. She scouted for it, and as she found it, she initiated another shift to let her partner known she had indeed spotted it. The two kept up their shifts as if nothing happened, luring in the Bagon slowly but surely.

"How can you murder your own children? How can you rip away the only way I was coping? I was going to leave you alone, all I asked for was our children."

"Don't you DARE speak of such things in here! You already messed up the lives of these runts, you want to ruin mine as well? I gave you fair warning and an extremely long head start. I told you you could keep them, just not here."

Sola's head drooped in shame and in grievance, she was giving up on the eggs, it seemed. Mila decided they'd still find the eggs, even if all it provided was some closure. A mother should never have to wonder if she made the right or wrong choice by just leaving, it was more than possible the eggs were all right. It seemed like Soran wanted to kill them but not by his own hands. It was possible he had no idea of their demise, or if there was a demise at all. It was then though, that the team was ripped away from the drama and pulled into some of their own.

"It's not them you have to worry about. It's me. I'll be your end. Any last words?"

"None that you'll ever hear!"

Mila had known exactly where the Bagon had been hiding. He hadn't exited the darkness of the tunnel yet, but he had meant for his voice to be a surprise, but he had lost that element to his plan a long time ago. Mila had pounced into the air and backwards, landing right behind the little bugger. At least he was their size, she figured. A good appetizer to begin their long mission with. She clasped a paw around the Bagon's mouth so he could not summon for help. He attempted to bite her, but she dealt him a low kick before he could sink his teeth all the way in. He went stumbling forward and she released him so his face could smash into the ground. He rolled all the way to Otis, who lifted a paw and put it on the Bagon to keep him from rolling any further. He applied his weight on that particular foot as he hunched over to the Bagon's face.

"What's that? Caught off guard, are you? Do dragons no longer have any sense of dignity? They must play by no rules so they can get the upper hand?"

"Dude. Too far."

Otis looked up and shrugged, and then lunged forward, sinking his teeth deep into the Bagon's arm. The newly wielded pain seemed to rejuvenate some life into the Bagon, as he whipped his newly scarred arm out of Otis' mouth, and banged it hard over Otis' head. Mila rampaged forward, lanky arm winding back and ready to fling forward with all the force driving her run. The Bagon ducked and turned, and got the Karate Chop to the back, which still inflicted a good amount of damage, albeit not as much as if it had whacked him in the face like Mila had planned.

A tad frustrated, Mila gave a quick sigh before narrowing her eyes at the opponent as he jumped back a step or two. The Bagon returned the death glance, and Otis kind of tipped his ear and pouted out his bottom lip. He couldn't help but feel a bit left out of the exchange. He quickly sucked his lip back in though, and realized he had a clear and open shot to take. His feet propelled him forward, and his body slammed into the Bagon before anyone, even Otis, knew what had happened. Mila let out a small shriek as she herself rushed forward, wanting to catch the Bagon on the second wind. Her leg twisted back, and she spun to the side a bit as she grabbed the Bagon by the back of the head, and lodged her foot deep into his gut. She felt the air leave the Bagon's body, and listened as he choked trying to hold on to some. Mila grumbled as she backed away and watched the Bagon fall forward, gasping for air, working hard to get his lungs to trust him again. Otis trumped over and let his rump fall on the Bagon, making him finally give in and lay flat on the ground. Otis' tail gave a small twitch as his eyes scanned the area, Mila turned to keep his back safe.

"So much for last words."

Mila grunted in reply, but she said nothing else. Convinced they were safe for the moment, she allowed herself a peak over and towards where Sola and Soran were last. Where had they gone? They couldn't have gotten past them, since it was not an overly large tunnel. They had to have gone upwards, instead of downwards. Mila groaned, wanting to go down to get the mission over with. Instead she took her frustration out on the Bagon. She bore her teeth and leaned in close to the Bagon,

"So. What do you know? Did he take her somewhere? Where are the eggs?"

The Bagon still seemed to be gasping for air, so Mila was as patient as she could be, knowing if he had answers, she needed them. The answers were more important than her being able to release stress. In fact, the stress would probably help the fights that were ahead. Mila did her best to bottle it, so she could release it all at once in an explosion-like fashion.

"He may have taken her to the mouth of the cave, or she could have overpowered him. They could still be fighting. The eggs are in her den, you'll know it when you get there. Only the big dragons reside in that particular bit of the cave. Hatchlings are loud, you'll be able to follow their voices soon..."

Mila had enjoyed this bit of information, but she could see determination in her partners eyes. He seemed worried about their client, and she could understand that. Why rescue eggs if there was no mother to care for them? Soran had definitely meant business, and not good business. But they couldn't afford to waste any time. They would have to separate, at least for a little while.

"Otis, I'll go and try to find Sola. You're a bit smaller so you'll be able to fit through the opening for the eggs better. Even if Sola is gone, it might be worth it to save the eggs and find someone to care for them."

Otis' face seemed solemn, as if he was trying to figure something out in his head. Mila started but stopped, unsure if he had even heard her. Her ears perked, listening for anything. Any sound at all. The team could not afford to hesitate! They were losing by just standing still. It was then that her eyes picked up the faintest movement. It was Otis, he was trembling. Ever so slightly, and not out of fear, but out of pure anger. Mila nearly took a step back, never had her partner been anything but upbeat and positive, if not slightly confused. But now she was the one who was confused. She found herself raising her arm in alarm, for protection in case Otis was about to do something stupid.

"You go after the eggs. I'm going for Sola."

He left no room for discussion as he bounded away from Mila, leaving her with her jaw dropped. What had he done...? Could he make it on his own? She felt her every instinct pushing her to go, she even felt her feet start to carry her toward him, but she stopped herself. They were a team, but they were also a rescue team. Their job was not to protect each other, but protect the innocent. She brought her paw to her brow and pushed against her temple for a second, trying to settle her nerves. She grunted and turned on her heel, clamping her fist around the Bagon's throat. All that bottled anger was a mistake, as she was not able to hold onto it like she thought she could. The Bagon's face started to drain of color, and she tossed him hard into the wall of the tunnel. He hacked and gagged, but Mila was already darting through the tunnel, no longer having any time to waste.

The tunnel would narrow every now and again, and then she'd notice that the tunnel would expand strangely, as if a large dragon pushed itself through to make the opening larger. The tunnel was damp and the air was awful, Mila found herself gasping and gagging, not unlike the Bagon. She'd jump into offensive stance every time a drop of water hit her on the head or nose, thinking someone was attacking. The deeper she got, the more light headed she seemed to get. She found herself thirsty and her tongue had been exiting her mouth, bit by bit, searching for something, anything a bit more wet than the inside of her dry mouth. She began to nod off, even as she was walking, and she'd have to shake herself awake. Her eyes remained heavy. She was becoming dehydrated, but she couldn't figure out due to the fatigue and light-headed-ness. It was then that the sounds reached her ears. It took her mind a while to register it, but they were the sounds of squeals and laughter.

The tunnel finally ended, and opened into a dome like structure. Young dragon types were bounding around, tackling each other and trying to jump and fly just for a few feet. In the far end of the dome was a gush of water, filling a small pool in the ground. Mila darted after it, on all fours. She tripped, right before reaching the pool, and so her whole body flipped forward and landed in the small pool. Her mouth opened while she was under, and sucked in so much water, Mila was sure she was about to drown. She twisted and broke the surface. She gasped for air, but her head dipped back down to suck in more water as well. By now, all the hatchlings were watching her in amazement. They had never left the confines of the cave before, so Mila was a thing to be gawked at.

"Look! A moving hairball!"

Mila narrowed her eyes at the source of the insult, a young and pinkish Gible. She was about to retort when all the hatchlings looked nervous all of a sudden. The abrupt halt in their play time had not gone by unnoticed by the parents that were hanging back in the shadows. Mila finally felt the imminent danger set in. How reckless she had been to foolishly run for the water, without even trying to be sneaky. Had the kids not stopped playing, she may have been able to slip past. Alone, she could not take on the giant beasts that lurked in the shadows. She was far outnumbered. Even one of these giants beasties would have been one too many. She sputtered a little, coughing out some water that had gone down the wrong tube.

A small Trapinch came forward, a look of arrogance was strangely pasted onto the purple face that was too young to be so smug. The coloring looked familiar, though. The secondary colors on Soran had been this tint of purple. It dominated the young Trapinch's body, but he wore it with pride. Too much pride.

"Looks like a nice meal to me, huh mommah?"

A lot of the children had scattered at this point, returning to their mother's bellies and keeping themselves safe and warm. Mila kind of wished for a moment that she could do the same, but then remembered where she was. She was glad none of the parents were charging after her, but even these big dragon types were behaving, which meant only one thing; there was something bigger lurking in the dark. Course, it did not stay in the dark for long. A foot stepped forward, followed by another. This seemed to go by so slowly, but that was only because Mila could feel herself holding her breath. She had a serious sensation that she knew who this was. The creature finally fully emerged from the depths of the darkness. It was a strangely pure white Flygon, with bright red goggles around its eyes. It looked kind of sickly, but Mila could not really tell why. There was just something slightly off about it. She wasn't given too much time to think about it, however.

"This is no hairball, kids. This is one of the runts threatening to take my husband away."

There was a small murmur of disapprovals and growls, the crowd quickly becoming more and more of a threat to Mila's life. Mila could feel her ears and tail just droop, and the coldness of the water had finally reached her skin, causing small goose bumps to rise. A small tremor started from the base of her spine, and it slowly crawled up her back. She wasn't sure if she should move, but she could not stay in the pool of water. Shivers from the cold would be misunderstood as fear, and Mila could not have these giants thinking she was the kind of Pokemon to tuck her tail and run. She would not give them the satisfaction of a chase. Without any trees around, Mila was grounded. Destined to be towered over by the intimidating cave dwellers, left to her own devices. And Hannah, who was inching ever closer to Mila's small, dripping form. Mila slowly clambered out of the pool, but was sure to make her movements slow and gentle, trying to keep her body language neutral. The sick smile that was twisting on Hannah's face left Mila feeling dizzy. She could kind of understand why these beasts were so easily persuaded by this Flygon. She did not even need words to have Pokemon bend to her will...there was something else...

Meanwhile...

Otis had bounded off and away from Mila, not stopping once. His nose had tried to help guide him, but the cave was overly damp and the air was too stingy. It didn't really move, just kept him from breathing it in. His ears swiveled and flicked, but the cave's sounds were too loud and unfamiliar for Otis to sort them out. He kept his pace, maybe even pushing himself every now and again when his eye caught sight of a random foot print or dull indent on the ground. The two flygon's had been fly-fighting, it seemed. And whenever one was pushed into the ground, it was hard enough to pack the dirt in even further. The foot prints were light, but noticeable. Otis kept up his tracking skills, his ears honing in on something familiar. He tried not to get overly excited, but he was positive it was Sola that he could hear. Her voice...begging...Otis' eyes narrows and he moved toward the sound. Determined.

"Soran, I really am sorry I just...I thought...maybe if you saw them..."

"Hannah chose me, the only way for you to be safe was to leave. But you didn't! You disobeyed me. You killed those children."

"YOU did! I was just trying to give them what they deserved, a father. And instead you tried to starve me? To drive me away and kill our children? That b***h has brainwashed you! Just like everyone else."

This seemed to break Soran, but not in the way Sola had thought. She was hoping to reach him, bring him out of himself and return him to his normal self. She missed that normal self. Her lover, her partner, her most trusted friend. All was lost to Hannah, a flygon who had captured everyone's attention. Everyone's but Sola's. And strangely, children. They seemed too young to brainwash, but the older you got, the more susceptible you became. Yet Sola had been the exception. Perhaps because her husband had turned against her, or her family and friends. Maybe because all of her hopes of having a family were crumbled? And by her lover's hand.

"HEATHEN! She told me not to talk to you! That you would only lie and deceive! You forced those children upon me, I never wanted to have them with you. My heart goes with Hannah."

Not only had Sola's words not helped, they seemed to have worsened Soran's strange illness. His pure rage left him open to an attack from Otis. Who did not miss the opportunity. He had been waiting in the shadows, quietly and patiently sitting. Keeping everything still. The dense and unmoving air had finally proven their worth, they could not carry Otis' smell to his enemies noses. Otis took the bull by the horns, as it were. He darted forward, his feet kicking up dust as he picked up the speed. He decided to be a ninja for a few minutes, and pounced at the wall. He went headfirst, until he got close enough. Then he shifted his weight, just in time for his feet to meet the wall. His velocity had given him a good spring effect, as he crumpled into the wall, and then pushed off with all his might. He had a good angle, and wrapped himself into a ball. As he hit Soran's face, he grabbed hold of his eye goggle. With his teeth. Soran shrieked in agony. He had had Sola pinned to the wall by her throat, but Otis' surprise attack had made him loosen his grip. Sola broke free, and jumped a few feet back. Soran wrapped a hand all the way around Otis' small form, and ripped him away. Worsening his own injury by doing so, Soran gave another blood curdling growl. Otis' front paws and back paws were free to dangle, but he lifted a paw to his mouth, trying to get the juices and blood off, and trying to get the taste out of his mouth. His tail flicked impatiently, and he could feel his stomach getting sick from being so high up in the air, and from being gripped the way it was.

"Let him go, Soran. Your problem is with me."

"You AND all the lies you have spread! You brought these clowns into this mess, and look. Only one remains."

Sola's eyes widened in realization. Soran's words sank in with a dull thud, as Sola let her rump find the ground. Otis raised a brow in confusion, but quickly put his game face back on. Soran thought Mila was dead. That could work to his advantage...right? Somehow? He wasn't sure, but he decided not to speak up. Soran pulled Otis around, so he could look at him with his good eye. His other eye was gushing and currently blinded, Otis was unsure if it was permanent.

"Too bad. I liked the other one better."

Otis worked up a good wad of spit, and violently threw it out of his mouth. It landed right on Soran's good eye, and Soran spiked Otis into the ground. Sola rushed forward, but there was too much grief hindering her mind. Her actions were slow and hesitant, everything about her was shaky. Otis felt bad for keeping such a big secret from her, she was already going through so much. But maybe if all else failed, learning of Mila's pulsing veins, she'd be a little more at ease. Otis didn't have much time to worry about it though, as soon as his body gave him back control, he got to his feet. It took a while longer for his lungs to start breathing in air again. They had apparently been ready to give up, especially since this air was so thick. He had to move though, and quick. Soran had allowed himself a moment to try and figure out the status of his eye. It was a moment too long, though, as Otis raced at one of the brutes wings, while he was grounded. He jumped, and sunk his teeth into Soran again, this time aiming for the edges of his wings. Soran flung them back in surprise and in pain, flinging Otis along for the ride. His teeth held quick, and what hurt the most was the backlash. Soran lifted the wing in a way that he could inspect and, and nearly jumped in surprise at Otis' presence.

"GET OFF! Get off now!!"

Soran was gripping his eye with a hand, tears coming out of his good one. Otis had no intention of letting go, but quickly did as a set of gentle hands wrapped around him and gently tugged him away. His head twisted towards Sola in her grip, but hurriedly shifted back to his enemy, needing to keep his eyes on the brute.

"I know this is odd, Otis, seeing as how his mind has clearly left him...but I still love him, and I cannot allow you to shred him to bits."

Otis was dumbfounded, for sure. But also a tad proud for a moment, seeing as how Sola seemed to believe he could have ripped Soran apart. He would have liked too, after all that he had seen in this cave, but he realized Sola was thinking with a level head. Maybe she knew something he did not, or maybe she really felt like it was not Soran's fault. Blinded by love or being smart, Otis was unsure, but he would not go against his client, especially since Soran did not seem able to fight him, let alone Sola.

"I do not understand."

"That's somewhat of a relief, believe it or not. Now, to the depths of the cave we go."

Sola kept Otis tucked beneath an arm, and did double the speed the team had been able to go when they had first arrived. She knew these caves, and her motherly instincts had kicked in again, after protecting her lover and Otis at the same time. Otis couldn't help but feel a bit guilty, he had gone in for the kill, and had probably left Soran with permanent damage.

It ends...

With all the Pokemon backing off, Mila could make out most of the dens the mothers had backed into, their children hiding beneath their bellies for safety. There was one though, behind Hannah, where rocks shrouded it's entrance. Of course it would be behind Hannah, it would not be a mission if it were easy. Mila could feel the frustration welling up inside of her, especially when Hannah began to advance on her. It was then that Sola slowed to a stop, at the end of the tunnel, where darkness gave her and Otis some form of cover. No attention was drawn to them, because it was all on Hannah, and her quickening approach to Mila. Otis struggled, but Sola still had a good grip on him. However, when he looked up at her face, he could see her trembling. Trembling with anger and her eyes staring daggers at Hannah. Otis had never been in love, so was unsure how Sola was truly feeling deep down.

As Hannah was within a foot of Mila, who was beginning to shrink back despite her best poker face, Sola flew forward, one arm forward in a Superpokemon kind of way. Her first met Hannah’s face, and she released Otis. He fell hard, but landed on his feet. He dashed the few feet that stood between him and Mila, quickly closing the gap as she ran towards him as well. She threw her arms up and around Otis as his tongue met her cheek to give a few sloppy kisses. He was so glad she was safe! As she released her grip he spun on his heels, looking and taking in the surrounding dome and the actions of the Pokemon, ever shrinking back into their own little nooks in the walls. Otis looked back at Mila, who lifted a hand. He followed her hand and where it pointed, a den that was caved in. What stood between them and that den now, was Sola and Hannah; fists holding fists, each trying to shove the other while snarling through gritted teeth. They spat and made incoherent noises at each other, and all eyes were on them. Not on the two ‘runts’.

”Mila, let’s go.”

He nudged his head in the direction of the caved in den, and Mila nodded. They skirted the dome walls, slowly making their way over to the wreckage. It did not look natural; it almost looked like they had added more rocks. They were in good shape, not like they had been knocked down, and they were also slightly different hues. Strange.

”What are you doing to these Pokemon? What is wrong with them?”

”I am being a leader! With me at the head of this Dragon Den, all children shall grow and be protected, they shall be raised as fierce weapons to be feared by all! Dragons will reign supreme all through the land, just as we always should have!”

Their shouts were once again lost into wordless sounds of anger and hatred, each trying to rip at each other’s eyes. They threw punches and danced around each other, lashing out with claws and feet, even taking flight a few times in attempt to overpower the other.

Mila and Otis reached their destination, but it would not be as simple as it looked. Up at the top of the rock pile was a hole big enough for them to fit through. But just as they began their climb, a Dratini slithered out of the hole. Otis watched Mila scaling the rock wall with ease, and a scary smile spread on her lips. The Dratini was in for a bad fight, Mila was angry, and finally in a situation where it seemed like she might be at the advantage,

”Otis, go ahead, I will take care of this worm.

Otis flinched as Mila spat the last word out, her personality drifting into a place of pure evil. A place that could only be tapped in by those like Mila, it was by sheer luck she used it for good. Somehow she took that vile strength that was fueled by anger and hatred, and used it for good. She was one of the few who could use it, not abuse it, and not fall to the dark side. Otis thanked Arceus under his breath, and slowly began to scale the wall as best as he could. He had to put his front paws first, lean on them, check if the wall could support his weight, then propel himself forward with his back legs. It was a tough climb, he wasn’t as versatile as Mila was on this sort of ground, and he made a mental note to get some training from her later.
