Introduction: The Beginning The original RP involved pregnancy, however, the result of pregnancy is of course, usually a family of some sort or the other. XD This is the story of our small family of characters, their pets and friends, their adventures and thier lives.
Originally started in the thread called 'Pregnancy Inn' in this guild. We (Kyubii Kitsune and Meyaira Firespring) decided to start a new thread since it's a story between our characters who were staying there.
This role play is a one on one but if you want to RP with Saberlin and Fern and their family (In Character please!) then just drop us a PM and ask to join in. We'll either say yea or nay! ^_^

The characters: Name: Saberlin Harcourt Age: 28 Height: 6 ft (? not sure but he's 'tall') Description: Saberlin is part leopard due to being from a line of hybrid experiments. He was born with a leopard’s ears and tail as well as sharp, claw-like nails, which he keeps well manicured and hidden under gloves. Saberlin possesses two medium-sized fangs either side of his mouth and his hair is short/medium length. It falls in soft spikes and is flaxen gold. His eyes are light golden with feline (slotted) pupils. Other: He can seem distant and driven when he is busy at work, though he is actually gentle and kind once you get to know him. Saberlin has a playful side that sometimes makes an appearance when he’s not too busy focusing on important tasks. Extras: Handwriting: Neat and precise Gifts: He gave Fern a fern shaped necklace: delicate and gold with small bright green gems. Transformation: Is able to turn into leopard form by using a tiny, barely noticeable gold stud earring in his left ear that was developed in the lab. Foods liked: Fish, seafood, meat. Choco mint ice cream. Items gained/purchased: Antique double crib and rocking chair, old rotary phone, strange rock with moss perpetually growing on it. Name: Fern Age: 20 Height: 5'4 Pregnant with: 2 How far along: 5 months Appearance: Long silky chocolate hair, bright red-brown eyes and pale peach coloured complexion. (There was an image posted...) Cute, pretty, feminine. Description: Fern is a very kind and loving person. She has a strong motherly instinct and loves being around children. She can be a bit of a klutz but is very creative. Name: Samantha (Sammie) Harcourt Age: 4 Appearance: Hazel eyes with bleach blonde hair: http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff269/Junegirl1062/girls/Kit.jpg Description: She is very shy but once you get to know her she is very funny. She loves her black kitty (panther) ears. She wears pajamas all the time. Sammie is Saberlin's uncle's daughter's child. So...she's his second cousin. Name: Cheria Harcourt Age: 19 Height: 5'8 Pregnant with: Twin boys How far along: 8 months Description: Cheria is the half-sister of Saberlin, and she was born with the ears, tail, and nails of a lioness. Her mother was part-lion and her father part-leopard. Since her father is the same as Saberlin's, that makes her his half-sister Her skin is bronzed, and her long straight hair is tawny and soft. She has multiple jewelry on her neck, ankles, and wrists that feature the lioness. Her tail is bronzed, with the soft tawny tip. She likes being in the gardens when she's not working. She got pregnant by her ex boyfriend and needed a place to stay when her baby is born. She doesnt know that she is carrying twins until she gives birth.

The Setting: Saberlin inherited the family house he was raised in by his parents, who have lived in the place for generations, passing it down to each new heir. According to tradition, it was passed onto the eldest first born son or daughter but any other siblings were completely free to live there also, taking what areas of the home they wished. The reason it sounds like a large home is because it is in fact, a mansion. It was built onto bit by bit with each new heir adding their own rooms and areas, so it can be a bit eclectic. (Hence the small observatory on a higher part of the house, where Saberlin's father studied the stars and the 'garden of roses' installed by his mother) However, it is a thing of wealth and beauty all the same.The house has its share of locked and hidden rooms so it's interesting to explore, even if you get lost. XD The grounds are naturally also very spacious. The mansion is expansive and holds many secrets, including a giant laboratory in the lower parts of the building which comsumes two entire floors. (Shhh...no one knows, okay? ) This is used by the family organisation for creating new technology as well as cures and vaccinations to help creatures who are not human or only part human (although humans can use some of the stuff too). It's also a place where they can come and receive treatment when all other methods have failed and where people and creatures can come and stay. The lab is known only to those close to the main family members. Those who have been employed by the family for generations are the ones entrusted with the family's secrets (maids, fellow scientists and researchers, gardeners, ect) . The lab is of course, where Saberlin dives into both his work and his passion, along with employees whose families have also been working for the Harcourts for years and some people whom have managed to gain their trust. Unfortunately, being such a workaholic, Saberin's parents (and everyone else) was beginning to despair that he would ever find a partner to welcome into their world. No heirs would be troublesome indeed, as well as sad, ending a long legacy and a business which was used to help those in need. Fortunately, he happened to meet Fern...and soon, the next generation of the Harcourt family will be welcomed in! But will it spell disaster or greatness for this family? What adventures will they encounter? There may be moments that are touching, happy, sad, nail biting, exciting, ridiculous...one thing is certain, we are going to role play them here and see how everything plays out. *Extra notes: Money is plentiful enough, though the family is not the richest in the world or even the city. Some parts of the house have fallen into disrepair over the years. **They own a unique pet which Saberlin and Fern discovered in the markets.

Fern was sitting in a chair by the window in her and Saberlin's room, a book in her hands. She hummed a little, rubbing her stomach a bit. It wouldn't be long before the twins would be born. She set down her book, gazing out the window. "I hope I'll be a good mother.." she sighed a little.

Saberlin was sprawled in an elegant curve on the foot of their bed, eyes nearly closed, forming two crescent slits.
He was in leopard form, resting for a while after the long drive home from the inn.
The servants were taking care of the luggage for them, unpacking and cleaning clothes, putting items back where they belonged and the black company car was right now being cleaned and polished. The couple didn't have to worry about anything at all for the time being.
Saberlin sighed through his nose, s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g one long golden paw out and arching his back. His whiskers pointed forwards as he yawned widely, showing deadly powerful jaws. He was quietly enjoying the sound of Fern's humming, though he tried not to let her know he was listening in. "Mm...what book are you reading, my flower? Not that interesting?" he asked, noticing that she had set the book aside.

Fern smiled a little. "It's not that. I'm just being a worry wart." She got up, sitting next to him on the bed, showing him the book she'd been reading. It was a book about tropical rainforests. "I've always loved rainforests. They're so beautiful."

Due to the position he was lying in, his view of the book was sideways and half upside down.
Saberlin chuckled then rolled onto his belly and sat up some, opening his eyes fully so he could look at it properly. Something in him recognised the images and a small pang of longing whispered to him. "Ah, the rain forests. I've only ever been to them once. I can still remember it, though the details are sketchy. My parents took me to one as a child" he smiled. If you have ever seen a large cat smile, it is quite curious to behold.
Saberlin nudged her side gently with his nose; an affectionate guesture which showed his concern. "Perhaps I can take all of us to visit one after the twins are born. What is it that worries you, my dearest?"

Fern smiled. She felt one of the twins kick as Saberlin nudged her side, making her smile more. "That sounds wonderful. I've never been to a rainforest before." She sighed a little, leaning her head against Saberlin's side. "I guess I'm just a bit nervous about being a parent..." She ran her fingers through his fur, enjoying the soft silky feel.

Saberlin started up a rumbling purr, keeping the volume down but sending vibrations throughout the entire bed (and probably Fern's fingers and side) nonetheless. The stroking felt nice and soothing, even ticklish.
He was pleased to notice her smile returning and that made him purr a notch louder. "It's going to be alright. I must admit that I am nervous too. But everything will be fine. We have a nanny available should we need extra assistance. In fact, we have several of them."
Saberlin paused for a moment, wondering about how to tell her the next words. "You know...previously, all of the children in my family have been raised by those hired to look after them. When I inherited everything, I changed the rules somewhat. I wanted us to raise our children together. I.." He paused again, this time sounding a little embarrassed "I want to know what it feels like to be a parent. The nannies were some of my best friends growing up yet at times it could be awfully lonesome" he admitted.

Fern smiled as Saberlin began to purr. It was nice, calming sound, one of those sounds that remind you of home. She continued to pet him, smiling and snuggling against him.
"I can somewhat relate...to feeling lonely growing up that is. I was raised by my parents, but being an only child, I didn't have anyone to play with while I was growing up. It was very lonely..." She frowned some, then smiled. "But our babies will have us and each other. I don't want them to ever feel lonely." She put her hand on her stomach, smiling again.

Saberlin listened with interest, ears perked to catch every word. Although he had gotten to know Fern while they were courting and before they were married, there were still many things he did not know about her. Ocassionally, she would say something like this that caught him off guard.
"I see. Well, perhaps you will have more knowledge than me about what parents are supposed to do." he laughed softly, gently rubbing the side of his face against her in what could be called a loving 'smooch'.
"Mine did love me, that I know. They simply found it a little awkward to fit raising a child into their busy lives. When they suspected I might be lonely, they had other children brought in to play with me, whether the children wished to or not. Some of them resented that" he laughed a little louder this time, sounding rather amused. "You are right. We will see to it that ours never experience such things. It will be somewhat difficult with them sleeping in the same crib" He was referring to the double crib and roxking chair they had purchased on holiday.
They were in the twin's nursery, waiting to be fixed up. Saberlin was planning to work on them the next day.

Fern nodded. "Yes, I supposed it would be. I guess that's one of the benefits of being a twin." She giggled some. She sat up, stretching. "Mm... I'm kind of hungry. How about we both go get some lunch?" She put the book she'd been reading on the bedside table, hoping to find some time to finish it later.

There was a brief burst of tiny yellow sparkles behind Fern and the purring leopard was replaced by Saberlin's more human form.
He sat up and slipped off the side of the bed, following Fern to the doorway with his hair slightly tousled. "Sounds like a fine idea to me. I feel like I could eat a whole fish" he yawned, still a little tired from travelling. He led the way towards the kitchen on that floor.
