Part I~~Christmas Season

Christmas was abroad. The school hallways were decorated with emerald green plastic trees, ruby red Rudolphs, Santas dressed in our school colors, blue and gold, and occasionally, a Nativity Scene with that little baby Jesus sitting in that manger. Honestly, I thought that the little guy was cute, all wrapped up in blankets laying in that wooden manger, His mommy and daddy watching over Him and those Wise Men at His feet... Matt Scowsky didn't. I seriously think he doesn't know the true meaning of Christmas. For Pete's sake, it's called Christ-mas, not Santa-mas or I-get-a-present-mas. Oh, I guess I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Casey Richardson, senior at Blakesworthy High. Our principal, Mr. Smith, is an awesome guy, although not all of the students agree with me. There are those gothic dudes who think it's cool to have... well... blank with the girls of our class. I put the blank there for a reason. They also hate Mr. Smith, even though all he's done is protect those girls from that blank. Matt and I are best buds. He and I go way back to even before his girlfriend, Carly Haven, dumped him for Jeremy Jerksdale. I'm not kidding, Jerksdale is his name. He's one of those dudes who... well, if you haven't guessed what he does, I think you... Oh, I'll just drop it.

Back to the festivities, though. I love Christmas time. It's when my family finally puts aside their differences and actually sit in the same room and listen to each other, instead of arguing about whether or not my mom did right in marrying my dad. Oh, no, my parents love each other, seriously, but it's their parents that can't stand each other. They practically play tug-of-war with me. It's too bad I don't have a baby sister or brother that they could toy with, instead of me, but, oh well, I'm stuck with being the rope!

Matt and I were walking down the hall one day when we ran into Mr. Smith. Well, actually, we kind of snuck up on him while he was singing away at some carol.

"Hark! The harold angels sing,
Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth... uh... dadadaaaaa-"

That's all he got to, because Carly came running in, crying, with Jeremy on her tail. Matt scowled and I giggled a little. I gave him a friendly shove and we were on our way down the hall again. I could still hear Carly's accussing tone from where we were, walking towards the exit, because school was already over for the holidays.

"Mr. Smith! He hit me!"

"Oh, Carly, you know that you should talk to your parents about this! This is the fourth accusal this week! And Jeremy, I'll see you in my office. Now." Mr. Smith is a big man. I mean big like a dude who works out for, like, twelve hours every day! I sure wouldn't like to be in Jerksdale's shoes right then. Mr. Smith can be pretty intimidating with that deep voice of his and those broad shoulders, and even his moustache!
