Since marching season is over for lots of people, it's time for concert band! While some kids take 6 months off, others partake in concert band with a passion, myself being one of them. Who's switching instruments? I'm switching from trombone to baritone (if Mr. Brown will let me...) Anyone else?

I might go from concert flute to bass flute... if that counts. I ended up selling my trombone mouthpiece.

Sadly, I am not in band anymore and obviously will not be doing so. However, back in my freshman year of high school (4 years ago. haha.) I was in pit for marching band. Only because the flute section leader was a traitor and went to the trombones and I was a pretty shitty player then and would have been the only flute. So yeah. Pit for the first marching season, then I went back to flute permanently.

I kind of want to try my hand at oboe. I brought i up a few times last year, excited my bD, but then he never gave me an oboe. He said he would...I might try asking again this year, but he might not be as keen. This year we actually have an oboe player. She plays alto sax for mrching.
Brilliant idea! currently, i have no clue what i will have second period for the rest of the year. i had health, a required semester class. When I first got my scedule, they had given me 2nd period band instead of first. They did the same thing last year, except switched. Then they decided to change my schedule because my bd told them to, but I was never told they had. My BD was nice and looked up the schedule I had that was fixed, but he couldn't get the second half of the year. So I don't know what I have. i will probably see about switching whatever it is to second period band and therefore having two bands. If so, I can play oboe in secnd period and my precious clarinet in first(first being the better band) Problem is, it is a trip year and I don't know how I would pay for that and get the oboe reeds...

I play the alto sax in marching band and it's so much fun! I LOVE my section so much. I've been wanting to try a different instrument for awhile but whenever I try or say anything my two band directors get antsy cause I'm the best alto player (not to be cocky) in the freshman group. But for concert band this year, I'M TRYING BARI!!!!! It has the same fingerings as the alto so it'll be easy but I really wanna do that cool LOW LOW LOW sound! Hopefully my band director will be able to let me try it out. I definitely don't wanna play alto all my school band career. That'd be totally boring.

and let me say when you're working on concert and marching in the same day, going from horn to sousa is not the easiest thing. D:
