first to conclude the contest from last month... i never stated a due date (though it is usually implied to be till the end of the month at least) and so there will be an extension of the tektek and story contest till the 6th then there shall be a vote lasting till the 10th to determine the winner

now for this months contest. the month of November usually implys thanksgiving hanging out with family and passing out into a food coma for several hours. and so... with those thoughts and the knowledge that you all must have some secret recipe hidden somewhere i've decided to make this month a recipe contest! (quite adventurous on my part to be honest)

it'll be simple, write out a recipe that you've created (or one that you have used many times before.) if all you know how to make is peanut butter and jelly then write that down! you must have exact measurements however, no stating a handful in the recipe. (if you are doing peanut butter and jelly, tell me how much you put on your bread.) there is no fear of allergys, diabetes or anything else that would prevent someone from eating.

now here's the judging part. I will be making all the entry's that are submitted. now this means no putting expensive ingredients like black truffles or having a major recipe like something that is set on fire or requires a specialized tool or skill. (i do have a bit of a limit on what unusual items i can get)
I'll have kajaro, myself and my mother (you gotta have a mothers opinion) taste test them and judge them all. at the end of the month I'll post the scores (probably based off a scale of 1-10)

the best part is that the winner will get 30k and my extreme thanks to everyone for sharing their recipes.

due date for recipe submitting is the 23rd!

(this contest was thought up as a creative way to also expand my culinary experience and to try something new.... that and a lack of ideas for this month)

Mr snugglehead you forgot to put in the specific measurements. you didn't say how much garlic powder, onion powder or any other measurement for the ingredients. to make this into a fair contest i have to eliminate my user error as much as possible. i know everyone's taste's are different. (which is why i'm having my mom and kajaro taste test with me) but you have to say how many cups teaspoons and tablespoons ect that are needed.

oh and i've forgoten once again about the due date. the very latest you can submit a recipie is the 23rd this way i have a week to get the ingredeants that i need and make them all as well.

Hey, it deals with chicken (even thoug we use turkey for thanksgiving) but there are times where one would like to do something new (my family does) lol. But, yeah. ^^; Also in my family, if we don't have an item, we sub it for another or don't even use the item. Sometimes it's good with/out the one item. ^^; Good luck.

Chicken Sandwiches with Zang

Serv. size :: 4

Ingredients

4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
3 tablespoons Italian seasoning
3 tablespoons grill seasoning (such as Montreal Steak Seasoning)
1/2 cup barbeque sauce (such as Big Moe's®)
1 teaspoon butter
1 onion, thinly sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
4 mushrooms, sliced
4 hamburger buns, split and toasted
4 slices Swiss cheese

Directions
1. Preheat an outdoor or indoor grill for low heat, and lightly oil the grate.

2. Sprinkle the chicken breasts generously on all sides with the Italian and grill seasonings. Slowly cook on the preheated grill, turning every 10 minutes; brush the chicken with the barbeque sauce each time you turn it. Cook until the chicken is no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear. Once done, an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).

3. While the chicken is cooking, melt the butter in a skillet over medium-low heat. Cook the onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms in the butter, stirring frequently until the vegetables are tender.

4.To make the sandwiches, place a chicken breast on each hamburger bun half. Spoon the pepper and onion mixture overtop, and top with a slice of Swiss cheese. Cover with the hamburger bun tops.

ok snuggle i did a few alterations to your recipe. instead of 5 cups of flour... (which was WAY too much for doing three pieces) i used 1 cup. i used 1 1/2 TBS of the onion powder and garlic powder and used dried lemon peel in the flour instead of putting it on the chicken. (it would take off the breading otherwise...)

i was going to do more so i could have them for leftovers... but i'm being lazy sweatdrop

remember to try and keep portions to 3-5 people when your submitting your entry!

User ImageUser Imageok... the chicken is cooked up. for all the recipes i'll be putting up pictures of how they turned out like this with a top and side profile view. (makes it look snazzy too whee ) that way you can also tell me if i royaly messed up or not you can click on the pictures themselves to get the bigger view of them.

unfortunately i started the chicken too late for kajaro or my mom to taste it. but my mom will be over tomorrow and kajaro will have his for breakfast xd

its been quite awhile since i've done fried chicken. i don't do it like KFC, but they still taste good. i was lucky that we had just enough oil... (forgot to stock up last time i guess) they turned out pretty well in my opinion.

as for the taste, it was good. i'm always a fan of garlic and onion and the pepper was just spot on for me.

i'm not sure if it's because i used a small pan (the only way i could avoid not enough oil issue) or because of something else but 10 minutes was too long for cooking the chicken. they were ready to be flipped by 2-3 mins

overall i like this recipe snuggle. very simple and the cinnamon on top was quite interesting. 6/10

hope kajaro like it because i think we'll be having this quite often :3

Sweet and Tang 3nodding thanks for 6/10 Its my favorite recipe.. I usually cook on Medium so that it can cook longer and the outside can crisp more.. and i only cook on high when i want it done quick..

I've given the chicken a 6/10 as well.
Suzi (Chrissy's mom) has given it a 8/10, however, because Chrissy has changed the recipe so much her mother and I feel as she should do it again to your recipes measurements, and have it reduced in the correct amounts.

The reason i cook it with 5 cups is because i make alot of it >_> big family in all .. the recipe she changed it too would be right for 3 people.. i usually cook for 8-12

And I put the Lemon On the meat before i add the breading its like water and it makes the breading stick to it a bit more and making it softer on teeth/ Or in my fathers case no teeth at all lol.. Then i add the cinnamon afterwards for the sweet taste but like i said its for 8-12 people if u use the Full Recipe lol.. you had the right about for 3-5 people.. i just usually cook 8-12 so thats why it has so much for it..
