Your ideas on the Ending AND the 19 Years Later part. Personally, i wanted Harry to die. I know, i know, its awful but thats how i expected the book to end.

Hey, that was mean... Ahahaha...

In the ending, I thought that Harry was going to win. It was so sad that their fight was so short.

Anyways, in the "19 Years Later" part, I imagined like the rest of the cast to appear. And then, some strange things happen ending with the characters looking at each other. Somewhat of a cliffhanger! (Ahahahaha... Sorry, it was not an ending, I know, but that's what I really thought.)

I wanted both Harry and Voldie to die Mwahahaha. Lol.

The 19 years later part was really annoying. I mean it was as if she gave names to a crzed fan and had the fans make a fan-fiction and she chose the best one...

Harry needed to die. That's the way I wanted it to end, and I think it would have been much more satisfying, personally. The ending with the 19 years later epilogue? Just... No. I don't really like the pairings in the end. And I don't think Harry should have lived to SEE 19 years later. The epilogue was just not good.

But do you want to know what I thought was REALLY obnoxious about the seventh book? My mom was watching the news the day it came out, and when they started talking about it she muted it because she figured they would spoil the ending. And they did. But, just for people like my mom, who muted it because they wanted to find out on their own, they also had the ending of the book flashing across the bottom of the screen so the people who didn't want to hear it saw it. My mom was really annoyed. Fortunately, I managed to avoid hearing the ending before I read it. I'm not sure how I managed it, though, since it was apparently all over the news.

I don't know I mean the ending wasn't that bad but it felt like it was BOOM Voldie's dead. I thought there should have been more some how. I mean really we're talking about a war that has been building up for what is it 3 decades? Shouldn't the war that alters the life of the entire wizarding world and the muggle one too be a bit more I don't know eventful? Entertaining? Longer?

I didn't like the epilogue because it didn't explain ANYTHING. All you learned was who married who and what SOME of their kids were named. You can learn ALL of that plus more through the family tree thing that JK Rowling's got on her website.

Nice thoughts guys! The Epilogue wasn't clear in my eyes. I mean i saw 1 name and was like who? Victoire! That was her name. And then it said something about them being cousins, so i sat there and went through the Weasley family tree in my head and still couldn't figure that out. Also, who looked after Teddy until he turned 18?

Too much IMPORTANT information was left out and things that she thought were necessary weren't. But the book until the ending was amazing. And i agree that a rebounded spell wasn't good enough to kill Voldie. (But clever non-the-less)

Well it turns out that Victorire is Bill and Fluer's oldest daughter. Which if he was mainly raised by Harry and Ginny, they'd be cousins. And I think that Andromeda looked after Teddy until Harry's life had settled down.

Oh, book seven. I think I'll cry every time I read it;
not necessarily because of what happens, but because
it marked the end of a lifestyle I'd had all my life. ;-;

But. I'm glad to see I'm not the only person that would've
loved to see Harry die. Not out of sheer evil-osity, just
because, you know, it would have been wayy more realistic
than Expelliarmus = death, yay baby names.

Was sort of looking forward to see Jo put a spin on modern
fantasy novels and have the villain win. I think it would've
changed literature a lot; more authors would think it was
cool to have the bad guy win, mebbe. Dunno. Think it
would've been pretty cool (:

DH was the first book that ever made me cry.
First when the (good) Marauders and Lily came back ( goddd,
had to stop reading every time Sirius spoke! D: ), and then all
throughout Voldie screaming when Bella died to Voldie himself
dying. Odd mix of scenes to get weepy over, but darnit, I do
love me some Voldie/Bella.

The ending was okay...

and the 19 years later, they should have made better. xd I mean like they could have made it like where when Harry Potter is dropping off his kids then his scar starts to hurt again. I like the cliffhangers because it makes people use their imagination.

You know, that might have been a good idea. I mean, it was all just soooo cliche. Something unexpected should have happened...

I was disappointed with both the ending and epilogue. I do think Harry should have died along with Voldie; it would have made it more realistic for me in a way. Or, if Harry didn't die, Ron should have or something. I thought the whole rebounding spell thingy was kind of lame. Plus, he only fought him for like, what, two minutes. The whole build up was crazy, but then it let me down a bit.

I'm one of those people who believes that the epilogue doesn't exist and that after the final battle, the story ends there. The names of the children??! Why?? It was sooo cliche; it was horrible. I mean come on. Albus Severus Potter?? Really? Plus the whole Ron and Hermione thing kind of made me gag a bit. And..they put Draco with some random girl that we've never even heard of before. -sigh- I just expected more. The last chapters and the epilogue just seemed oddly rushed to me...

Wow. I sound really mean. Sorry. This is just my opinion though.

I was happy because it made sense.
Harry had enough trouble in his life, so I'm glad she ended the battle fast between the two. It followed the traditional novel plot-line.
The rebound thing was suitable because Harry was the technical owner of the wand Voldemort was using. I love how she can introduce major elements in the last book without it being overbearing or retarded.
As for the epilogue, I think she added it so fans wouldn't bug her about who ends up with who. As for the names, i think it shows how grateful Harry is for his mentors.

I thought that Harry would die together with Voldemort in a Harry-sacrifices-his-life-to-save-the-world kind of way.

Gah! Harry didn't die! Not fair! He should have died, then as he's dying Ginny kisses him, and he dies, everyone's sad. Ends like that, no other parts. Yeah...

It could have been worse. It could have all been a dream.

The epilogue didn't happen in my opinion and I didn't like the battle either. Harry's fight with Voldemort was over before I realised what was happening confused

I think my favourite ending would be if Harry turned into a dark lord and the books were continued in a series 2 8DDD
