I absolutely LOVE seeing people's creations when it comes to wands. There are so many wonderfully talented people out there that make wands. I'm no great thing (in fact, never even attempted anything like this) but I'm currently making my own wand. Have you guys made your own wands? Bought them? Had a friend make them? Was it passed down to you by someone? Plan on making one?
I'm sort of at a stand still. I'm about to sand down my wand. I was thinking of maybe painting it but I'm not all too sure. Would you leave your wand looking natural or paint it in a color that means something to you?

Mine is a branch from my neighbors tree carved down to the shape I wanted. I carved it myself with a knife (I can't remember what kind of knife; I just know that it was some kind of kitchen knife) and decorated it somewhat with a few, smaller carvings. Since I don't do very many rituals, it mostly stays hidden in my room.

I have no idea what kind of branch to use for my wand. Cause I also want to put a crystal tip on it.

I'm currently making my own wand too biggrin I found a strong stick in the woods, and carving on it. I do natural carvings all the time, so it's pretty easy for me. The crystal I'm using I'm going to keep there is Angel Aura Quartz. I was going to use Clear Quartz, but this one caught my attention. I'll post a pic when it's done =^.^=

my wand, to me, is evidence of past lives in one pagan group or another.
it's old oak wand polished down it started in my like a light tan, the tip was painted silver (and was faded with age). i needed to hide it from my parents (we were a god fearing family) so by fate, accident, or just neglect gained a brown earthy tone from it dirt 'nap' when i burred it.
i found it in the woods (i was eight/ten at the time), i was wandering around, getting lost, mentally, in a woods right next to us. and i just found it, it felt 'right' like a piece of me was finally returned to me. i never felt the 'power' in it only felt calmed by its presence. (about 16 here) after i discovered wicca and druidry in general (before i even called myself either) i felt this engery in it that i could tap into, and thus channeling my energy became ever easier.
i beleive in god, angels and demons but this wand has showed me that the pagans paths are real too. so i am left wondering about too many questions, far more than anyone should consider at one time.

I don't have a wand.. yet, but I do plan on making one sometime soon. I already have a clear quartz for the tip.
When I find a branch to make a wand out of, if I like its natural color I won't paint it, I'd just varnish it. If I don't, I'll paint it with a color I like. What you do with your wand depends on your tastes and what you feel comfortable with 3nodding

i don't want to sound base, but i don't understand how the wand works, or the chalice, but i really want to understand. i've thought about making a wand, but i'm not sure what it is used for. i have plenty of sticks that i could give a go with, but is there suppose to be a feeling of connection with the stick or branch before you use it. i no if i find one i am going to whittle it a little so there isn't much bark, because that stuff is really rough and not comfortable. i guess i would love to see what real wands look like instead of the typical wand you see on a renaissance based film or medieval video games... sweatdrop however, i know that i don't want to place a crystal into it, but maybe make a way to attach a crystal, if i feel it fit.

My wand is just a sanded stick, I don't have materials around to make it pretty or anything. But I wanted to make it myself so that I had my own energy in it.

I'm more of an atheme person, but I have a wand as well. It's just a plain stick. My friend's patron goddess is Nyx and her wand is a honey stick. xd

my wand is made out of a peice of sturdy old oak root. i found it in the cemetary. i sanded it down and sharpened the end and used a wood burner to burn in the god and goddess symbols and im now trying to fasten a clear piece of quarts crystal to the tip. its not working out very well >.<
