Ok, here is my question ..... I know that we all can use Cero in our attacks (Arrancar and above) but, Bleach Wiki says the following about the Gran Rey Cero:

"The Gran Rey Cero is a particular, very strong Cero. To perform this potent variation of the Cero, the Arrancar first draws blood from the Cero-generating appendage using his or her zanpakutō, then charges the Cero while mixing the blood with it. The result is a Cero with a much greater attack power and speed."

Then it says .....

"The Gran Rey Cero is a Cero that only Espada are allowed to use. It is performed by mixing an Arrancar's own blood with the Cero. The result is a Cero with a much greater attack power and speed as well as a change of color unique to the Espada."

Now, I have searched all the threads in our section of the guild and haven't found anything on it. Nothing saying we can use it or not if we are an Arrancar or if we have to be an Espada.

Then I found these:

Cero Oscuras (黒虚閃 (セロ・オスキュラス), sero osukyurasu; Spanish for "Dark Zero", Japanese for "Black Hollow Flash") or, more grammatically correct Cero Oscuro, is a black Cero used by Ulquiorra Cifer in his Resurrección form. He also compares it to Ichigo's black Getsuga Tenshō. It covers any exposed light into pitch darkness.[8] Though the only Espada shown to utilize this technique so far, Ulquiorra told Ichigo that, "This is an Espada's fully powered Black Cero." Ulquiorra also referred to it as "my Cero." The Cero Oscuras' range is vast, and its attack power is unknown, though it is powerful enough to shatter Ichigo Kurosaki's Hollow mask and critically injure him in the process. It's strong enough to destroy half of the dome over Las Noches. The superior Cero Oscuras is far greater than an average Cero. There is also the Instantaneous Cero Oscuras, which is fired at much-greater speed and with the proportional strength of the Cero Oscuras.

Cero Metralleta (無限装弾虚閃 (セロ・メトラジェッタ), sero metorajietta; Spanish for "Sub-Machine Gun Zero", Japanese for "Infinite Ammunition Hollow Flash") is a variation performed by Starrk while in his Resurrección. By using his right pistol, Starrk is able to fire a barrage of Cero at his opponent. This was first seen used against Shunsui Kyōraku.

Cero Doble (重奏虚閃 (セロ・ドーブル), sero doburu; Spanish for "Double Zero", Japanese for "Heavy Performance Hollow Flash") is a variation performed by Nelliel Tu Oderschvank, by swallowing her opponent's Cero and returning it back to the user along with her own Cero. This attack was seen used against Nnoitra Jiruga.[1].

While in her child form, Nel is only able to return the Cero fired by her opponent as seen used against Dordonii Alessandro Del Socacchio.

Cero Sincrético (融合虚閃 (セロ・シンクレティコ), sero shinkuretiko; Spanish for "Synchronized Zero", Japanese for "United Hollow Flash") is a variation performed by Dondochakka Bilstin and Pesche Guatiche. This attack was first seen being used against Szayel Aporro Granz.[3] In the anime version, Pesche and Dondochakka are shown gathering several separate Cero and fusing them into a swirling ball. Although it does not work on him, Szayel Aporro admits that it is a "marvelous technique"[4], and that if they had used it at the beginning of the battle (before he had time to analyze their reiatsu) he would have been defeated. However, it does seem to greatly drain Pesche and Dondochakka---both are panting and on the point of collapse after performing it.

So if someone in charge can explain to me what we can use and what we can't that would be great. My profile was approved with the Gran Rey Cero on it and I would like to use it if possible.

Thanks in advance ....

I'll just shed some basic light on everything first Kenji so you can understand it a bit better.

Now first of all yes it says Arrancar, that refers to the species that can perform it and Espada are all Arrancar too.

Now you can clearly say it says only Espada are ALLOWED to use it so yeah, this is why you wouldn't expect to see a fraccion using it. I'm done on that section

The other Ceros? The Cero Oscuras is an Espadas fully powered cero as it says, to our knowledge it is a stock cero and can be performed by all the Espada during resurrecion, nothing more is known so I'd keep away from using it if I was you.

Some people can perform other variations of the Cero, all the ones seen below Cero Oscuras can just be taken as special personal Ceros except perhaps Cero Sincreito, but then I don't know enough about that either.

That for now is just the basics and in TL;DR I'd say

You shouldn't be able to use Gran Rey but I don't know everything about it
Currently there is absolutely no way you could use Oscuras
Metralleta is Starrk's personal Cero, you couldn't use it however much you wanted to
Cero Doble is a personal move that may exist naturally in other Arrancar but which you don't have, you can't do it.
Cero Sincreito would probably need training to be used but I can see it being possible.

I'm going to hyperlink examples of each one being used.

Here's my take on the situation--

Since the guild is based around Bleach canon, Wikipedia's word is practically law. Although its wording is a bit ambiguous, I interpret it as follows: the word arrancar refers to a hollow (or rather, a conglomerate of hollows) that have evolved beyond all other levels and have been free by Aizen using the Hogyoku. All evolved hollows in Las Noches who have been transformed in this manner are arrancar.

Espada, on the other hand, are those ten ranked arrancar whose powers trascend those of all other arrancar. All Espada are arrancar, so in the context of this description, the author used the words Espada and arrancar interchangeably to get his point across.

All Espada are arrancar, but NOT all arrancar are Espada. In this respect, I would take the second paragraph as the authority on the matter.

Bleach WIki
"... an extremely potent higher-level Cero, allowed to be used only by the Espada."

As well as,

"It is a drastically potent Cero and Grimmjow claims that only Espada are allowed to use it."

As such, by canon and Bleach Wiki law, only Espada are able to produce a Gran Rey Cero. In terms of your profile, I can honestly say it was probably an over site. We (Temor or myself or whoever approved your profile) read over your profile mainly to get an idea of you character concept and Resurreccion. By the time we reach Powers, we're probably skimming and only briefly glance at the ones you listed for your character, taking them to be the standard arrancar moves. It is my opinion that, following canon, your character should not be able to perform the Gran Rey Cero until such time as he achieves Espada status. The same goes for all other specialized cero techinques listed above with the sole exception, perhaps, of the Cero Sincretico. But, in that case, you need a friend to help you out, so that makes the chance of performing this technique far less likely.

Going along with this idea, I think the only arrancar who should be allowed to perform any sort of specialized cero (either from Bleach canon or original) are the Espada.

Again, that's my take on it. I'm curious as to what Temor thinks, though.

First, Thanks Pad Chief. I totally understand now. xd

Second, Jes .... your word is as much law to me as Temor's so I will fix my profile as "Not Accomplished" next to the Gran Rey Cero.

Thanks to both of you. I know I'm a pain in the rump-roast with all my questions but I just want to make sure I am correct with my information and RPing.

Wait though seeing as you've just passed this law I'd like to ask something.

You'll see Hagane or Orisis has his own thinner version of the Cero and I have a Cero imbued with my powers along with my gigantic Cero.

Would you like me to change my Cero because this would now be rule breaking.
PostPosted: Tue Oct 13, 2009 3:24 pm

Blech... This is why dealing with rules sucks u_u'

I don't want to go all ex post facto on you guys, but judging by the stuff in wikipedia, it looks like only Espada are able to specialize their ceros (with some exceptions like Nel's friends. But in that case, the exception does *not* void the apparent precedent).

For the time being (and by that, I mean while I chat with Temor), don't use your special ceros. Don't discount them from your arsenal just yet, but don't consider them a viable attack until I get back to you.

The ruling on the Gran Rey Cero still stands, though. 'Tis a no-no until you're an Espada.

Well thanks for going out of your way to do this stuff about Ceros for us. I'll make sure to hold back my special Cero even if I only used it like, once.

Bah-- it's no trouble ^^ You guys are raising valid questions about this and we *do* need to straighten this stuff out.

Aaaaaaaand that's my Cero back in my arsenal.

That's kinda funny. So erm.. what was the ruling in Ceros in the end by the way?
PostPosted: Thu Oct 15, 2009 2:14 am

Espada may customize their cero, but they need to run it by Jes and myself first before training or using them in RP.

Just saw Yammy use Cero Oscuras, what's the ruling on that Cero?
PostPosted: Thu Oct 15, 2009 4:20 pm

Well, he's an espada, now, isn't he?

Like all other modified Ceros, it's something you'll probably have to train for (though this is currently undecided). Again, don't expect Temor and I to keep abreast with the latest Bleach chapters every minute. Tite Kubo will keep releasing more information about the arrancar and we'll do our best to compensate, but it'll take some time. As of now, the Cero Oscuras is NOT in your arsenal just yet.

Keep your knickers on.

My boxers

They allow more comfort than knickers and they come in lots of different colours.

Today I'm wearing a shocking black colour.

I was reading this and I noticed that some RPers have RPed using the Gran Rey Cero. But, in their posts, they conjure up the cero like a normal cero. Without sacrificng blood. :/

So... we're allowed to learn the ceros of previous Espada?
Just wondering, because if that's true, are there learning restrictions on them. Like only a select few may learn them? Because, if not, people might be running around swallowing ceros like Nel and spitting them out at higher power... >>

Again, more valid questions ><'

Ok, let's see... I explained a lot of the restrictions in the Rules of Las Noches thread. To gain modified ceros and the Gran Rey, you must complete a *quality* PRP of 15 posts (Temor and I are the judges of what is and is not quality).

You should all be following canon with a canon technique like the Gran Rey. So, yes, this does mean that you should be cutting yourselves. Otherwise it's not a Gran Ray and, in short, you're doing it wrong.

For the other ceros, like the Oscuras or Nel's cero... Well, in theory, anyone who has the patience to train for them would be able to have them. For each technique, you have to complete a 15 post PRP. So, if you want three techniques, you're, in essence, doing three separate PRPs (Math! That's 45 quality posts). And then you need Temor and I to approve you, so that should prevent people from running around with high-powered ceros. If anyone has gotten the impression that we'll be nice about our critique, please do think again. We will not hesitate to decline your training.

These stipulations, I hope, should quell the urges for people who just want to casually pick up these high-powered techniques. Plus, if you think about it, your character would need someone to fire ceros at their face repeatedly until they got Nel's cero right. In fact, I think it would be good to require a partner for learning Nel's cero. Each has to post 15 times. And then only one of the two partners actually learns the techniques. We want to make it hard (but not impossible) to learn these techniques. We also hope that you'll develop your own ceros instead of merely copying canon.

In THAT regard, I'm going to limit people to ONE signature cero each for right now. So choose wisely.
