I submitted a ticket saying that I needed my character moved out of Dalaran due to a login issue (campus internet haet dalaran) to a GM. I said in the ticket that I needed my character moved so I could save the world. >:3

Unfortunately, it wasn't me that got to chat, but my fiancee had gotten his account hacked, and I think he logged onto my account to GM chat, and the GM he talked to was apologizing and blah, blah. Brett (my fiancee) told him he was just really upset that this was the second time this happened, all because customer support didn't actually change his default email like he had asked them to the last time.
Anyhoo, when the GM asked "Is there anything else I can help you with?" Brett said "Yeah, how about some gold!? =D" ..and the cheeky effer replied with "Alright... just don't tell anybody about it, or I'll get in trouble." So we're thinking OMFG, no kidding?! He continues with "I'm going to stash some gold for you in a few random mobs, all you've got to do is go kill them and loot them.. just, like I said.. keep it on the down low, okay?"
gonk
We did laugh for a good 10 minutes though, and he even lol'd with us. It's nice to know theres a human on the other side sometimes. 3nodding

Aww, I want to meet awesome GMs like that. Mine always give me silly RP messages. Or I get generic cut and paste messages.

I once played and raided with a GM, he just wasn't the GM for our server. It was a mess sometimes, he literally got spammed by server members, 'cus they thought he would help them with every silly problem they would encounter... He did tell the ones who knew he was a GM, to shut their mouth and not tell anymore people. But it's like all other secrets; someone just HAS to let it slip...

It's rather sad that it's got to be like that-people complaining about every little thing and leaking every GMs identity to the entire world. It makes GMs seem less human by comparison, but they've got an awful lot of flack to deal with. C:

They weren't paid to be emotionless. They did, however, replace their inner selves with something cold, hard and cruel...and slightly less intelligent.

They're only cold and hard because it's not a game to them, it's a bloody job. And I don't know anyone who likes their job, let alone those who had jobs in some kind of technical support. Or support of any kind.

I imagine WoW GMing to be much like Gaia modding was for me. I had a text file filled with canned responses, fill in the blank situation managers, and I'd work in atleast 20 tabs on Firefox. Occasionally I'd add something to it or tack on an emoticon to make myself seem human or like I wasn't using a canned response. It also made me hate people in general.
But I really hated answering tickets, so I took an odd approach to it after I got sick of that and just had fun and ******** around in the GD all day and removed the pic spammers and trolls from the equation. That's all people reported anyways, and the reports were atleast 5 days backed up. People complained that the tickets weren't getting answered, but that's not really my problem - I did my job, didn't I? Not to be cocky but I don't think I've ever seen the GD in better shape than when I was a mod. Too bad I found WoW. rofl
