My boyfriend broke up with me Friday. 8(
And somehow, because he's such a great guy and because we've been friends for so long we don't know how to not be friends, we're still really close friends. I'm not mad at him either.
I'm just hurt, but not broken.

I dont really see or understand the problem then. If you two can be friends, then stay friends.

We are.
It just hurts a lot. And well, the more I can stop myself from internalizing it and keeping it in, the better off I'll be.
Selfish I know, but it's how I know I'll be able to heal.

Selfish I know, but it's how I know I'll be able to heal. I think it's better to let it out and get any pain off your mind, have a good cru if you need it and work from there

Yeah. I've talked with a lot of my friends about it, and it's helped a lot.
But I'm still randomly breaking down and crying because something reminded me of something, or it hits me again when I'm not keeping myself busy.

I'm sorry to hear that, but happy for your lasting friendship. Sometimes there is just not enough chemistry for a romance, but you have both learned a lot about one another, and a friend is still a wonderful thing. Don't worry, keep your chin up and someday you will run into someone who works just right with you. 3nodding

I just got out of a 8 year relationship 2 years ago. Its trippy going some where you went to before without that person thier. I just try to avoid sisutations like that as much as possible. Keeping yourself busy can only work for so long, trust me I know. Sometime you just gotta face it head on, to over come something.

Ouch man. I feel for you.
And I do plan on facing it head on. I'm hanging out with him Friday.
If I don't, I know I won't have the courage to do so and it would just start a downward spiral and start things crumbling.

With situations like this, you just have to give it time. Good luck.
