Beautiful Moon, with thy silvery light, Thou seemest most charming to my sight; As I gaze upon thee in the sky so high, A tear of joy does moisten mine eye.
Beautiful Moon, with thy silvery light, Thou cheerest the weary traveller in the night; For thou lightest up the wayside around To him when he is homeward bound. "The Moon," by William Topaz McGonagall_________

"Moonlight" A silvery-blue light glows within the bottle.
The proper English name for Earth's natural satellite is, simply, the Moon (capitalized). Moon is a Germanic word, related to the Latin mensis (month). It is ultimately a derivative of the Proto-Indo-European root me-, also represented in measure (time), with reminders of its importance in measuring time in words derived from it like Monday, month and menstrual. The related adjective is lunar, as well as an adjectival prefix seleno- and suffix -selene (from selēnē, σελήνη, the Ancient Greek word for the Moon). In English, the word moon exclusively meant "the Moon" until 1665, when it was extended to refer to the recently discovered natural satellites of other planets. Subsequently, these objects were given distinct names in order to avoid confusion. The Moon is occasionally referred to by its Latin name Luna, primarily in science fiction.
The Moon has an external magnetic field of the order of one to a hundred nanotesla—less than one hundredth that of the Earth, which is 30–60 microtesla. Other major differences are that the Moon does not currently have a dipolar magnetic field (as would be generated by a geodynamo in its core), and the magnetizations that are present are almost entirely crustal in origin. One hypothesis holds that the crustal magnetizations were acquired early in lunar history when a geodynamo was still operating. The small size of the lunar core, however, is a potential obstacle to this theory. Alternatively, it is possible that on an airless body such as the Moon, transient magnetic fields could be generated during large impact events. In support of this, it has been noted that the largest crustal magnetizations appear to be located near the antipodes of the giant impact basins. It has been proposed that such a phenomenon could result from the free expansion of an impact generated plasma cloud around the Moon in the presence of an ambient magnetic field.
Most of the tide effects seen on the Earth are caused by the Moon's gravitational pull, with the Sun making a somewhat smaller contribution. Tidal drag slows the Earth's rotation by about 0.002 seconds per day per century. As a result of the conservation of angular momentum, the slowing of Earth's rotation is accompanied by an increase of the mean Earth-Moon distance of about 3.8 m per century, or 3.8 cm per year. The Moon is exceptionally large relative to the Earth, being a quarter the diameter of the planet and 1/81 its mass. However, the Earth and Moon are still commonly considered a planet-satellite system, rather than a double-planet system, since the common centre of mass of the system (the barycentre) is located about 1,700 km beneath the surface of the Earth, or about a quarter of the Earth's radius. The surface of the Moon is less than one-tenth that of the Earth, and only about a quarter the size of the Earth's land area (or about as large as Russia, Canada, and the U.S. combined).
The Moon has been the subject of many works of art and literature and the inspiration for countless others. It is a motif in the visual arts, the performing arts, poetry, prose and music. A 5000-year-old rock carving at Knowth, Ireland may represent the Moon, which would be the earliest depiction discovered. In many prehistoric and ancient cultures, the Moon was thought to be a deity or other supernatural phenomenon, and astrological views of the Moon continue to be propagated today.

Name: Lelia Gender: Female Dust: Moonlight Color: N/A
Skin Tone: Artistic liberties, though I'd love for it to be unnatural. Eye Color: Bright azure. Hair Color: Artistic liberties. Hair Length: Long, please. Really long. Hair Style: Aside from length, style is open for artistic liberty. Build: Thin and feminine. Though it doesn't look like she works on her figure or frame, she has a good build to her with natural tone. Distinguishing Marks: Artistic liberties. Clothing: Elegant gowns, usually sleeveless, if not wrist cuffs or flowing sleeves that don't impede moevement. She prefers clothing that is light and easy to move in, rather than bulky dresses and shoes. Always barefoot, she does not find the need in shoes of any kind until she reaches her adult stage. Accessories:Small chain necklaces with iridescent gems and highlights, ranging from chokers to long chains. She wears the occasional ruffled wrist cuff or sometimes even a bracelet or two. Personality: An example of a true lady, Lelia is calm and happy, rarely angers. She is sweet and compassionate, especially to those dear to her. As a child, she is full of naive innocence, maturing more and more as she grows. To those closest to her, she can be a bit more playful and cunning, not to mention a bit devious, but to keep the appearance of elegance, she is more serious and regal to those she is not familiar with. Even though her kind nature would make you think otherwise, she can and will defend herself if provoked. She would do her best to protect herself and others if need be, but she would prefer to settle matters in a more calm fashion. She is also a bit jealous of others. When it comes to friends, she's afraid that someone might come between the two of them, leaving her alone. If she has a friend, to the point of almost possession, she thinks of them as "her" friend. Not afraid of hard labor, Lelia would love to grow her own crops or flowers, though she detests getting her gowns dirty (such a pain to get stains out of, am I right?) This is one reason she hates shoes, due to how quickly they get dirty. For the times where she feels the need to get dirty, she wears light, short sun-dresses, though she's slightly embarrassed for anyone to see her in them. Usually, while tending to a garden or the like, it is night and she is alone. A Full Moon is when she is at her brightest, both physically and emotionally. As the opposite of a Full Moon, the New Moon has the negative effect. On this night and the nights leading to it, she physically gets sickly and weak. Other: Daylight almost a chore for her, as she is rather nocturnal. She is rather chipper on those rare days where you can see the moon during the day. Some of her other abilities, the more dangerous or easily abused ones, cause her mental stress and frighten her. Along with the inability to control certain emotions, like her near lack of anger, other reactions are much stronger. This also makes her extremely paranoid at certain times, mostly when something involves her closest friends. Rindou, gravity; and Allegro, sunlight, are two Dusts that she would a silent respect for, due to her dependence on the both of them, due to her essence being "moonlight," while nearly being the embodiment of the Moon, itself. When these two are present, she will not speak unless spoken to, and she remains formal, no matter who is around or how well she becomes acquainted with the two. On a similar note; Sitara, stardust and Esrey, twilight, are Dusts she would feel a deep connection with. Werewolf's Mane, Konstantin, would be another Dust she would have a strangely close relationship with. Her powers greatly affect his, but she also enjoys his company. She would get insanely jealous of others if it involved Kon in any way. It is unknown what her affects on Dusts linked to her in other ways. Likes: Night, cool weather, fresh fruits and vegetables (especially around harvest time), friends and Henry. Dislikes: Day (not really so much dislike as it's hard for her), abuse (to herself or anyone in general), hot weather and shoes. Skills: A healer. The moon has been a symbol of healing for longer than many can remember. It has also been a source of empowerment. Once she is able to control her abilities, Lelia acts as a "priestess" of sorts; holding the abilities of healing and "buffing," to those familiar with MMORPGs. She can boost the effects of other Dusts, and if partnered up with the right mates, can be quite affective. Her ability to control certain forces of nature cause her to be very hesitant with her powers, especially the ones she is least familiar with. Using her powers takes a toll on her physical health. As a child, she is very weak and cannot use very much power and is prone to fainting spells during attempts. This becomes a bit more rare as she ages, though it doesn't fully go away until she reaches her adult stage.

NAME: Henry Knight GENDER: Male AGE: 24 RACE: Human OCCUPATION: Psychiatrist's assistant; volunteers at a children's hospital on the side RESIDENCE: Aimes LIKES: Children, animals, work, baseball DISLIKES: Cruelty, allergies, golf COLOR: seagreen
APPEARANCE: Naturally dark brown hair dyed black with green strips; semi-short and nicely cut, framing his shapely face, along with a neatly trimmed soul-patch. Green eyes. Tall and nicely built, but usually covering his body with semi-loose clothing; just barely hiding it. His work clothing, scrubs, always hide his body, except for the arms.
PERSONALITY: Fun loving and always eager to help. Children are a weak point of his, and he would do anything to make them as content as he can; the same with animals. Loves to be in the sun and play; sports or otherwise. Having only ever had one relationship (when he was eighteen, no less), he's not much of a lady's man and has no Earthly idea how to flirt or "pick up chicks." Very together, keeping a neat appearance and a clean house.
HISTORY: Henry grew up in a normal family setting; parents still together and two siblings. The family moved to Aimes after he had turned twelve, in search of a bigger house and a lovely area for his younger siblings to grow up in. His love for nursing and helping others sparked when he was young. After his brother got ill, he did whatever he possibly could to help him. Baseball became a favorite sport of his once they had moved, resulting in him spending a lot of time outside. Being with other people became easy for him and he enjoyed all types of social gatherings. Henry never had much luck with women. His first relationship was at the age of eighteen and only lasted a few months. Realizing that he himself wanted children one day, at the age of nineteen, he began volunteering at the local children's hospital. He began taking courses for nursing and psychology not long after graduating high school at eighteen. As soon as he graduated college at his current age, he got himself a job as a psychiatrist's assistant.
MISCELLANEOUS: Wants children one day, but because of his job, he's never had time for any real relationships. He also hates his family name. How he's allowed to have his crazy hair at work? Nobody knows.
-still in progress-

Snoof, having a Werewolf Dust, inspired my wanting a Moon-related Dust. I was shocked to find out that there hadn't been anyone attempting to quest something like this, so I jumped at the opportunity. Also, the Moon has different effects for different things, and seeing how others would react, or be affected by her, would be very fun and interesting.
The Moon has always been a favorite of mine. Being more of a night person, it's always been a want of mine to just sit and Moon-gaze. The Moon has always been a good inspiration for art and characters, despite the lack of imagination for some creators.
