I'm pretty sure that it's a common thing, core chunk of the raiders leaving for another guild, essentially killing off the 25man team. My former guild had been struggling for months to fill slots consistently for 25man raiding, but more often than not we had to pull friends of ours who were undergeared yet pulled more dps than our standard folks.

But, my boyfriend (a guild officer) became fed up with it and considering the lack of raiding that wasn't quite to his satisfaction on the server, decided to hop server and had me pull my main with him.

We both had to leave behind a good chunk of gold and crafting materials (I feel broke). We also left behind many good friends of nearly four years. It was just a sudden reaction from him. The new guild is cool and all, but there is no one like those I left behind. (Like how I had to turn my subwoofer off when one guy spoke because his voice was so deep.)

I don't know, has this happened to you guys? Leaving server for a higher level raiding guild?

I have switched many guilds... I have been in two of the main raiding guilds on Trollbane but I found the most happiness in a casual raiding group where we are first and foremost just friendly

I cant be bothered with the politics of big raiding guilds..Its a game. I like to keep it fun

I never left because of pve reasons. But I left a server because of the level of pvp competition. It wasn't high enough, so I bailed. My main friends were on my teams, and they left to the server I switched too, so I didn't leave anybody behind.

Yep, Emerald Dream to Stormreaver, my hubbs x-ferred both of his mains to join his roommates raiding guild, which happened to be #4 on the realm. I had to make a new toon, I wouldn't move my main. =P

Why did you not take your gold and materials with you?? I play with my boyfriend as well and some irl friends. I actually rerolled from alliance when BC came out to play horde with them (this was before he became my bf xD). Their guild had been together basically since launch and we were all on a US server. Being late nighters and our raid times at 3am est, we were unable to get the player base and clear any content worth doing. The only option we had was to ask the handful of late night raiders we had if they wanted to server swap along with us. So here we are on an Oceanic realm and have been here for a good 2yrs now. Made quite the difference for us and we're actually able to clear content. When we made the switch I cleaned out and sold all the random junk etc and brought money/things I needed with me. Later on I ended up xfering over another char which allowed me to bring the rest of my junk over

I feel the same way like you, being a part of the biggest raiding guild on my server. It was still casual raiding though, no one were forced to do anything, we signed up for raids out of our own free will, and everything went well. Until the original guildmaster decided to take back her guild, demote people for reasons no one could understand, and literally trying to force people to raid...

I left the server, but not in the case of having my chara transferred or anything. Simply went to my Hordie on another server, and started lvl'ing. The result was, of course, a kick from the raid guild, which I couldn't care any less about. I miss some of my friends, but not the atmosphere on the old server in general, and especially not the guild. My boyfriend was one of their main raid healers, and although everything went so good for him, he decided to stop raiding, and had a Hordie from a third server, transferred to the one I play on now <3

From that day on, I kept my playing casual, not doing anything people would expect or force me to do. We even made our own little guild, where only friends from the old server are allowed... we're 4 members *lol*
But I enjoy it so bad, WoW really is fun again heart

Yea I love that the game feels more enjoyable when you ditch the politics. I have been in (on Trollbane) prolly close to 15 guilds since I started my account and I always have more fun in the ones where raiding is encouraged but not enforced.

I have met some of my favourite people on these guilds. one girl I have been in like 5 guilds with and we are great friends.

almost never an option when a guild dissolves unless you are bad

Man.. I've seen guilds on Sargeras break up for the most retarded reasons... I know that my husbands's first guild, Tyr Invictus was ruined by a group of people that joined from a different server. They alienated people, someone became officers and then one day, they all left...taking ALL of the guild bank contents with them. THey are now known as Trayah...'Be-trayahs' to those that know the true story behind the fall of TI. If you're ever on Sargeras and you see 'em, don't group with any of them 'cause they will try to screw you over.

In my own current guild, we has a mass merge with another guild (they were friends of the guild leader and they weren't raiding and wanted to continue raiding) and that went downhill...FAST. They attempted to get officer positions, which they were denied, refused to follow instructions and purposely wiped us in raids, and attempted to break up the guild. We got rid of them as soon as we could. But one of those particular people took two of our best raiders with her to a different server...because she was dating them both... One recently was accepted back...I don't know why but he was.

I don't understand why there are those the feel the need to 'cause drama.. IN A ******** VIDEO GAME.

Sorry, about the semi-long post...just needed that out >.<

i saw someone cause drama for no reason other than to cause drama in a casual LVLING guild. we weren't even planning to start raiding yet. and for some reason the person who started it stayed in the guild and the one he was targeting was forced to leave.....and he actually made the guild do things together and use the guild chat. i'm still in the guild but thats only because most of the other players are friendly and just want to have fun playing the game.

Why?

My guild had its issues through TBC and during the times we'd broken I dont think anyone transfered servers. Everyone just joined different existing guilds on the current server.

The guild I left had the worst rep on the server. We were mostly (besides me, and the people on the teams, because if they were, I would have booted them) stuck up jerks for a lot of it. We had a terrible rep. People respected us, but it was like, hate at the same time. I didn't want to deal with that, so I took my paycheck and got a server xfer along with like 15 of my friends. Apparently the guild went boom after that, because people just started leaving.
