Three+ times, all by different people (they were all trumpets though, which is what I play).
The first time was when I wasn't paying enough attention to stay in the form, therefore, another trumpet player who was in the line behind me and going the oppisite direction ends up bumping his trumpet into my head by accident. The only reason I knew who it was was because he apologized to me soon after.
The second time was when I accidentally backed up too far into one of the juniors and his trumpet wasn't far up enough. Kinda similar to the third time, when one of my childhood friends (who's also a junior) wasn't taking big enough steps and when I ended up in my spot on time, he didn't and realized he was behind when I ended up getting hit in the back of the head by his trumpet. Kinda my fault, but we both laughed about it since it didn't hurt my head too much.
Now you answer: How many times have you been hit while practicing/performing your field show?

Hmm..... 4, I think. 4 different people, that is. Trevor, one of our baritones, can't seem to comprehend that my spot is not his spot, and that he doesn't have to get me out of MY spot. JP, another baritone, I think I actually ran into him. We kind of bumped shoulders during a move, didn't hurt either of us. Toni or Katie, in guard accidentally hit me on the slide but it didn't damage me, the horn or them gladly. Then my girlfriend Morgan, a mello, accidentally hit me. It hurt her more than it hurt me. And she apologized profusely and I was like "Awwww. How cute."

: B I don't think I've ever been hit into yet, but I have constantly accidentally hit the same sax player in the shoulder at this one move everytime we do it .__.;; I kinda feel bad....
Oh wait, one time a trombone bumped me in the head on a conveyor belt move... .__.;;;;

I'm always getting hit with my flag.... In our show I'm standing by a trupmet (right infront of him) and when he takes 6 steps fowards I go backwards with him. Good thing is, he's tall so I haven't gotten hit yet smile

Luckily I haven't been hit, but while doing a parade, I did smash the bottem of my flute into someones sideview mirror sweatdrop
It hurt, I didn't even check to see if I broke it.
People should really stop parking in the streets ;D

WAY too many times... by a trombone... two of them really. Who's idea was it to put a trombone 3 steps behind a sax anyway? XP Haha, i know someone who managed to poke a hole in their lip with a pencil while learning drill... that was rather amazing =D

I don't get hit too often (tubas aren't hard to spot) Both times I've been hit (run into actually) it was by drummers who hadn't realized I had stopped.
I hit other people all the time, though. Usually in the head. Tall people aren't allowed to march on my left anymore, they get banged constantly.
I also managed to hit the back of a trombone rather spectacularly while doing horn swings.
I've also dropped my tuba on some one (he was a few rows below me in the stands and I tried to set my tuba down. Lost my grip...and...yeah..)

I've stabbed myself countless times in the face with my sax mouthpiece. And I also ran into a sousaphone after marching practice in the auditorium doing circle drill and coming out of the auditorium i didnt know they stopped and i ran into them and bust my lip.

Well, I haven't really been hit during a rehearsal/performance, but last Friday, when we were on the side of the field warming up for halftime, a football hit me on the head. I am now thankful that we have hats.

exdraghunt I don't get hit too often (tubas aren't hard to spot) Nt when you are going backwards trying to dodge a fast moving baritone player who is also backwards marching and all are trying to get into a huge arc. I've ran into the tuba player that ends up next to me many times, and I often get sandwiched between them because the baritone thinks he is right and I am wrong. Honestly, if you are overshooting and running into the person behind you, you need to slow down a bit. seriously. If he would take a bit smaller steps, he would end up in line, I would end up in line witout getting killed, and we will all be happy. But no, he has to use larger step sizes then needed and make me basically leap for 8 counts and then take miniature steps for 8 counts and try and get in line for the last 4 counts>.> And at our festival on Saturday, we were doing soem marching rehearsal, and there is one point where me and a bair sax are marching side by side( weird curvy line thing with full band. We are supposed to end up the tip and end in line from him being 2 steps off me) And a guard girl goesin front of him and stops behind me. Well, this whole time se is twirling her flag. We have to move, or get hit. Well, at the rehersal for the festival, we had our striahg tblack plumes on, and as he is marching from behind the guard girl, her flag hits his plume and knocks it off. The people from the host band(college band. Went to our school last year and all clarinets) were laughing their heads off, and I'm just thinking "Dd I do something wrong?" And then we are asked to take it to another st to work on, and I looked at him and see his plume is off, and he is kind of looking at it on the ground like "wh dd that happen, and what the heck?" It was funny.

I sometimes accidentally hit people with my clarinet if I'm making my horn flashes a bit too enthusiastic...
I did crash right into a baritone during a half-time show because he forgot to move when he was supposed to (not that I blame him, I think he learned that show in like a day), but fortunately didn't knock him over. xD
