Spenelli's Gold Guide.... Daily Gold Makers ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Daily Chance The first thing I do after logging in is getting every daily chance. I don't read my PM's first, look at my announcements, nothing. I get all my daily chances. It's important for two reasons. 1. If you don't get them right away you may forget and not get them. 2. If you log in near 12:00, you can get your daily chance twice before logging off. If you put it off, you may still get one daily chance from each page, but you missed out on collecting them all for the day before. Daily chance my seem pointless to some. "Arrg, a starter shirt? That's only worth one gold!" But.. it's one more gold than you had, isn't it? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Daily Bonus  "First voting bonus! 15 gold!"The first time you do certain things each day on Gaia you get a bonus. These things are voting, posting in the forums, commenting on others profiles and writing in your Gaia journal. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Voting The first vote you submit each day will fetch you 15 gold. I suggest finding a random poll everyday and putting in a vote. If you vote everyday, just once, you'll get 105 gold a week just for your one vote a day. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Posting Your first post in the forums will get you 75 gold. After that I think it's random, and I've heard that the length of your post is irrelevant. I'll look into that soon. It's good to find a guild or a forum that you relate with well, a place where you fit in so that you know you can always find something to talk about. If you haven't really found anywhere like that, or find yourself not too interested in conversation, find a bump thread in the CB and bump away! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Making New Topics Making topics will fetch you some gold as well. You will get gold for initially posting a new topic. You also get gold for posting, so if you made your own topic, this is a great way to get some posting in. You posted the topic, so you obviously have some things to say about it! I try and reply to everyone who posts in my own topics. But try not to double post. If nobody has posted anything since your last post, don't just keep rambling on! People will think you are crazy! If you want to talk to yourself.. go ahead, by all means do it.. but keep in in the CB where everyone is crazy! Haha.. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Commenting Profiles Your first comment of the day is worth 40 gold. So if no one has commented you for you to comment back, drop in on a friend and say hi! They will probably be happy to see you and will be glad you thought of them, plus you'll get your 40 gold and perhaps a nice little conversation! Here's how much gold I got for commenting... 1st: 40 2nd: 37 3rd: 28 4th: 34 It seems the gold is random after the initial 40. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Writing in your Journal Writing in your journal for the first time in the day will get you 60 gold. I've started a strange and (at first) incidental "once a year" entry rule that I for some unknown refuse to break.. but everyone else not as crazy as me can take advantage of this 60 gold a day bonus! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vote and/or Comment in Arenas There are four arenas. Voting and commenting on the works in the arenas gets you gold. There is also the option of entering one of the arenas. Do you have what it takes?? Here are each of the arenas, complete with a link and a list of their categories. Art Arena = Painting & Drawing, Photography, and Comics Writing Arena = Poetry & Lyrics, Fiction, and Non-Fiction Avatar Arena = Original or Cosplay Homes Arena Find an arena you'd like to participate in! Even if you don't want to submit anything, it's fun to see what other Gains have come up with.. and fun to get gold for putting in your own two pence! There are a few simple things you can do that require no money and not much time that Gaia will pay you gold for. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Alerts Have a cell phone with text messaging? Have an e-mail address? Sign up for Gaia alerts to get gold. You don't have to sign up for both services either. You can sign up for only one, or both! I personally have signed up for both. Each service gives you 50 gold a month for staying signed up, but you get a bigger sign-up bonus with your cell. About:You can pick which alerts you want and which you don't. Whether you pick them all or only one, you will still get your 50 gold every month. Gaia Alerts Available:Announcements, Friend Requests, Journal Comments, Arenas Entry Comments, Private Messages and Profile Comments. Cell Alerts Gold:Get 1,000 Gold for signing up and 50 gold for each month you stay signed up. You can also get up to 50 gold a day receiving text messages from other Gaians. About:When one of these things happen, a short text will be sent to your phone notifying you of the alert. There is a checkbox in your settings that you can check to not receive these alerts while you are logged in. Text Messaging Details:You can receive text messages from Gaians. In your settings, you can select to receive them from nobody, friends only or everyone. You know how when you send a PM and it says "Also send as text message if available"? Well, if this user has registered a phone it will also send the message to their phone. (If they selected friends only, they must be a friend) Also, you know where you can drop down the list in your inbox where it says "new"? If you drop down that list, you can choose to only send a text rather than a PM and a text. Why Texting is Good/Not so Good:It's good because this way you can let your internet buddies text you without telling them your number. But it sucks because you can't reply using your phone. Skittles? House Bunny? Heroes? Ah.. now you're just pulling my leg. Gaia may be a website.. but it's also a company. And like any other company, they need money to run their business. Spenelli's Gold Guide.... Gaia Events About:Gaia has events quite often. They like to spice things up, give us some fun for the holidays. Gaia has had events for Halloween, Christmas, Easter, The Olympics, Prom, Back to school.. many different real life holidays and events. These events can be very fun, some addictive.. but they all have one thing in common. You can get gold and items. When Gaia has these types of events, you're sure to know it. Try and participate in these events when they come around.. and show some spirit!! Some events involve a game.. like Demonbusters. In these games Gaia let's you choose a side.. and you compete against other Gaians. The games are comparable to Mobsters or that Bot game.. Botz?.. err.. off subject.. A lot of times you can participate in these events along with side quests.. for example Caroling or Trick-or-Treating. In order to carol or trick or treat, all you have to do is visit the shops in Gaia! That was easy... Events:Just a few..      Gold/Items:The amount of gold or the types of items you get can vary. Gaia Events were made to have fun.. not really a way to get rich quick.. but having fun and making gold at the same time is great! In Gaia's events you can get special items you'll never get anywhere else. These items can be worth a lot of gold because when Gaians picked a side, they can't get the items by playing that are available to the other teams. These items can be worth even more if you can just hold onto them for a while.. which believe me, is easier said than done. Here's what I got:Just a few things.. Games
Games can be a great way to get gold. Some games give you gold and items, while others just get you items that can be sold. Some items from games can be traded for other items that may be worth more.. it can all get a little confusing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jigsaw About:A game where you solve jigsaw puzzles! There are four levels. Easy is 30 pieces, Normal is 70, Hard is 120, Insane is 300. If you're solving puzzles just for gold.. here's my tip. Play the same puzzles over and over. You will get used to them and you can solve them faster. Also, I always make the outside of the puzzle first. Find all the outside pieces and set them up where they would go. Top pieces at the top, pieces flat on the right to the right, you get my drift. Once the outside is built it's a lot easier. When looking for my outside pieces, I also sort them into color. This saves time since I'm already sorting. Make a pile of pieces that are mostly red, ect. Any pieces that are part of text I always throw in the middle and solve them first. Gold/Items: You get gold for finishing the puzzle. Sometimes you will get an item too. Other times a piece of the puzzle will actually show a bonus item that you will get as long as you solve the puzzle. The gold you earn has to do with the level you play on. Here's what I got:Easy: 46 gold Normal: 130 gold Hard: 160 Insane: 792 + Black Skeleton Mask
Help from Kira: "I only do insane puzzles. I do more than 20 a day. Gold ranges anywhere between 500-800g But I also learned that you can't repeat the same levels twice in a row.. you get less gold. You also get less gold the faster you do them. The way I am able to finish them all quickly is because like you said. I do the same puzzles over and over till I know how to finish them in less than 10 mins without barely glancing at it. And then I move on the puzzles I've never done before until I am able to do the same thing. I also learned to if you start by putting together the pieces that have less of a certain color and work your way to a big amount of color.. that it will be easier. The eye is immediately drawn to colors not shapes." The name pretty well explains it.. you play slot machines with tokens! Tokens can be bought in the game.. or cheaper in the marketplace. You can use one, two, or three tokens at a time to double or triple your winnings. Gold/Items:In Slots you use tokens to play. Tokens can be cashed in for tickets which can again be cashed in for prizes at Prize and Joy. You can also sell tokens or tickets in the Marketplace. Here's what I got:100 tokens = 62 tickets Do it:Slots~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cards About:Cards is the game 21. I really don't wanna explain it.. haha.. long explanation short, try to have your cards equal as close to 21 without going over.. oh.. wait.. that's it! Gold/Items:In Cards you use tokens to play. Tokens can be cashed in for tickets which can again be cashed in for prizes at Prize and Joy. You can also sell tokens or tickets in the Marketplace. Here's what I got:100 tokens = 116 Tickets Do it:Cards~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Word Bump About:Try and spell words as fast as you can! The goal is to send the gold letters at the bottom to the top before time runs out. Gold/Items: In Word Bump you can get items, gold and credits. The credits are bachelors, masters and doctorates. You can trade these in to Edmund at H&R Wesley.. for.. something.. Here's what I got:Game 1: 138 gold, 31 Bachelors Credits Game 2: 376 gold, 31 Bachelors, 31 Masters, Green Checker Shoes Do it:Word Bump~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Fishing About:Fishing.. is fishing! You need a fishing pole and some bait to play. Gold/Items: You don't get gold for fishing. You get fish, boots, or old tires. These can be traded for other items or sold to Logan in The Ole Fishing Hole. They can also be sold in the Marketplace. Here's what I got:Bucket 1: 15 guppies, 1 boot, 2 bass Bucket 2: 12 guppies, 2 cans, 3 tires, 1 boot I used Grade A in the 1st bucket, Grade F in the second. Do it:Fishing~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Pinball About:A fun pinball game you can play without quarters! Gold/Items:In this game you win gold and power-ups. Power-ups can be sold in the Marketplace. Here's what I got:Game 1: 0.. ziltch.. nothing.. >_< Game 2: nothing.. again Game 3: 46 gold It seems pinball could be a great way to make gold.. just maybe not a great way for me to make gold.. lol. Do it:Pinball~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Electric Love Factori About:In this game you have to line up same colored circuits to connect two or more volts.. it's a lot harder than it sounds. I don't really get the game all that much.. so I'm not gonna explain too much about it. Gold/Items:In this game you win gold and power-ups. Power-ups can be sold in the Marketplace. About:zOMG is Gaia's MMO. It's a game where you play as your avatar alone or with friends (or strangers!) to defeat animated (monsters). zOMG is a pretty big game, with lots to do. Gold/Items:zOMG is full of loot. There are lots of ways to make gold on zOMG. Daily Freebies:There are certain characters in the game that give you another daily chance. YES ANOTHER! These characters are marked on the map with dice. Loot:Many times after you defeat an animated it will drop items and/or gold. The loot these animated drop can make recipes. Recipes are also dropped by animated. Recipes:When you have all the items needed to make a recipe, you can go to Back Alley Bargains and make the item. You can then sell it or use it. Sometimes selling the recipe and buying the complete item is actually cheaper than making it. Make sure to check the MP prices. And remember, recipes can be sold in your inventory for 50 gold! Bosses:
Bosses are a good way to get orbs that upgrade your rings.. but also a great way to get loot. The harder the level, the more loot you get. Chests:Chests are often surrounded by animated. There are chests in boss levels, but you can also find chests in the world. You'll have to defeat the surrounding animated, but you are sure to get something good from a chest! Luck Tip:When you are mostly looking for loot, it's good to have some luck. I have a few tips. First, if you are in a crew, your chance of loot goes up. There are also rings that can get you luck. If you equip the angel set, you will have added luck. Luck increases the chance of loot. The angel set consists of Hunters Bow, Solar Rays, Wish and Healing Halo. Spenelli's Gold Guide.... Aquarium About:The Aquarium is a really fun thing on Gaia. You don't even need an Aquarium to get the benefits of of it. There are three ways to make gold/items through Aquarium. The OverseerIf you have fish in your Aquarium, you have another Daily Chance available! Visit your Aquarium everyday and click your overseer to receive a gift! Booty GrabBooty Grab can make you gold/items in two ways. One way is by playing Booty Grab. The other way is by having others play on your tank! Booty Grab: PlayBooty Grab is a game that you have to seek. You can't just click on Games and play Booty Grab. But if you set out to find a game of Booty Grab, you are sure to find it! There are many Booty Grab threads. Some Booty Grab threads even have contests.. a double-money maker! When you have the option to play, the tank will look like this:  Simply click the play button. The game is pretty easy. Your avatar will appear with a clam on it's head. You need to collect all the falling gold you can. Avoid red power-downs and grab all the blue power-ups you can! Before the game starts it will explain how to play. Booty Grab: Sit backYou can make gold from Booty Grab by doing virtually nothing. I say virtually for a reason. Just having a tank isn't enough.. you have to get out there and post your tank! Post a lot in the Aquarium forum, and get your tank out there! Remember.. if your tank isn't in your signature, no one can play Booty Grab on it! Some fish have better chances of triggering Booty Grab, some fish release coins worth more than just 1 gold. So to maximize the amount of money you can make, buy high trigger fish and fish that drop special coins! Spenelli's Gold Guide.... Marketplace About:The Marketplace is where Gaians sell their items to other Gaians. The Marketplace is a big way to make gold. Have stuff you don't want? Sell it in the MP! Need gold but only have cash? Sell cash shop items for gold! The marketplace isn't just a way to make gold.. it's also a way to keep it. Want an item that's in the store? Check the marketplace first! You may find it cheaper! Ways to make Gold:Simply Sell-Have items you aren't using and don't see yourself using? Sell them in the MP!
Cash to pure- Real Money for intangible objects!??! So, Gaia is a hobby of yours. You probably have other hobbies, right? Like.. going to the theater. How much does it cost you to see a movie? Gas.. popcorn.. soda.. the movie ticket.. it adds up. Some people don't believe in spending real money on Gaia. Well, many do. I see Gaia as one of my hobbies. And I believe that buying Gaia cash is just like spending money on any other hobby- spend your extra cash on stuff you love! Well, I love Gaia. Gaia cash is not only useful to buy exclusive cash items. It's also a way to make gold. Some things can't be bought with cash.. actually.. MANY things can't be bought with cash. So how do you get gold out of cash? Buy items with cash and sell them in the MP. Simple as that.. but it can get tricky if you want to maximize your Gaia (and real) cash. If you went and looked at every cash item to see which were the biggest money makers, it could make you crazy. I've tried this. Your best way to see what items will bring you the most gold is to look at featured items. Look them up in the MP and see which ones are bringing in the most! Also, don't forget to take how much cash they cost into consideration. The items that cost 999 bring in a lot of gold- but you may be better off buying one collectible at 250 and an EI at 749. Same cost to you, 999 either way. You have to investigate a bit before throwing down your cash. *Tips and Tricks*There are many tips and tricks out there. Here I'll share a few of mine with you. Look in the forums for more- there's all kinds of help out there! Selling at the lowest Price:I'm an impatient seller. This isn't exactly the best way to make gold. When I sell an item, I always sell it as cheap.. sometimes cheaper than the lowest price for the item. This is a good way to get it sold quick.. but not the best way to get the most of your item. Selling your item for more than everyone else isn't a good idea either. With items that stretch many pages, your item may not even be seen if you sell it too high. And who's going to pay more for something when they don't have to? Keep this in mind: If the items that are the cheapest get sold.. what happens? Yours becomes the cheapest! It's really best to stay cheap- just a bit above the cheapest price.. and keep an eye on how the price goes. Re-Lowering your prices:This is something I'm very guilty of. I'll price an item cheap as I can, then someone goes cheaper. In my impatient-ness, I'll take it off the marketplace and sell it even cheaper. What happens next? Someone sells it cheaper. Then I re-lower. Then someone else sells it cheaper. The price is dropping. DROPPING. Now this item has dropped significantly. I think that I may be soley to blame for several item crashes. I apologize. The best way to deal with people selling something cheaper than you? Deal with it. Like I said before, your item will likely become the cheapest again. The best way to deal with this is to watch the item over several hours or days. If the price seems only to stick in one place or lower, you may want to go ahead and lower the price. Accepting Bids:Sometimes you will receive PM's asking you to sell your item for less or to trade it for part gold/ part item/s. Sometimes the trade is reasonable. Sometimes.. not so much. Giving someone a break now and then can feel good.. and at times the person will be very grateful. I have taken trades and lost gold before, and I found it quite worth it. But don't let anyone take advantage of you. If you know their deal is a total rip, say no, and stick to it. They may have a better offer.. or maybe not. Just be careful when accepting trades.. and always check the MP value of items they offer for bartering.
Selling for less than 1/2 the Store Price-This is something I have never understood. I'm not sure if these sellers are oblivious.. or if they want their transaction count to go up so much they don't care if they lose gold. If something costs 100 gold in the store.. and you sell it for 46 gold.. you just lost 4 gold. This adds up. Anything sold in stores can be sold back for 1/2 the price. How? Simply go to your inventory, select the item, and hit "sell item". You will get 1/2 the store value! This, of course, doesn't work on (most) items not sold in stores. Buying for less than 1/2 the Store Price-Yes.. so.. as I've said many times in this guide.. every gold piece counts. See an item selling less than 1/2 the store price? Buy it and re-sell it back in your inventory! I do this all the time. What's my big secret of this? zOMG recipes. Not many have read the zOMG updates.. all recipes can be re-sold through your inventory for 50 gold. It's true. So, when I see any recipes selling for less than 50 gold, I buy them up and sell them in my inventory! Now that you know this, I may have lost this trick.. you guys know I love you now!
