I'm sure that most of you are probably aware, but for those of you that aren't, here ya go! The newest class that has been confirmed for Maple Story is none other than the ancient Aran Class. I have here their history, pros and cons. (thanks to strategy wiki)

The Arans were heroes of the past who fought for the Maple World but the Black Magician froze them with a curse. After hundreds of years, the heroes from the past awakened from a voice of a soft and ice cold looking girl. They were cursed and imprisoned in the ice for a very long time, leading to a loss of their memories and abilities.

The heroes are aware that the Black Magician will come back to the Maple World very soon and they are determined to defeat the Black Magician for once and for all.

If you create an Aran, the new character will have a default tan skin. Arans starts in an area called Rien, an icy snow covered area with very low temperatures located in a warm place due to the curse. More than half of the island is covered with snow and ice. Arans are a warrior-type class who use polearms as their main weapon. Like Cygnus Knight, in the selecting character screen there will be a bamboo image identifying the character as an Aran.

To make the Arans even more unique, they have a game mechanic that no other class gets to use: the combo system. Players are able to increase their combo counter by continuously hitting monsters. As their combo counter increases, so does their damage. Some of the Arans' skills require the player to build up their combo counter before they can use them.

Pros
-Due to having an HP draining buff in second job, fewer HP potions are needed.
-Can knockback enemies easier due to a third job buff which reduces the amount of damage required to knockback.
-A 4th job party skill called Combo Barrier (reduces damage taken by a certain percentage) only requires 200 Combo Counts.
Cons
-Due to how much of a part combos take up, enemies with stunning or seducing attacks are difficult.
Examples: Papulatus, Zakum.
-To keep their combo counters up high they must train on slightly higher leveled monsters.
-Repetitive. They really only have two main attacking skills that don't require some combo counter amount to use.
-Very low HP, much lower than a normal warrior.

Personally, I think that the KoC are horrible. Sure they might be fun, but in the long run they can only be as good as a level 135 Adventurer class. I think the combo system is what is going to make the Aran class epic.

Well, just saying they can own more than just a 135 adventurer here.
My 120 Koc has normal gear, If not crappy(No zhelm, except when selling one, +1 INT Agent hat, +6 Agent overall, +6 INT, 7 M. ATK PUAC, a Dep, and a +1 INT, 1 M. atk WG) and a godly Maple Shine Wand, yet he hits a little more than my 147 Bishop who is low luk, and has normal equips(Besides clean +17 INT zhelm.) Both, non mw nor echo. If My KoC had an Ele Wand 1, He'd own my bishop.

ANYWAYS, Aran class seem alright, but I much rather play alongside them, then with them... Warrior classes are boring to play with to me(Mages FTW to me though.)

Yeah, I agree, I was just using level 135 as the default example. I was just trying to put the point across that eventually all Adventurers have the potential to always be better than a maxed level KoC.

I've only had a warrior once, and I did find it to be a bit bland, but I'm hoping that the combo feature along with some other skills with spice up and speed up the Aran gameplay. Thats just my opinion though.

Well, I was just saying, really just cause I love my blaze wizard XD. I like how though, even though they made them 120, they can own at zruns and stuff. Being 120 is okay, but not really good enough to be an attacker, yet at 110, my blaze could solo bf, and I plan to solo pap when I feel like it. I just can't beileve we can't get our 120 mount yet >_>.

I agree with your opinion, the dawn Warrior is cool, with the flashy mob skills he seems alright, not as good as Mage or Sin, but still good haha.

I do hafta admit, the KoC mounts are the coolest things ever! Haha. Especially the first and last version. (The first looks like a chocobo from the final fantasy series ^^)

But anyway, we will have to wait and see how the Aran class goes against the rest. This was just a topic to introduce the class to people that were unaware! xP

Not just responding to you in particular, but more in general to every class. I'm just gonna give my opinion on this. It bothers me when people say that "Oh, this class is sooo much better than all the rest, its not fair! Its soo cheap." Every class has its pros and cons, and thats why they are tested. Each have their strengths and drawbacks which limit them. And I don't think that the Aran class is exempt from that, nor the KoC for that matter.

Updates always come out in Korea first, but if Korea has it, you can always be certain we'll have it in a few months.

Also, I'm looking forward to the class because it seems like it'll be less monotonous than just spamming the Ctrl button.

Yeah, though about 70% of the players that actually make one will quit around the level 50-70 range, the other 30% will probably continue. Its just the new class cycle! ;P

Take right now for example. Every map / pq / training spot is full of KoC. Over half of them will disappear over time.
