THIS IS NOT THE EVENT I WAS HINTING AT
It's an awesome fundraiser for it, but still awesome.
Well, there is one way we always know works for funds and great fun. That is to dress up like Gaia NPCs and sell ourselves.
It may or may not be as kinky as that just sounded.
Pole dancing is usually involved.
Ok well these things are a ton of work, which I usually end up doing.
I will ask people to suggest a date, I would like to do it labor day, but I don't know if we can get this done in time. Perhaps next weekend.
for those of you who have done one of these before, you KNOW it takes up most the night. (that sounded wrong too)
So, basically what this is, for people who didn't see one of the others before, is a fundraiser and a party.
Have you ever seen date auctions? It's like that, only not with a date necessarily, but just a mandatory hang out time.
What we do is sign up, cosplay an npc and assign a time on the given date where we will auction you off to the bidders.
Whoever wins you gets to spend 2 hours of your time with you, doing what they request.
They can't ask you to go on a date or anything without your permission. You mutually agree to something.
Usually the people who buy you go "I dunno...lol what do you wanna do?" anyways lmfao....
And usually the people who buy you aren't strangers, so don't worry.
What you want, is to be silly, charismatic, or do whatever you're comfy with doing in order to drive up your bid. You can offer art, services, or even strip your avi for bid ladders.
That's the simple version lol... I'll give you more details later, and I will have to train some people....
this is all done in a thread,
the differences between the old ones and this one are:
1) I'm probably not going to be the only auctioneer
2) We're going to have some training going into it.
3) I'm going to try to organize it better to decrease the workload
SO TO THE POINT
Yes you had a wall of text.
I need people to sign up for this. You don't have to sell yourself, you can do another job. AND you can do more than one job if you're just awesome.
I will put up the minimum amount of help I need, if no one signs up for each space this won't work.
Some jobs will be crew only, but I'll specify which.
If a job is in blue, it means I can use more than one, and you can easily juggle the job with another one.
if it's in red, it means you might want to think twice about taking another job if you're doing that one, or that you will probably have to alternate shifts with someone else.
JOBS:
1) Banner maker/headers for NPCs in auction: there has to be at least one, but there's limit.
2) Advertizer: someone who runs around threads advertizing or link exchanging in order to encourage awareness about it and our guild. I could use as many of these as possible.
3) Crew member job only: Guild mule thread editor (edits new bid info in the thread title and front/ organizes the thread) Probably good to have 1-2 of these.
4)Auctioneer: I will be one, but I need another. No more than 2 others for this. If there is more than one, it might be a more blue type job, but for only one other it's red.
5) Runner: Weird title, but basically someone who runs between the guild, pms, threads and whatever to keep everyone in contact and to make sure the next NPC person being auctioned off is going to be there. It's your job to fetch people or keep a direct line of communication with me or with all the people working at the time in our thread. Basically business to know where everyone is, sound weird now but you'll get why later.
I need one of these, two at most if they want to split shifts.
6) NPCS:
You get auctioned off!!
Your job is basically to be polite, talkative and fun. Plus you HAVE to do your two hours with your winner. If you don't I will get ticked, you'll have time to scheduale something with your winner after your auction.
you also have to dress up, that's a requirement.
I need at least 5 of these, no more than 8. I am going to be one, so that limits it to 7 other spots.
Don't be intimidated!! The workload isn't that much as long as one person isn't doing all of that. Even the red jobs aren't hard, they just require no multitasking with other things while you're doing them.
