 Fall 2009 Gym Leader TournamentWelcome to the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Gaming Guild's Fall 2009 Gym Leader Tournament! Just like the ones hosted in the past, we are hoping to make this yet another memorable one and with three gym slots opened, we hope to crown ourselves some new gym leaders of this guild's very own Wi-Fi league. If you'd like to try out for a gym leader spot, be sure you read all the rules and just post your friend code on this thread and state which Elemental type you will be trying out for.  RULES 
6 v 6, Lv 50/100 Battle (Single)
You must only use Pokemon of a similar elemental type.
Due to special circumstances, new entrants into the league must only choose one of the following unclaimed types to tryout for: Water, Fighting, Ground, Fire, Electric, Psychic, Rock, Ice, Bug, Dragon*, Ghost and Steel.
Only one non-uber legendary Pokemon may be used per team, per battle.
Update 09/04/09 * Due to the special circumstances that both Garchomp and Latias have been recently banned by our version of the Uber Clause, Dragon-type users are going to be allowed to use Pokemon from the Dragon egg group as well those actually of the Dragon-type. Those included on this addition are: Charizard, Arbok, Gyarados, Sceptile, Seviper and Milotic.
General Rules
If you used a cheating device like AR, CB, or GS to hack in fake Pokémon, max stats, etc. then please do not scam us and enter this tournament. This is only open to honest trainers with official teams. If you can't find shinnies and your friends hack them for you and trade them to you, don't enter. If you don't feel confident about your team, just don't enter. Play fair. Trust in your own abilities.
Please do not disconnect from the match and make up a bogus excuse to cover it up. Make sure you have a strong WiFi signal. If not, just don't enter.
Voice chat must be turned off.
Clauses in Effect
Species Clause: All of your Pokémon must be different.
Sleep Clause: You can only put 1 of your opponent's Pokémon to sleep at a single time.
Self-KO Clause: Your Pokémon cannot use moves like Explosion or Self-Destruct to win if it's the only Pokémon remaining on your team. The same applies for Perish Song and Destiny Bond.
Uber Clause: The following pokemon are deemed to be unbalancingly powerful and are not allowed to be used:
Update 08/25/09 Despite Smogon's decision to remove Latias from the Uber tier and place it into the OU tier, here at D/P Gaming, Latias will still be considered illegal to use and will be included as being banned by our version of the Uber Clause until further notice.
Evasion Clause: Moves like Double Team and Minimize are banned from being used.
Luck "Hax" Item Clause: When this clause is in effect, that means the following items are banned from use: Brightpowder, Quick Claw, Focus Band and King's Rock.
OHKO Clause: Moves like Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill and Sheer Cold are banned from use.
 FAQ 
They we're given permission to join the tournament to further gain some battle experience, test out their teams and to challenge the new gym leader candidates at no cost of losing their own status as gym leaders. Their participation in this tournament is strictly voluntarily.Can those competing in the tournament be dropped from the tournament due to inactivity? Yes. In fact, if a contestant misses a collective of three (3) previous match battles, they will be automatically dropped from the tournament. Hence why it is not mandatory that they finish the matches within the time frame of each round, but it is of course important that they get these matches done as soon as possible. These missed matches will be shown as yellow boxes in the overall tournament standings.

Of course friend. It wouldn't be any fun if any of our apprentices couldn't move up in the world.
Just remember that you can only use the types aside from Poison, Flying, Normal, Dark, and Grass.

Well friend, since you would be representing Nitrox's gym, you may want to ask him to see if you can battle in his stead. After all, Last tournament, we had Burner represent Kyrenx's type. Though, remember, using a type that is prohibited from this tournament, you will not be able to obtain a position as a gym leader under that type.
