i saw this show on MTV like two days ago. it was about three people..one liked how they looked and was a plus sized model..another one was a teenage boy that was fat..and the other was a really sexy woman who was overweight to the max..but in a hot way. It was really sad because the boy and lady were going to get a gastro bypass thingie. that can kill you! i wouldn't ever do that. would you?

id only do that if the doctors paid for it, reccommended it and said that it would make my life last longer =/

It's a real shame many people feel that way about themselves. But it's their body, they can abuse it in any way they see fit as far as I'm concerned. They're still not going to change themselves.

The_Irkin_Army id only do that if the doctors paid for it, reccommended it and said that it would make my life last longer =/
otherwise i love how i am right now You would go skinny to live longer? sweatdrop

But since the procedure is dangerous and has so many complications, there's no way I would do it...I'm not big enough to get it done anyway, you have to be a certain weight before you can get the surgery done.

if you are a certain ammount overweight, i think its 100 pounds or whatever over weight, and if your doctor says its for medical reasons, you can get gastric bypass surgery for free....Which just ups the ammount of people wanting to get it done. think, if someone is 80 pounds overweight, and wants an easy way out, they will most likely think "oh, i'll gain 20 pounds or so and get a free surgery!"

Not only can it kill you, but after you have the surgery, your diet needs to change incredibly. One woman who my mom works with had it done, and she can't eat actual sugar anymore... she has to use substitutes, if anything at all. So if you think about it, getting the surgery was really pointless, since she's going to lose weight from her diet change anyway.

No way would I'd go under the knife just for what I consider life treatening cosmetic surgery. Would be easier to just a bit of dieting & walk for 30minutes a day(that's my recommended plan by my doctor but I never really stick to it. blaugh )

Especially not on TV.
That would be HORRIBLY embarrassing.

If I had the money to have gastric bypass surgery I would do it in a heartbeat... I am not THAT fat... like life threatening fat... but I am not comfortable being fat... I would just do it... redface

My dad got that done. he was 420 or so at that point and they told him either he keeps on how he is and dies in less than a year...or he gets it done. its been two years since he has had it done and he is down to 215 right now and isnt going to be looseing anymore weight than that. he is ten kinds of better ( health wise) and it seriously is an amazeing surgury. and yes, you can die from it...but you can also die without it.
