I need to find an affordable acer cord online, but I can't search much online seeing as I'm not using my computer at the moment. model is acer aspire 5100-5023 Please help.

What exactly is wrong with the cord? Is it possible to repair it?
sad
((I'll check with Nicky. He can sometimes get parts from work when they're throwing out old laptops and things. But they usually use IBMs so I don't know....))

I don't know, it just no longer charges anymore and the battery died from not being charged. I believe some of the inside wires got damaged from pulling on it or something.
I also don't know for sure it's the cord or the power system in the laptop, but I'd guess the cord because the damage is visible(I can see broken wires) and it's 3 years old... and I know I've had probs with it before....
I believe this is the model..... http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001MQ31DY/ref=asc_df_B001MQ31DY858821?smid=A2L8RZ9Q2TVOXI&tag=shopzilla_rev_1350-20&linkCode=asn
but it looks slightly different than my cord so I dunno. I once used a spare cord from my roommate (who is in another city for like a month) I forget where it came from, but it was another brand of laptop and still worked on mine... I know for sure dell doesn't work lol.
Do you think he might have one of those extra? I believe acer is owned by another company... I don't know if it is IBM though. eek if not I can probably buy it once I figure out how to make an amazon account... thankfully my dad is gone for today... so I can use his freaky desktop... the keyboard looks possessed....

Wow. Ok... Well, that one at Amazon is less expensive than these at PCHub. The ones there seem to cost around the mid-high 20's.

They use IBM and Dell I think.
But the tech guys will probably know if it's compatible with other machines. <3

Well, the description of that one on PCHub does say, "Please take note, 3 wire AC power cord not included."
Oh dear. I can see in the replies window I waited too long.

Not yet. I just googled and found PCHub, but I can look again. Just googled "Acer aspire 5100 parts".

Ok...more google...Found 2 power cords without AC adapters here. There's a bunch of stuff here, but I don't know just what to look for. @_@ There are a few things here, but it's expensive. xp And I'm leaving out ebay stuff because one can't always trust ebay...good for some things, not so good for others, perhaps. [Edit: And I have no idea what shipping is for any of those.]
