Gumshoe + Ranged is an absolute GODSEND when up against Lawnsharks. Just remember to bring more than one if a second Lawnshark decides to appear. x_x
Oh, and get in their face a few times for maximum points. 0_0

Okay then, here be my half-arsed mini-event guide biggrin
Barton Town: Solar Rays, And Dervish/Fire Rain are good. Speed Buffing is a HUGE plus. If you don't lag that badly, trail the Airshark and clean up Sky Boxes - otherwise, camp out in a screen, carefully anticipating Airshark's bombs.
Village Greens: Ranged rings, and Gumshoe. Have a crew bring at least 2 Gumshoes to handle another Lawnshark if it pops up. Attack at Melee range for increased points. Watch your HP!
Bill's Ranch: SPEED BUFFS. They help IMMENSELY. Also, I find the screen east of the Barn is good for Grucken catching. So far, accurate clicks yield better results than mad-dash clicking...
Zen Gardens: A Coyote Spirit helps in looking for Clutch Spies, and Solar rays helps to nab the annoying Purses. Otherwise, bring a good offensive set.
Bass'ken Lake: Speed will help when tracking down BuzzKill after it warps. x_x Bring offense rings, both melee and ranged. Avoid hitting Mother fluffs!
Old Aqueduct: TURTLE, TURTLE, TURTLE. Get that on the moment you see the Deathroach notices and you'll live. Then use an AoE when the Hive spawns come out, kill, and see if you can't nab any additional spawns nearby to increase points. Lather, Rinse, Repeat until 100 aliens are killed.
Gold Beach: Again, Coyote Spirit helps for tracking down P3s. If you see a bunch of Sand Fluffs clumped around, there is a definite good chance a P3 is there. Make sure you can survive if you accidentally hit a Sand Fluff!
Otami Ruins: If it's aggro based, bring your Tanking Ringset and head to the Ground Pyre, and KEEL twisted Otherwise, if it's to actually douse a Pyre, I hear the Ledge Pyre is a good bet. Either way, Divinity is love.
