I've seen the guide for how to make an rp. I don't really have a set plot... It's like a combination of Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Pantheon High. The profiles are going to look something like this, I think: [b]Gaianame:[/b] (Insert username here)
[b]Are you using an elaborate post format:[/b] (Yes or no)
(If yes post here)
[b]Posting color:[/b][color=insertcolorhere](color you will be posting in)[/color]
[b]Name:[/b] (Name of your character last name not required)
[b]Age:[/b] (Character's age)
[b]Divine Parantage:[/b] (just the name of the god or goddess)
[b]Pantheon of Divine Parent:[/b] (Norse, Japanese, Greek, Egyptian, etc.) God/Goddess of (What your character's divine parent is the god or goddess of [this is optional])
[b]Mortal Parent:[/b] (optional can also have more than one, like as step-parent or adoptive parent(s))
[b]Personality:[/b] (What is your character like?)
[b]Bio:[/b] (how did your character find out he or she was a demigod? have they ever met their divine parent?)
[b]Other:[/b] (weapons including those given by immortal parent, pets, etc.) For anyone who comes to this thread: Please fill out the skeleton and send it to me via pm. Tell me what parts were most difficult to write or parts you had to research to skeem accurately knowledgeable about your character's coming to being, post it in this thread. I think it would give me a good idea of how to proceed with making the rp. New things per suggestion:

Just start writing ideas of setting and where in the story you want to start the RP. Time of year, what year, technologies, thoughts towards gods and demi-gods, that sort of thing. When you have all you can think of go back, edit it, and see what you have left. What is left should be a good starting point for a plot or setting post.

What exactly do you mean by thoughts towards gods and demi-gods?

Well, are the multiple gods/demi-gods system the main or only religion worshiped? What kind of recognition do they have? Are they as they are currently, thought of as blasphemous and only for fun stories and history classes?

Multiple, definitely. I haven't really decided but in the Percy Jackson series most mortals are oblivious to mythical happenings.

Oblivious is different from denying the existence of them. Just think about the prevailing religions your world will have dominating those types of thoughts. If someone in our world was a religious Catholic, they would react a lot differently to learning that they are a demigod. They would likely deny the possibility to stick to their beliefs. On the other hand, if the possibility of multiple gods was more open than it is now, a character that finds out will be less afraid of being persecuted and think of the powers more as cool than a gift from a devil.

Well wouldn't the parent who's made a demi-god child believe in the god or goddess from which the child was born, and the pantheon of said deity as well?

Exactly, that is something that would be determined by your plot/setting. I think in some stories the god took the form of a human to explore the world and mate. It is also worth considering how a child with no father would be received in the world. Would it be viewed as a gift from the gods, like it is now without much scorn, or as if the mother was a slut?

There are such things as single moms... The parent raising the child would choose not to talk about the divine parent and that is perfectly acceptable in society today.

Well, a difference to what gods do and their presence might have altered society. This is most of what I'm saying. I suppose it will be a lot simpler to write up and be RPed if it is just a twist on today's world.

That's sort of what Percy Jackon and The Olympians is about... The gods and goddesses of the Olympian pantheon living in modern day US. Mount Olympus is in New York and Hades is in California. The location changes with the move of Western Civilization.

I thought Hades ruled an underworld full of spirits in what is a fiery pit similar to the core of Earth? That would leave it to open a door from anywhere. For the mountain, I'd think a volcano but that might be too close to Hades' domain. So maybe an unnamed mountain in a mountain range that isn't too closely explored?

Hades is another name for the Underworld in which Hades, Greek god of Death rules. The main entrance to the Styx is under a recording studio.
