Screw the tuba, tuba is for those who cant move their fingers fast enough to be a bassist.

Cloudstrife299- Tubas are awesome even tho our band only has 1 player bassists are people who arent cool enough to play guitar i suppose, following that logic, that guitarist are people who aren't good/cool enough to play violin?

i'm starting tuba sometime soon, in concert band. i can't wait, because I've played it before, and I loved it so much that i want to keep on going. (I played pedal E within 30 seconds of playing tuba my first time, and I became addicted.) (and as for the bass and guitar stuff, the rule i go by is: Those who can't play guitar play bass, and those who can't teach teach gym.)

I'm one of those rare female tuba players, and I love it so much. Tuba has got to be the BEST instrument in the band with the best people in the section. Most of my section are my best friends in the world.

Yeah, a little love for the tuba.
It's my only instrument, been playing it for 8 years. And yes, Tuba solos are the most awesome thing out there. ("Hey Baby" anyone?)

I have played the tuba since 5th grade and in my experiance I would concider tuba players to be the elite lol. I say this not only out of opinion but with the fact that anyone can play the tuba. But only someone who stays dedicated to it can become really good at it. Otherwise it'll only sound like farting sounds or really fraked up sounds. I also bing up the point that, like the rest of the bass instruments but especially for tubas, they have the power to drown out the rest of the band if they really wanted to. Hence, the tuba players have to be the best at interprating the music and knowing the dynamics of the music. I know from experiance how easy it is to drown out the trumpet's melody in a slow quiet song.

So in part three of our show the tubas have a little solo and it's so cool cuz we all run to the front of the field and one of our DMs drags his contra tuba over and plays with us biggrin
We've gotten lots of love from the crowd at all our competitions biggrin
