Here you go =P
Two main brands of cola flavoured drink dominate the market today. These are Pepsi and Coka-Cola
And oft, internet debates are based on which ones is preferable. Now, Cleo has clearly stated that debates on Cola-vs-Pepsi are -not- permitted. This thread aims to argue precisely why such threads are important, not which is superior.
First up is the historical aspect of this debate.
This is the classical internet debate. To deny it's importance is to turn your back on history. A move which History has shown us to be a bad one.
Secondly, the debate is an important method of gauging the style of the forum you're about to enter.
1) A pepsi favouring forum is more likely to be infested populated by younger users, whose taste buds have degenerated through years of processed food abuse.
2) A coke favouring forum on the other hand, generally denotes an older or more developed class of user. One who appreciates Cola's clearer favour and stronger effervescence.
3) A forum that deletes your thread and gives you an official warning for trolling... is most likely the forum of the respective companies, or is the z!CB apparently.
Thirdly. Were it that the above 2 points were not valid enough, this debate is the quintessential addiction point for 90% of internet drama addicts. It's the gateway to debate that powers the internet's forums. By banning it's discussion, you are attempting to stifle the internet. This my friends, is censorship.

I agree that it is a possible gateway to debate (or just argument), but what of a forum of people who prefer root beer to either? There are other options to consider besides Cola and Pepsi. What of their tastes? Who should be involved in the Cola vs. Pepsi debate? My position is that the Cola vs. Pepsi debate is way too limited and is closed to many people who can not take one position or the other.
