a Founder of the American socialist party, Norman Thomas, in the early 1900's said "The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened."
Is this not exactly what is happening now?

besides the nationalizing of countless baks and the auto industry, plus the attempted socializing of health care. the Democratic-socialist party isint that socialist

I'd call it more totalitarian than socialist, but they're both incredibly toxic venom for America.
I mean, How can you not see that ACORN is Obama's secret police?

Obama is rising to too much power way too fast. I have heard opinions that it is socialist, that it is totalitarian, and that it is communist; and the most convincing is the totalitarianism. It's absolutely disgusting.

It's absolutely disgusting. not just obama but the goverment in general, lets not forget that though not as bad republicans are just as responsible as the democrats. they can redeem themselves by going back to being the small goverment alternative instead of a watered down version of the democrats.

I agree 150%. Canaidate Obama ran as a fiscal conservative, but President Obama makes Mikhail Gorbochev look like a capitalist. Money for the stimulus and the omnibus are going to projects like useless bridges, the study of pig odor, and other junk. My church and I went to Gallup, New Mexico, to work at a battered women's shelter and I know they need some money. I'm sure a lot of crisis pregnancy centers need money, too.
In short, Obama wouldn't know anything about fiscal responsibility if it sat in his lap and called him Mama!

Oh YAY, someone is actually realizing that republicans aren't all goody-two-shoes. Unfortunately, most of the "Republican" party is turning into RINO's. They are taking part in destroying our country by adopting socialistic views and backing all of Obama's policies. It's like the "libertarians" who are not true libertarians. A libertarian, for those of you who don't know, is totally against letting the government have any power and back the Constitution and the rights that our founding fathers originally wanted to give us. With Obama as president the people are slowly losing their rights and the government is gaining some of their own.

Exactly, though I don't have a gun because I don't have much money. I do happen to believe that the Republican party is just "democrat lite". Same great taste, slightly less expedient in power-grabbing. I do recommend everybody read Glenn Beck's Common Sense. "get off of the free market in order to save it". Do you end a patient's life to save it as well?

Common Sense is the next book I'm buying, for sure.
Anyway, yea, I'm pretty ticked off with all the politicians in DC, save for a few. There are a few out there who are sticking to the real beliefs of the GOP. But that's the problem-- a few.
Going back to the first post, it reminds me of the frog and boiling water. If you stick a frog in boiling water, it'll jump out. But, if you place that same frog in a pot of water and slowly heat it up, it'll sit there and boil to death. And if we're not careful, that is exactly what is going to happen to the US.
With all the Czars Obama is selecting, he has his own group of unelected watchdogs to go do his own bidding, and there's nothing we can do to stop it. Then, with his policies, it is very socialist. So, unfortunately, I think that we're going to be in for the worst of the worst...a combination of every type of government our founding fathers fought to keep us from becoming.

i think the people that were going no hes not"lalalalalalalalalala i cant hear you" last year have to open there eyes to the health care were Obama is saying well i will pass it anyways even if you don't want it or not.
