Was Fuma Conspiracy any good? I want to get it once Dead or Alive comes out, so I can just order both of them together.
Also, does the third season connect in any way to the second? I want to get it, but don't know if I should wait and get the second series first.

I want to get it, but don't know if I should wait and get the second series first. The Fuma Constiracy was a good OVA. It's a Goemon movie. Lots of Goemon action, with ninjas. Ninjas that get cut-up by Goemon. Though, it is different in voices. You have to get used to it. Fuma had a low budget, so all the regular Japanese voice actors were not in it. The directors asked Monkey Punch if it was okay, and he said yes, as long as everybody got an explanation. However, the voice actor for Lupin, (Yasou Yamada), was not explained to well enough. This caused a strained relationship between him and Monkey Punch until Yamada's death...So, to me all the voices, in both languages sound weird...I know, I know too much about this stuff.... Moving on to the third series: You won't find any linking to any series or manga. It's totally stand-alone. It's fun, but you won't find manga chapters (as much as I've watched, over half the series as I write), refrences to the first or second series. Although, it does try to got into the characters pasts. In does try to be a bit deeper...In some ways it suceeds. More character development than other series, but this is still Lupin. Also, be prepared for very, very weird subtittles. Something along the lines of Richard being translated as Braughen... But, Lupin is Lupin is Lupin. Although, I must say, I like the second series...even if only to hear the english dub. Their funny. blaugh

Sounds cool. 3nodding A bit weird about the whole voice thing. Kind of sucks about Monkey Punch and Yamada, though. Well, the guy's dead, so I guess it's all over with or something. And I know way too much about certain things, too. Nani_Lupin Moving on to the third series: You won't find any linking to any series or manga. It's totally stand-alone. Yeah, the second series is fun to watch. I liked the first series, but I could see why some people didn't. The translations are weird, but at times very funny. I still can't figure out in the first series where one guys name was something like 'childrens lunch menu' or something. And then Lupin telling Pykal or however it's spelled 'your name makes me drunk.' XD Weird.

I have not been able to figure out the drunk=Pycal either. And, don't take my spelling as final (like anyone would...) I just spell it that way. I'll have to look into that. I learn more about Japan through random Anime sorces than I would otherwise.

I doubt I'll ever understand either of them since my brain likes to flutter from one thing to the next. My view of Japan from watching anime is probably so way off that if I wrote an essay on it, any Japanese person who read it would laugh and think I was an idiot. And they wouldn't be too far off.

Jinzouki Are they still giving Lupin on Cartoon Network? I don't currently have CN now cause I moved sad No, Lupin is now off air. The contract for Lupin expires at the end of Febuary, and CN said they didn't have any comment on renewal plans. Doesn't sound too good to me...I'll find the interview again.

I justy wait for the DVDs to be released. Although, they aren't the cheapest thing in the world, either.

I'm gonna order the third series tomorrow and with shipping and tax, it's gonna be around $55. I guess if you look at it as being six disks, than it's not that bad, but still. A lot of money to spend on dvds. Well, for me it is. I want to get the second series import just to see them all, but would rather have the dubbed ones. I like those and I don't run away from the voice acting. whee

I also like the Pioneer/Geneon dub. They all fit the characters well. Besides, I don't know where else I would hear a grown man singing "Edelweiss". Badly. It's funny. xd

I'm leaning more towards the dubs, though, right now. They have nine of those out, right? Well, actually my next Lupin purchase is Mystery of Mamo, Fuma Conspiracy and Dead or Alive. If I'm gonna spend my money, I might as well do it all at once, right? 3nodding

Yup. Nine are out, the tenth one is coming in April. #10 involves more Nazis, from what I hear. There's something about Lupin and WWII...
