I have almost every album released. Rush was my first venture into progressive rock, the first song I heard from them being "Time Stands Still" from the compilation album Spirit of Radio.
My current favorite songs are "Lock and Key", "Mystic Rhythms", and "Everyday Glory".
Neil Peart's a freakin' BEAST on the drums! He's also practically the star of the group, with a rising/rotating drum setup. What's ironic is that he's stage-shy. He hates the limelight, and I believe his feelings about it were reflected when he wrote the song "Limelight".
I've been told that I kind of sound like Geddy Lee when I sing their later songs. True or not, I don't know. I hate hearing myself sing as others hear me. xD *self-conscious*
And poor Alex keeps being forgotten, despite having released a solo album along with Geddy. Neil doesn't have one of these, probably for the reason stated above.
Bottom line? I am a Rush fan and would kill to get tickets to see them on tour. I really wanted to see them in KC during the Snakes and Arrows Tour, but my dad refused to let me, even with my now-fiance planning to go plus my mom taking us both up there. But if there is a new tour, I'm saving up my money and buying tickets, dammit!
