((Don't forget location markers, and specify the character you're using in the location marker (that is, if you have more than one character). Be nice to your fellow Rper (I really don't foresee a problem in that) and follow the last rule of having fun.

This is looking like a good one, folks!))

Deirdre: ~Parson's Avenue, East District~

"Thank you." said Deirdre, hurriedly grabbing the various pastries she'd just bought from the street stand.

The man behind the counter began to say something cheerful, perhaps commenting about the bio-dome's excellent recent choices in weather, but his accent was just too thick and it was beginning to be a bit of a chore talking to him.

Also, the target was slipping away. Cramming a donut into her mouth and cradling the weight of the paper bag on her one shoulder, Deirdre turned a busy corner. Her eyes narrowed as she scanned the chaotic crowd. She thought she saw a glimpse of a woman who matched the description, but then in another split-second, she was gone. The pace had to be picked up. Deirdre walked faster. As she did so, her free hand removed the donut. Lightly tapped her right ear, she said:

"The target is moving down Parson's Avenue. at this point, she might or might not be aware of my presence. I'm going to try and find an isolated locale to talk." That is, if she wants to talk. An assassin character (after some peculiar deaths, Isis had eventually latched onto the case) might not even feel safe enough to converse with another Celestial, and this caused Deirdre some worry. Despite what some other Isis agents thought, she really wasn't good at defending herself in a pinch. "Hey, who am I talking to, by the way?" asked Deirdre in-between another bite of her donut.

She was forced to dance around a group of children as they ran by, obviously indulging themselves in a very dangerous game of tag in a place where cars and inattentive drivers were not that far away. Deirdre would be talking to whomever was currently at the main desk, or whoever had taken some of the communication equipment while out for a leisurely stroll in the city. "And does HQ have any plans to send backup?"

These are all questions I should have cleared up before deciding to tail someone so early in the morning, but if I'd waited, the sensors would have lost her 'scent'. This might be the only chance I have for a while to reform an assassin...if such a thing can even be done. Maybe FM would be the best place for her, actually. Well, I'd better talk to her first, huh?

Hiram: ~Car on Parson's Avenue, East District~

He chewed idly on the cigar, and felt a little guilt. That very morning, his wife, citing the horrible smell, had thrown an offensive pack of the things in the garbage. Of course, she didn't know about his extra stack at work, nor would she ever learn about it. The guilt was momentary, and then he raised a lighter.

Eh well, what did it matter, anyway? He had to calm his nerves. His new partner was driving.

After they'd gotten that call from a nervous woman IDing the woman she'd saw on the terrace after finding his businessman husband dead (Hiram had a suspicion she was less concerned about the husband then she was about the idea that the assassin wanted her head as well) everything had been too busy and chaotic getting there on time to overly worry about little details like who was driving.

Hiram leaned back in his seat and calmly observed the crowd. "See anyone suspicious?"

((I really utilized a lot of minor character control to begin with, mostly with putting your characters in certain locations. Sorry if it offends anyone, but try to move with the flow, okay? I'll note the current situation with my characters so nobody gets confused about the details:

-Deirdre is tailing Sazuko
-She's also communicating via a chip in her ear with any character at Isis that wants to take the duty
-Hiram and Samuel are sitting in a car on the same street because some IDed the person that killed their husband (a.k.a. Sazuko)

To be concise...poor Sazuko. crying ))

Mizumi: ~Isis HQ~

Mizumi ran through the halls of Isis, carrying her shoes, putting on her business jacket even as she slipped into the elevator just before the doors closed. Why today? She quickly fit her last shoe on before the doors opened on the main floor, where she ran up to the front desk.

"Where's Dierdre?" she asked, panting. Helene, the front desk operator, handed her the headset.

"She's on Parson's, doesn't know if target is aware," the secretary informed her.

Mizumi grabbed the communications device and shoved it in her ear. She had slept late, today of all days, and someone else had been on the line with Deirdre.

This is a dangerous mission, and I placed my friend's life in someone else's hands. What is WRONG with me today?

She placed the headset on just in time to hear her friend ask, "Hey, who am I talking to, by the way? And does HQ have any plans to send backup?""

"I'm so sorry, Deirdre, I just got here. You were on with Helene, but it's Mizumi now. I can send Korin if you need her." As she walked to her office, she waved to a few people and grabbed a small pastry for her breakfast.

"Helene told me you're on Parson's," she said, sitting behind her desk and pulling up the data files on this particular case. "Watch out for AGSA, I think they've got a tail on her too. I know for a fact that Hiram's been after this one for a while. And Deirdre... be careful." Mizumi knew she sounded like an overprotective mother, but she really cared for the rash young woman, and didn't want to see her get hurt.

Duncan: ~Berkin street (intersects with Parson's) East District~

A tall, short-haired man in a plain business suit walked casually along Berkin, keeping an eye on all the cars and people, noticing things. His eyes were hidden by a pair of dark sunglasses, so no one could tell that he wasn't just another man lost in his own world.

Duncan kept his hands in his pockets, fiddling idly with the information FM wanted. For some reason they wanted to know what AGSA was doing, and so it had fallen to him to tag a few agents.

He knew that if AGSA was around, Celestials would be too. He also knew that the real reason he was here was to recruit them. He found this task rather distasteful, but even he could see that these "meta-humans" were good for the cause, and he wasn't about to let personal preferences get inthe way of overthrowing the government. He didn't even know what it was he didn't like about them, he just plain didn't.

He leaned against a building on the corner of Parson's and Berkin, and spotted the car he was tailing. He figured that if he could get to the Celestial first, or hell, even after AGSA was done with it, it wouldn't be hard to recruit it. Now all he had to do was spot one, and he would have his target.

((Everyone wants the Sazuko! Sorry if I took some liberties with the technology, I have no idea what technological era this is in...))

((AHHH! Everyone does want Sazuko! ninja Also, even if you have only one character, could you please say their name at least once, in the beginning of each of your posts, so I know who we're talking about? Thanks! ^^))

Sazuko quickly walked down the narrow alley off of Parson's. Her long golden skirt fluttered in the wind. She crossed her arms and rubbed her hands together.

"Sure is cold today," she muttered. But coldness wasn't even on her mind. It was the thought of a hunt. A hunt on the hunted. A tiger on a rabbit. A killer on the kill. And unfortunatly, she wasn't the killer for once. How did she know. It was obvious. She had been though so many kills to not know when someone was following her. After all, she had usually been the follower. But now...

She sighed. Coming to a dead end, she turned around. Eyes widening, Sazuko shook her head. She laughed.

"A young woman," she snickered. A beautiful young woman, with flowing white hair, much to white for her age, stood before her. Sazuko had thought it to be an old man; a pervert. But no, it was a young person. Sazuko would have been relieved if it had not been for the look in the others eyes. Someone else is here, she thought.

((everyone is so good at rping. I feel so out of place. sweatdrop ))

((Sazuko: No prob about the name thing. That's a good idea. And you're doing absolutely fine, just don't forget the location marker. I'll put in our location marker for right now.

mimeiko: The technology's fine; I'm giving a lot of room for poetic licensce in this Rp. As long as we refrain from spaceships sweatdrop ))

Deirdre: ~Back Alley, Parson's Street, East District~

Deirdre laughed, striding along quickly. "Sometimes I forget who's the older one here. Don't worry too much Mizumi, or you'll get hair like mine."

Her jesting tone lowered into something more serious, as she watched the woman tentatively assumed to be the target make an abrupt turn into a back alleyway. "The target's slipped into somewhere private and quiet, and dark...possibly dangerous. And if Hiram really is around, maybe backup's not too bad of an idea."

With that, she dropped her pastries outside the alley and took a last bite of her precious donut.

The girl's bitter and sarcastic laugh, as well as her greeting words, crackled over the communicator to Mizumi. "A young woman."

Deirdre raised her hand in a cheerful wave, though not too cheerful. "Yeah. Hi. So how are you? Sorry for tailing you, but trust me, it was better me than someone else. You have very interesting abilities, I hear."

She concentrated for a moment, and then a trash can crashed into the wall of a nearby building, a large indent visible making it look like someone had physically punched it. Afterwards, she wished a demonstration wasn't necessary - her head hurt horribly. "So do I." Stepping forward, she placed her hands in her pockets. "There's a place for people like us. No judging, no need to kill to survive."

Korin ~Isis HQ~

Korin groggily stumbled into the kitchen area, her eyes not even half-open yet. She slammed open the refridgerator and grabbed the grape juice.
She sat down on the barstool at the table and grabbed a portion of the newspaper that was in a messy pile in the center. She made a face at the ridiculous story that made the headline news, flinging the paper back where she got it. It was something so moronic it was unbelievable, most likely a story on how AGSA's research was benefiting mankind more than words can describe. "Jeez, I can't believe stuff like that even makes the paper any more!" she said, disgusted.
She took a sip of her grape juice and stared at the wall. She was getting this nagging feeling that she was forgetting something.
Korin's eyes shot open. She slammed the palm of hand to her forehead and remembered the briefing from yesterday. "All units must be on high alert. 24/7 stand-by is required."
"I'm in so much trouble!" she whined, burying her face in her hands. She quickly finished her juice and ran to shower and get dressed.

She ran quickly into the main office and slammed her hands down on the secretary's desk. "Pluh-" she wheezed, "Please tell me they haven't called for me yet?"
Helene raised an eyebrow. "No, but Mizumi is currently in communication with Deirdre, and I heard her mention defenses. I could be wrong, but deployment might be imminent."
Korin was half relieved, and half incredibly upset. "Imminent!? Aw, man..."
She gave a nod of thanks to the secretary and walked into the elevator.
She hated the mirrors that adorned each wall of the small room. They were just plain creepy. She made an effort to jump when the elevator began to move, like a small child might do. Instead, she jumped at precisesly the wrong moment and fell over. She shot up and brushed herself off before the doors reopened, and, straightening her jacket, walked down the hall to Mizumi's office.

((Okay, yay! ^__^ And Sazuko, you RP very well!))

Mizumi: ~Isis HQ~

Don't worry too much, she says! Unbelievable, Mizumi thought to herself, smiling for a moment. She quickly send out signals to all communicators except the one Deirdre was wearing, asking Korin to check in to get coordinates for an emergency backup mission ASAP. It was a little harsh, but Mizumi didn't want to take any chances.

As hastily as she could, she called upon her element, finding the water main closest to Isis HQ. She followed it out to Deirdre's location, feeling the way the water rushed through the underground pipes, letting herself become one with it before pulling herself back to Isis HQ. At this range her powers wouldn't do much, but she could cause a quick distraction if need be.

Mizumi's blood froze when she heard the voice crackling over the communicator. The image flashed in her mind of actually being out there on the street, facing this possible enemy, and she inwardly cringed, ashamed of her own cowardice.

As she heard Deirdre show the target her powers, Mizumi took a calming breath, steadying herself should she have to actually use her powers. She only hoped Korin would get the message, and Deirdre wouldn't have to face the danger alone.

Duncan: ~Just outside the back alley off of Parson's~

He had heard the crash of something large, like a trash bin, hitting the wall. He knew that had to be the Celestial. He just hoped AGSA wasn't going to try and take her back to their office, because it would be so much easier to deal with it out here. Then he could shower and get away from this whole mess.

Peeking down the back alley, he saw two women standing there, which confused him. The AGSA agents he was tailing were both men. One of the women had long white hair, and something about her looked familiar. Duncan pushed that thought to the back of his mind, knowing he couldn't be distracted by vague feelings right now. The other one, with blond hair, looked dangerous. He wondered which was the Celestial, though figured it was probably the dangerous-looking one.

He admittted, somewhere deep inside, that he was really glad he was just trying to recruit them, not fight them.

Korin ~Isis HQ~

Korin shuffled her feet as she got closer to Mizumi's office. This is so stupid! I should've just stayed in bed! Why did Deirdre have to go out today? She was fighting a whiny battle in her head, and losing.
She passed another one of the corridors on the way to the office and noticed the vending machine at the end. She suddenly realized that all she had for breakfast was some juice, and not alot, at that.
Her stomach growled and she stuck her hand in her pocket. She had put a few in her pocket that morning, just in case. She brought them out and looked at them for a second. "Just enough!" she noted happily.
She began to walk dazedly towards the machine when she felt a sharp twang in her chest. She dropped her money and her hand quickly shot to her chest.
Stupid Communicator! she thought angrily in her head.
She kept hers on a chain in her shirt so it wouldn't get in the way (although it was small). And she had left it on stun, which was actually just a small jolt of energy used to get the holder's attention. She brought the screen up to her face and read the small print with concern.
"YOU'VE GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!" she whined loudly, causing a few heads to poke out of their offices.
She gave them dirty looks and, leaving her long-forgotten money on the ground, turned back to Mizumi's office.
She knocked twice on the door and poked her head inside. "Hi, Mizumi!" she said happily. She always liked to see her friend. After her pleasantries, however, her face quickly became a frown again. "I got your message..." she said, pointing at her communicator. "What can I do for you today?"

((Sorry about the money-thing. I didn't want to put "A few bucks" seeing as I don't know the currency... sweatdrop ))

((OMG! I'm sorry!!! I didn't see your first post, Lelio! I'm a dork!!!!! *dies*))

Mizumi: ~Isis HQ~

Mizumi saw the upset look on Korin's face and sighed. She wanted to apologize, say she was sorry, but she couldn't deal with those emotions. She was already dealing with her worry about Deirdre, and the confrontation involved in admitting she knew how Korin felt was too much for her.

"Deirdre is tracking target 456893, the assasin. Hiram is most likely on her tail as well. Deirdre just made contact with the target, though Hiram has not been located yet." Her business-like tone softened. "You'll just be needed for backup and maybe some healing," she said, trying to apologize.

She handed Korin a small slip of paper. "Here's the directions. Good luck."

Sammuel ~Car on Parson's Avenue, East District~

"Every one," he muttered half to himself. He was stop-go driving in somewhat heavy traffic. "There--" he thought he had seen her, then cursed as the car in front of him slowed down to make a turn. "And there, there is definitely a woman following her. Did you see her? You're supposed to be the one looking!" He was mainly supposed to drive. He remembered perfectly what their suspect Celestial looked like, but Hiram probably did too and Hiram had the advantage of experience. A person moves like this when they are nervous, a person is attracked to this sort of hiding place...

He had learned all those type of things in school, but school was different than the street, especially when Celestials were involved. I mean, they weren't exactly human, were they? So they could always be expected to act like the text book, especially if they had powers that would help them hide, run, or fight. Text books were never unpredictable after the first read. And now he was about to pass the alley the Celestial had turned into.

((It's okay! It worked out spiffily. cool ))

Korin ~Isis HQ~

Korin smiled sadly. "Whatever I need to do, you know I'll do. I'm not going to let Deirdre get torn into a itsy bitsy pieces by a celestial gone mad." She made small ripping motions with her hands, and attempted a feeble laugh.
"Well, I'm off... thanks, Mizumi." she took the slip of paper and read it over quickly. "All the way over there....guess I'll need my board. Bye!" she waved cheerfully in a pitiful attempt to make her look excited. She closed the door and leaned back against it, heaving a sigh.
"I hate going outside..." she muttered.

She got back in the elevator and took it to basement level.

~Isis HQ, Basement Level~

Korin walked across the dank parking structure to her space. All members were required to have a vehicle. She went to the large storage closet in the wall and typed in her password. The door slid open with a hiss and she grabbed her Power Board.
It looked like a normal skateboard, with the additon of straps and a motor. It was incredibly old-fashioned, but she liked it. Most people these days would just use a hoverboard, but she was personally not fond of them.
She cast a quick protection spell on herself, one that would immediately amplify should she feel terror. She bent down to strap on the board, started it, and headed towards the door. She gave the Attendant a quick salutation and took off briskly down the street.

~Near and on Parson's Avenue, East District.~

She had gotten about half way there when she pulled the paper out of her pocket to get the exact coordinates. She turned a corner, passing a black car parked as if waiting for a drug dealer. She cast a backwards glance at it, and made a face of disgust. They look like they're in the mob... she thought to herself. This amused her. She felt her communicator beep and she slowed her board, parking it on the walkway.
"Target within 20 feet. Please distance, " It read.
I swear, with the technology we have, they could at least make this dumb thing sound intelligent.
She swung back behind the corner and poked her head out from behind it. She scanned the area and noticed Deirdre's white hair. She crouched down and began to watch, making sure not to be seen.

((awww thanks everyone. This time, I'll try my best on this post! Sorry about location marker problem. I had totally no idea what you guys were talking about, but I think I get the idea now. ^^;; wink )

Sazuko: ~Back Alley, Parson's Street, East District~

Sazuko's eyes narrowed. Who do these people think I am, a weakling?, she thought. However, Sazuko wasn't stupid. She knew that getting into a fight with a pyschic Celestial wasn't the brightest idea. They could both end up dead, something that Sazuko didn't mind that much anymore, but losing to her? No. Sazuko had too much pride to lose. Maybe I'll just go see what she has to say, and leave....

"You're powers seem worthless...So could you tell me who else is following me?" she said casually. She took a plastic staw out of her pocket and began to chew on the tip. She always did this when she felt something other than normal-the rushing feeling to kill. Right now she felt...agitated. Agitated that these people knew who she was. Agitated because after all this time, she finally slipped.

Who told them...., she thought, rage starting to build in her. The chewing on the straw stopped. She spit it out. The straw clattered against the floor, but Sazuko didn't even notice. Her eyes were focased on the Celestial. She didn't know if she could hold her growing anger any longer.

((MUST. ANGST!!!! eek ))

Mizumi: ~Isis HQ~

Mizumi watched Korin leave, feeling like the worst person in the world. Here she waas, perfectly fine in her office, asking a sweet, innocent girl to go out and get in danger.

She was interuppted from her self-destructive thoughts by part of the conversation filtering through the communication device.

"Your powers... worthless... So... tell me who... owing me?"

Damn, she thought. She's not talking loud enough! I can't tell what's going on! Relaxing and focusing, she prepared to spring a leak in the vicinity, just in case Deirdre and Korin needed a distraction.

((MUST. CRASH CAR!!!! scream whee

....))

Hiram: ~Parson's Street, East District~

His eyes followed Samuel's gaze, as he searched out the woman he was talking about. He had a vague suspicion that it was a member of Isis (they always showed up at the most frustrating moments) and when he saw her, he was sure of it. He was sure of it, and also pretty angry.

"That's - Deirdre -"

Being essentially in the same business of tracking Celestial movements, Hiram was already well-acquainted with the Isis operative. They'd run into each other a couple of other times in cases, and both parties had made clear that their end goal was to meddle in each other's affairs. Deirdre was also the Celestial he couldn't seem to kill. Somehow she knew when to run, and when to stand and be stupidly brave. Either that, or she was just absurdly lucky.

He peered forward as the car rolled on, taking the cigar from his mouth. A few minutes later, a second Isis operative appeared, a girl named Korin that he also recongized. She was also talented with her abilities, but not quite as serious or formidable acting as some of the other Celestials he'd encountered. Not that Hiram took her any less seriously. All Celestials were dangerous.

Not another second could be wasted; Celestials could disappear just like that, if they had to. He grabbed hold of the steering wheel, and somehow avoiding oncoming traffic in the other lane, made an abrupt turn that brought them to the entrace of the alley, in some fashion or another. Skid marks were obvious on the sidewalk.

Deirdre: ~Back Alley, Parson's Street, East District~

"Worthless." The jab irritated her, but somehow she maintained that easy smile. "Fine. But I'm still one of you, and maybe someone you respect more will be at Isis. As for those following us, one is a comrade of mine." Her eyes briefly trailed back to the end of the alley, where she had a vague feeling Korin probably was. "

Then, a loud screeching, and an all-too familiar black car made its abrupt, but somehow, predictable appearance. Deirdre instinctively took a step back, and then felt guilty, realizing Korin was by the car.

"Mizumi! It is Hiram - Hiram and someone else." Then, louder: "KORIN, MOVE!"
