Has anyone played this game? I have played the first one and it was really good but, I have been unable to play the second one yet, and I would really like to know more about it from a player's perspective. Was it any good and how was the gameplay? If anyone can provide any information about it I would appreciate it.

The game was good, but no near ad good as the first. The gameplay is kind of..blah, battle system is different (Though I personally liked it) Not many other people did. The stor is shorter and the sidequests suck, but It's still a very good game ^_^

I'm actually playing it right now. sweatdrop
I didn't actually finish Xenosaga 1 though. I was just facing Albedo at Song of Nephilim though.
Okay, so I'm already pretty far into the 2nd one right now. At the beginning I was like, "WTF! Where did all the cutesy looking characters go!" The animation style and some of the voices changed. If that matters to you much.
I think the plot is more serious this time. Almost ALL the time. It's pretty fast moving. Oh, and they've also incorporated Jin, Shion's brother into the story as well.
The battle system is slightly different. Okay, so you know how you would be given two chances to attack. If you only did one attack, then you "saved" the other attack so that you could use one of the Tech attacks another turn. In this one, you either do the two-attack, or you don't. If you want to use a special attack, you have to use a "stock" command and skip that turn.
They've also incorporated double attacks into the battle system that are unlocked with "books" stolen from bosses or obtained by doing sidequests.
All in all, I say it's another great game. 3nodding

I haven't played it, but it looks great. If it's at the same level as the first one, then it should be awesome. I like the character designs much better. Shion used to look like a ten-year-old girl, not the creator of the military's greatest weapon. Now she looks like an adult. Unfortunately for chaos, he still looks ridiculous in those short-shorts...

Unfortunately for chaos, he still looks ridiculous in those short-shorts... Chaos gets long pants early in the games. Actual pants, not just short shorts and stockings... Actually, everybody gets new clothes except for Ziggy really. He's same old Ziggy. Whenever I used to look at chaos in Xenosaga, I used to giggle. Silly chaos! Shorts shorts are for hos!

I wish I saw this thread before I made my own. Anyways I like the game. I can't complain about one single thing. Probably because i'm very adaptable.

Visp Its alright i own it but i didn't get far. i talked with a german guy and the title means On the other side of good and evil .. thats what i got out of it hard for him to interpt. Pretty close. Der Wille Zur Mach (Xenosaga Ep.1) The Will to Power Jeseits Von Gut und Bose (Xenosaga Ep.2) Beyond Good and Evil Also Sprach Zarathustra (Xenosaga Ep.3) Thus Spoke Zarathustra Therefore we have: The will to power is beyond good and evil; thus spoke Zarathustra. These three titles are all titles taken from three of the books written by Frederick Neitzsche; a philosopher from the late 1800's. Xenosaga is heavily based on his ideas and writings as well as many other things including various religions and philosophies. Pretty deep for a video game huh. At least when you get into it further than needed for basic understanding of the game...obssession; how I love thee. sweatdrop It's something I can "shove" in my mom's face next time she tells me video games are for stupid people. Just go off spouting philosophy. If only I had the courage lol.
